#53 of Pokemon - Tale of the Guardian Master
Chapter 53 - The Guardians Call
As the three sat, eating and chatting together, Chris couldn't help but repeatedly glance out the window, noticing the enormous structure looming over the others in the distance. "Hey... Mind telling me what that is?" he asked Gerald, pointing it out. Blinking and having a look for himself, he smiled and nodded in response. "That would be the Millennium Mall sir. I originally intended to take these two there... Unfortunately they refused to go in the end without you tagging along. The precious things wanted to save the best for you..." he chuckled, causing both Gardevoir and Servine to blush embarrassed and wave him off, the two responding with a "hush hush!!" as he and Chris laughed. "Aww... You two are sweet... I'm glad you didn't do everything without me! Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts!" he grinned, causing the two Pokemon to face away with shy smiles. "Y... Yes... Not fair if we... Did everything..." Gardevoir told him, poking her fingers as Servine nodded. "I... Indeed! You deserve that much I suppose..." she told him proudly, her head held high causing Chris and Gerald to smile with a nervous bit of sweat on their faces. "Y... Yeah. Thanks." he chuckled, giving the two a rub on the head. "So then Master Chris... I take it you would like to go there next?" Gerald asked as one of the staff brought them their orders. "Sure! What's it like inside though...? Sure is a huge place..." he responded as they started eating.
"Ohh its marvelous... And if you go to the top, its one of the most popular locations for young lovers in the city!" he chuckled, causing the three to suddenly blush embarrassed and face away from one another. "Th... That isn't the purpose... C... Come on..." Chris told him, scratching his cheek shyly as Gerald burst into laughter. "Oh do forgive me. Its simply too much fun... But the truth is, the view from its peak can't be beat. Able to look over the city and beyond... Especially if the sun is setting... Nothing like it in the world. Truly a feast for the eyes you shan't soon forget!" he smiled, eating his food as well while Chris and Servine gave him "ooohhh" expressions, failing to notice Gardevoir in the moment of excitement, sitting between them with a slightly... Left out look about her, facing down sadly before slowly eating her food as well. As they continued talking about everything the mall had to offer, sights and all, Chris suddenly turned to Gardevoir with a grin. "Sounds awesome, huh?! What do you thi...!!" he paused, blinking at her with a sudden look of concern. "H... Hey... What's up...?" he asked, rubbing Gardevoir on the head as she continued eating silently with tears in her eyes. "Oh goodness... Are you ill madam...?" Gerald asked, touching her on the forehead only for her to suddenly shake her head and wipe her eyes. "Ah... Ha ha. No worry! I'm fine..." she responded, showing a smile as the two looked at her in concern, Servine tilting her head and shrugging. "Ehh... She can be a rather loose canon with her emotions from time to time... My guess is with Chris free from the hospital and all, she's just overwhelmed." she told the two, nodding at her own suggestion as they blinked at Gardevoir. "Aww... I'm sorry I had to be help up so long... I promise to make it up to you!" he chuckled, giving Gardevoir a nudge as she continued holding her smile. "Y... Yeah. Really good... Having you with us in city. Go lots of places together now..." she responded, nudging him back before eating her food silently once again.
Blinking at her for a moment, Chris and the others smiled nervously before continuing their conversation and enjoying the food, and once they were done, Chris and Gerald had a bit of a... Moment between them once the bill came, arguing with one another and playing tug of war with the bill as Servine looked around and lowered herself under the table in humiliation, Gardevoir tilting her head confused and sitting silently as the two made a commotion. Finally, they wound up ripping the bill in half, sitting silently across from one another and blinking at the half they each held in surprise. Both showing an expression as if in deep thought, they suddenly shot their hands up at the same time, shouting "split the bill!!" with a grin on their faces, Servine finally poking her head up from the table. "...Are you serious? Human males are so weird... And embarrassing..." she groaned as Gardevoir smiled, letting out a laugh as the two paid for the food together, causing them to look at her surprised. "You... Laughed... Feeling better?" Chris asked, taking a sip of his drink as she nodded. "Nice to hear... And feel such emotion coming from you... Feel so much energy coming from you too... I can tell you're... Happier... Its good... To be out with you again... Your heart... Feels like bird in sky now..." she responded, scratching her cheek and blushing with a smile, causing Chris to urk before letting out a sigh and shaking his head. "Y... Yeah... Whatever... Saying such weird stuff... Don't read me like that in public..." he told her, scowling with a slight blush before suddenly coughing on his drink. "D... Don't read me in private either!! N... No reading me at all!!" he shout, noticing people staring around them as he began glowing embarrassed, causing Gardevoir to laugh again as Gerald covered his mouth to avoid laughing as well, Servine simply rolling her eyes and shaking her head. "Stupid..." she muttered as Chris slumped with his head between his shoulders, groaning as Gardevoir pat him on the head.
