Here's part 3 of the Frost and ShadowFang story.

ShadowFang and Frost belongs to Silversketch on FA

"And that is how you make a paste to heal a wound," the Sage said. In this dimly-lit hut, the grey elder wolf of the pack had just completed a demonstration to his apprentice on a concoction. It was one of the hundred concoctions brewed from fruits and herbs that he acquired through experience. As he stirred the foul smelling green liquid, I stood across him and raised my hand before I spoke, my speech hindered by the other hand covering my muzzle.

"I still don't get... why we need so many different... medicines. Half of these... are for injuries... or sicknesses that rarely happen..." I said.

The Sage shook his head with a look of disapproval and spoke with anger. "If you think like that then you are not worthy to protect the Alpha. He has enemies in and out of these walls. And if he is eliminated chaos will befall the pack."

I winced at my teacher's backlash. Rubbing my paws together, I bowed down. "I'm sorry! That was an amateurish thought!"

Uninterested, the Sage pushed the pot into my arms. "Go clean it."

With a little effort and an arched back, I was able to carry the pot out of the Sage's den, dodging the various bottles and pots sprawled out on the floor. The disappointment on my face was clearer than a newly made piece of glass. To me the Sage had been like the father I never had; my real father disappeared the day I was born, and my mother was taken away by brain cancer when I was just five.

I shook my head violently in an attempt to block out those dark memories from creeping back into consciousness. This was my new life now, and the pack was my new family. The Sage's den was the closest to the Thorn Wall; a quick left turn and I was facing the massive structure that hid the entire pack from the outside world. Throughout the three months I learned that the Thorn Wall could open a doorway to selected locations around the world, usually to an uninhabited area rich with wildlife and flora. That was how the pack had managed to survive for so long without anyone outside knowing about their existence.

I prepared to chant the incantation. "Op-"

The wall began unraveling before I could complete my phrase. Two herculean jet-black wolves stepped into the clearing. Both were carrying the carcass of a beast they just hunted over their shoulder, not a drop of blood spilling from the body. It seemed to be a clean kill.

The two wolves were packed with meaty muscle from their shoulders down to their quads, so much so that even the biggest bodybuilder fur I saw back in college would look like a hamster compared to them. Like all the other wolves except me they wore no clothing, exposing their cock and balls to the world. Back when I first joined I was very conscious of everyone's endowment, but I had grown accustomed to it. If not for the orange bite mark on the left pectoral of the wolf to the right the two of them could easily be mistaken for twins. The one with the paw print was Sigil, the first member of the pack I ever met, and the other was my lover ShadowFang, the tribe's Alpha.

When I saw Shadow's smile, before I knew it my tail started wagging like a newborn puppy seeing his favorite toy for the first time. I walked briskly up to them with an excited grin plastered on my face, forgetting that I was carrying a pot full of stinky chemicals sloshing back and forth, almost hitting my chest.

"You're back! How was the hunt? Wow, those things don't look easy to catch," I asked.

Sigil dropped the carcass he was carrying onto the floor. It fell with a loud thud and I could feel the earth vibrate as it touched the ground. That thing was not light.

"It was a quick hunt; this should last the Circle for a week if Char can avoid snacking late at night on it. Leave the preservation to me Alpha," said Sigil. He opened his arms to ShadowFang, ready to receive the other wolf's catch of the day. With a light grunt ShadowFang tossed the creature's body to Sigil who caught it with ease as though it were paper.

"Tell Char if he keeps eating more than his share, he will be on hunting duty for the whole year," said ShadowFang to Sigil. His baritone voice sent shivers down my spine. "And what are you up to pup?"

"Oh! Err, I'm just going to go clean this pot for ol' Sagey," I replied while breaking into a nervous giggle. In my head I was slapping myself for looking like such a nervous twit.

"And when is it your turn to hunt, Frost?" Sigil asked with an annoyed tone while slicing his claw into one of the carcasses. I could feel my heart fall into the pit of my stomach as I imagined myself killing and slicing a living creature. I ate meat but I couldn't hunt meat. Sigil had a point though. The Circle which made up of the Alpha, the Children of the Moon and the Sage and I were supposed to take turns hunting for the group, but I never once hunted so far.

ShadowFang interjected. "Heh, don't waste time with this one. He can barely hold that pot, you really think he can hunt enough to feed all six of us?"

Sigil's blue eyes narrowed. He exchanged suspicious stares between me and Shadow before returning to his work. I had to resist the urge to drop the pot and hug Shadow for saving me. That would expose our relationship which he wanted to keep secret from the rest of the pack. ShadowFang grinned at me, patted me on the head and shoved me straight through the Thorn Wall. On the other side, I ran to the nearby river to clean the pot. This was my life every day now; simple and peaceful.

Next morning, I was awakened by Sigil who thought that the best way to wake me was to blow into my ears. The stabbing sensation in my eardrum startled me awake, only for me to slam snout first into Sigil's dangling ball sack and have a deep whiff of the larger wolf's musky crotch area.

I pulled myself back. "Argh, balls!"

Sigil was squatting over me. When I looked up I could just barely see his snout over his barrel chest. His piercing blue eyes looked down at me with a serious expression, "Get ready, the Alpha has summoned the Circle." Before I could ask what it was about, the colossal black wolf left my den as quietly as he appeared. I rubbed the crust off my eyes and thought to myself, "How the heck does he move so fast with all that muscle on him?"

I quickly put on my little brown rag to cover myself and made my way to Shadow's den. Once inside, I realized I was the last one to arrive as the other four wolf members were already seated on the floor. Sigil and Char filled out the middle seat with their bulk. To the right of Sigil was the Sage, and to the left of Char was Luke. Luke was an enigmatic wolf. I knew little about him but I suspected he was related to the Sage somehow because of how similar their fur and eye color were. One could say Luke looked like the Sage when he was just twenty years old.