Once the waiter brought back their receipt, the group left the restaurant and continued their trip through the city, heading towards the Millennium Mall as Chris looked over the large branch he got from the beach. "I'll have to buy a specific knife if I'm gonna carve this thing properly... So this trips gonna be pretty convenient." he chuckled, showing it off to Servine only for her to blink at it and shrug, allowing Gardevoir to feel it as well. "...Stick. Like... Sticks that much?" she asked, tilting her head confused. "Eh...? Ah... No. I mean... Uh... Y... You'll see!" he laughed embarrassed as Gardevoir jolt and slowly faced down, suddenly looking sad again. "Er... I... I mean um..." he responded as Servine sighed and shook her head. "Stuuuupid..." she told him once again. "And you told me that stuff was off limits... Now who's the cold one?" she asked, causing Chris to groan. "Tssss... Agh... I... I'm sorry... Seriously its just... It'll be really nice. I promise! I'll think of a way for you to... Um... Something... I mean..." he said, his voice fading into a mutter as he faced down as well, the two now sitting under a purple aura of gloom. "Oy oy... You two are such babies..." Servine told them as Gerald watched the two as well, letting out a sigh and shaking his head. Eventually, they reached the bridge leading to Castelia Island, the bounce causing Chris and Gardevoir to jolt as he looked around through the windows. "Wh... Woah... Pretty high up..." he muttered, looking out the window in surprise at all the shimmering water, glancing towards the island ahead of them as well. "Its like an island of diamonds... Surrounded by diamonds..." he said with a smile, Servine nodding with a giggle. "Indeed... Breathtaking place to say the least. It was a surprise for me as well at first. Then again, this whole city is rather inspiring." she nodded.
As the three talked about the island and city in general, Gardevoir once again sat in silence, slowly holding a hand up over her eyes and waving it, only to put it back down and quietly sigh, facing down and losing herself in her own world of thought. Giving Servine a high five in excitement, he gave Gardevoir a glance, smiling nervously with a bit of sweat on his face, reaching over and rubbing her on the head. "Come on now... Stop with the sadness... I promise to do what I can to make you have a good time too! Maybe we can find something nice to get you!" he grinned, causing Gardevoir to perk up for a moment before suddenly slumping again. "What point...? Can't see anything you get me... Can't see anywhere we go..." she responded. Blinking at her in surprise, none of them had ever seen Gardevoir acting so self conscious about her blindness to such a degree... "Gerald and Servine... Can show you lots... They see everything... I have nothing to show... Nowhere special to take... Because I haven't seen... Anything..." she sighed, causing the three to show a look of sadness themselves. "I was excited... You get to leave hospital finally... Still excited but... Sad I have nothing to show... They do... Not me..." she told him, slightly tearing up. "You're like this... Because of that...? THAT'S all...?" Chris asked. Facing up, she tilt her head in surprise, Gerald and Servine looking at him with the same look. "Seriously... We can have a good time and make memories with or without you having your sight... Being together is all that matters. All that should ever matter... As long as we can be close, why worry about the details?" he asked, shrugging and looking out one of the windows.
"Gardevoir... I've been in the hospital for two months... Stuck in a bed for the most part... But there wasn't a second I was sad about it because I had the two of you to spend time with. I couldn't move at all most of that time... And even though I'm out now, I still can't walk... But here I am as happy as ever. Did you think it was a waste of your time being with me the whole time I was bedridden?" he asked, causing Gardevoirs eyes to go wide before quickly shaking her head and waving her hands. "N... No!! Care about you!! Love you... Never be a waste of time..." she responded, facing down with a blush. Nodding with a smile, Chris gave her a nudge and poked her cheek. "Then there you go! I feel the same, and I'm sure these two do as well, right?" he asked, Gerald nodding with a chuckle. "Naturally! Any moment with the madam nearby is sure to be a thrill." he responded with a thumbs up, Servine looking at them and shrugging. "She's... Alright... Probably a lot better than anyone else I could have wound up traveling with... It would be rather boring without her to annoy." she smirked. Raising an eyebrow at her, Servine grinned in response and stuck her tongue out at Chris, making a "nyeeeeh!" noise as Gardevoir poked her fingers together. "Th... Thanks... Sorry for being a stick in mud..." she told them. Smiling at her, Chris put an arm around Gardevoir and held her against him, suddenly giving her a noogie. Flailing her arms, she begged loudly for Chris to stop, flushing brightly as she pushed herself away and covered her head in irritation from having her hair messed up, puffing her cheeks out and growling. "Heh heh... You're right Servine... She really IS pretty fun to bug..." he admitted with a grin as Gerald laughed and Servine nodded, giving him a thumbs up. Feeling for Chris, Gardevoir held his head in between her hands. "Fine then... See how you like..." she told him before suddenly jerking his head against her, giving him a noogie as well. Flailing his arms this time, it was Chris begging Gardevoir to stop as she grinned evilly, Servine shaking her head saying "You're both embarrassing..." as Gerald continued laughing.
Once they finally parked, everyone got out and headed towards the mall, Chris and Servine looking up at the massive size of it, seemingly reaching the sky. "Man... Seems like you would wind up in space going to the top of this thing... Can you really breathe way up there...?" Chris asked, blinking at Gerald in surprise. "Yes indeed! Lovely breeze too. Being so high, the smell of the city fades and nature graces you with its soothing aromas... A breathtaking garden awaits at the top as well. I'm sure madam Gardevoir will love it... She does have a soft spot for flora after all." he chuckled, causing Gardevoir to blush embarrassed. "Wh... What? Smell pretty... Flowers really soft too..." she replied. "I'll have to remember to get you some then..." Chris told her in a warm tone, causing Gardevoir to jolt and face away. "N... Not have to... Focus on you now. No more worry over me... Your day." she told him with a scowl. "Ha ha! No way! After all, you're helping push me. My arms would be killing me if it weren't for the extra help!" he reminded her, putting a hand on top of Gardevoirs as she held the handles of his chair. "B... Bah... St... Stop the sweetness..." she told him, unable to resist smiling as he chuckled and stretched his arms above him. "Good... Everybody is happy again... That makes me happy more than anything..." he grinned, causing the three around him to smile in response. Suddenly stopping, Gardevoir put her arms around Chris from behind, resting her chin on top of his head. Seeing this, Servine grinned and joined in, hopping onto his lap and sitting with a giggle, waving her tail. "That's my... Master..." Gardevoir told him lovingly, causing Chris to let out an "urk!!" and show an irritated look, only to sigh and smile nervously. "Yeah... He's a hopeless case, but he's our hopeless case." Servine laughed. Looking down at her with a scowl, Servine gave him a wink as Gerald pat him on the shoulder. "Good man Master Chris... Good man." he nodded. Looking around, crowds were watching them, countless swooning over the scene with couples suddenly cuddling one another around them. Humiliated by this, Chris suddenly shook them away from him, handing Servine to Gerald and quickly wheeling himself ahead of them with a glow on his face. "E... Enough!! Lets go already!!" he shout, the three standing and blinking in surprise before laughing loudly together, the crowd watching him speed off as well and saying "Aww... He's shy!!" in unison as he passed by.