The Sage told me the Alpha's den was larger than the others. That extra space helped for such an occasion where he would summon his trusted members to discuss the pack's affairs. Shadow's den had little inside like all the others; far in the back was the old torn cloth he would sleep on. There, I would sleep on him when I got to spend the night with him.

None of them paid any attention to me when I entered. Begrudgingly, I had to sit between the always serious and physically intimidating Sigil and the powerlifter-shaped brown wolf Char, whose soft belly appeared to have grown since I first saw him at the initiation. It was an uncomfortable place to be; on my left Char's huge sweaty gut was pressing against me and on my right Sigil's unmovable muscular arm was doing the same.

"Suck it in! How long can this go, right?" I thought to myself.

The four of us sat in a semicircle facing ShadowFang. He had a dark and grim aura around him, scowling while looking at the floor like someone just died. The Sage spoke first.

"Char and Luke returned with a troubling report. One of our exiled members has reappeared in Lil Crater, and he may be planning to assassinate the Alpha."

"What?! Who is this guy?! And why would he be going after ShadowFang?" I asked.

"We used to call him Jerky on an account of how much of a jerk he was to everyone," said Char with his arms crossed. "His real name was Jarone, about Sigil's size and build but none of the self-control. He'd start a fight with any wolf that even thought about him funny, and he'd know on account of his mind reading powers."

"Mind reading was just one of his arsenals, though with his love of the occult, by now he would have amassed new powers that we aren't aware about," said the Sage. He closed his eyes with a worried expression like he recalled some dark memory about this Jarone.

Sigil then took over. "He wasn't content with fighting those around him. He wanted to spread the pack's influence even further by forcing "membership" to others."

I looked at Sigil with a puzzled expression. "What?! We're picked by the moon, aren't we? Ho-How can you force people to j-join? Especially non-wolves?"

Shadow finally broke his silence. "That's not the only way. No matter how 'civil' we may be now, but deep down we are tribal wolves first. We can make others into us by infusing our essence into them through our bites. They would start off as mindless beasts, desiring nothing more but blood and to spread this foul disease further, but eventually they would regain their consciousness. And once they realize the horrors they committed, they would have nowhere else to turn to but the pack and they would forever be loyal. That was what Jarone wanted to do, since it worked so well on me before."

Silence fell upon the den. Everyone else looked unfazed by Shadow's story. Yet for me, hearing for the first time that my lover could be a killer or not even the person I thought he was shocked me to my core.

Sigil stood up and spoke. "Enough talk! If Jarone is really in the town we need to get to him before he gets to us. Who knows how long he has been out there plotting his revenge. We should-"

Char interrupted. "Calm your tits, Captain Muscle! For all we know he could have made his presence known now just to lure us into a trap. Luke and I have been surveying the town every day, and we only caught his scent last week. Better we stay behind the wall and just stay away. He can't get to us that way."

Sigil growled at him. "If we stay inside he will just find a way in later. He is as crafty as a fox, and more dangerous than any of us. He's the reason Luke's a fucking mute right now and you still think hiding will help? You're a coward." Char responded, revealing his fangs with a guttural growl. "Well, Luke wouldn't have lost his voice if you weren't such a pathetic whelp! You didn't even bother to lift a finger when that maniac attacked. Don't try to act all high and mighty just because you got a little bigger! I'll still wipe the floor with your blood." Char shoved Sigil back with his right paw. The two looked like they were close to tearing each other's throat apart. I sat there with panic in my eyes. I needed to think of something to calm them down.

Luke looked surprised to hear his name mentioned, but he quickly returned his gaze back onto the floor.

"Silence!" ShadowFang's commanding voice got the duo's attention and prevented a possible death match. "If we start fighting between us Jarone would have already won. This isn't about what our pasts were. This is about our future as a pack. Notify the other pack members that a curfew is active effective immediately. Lil Crater and its surrounding areas are off limits to everyone except for the extermination group. Sigil. Char. Both of you are to assemble a team to seek Jarone out and put an end to him. Understood?"

The Alpha was both commanding and inspiring; there was no rage in his bright yellow eyes, just determination not to let his pack fall apart. We nodded in agreement, but as the rest left the den I stayed behind to settle things with Shadow.

I approached him while clutching my own right arm, as though trying to support myself to have the courage speak to him. Even at this moment, I was still intimidated by his presence up close. I placed my paw upon his right pectoral and asked, "Why didn't you tell me you went through all that to become the Alpha?"

ShadowFang stayed silent and looked at me with tired eyes and pulled-back ears. He pulled me close with his right paw, and I could feel our dicks touching each other through my loincloth. I disrobed myself, letting my semi-hardon rest on top his larger member. ShadowFang didn't do anything, he just held me close, one paw on my bare ass and the other on my back.

"It's irrelevant, who I was before forming the pack. That's why we are all here to restart our lives," said ShadowFang.

I looked up to him. "It does matter! If we want to make this work we can't have secrets with one another. And here I find out I know almost nothing about you and you could be killed anytime soon. Am I just gonna cry over your lifeless body when that happens?"

Shadow gently patted my head. "Don't worry my pup. I won't go down that easily. I'll fight to keep you and the pack safe."

I closed my eyes and gave ShadowFang a kiss on the lips. I loved him, and I wanted him to trust my love, so that I can be a part of his life. His thick tongue met mine and we did our little wrestle in each other's maw. My dick sprang to a full erection; it had been days since we got intimate.

Suddenly, ShadowFang pulled back and whispered to my ear. "Not today pup. Maybe once all this is over." He returned my loincloth to me and sent me away.

When I stepped out of his den, I made up my mind that I was going to protect him one way or another.