Heading into the mall behind him, the group stood together in awe of everything around them, Gardevoir standing with a jolt once she heard the massive crowds within chatting from all directions. "Holy cow... You mean to tell me this thing has stores going all the way to the top...? How do they stay in business with so much competition in here?" he asked, wheeling himself forward as he saw floor after floor above them, a massive pillar in the center of the mall leading to the top to help support the structure. "Oh trust me... This mall is an absolute must for nearly every tourist in our region! Even residents can't resist coming here on a regular basis. A lack of business is the least of their worries... Rather a lack of supply!" Gerald laughed as Servine looked around at all the countless stores on the first floor alone. "My word... Every floor... Has this many locations...?" Servine asked, her heart racing with excitement as she grinned from ear to ear. "Indeed madam! Stores... Restaurants... Endless varieties to choose from!" he grinned, causing her eyes to light up as she giggled, looking at store after store and thrashing her tail about rapidly. "Servine... Having greedy thoughts..." Gardevoir suddenly replied, causing Servine to let out an "Urk!!" of her own and laugh nervously. "N... Nonsense!! I'm merely impressed with the shocking capabilities humans have!!" she told her before facing away embarrassed. "Hey hey... Its fine! We're all here to have a good time. If you girls wanna be a little greedy, its fine by me... I'll gladly get you two some nice stuff! I owe you after how well you took care of me in the hospital!" he laughed. Suddenly pouncing on his lap, Chris let out an "oomph!!" as Servine gave him as big a hug as she could, jumping back off and roaming around them. "Lets see... There first? No no... There!! Ah!! Those sweets look incredible!! Ohh!! Accessories!!" she rant, causing Chris and Gerald to smile nervously as Gardevoir shook her head. Noticing this, Chris pat her on the arm as she stood next to him. "Let her enjoy herself... I expect you to do the same so lighten up and show some enthusiasm!" he told her, holding a thumbs up in the air and letting her feel it with her hand, causing her to smile and nod. "Okay... I try too then." she told him, suddenly jumping in front of him. "Go there!! No go there!! Want go there!!" she said, pointing in random directions such as towards the bathroom, the exit, and the trash area as Servine froze and scowled at her. "Oy oy... Just who do you think your imitating?!" she barked as Gardevoir laughed in response. "You call others embarrassing. You most embarrassing!" she replied, grinning as Servine let out a "hrmph!" and made her way back to Chris, sitting on his lap in silence.
"Haaah... Some things will never change..." Chris chuckled before they continued onward. Making their way through countless stores and floors, Servine found herself covered in various things like ribbons and other trinkets, also obtaining a new mirror she held and looked herself over with constantly, making various poses and expressions as she admired herself on Chris's lap. "Oh heavens... Just when you thought there wasn't supposed to be anything beyond perfection... I just break all the rules, don't I?" she giggled. "Ah... Ha ha... You're something alright." Chris told her, giving her a rub on the head as Gerald smiled nervously. "Madam Servine reminds me of my mistress..." he replied, scratching his cheek unsure of whether the feeling was good or bad... "Oh come now... Its only natural to feel as though you're in the presence of royalty when close to me! I can't help being lovely!" she laughed, scooping up her ribbons and accessories with an excited giggle, lost within her own little paradise. Letting out a sigh, Chris shook his head and laughed, unable to resist admitting she was cute, even during such a slightly spoiled moment... Looking around, they continued progressing through the mall until Chris suddenly put the breaks on his wheels, causing Gardevoir, who was once again pushing him, to walk into it from behind and let out an "oomph!!" before rubbing her stomach. "Ouch ouch... What wrong...?" she asked, tilting her head confused as Chris looked wide eyed towards a store full of instruments, causing Servine and Gerald to look at him with intrigued expressions as well. "That's... It..." he muttered.

"Master Chris...? Is everything alright...?" Gerald asked, putting a hand on his shoulder. "THAT'S IT!!" Chris shout, shooting his arm out and pointing towards the store causing both Gerald and Gardevoir to jump back in surprise along with several customers around them, sweating as Servine nearly fell off his lap from the startle. "G... Good heavens boy! You could give a man a heart attack doing that!!" Gerald replied, letting out a sigh as Gardevoir and Servine continued showing bewildered expressions. "Instruments... That's it!! Its the perfect thing!!" he grinned, suddenly making them follow him inside as he looked around excitedly. "Are... You okay...? Scaring me... A little..." Gardevoir told him as Gerald and Servine browsed around the store themselves. "I'm great! Oh man... I knew we would find the perfect thing..." he chuckled before wheeling himself around, having Gardevoir stay close to him as he went through everything the store had. "I remembered... You like music... Right?" he asked, causing Gardevoir to jolt and flush. "Y... You remembered... That...?" she asked, facing away and poking her fingers embarrassed. "Yeah... You would sing sometimes and pat my head... You were worried about getting something you couldn't see... So I'm going to get you something that doesn't need sight to enjoy! Something you can take with you and have a use for no matter where we go!" he laughed, causing Gardevoir to face him with a surprised look. Trying out instrument after instrument, ranging from triangles to flutes, even a piano and a harp, Gardevoir kept a constant smile on her face, laughing with every instrument she tried out. Taking their time, Chris let Gardevoir experiment as much as she wanted until they figured out which she liked the most, a smile showing on Chris's face as well. "Good... She's really enjoying herself too..." he thought to himself.
By the time they finished, Gardevoir left with her very own flute and guitar, each being one of the finest the shop had to offer, leaving the owner awe struck as he waved them farewell due to his most extravagant stock being bought just for a Pokemon... A "who IS that kid...?!" look on his face, just as those at the hospital had shown when they met him as well... With her guitar against her back, held close by a strap across the front of her body, and her flute in its own fancy case, Gardevoir held it close to her with one arm while holding onto one of the wheelchairs handles for guidance as Chris rolled along with the brightest smile you could see, causing Chris and Gerald, even Servine herself to smile at her expression in response. "You know... You're a pain... But it truly is nice to see you like that..." Servine told her in a shockingly earnest tone, causing Chris and Gerald to look at her in surprise. "Wh... What...? St... Stop it..." she replied, looking away embarrassed and returning to focusing on herself in the mirror instead with a scowl. As they walked, Gardevoir slowly found herself overwhelmed... Quietly calling for Gerald, he looked back at her with a "hm?" as he walked next to Chris before noticing tears streaming from her eyes as she faced down. Wanting to hide herself behind him, Gerald picked up on the silent request with a nod, smiling warmly before getting Chris's attention, offering to push him for a while. Giving his thanks, the two began talking as Gardevoir clutched the back of Geralds vest, touching her forehead against his back as she began sobbing... Quietly whispering "thank... you... thank... you... master..." over and over...
Eventually, the three made it to the top of the mall after riding elevator after elevator along the way as they browsed shop after shop, stopping at random booths to get treat after treat to much on... And sure enough, just as Gerald said, it was a breathtaking sight... Filled with flowers, growing both from the soil and the countless bushes around them, the trees were filled with berries as well, catching the attention of the countless Pokemon others had brought with them. "Incredible... Something like this... Way up here on top of a building... And you weren't kidding... That sunset..." Chris muttered, awe struck as he looked at the view around them. Standing beside him, Gardevoir was back to smiling happily once again, mentioning how good the area smelled as they walked around. "Yeah... That's true... It really does smell better up here... Its weird because in most cities you have smog to some degree... But here... The higher you are, the cleaner the air..." Chris replied as he took a deep breath himself, letting out a sigh. Making their way towards the edge of the building, the group watched the sunset together, save Gardevoir who was busy rubbing her flutes case and the guitar strap along her chest endearingly, taking a deep breath of the fresh air blowing past them with a giggle. "This truly was a delightful day... Thank you for everything... Especially when it should have been all about you instead... Sorry the two of us couldn't be angels for you..." Servine suddenly told Chris, looking up at him with a nervous smile as she remained on his lap. "Also... I know I'm not very good at showing how I feel towards people... In nice ways at least... My apologies for that but... It really was nice having all of us out and about finally. Gerald is a respectable human, granted, but without you... How to put it..." she paused, looking at the sunset. "...I suppose the sun itself just didn't seem as bright without you alongside us... I apologize for getting caught up in the spending spree too... You know me." she laughed nervously. Looking down at her, Chris smiled and nodded. "Yeah... Your welcome..." he said while rubbing her on the head.
Looking back at Gardevoir, the sunset reflected in her dim eyes, causing Chris to show a sudden sad expression as he looked over the city. "Hey... Gardevoir...?" he called, suddenly causing her to snap out of her moment with her new instruments and stand straight. "Y... Yes! H... Here..." she responded in an embarrassed tone, holding her hand out and feeling for one of the arms on his wheelchair as she stood next to him. Remaining silent for a moment, Chris looked at the sunset and around the vast city below, its rivers and the ocean, taking it all in as Gardevoir tilt her head concerned. "Y... Yes...?" she repeated. Looking up at her once more and into her eyes, Chris smiled and put his hand on hers. "I've never gone back on my word... Have I? Everything I've said I would do... I've done, right?" he asked, getting a nod from her in response. "Yes... Like that about you too." she smiled. Going silent for a moment, Chris clutched her hand tightly, causing her to face down at him surprised. "I promise... I'll find a way for you to see... I promise..." he told her. Jolting with wide eyes, Gardevoir clutched her flutes case tightly against her with her free arm once again, nodding in response with tears in her eyes. "Then... Can't wait... To see you... Promise... You be first thing I see...?" she replied, sniffing as Chris looked at her. "Yeah... And I'll be smiling for you when it happens too! That's another promise!" he told her, holding up her hand and pressing his thumbs up against it. Deciding it was time for them to leave and figure out where they would be staying his first night out of the hospital, Chris made sure to gather some berries for Servine and flowers for Gardevoir, letting Gerald carry her flute as she enjoyed their scent and rubbed her face against them as they made their way back down the building

Once they went past the exit however, the group suddenly heard something like that of a scream, causing those around them to freeze and look around in surprise. "My word! What on Earth was that gruesome sound?" Gerald said, looking around with wide eyes as the others did the same. "Sounded... Like one of our kind..." Servine replied, slithering her way on top of Chris's shoulders and looking around as well. "...Whatever it came from, I didn't like the sound of..." Chris paused as they heard another scream. With her eyes and horns suddenly beginning to glow, Gardevoir stepped in front of them and squat down with a hand on the ground. "Come from... Over there... Can sense... Someone... With Pokemon..." Gardevoir told the group, standing and pointing in the direction it came from. "Sense... Pain... Lots of pain... And getting worse..." she told them. Hearing another scream, this time even louder as if someone were being murdered, Chris quickly began wheeling himself in the direction Gardevoir pointed out, catching the others by surprise as Servine fell off the back of his wheelchair, luckily caught by Gerald as they watched him speed off. "M... Master Chris?! Please, hold on!!" Gerald shout, reaching out as Gardevoir jolt and quickly waved her hands around. "Chris?! Where go!? What happening?!!" Gardevoir shout, trying to find him in a sudden state of terror. "Stop him!! Do something!! Going to get hurt!!!" Gardevoir screamed as Gerald held her, only for Gardevoir to shake him roughly. "Catch Chris!!! CATCH CHRIS!!!" she begged as he looked around, only to realize he was already out of sight. Taking one of her hands and picking up Servine, Gerald ran in the same direction with the two as quickly as he could, looking around trying to find where Chris went desperately. Wheeling himself along faster and faster, Chris finally found where the screams were coming from, seeing what looked like a young man holding a Buneary up by the arm, punching it mercilessly as a trainer stood watching in horror, his own Pokemon hiding behind him.
"H... Hey man, just quit!! You win alright?!" the trainer said, trying to coax the young man into leaving his Buneary alone. "I'm sick of you!! You won't do anything I say!! You even got me put in jail you piece of crap!!" the young man yelled, continuing to beat the sobbing and screaming Buneary, suddenly throwing it onto the concrete causing the trainer and his Pokemon to turn pale and quickly run away. "C... Crazy!! This guy is crazy!!!" the trainer screamed. "Trash!!! Trash!!! Trash!!!" he yelled, seemingly blinded by his rage as he stomped on the Buneary over and over as it bled. "I don't need you!!! Who wants a Pokemon that only gets stronger with friendship?!! Pokemon aren't friends... Friendship isn't something Pokemon deserve!!! What, you think you're a human being?!!" he screamed, kicking the Buneary away before lifting it back up by the ears as it sobbed, unable to scream anymore. "Evolve... Evolve... EVOLVE OR I'LL KILL YOU!!!" he screamed, suddenly grabbing it by the throat and strangling it with a wicked grin. "That's how you make a Pokemon evolve!!! You command them!! Slaves obey their orders!!! Do you want to live?!!!" he screamed in its face. Watching this, Chris was wide eyed and pale as a ghost, trembling from head to toe and frozen with tears welling up in his eyes. "You... You're the same guy... I remember you... Human... You... You aren't human..." he muttered as the young man punched it once again. "Useless! Useless!! Useless!!!" he screamed louder and louder, and next thing Chris knew, he was watching Buneary fly through the air, landing in the highway with a weak cry before laying limply on its side. "THAT'S how you get rid of a useless Pokemon!!" he shout. Starting to walk away, the trainer stopped once he noticed an enormous 18-wheeler heading right for the Buneary, the driver seemingly distracted as it sped towards the battered Pokemon in the street. Facing the Buneary, it looked at the young man and tried raising its arm, sobbing with a whimper before the young man started laughing at it, pointing and mocking the Buneary in satisfaction as the truck sped closer and closer. Seeing this, the Buneary seemingly gave up an let its arm flop down, laying silently on its side as Chris started sobbing and shook his head. Throughout the event, countless people had been watching from the windows of the countless buildings as well and from nearby, recording the whole thing as it went down with many making calls, likely to the police...
From behind, Gerald and the others finally found him, and just as they ran in his direction and called out, Chris looked back, causing Gerald to freeze as he and Servine saw the tears streaming from his eyes before suddenly rolling himself as quickly as he could towards the Buneary, using the slope of the pavement to his advantage to further speed him along. "Master Chris!!! What are you doing?!!!" Gerald screamed before running towards him once again. "Stop!!! Stop stop stop!!!" Servine screamed as well as Gardevoir stumbled along behind Gerald. "What happening?!! What's he doing?!!!" she asked, begging for an answer as they tried to reach him. Rolling down the slope faster and faster, Chris suddenly flew right past the young man, causing him to stop laughing and look at Chris as if time had frozen. "You... You're that bastard..." the young man muttered with a shocked expression as Chris ignored him and made his way onto the highway. Noticing him, the driver finally paid attention and honked his horn loudly, halting his breaks causing the truck to seemingly scream as its tires smoked along the pavement. Standing at the side of the highway, Gerald and Servine both reached out screaming Chris's name in terror as Gardevoir desperately called out as well, all three sobbing as the truck swerved, trying to avoid him only to send the entire thing barreling towards him all the more. As he reached the Buneary, Chris hurled himself out of the wheelchair and grabbed it, and next thing they knew, the truck slammed itself past where he was, causing smoke to explode everywhere as a sound as if a bomb had suddenly exploded echoed throughout the city. Seeing this, the people around them, and continuing to gather by the second, gasped as Gerald suddenly fell to his knees in horror, Servine falling off his shoulders in shock and sitting next to him, trembling as Gardevoirs eyes went wide, standing silently as she too trembled from head to toe.
"What... Happened...? Where... Chris...? Don't tell... He..." she asked, her own terror showing in the tone of her voice. As the smoke continued bellowing into the sky, all they could barely see was the top of the truck... Shaking off his emotions as best he could, Gerald quickly ran into the street, trying to find Chris as the driver weakly stumbled out of the smoke, coughing and wheezing before sitting on the sidewalk. Searching around the site, Gerald froze once he found Chris's wheelchair in ruins between the trucks tires, mangled beyond repair. "Master... Chris...?" he muttered, pulling out the wheelchairs remains and looking it over in shock. Shaking off her own fear, Servine stood and brought Gardevoir up to the scene, freezing once she saw the wheelchairs remains in Geralds hands as he stood and faced them, looking down with tears streaming from his eyes and his teeth grit. "I... I'm s... I'm so sorry..." he told the two, beginning to sob even worse as Servine looked at the twisted metal. "Ch... Chris...? He's..." she replied, and suddenly began to wobble before passing out on the street. Smelling the smoke and hearing Gerald sobbing, along with hearing Servine pass out, Gardevoir put her arms out and felt around, touching Gerald before gliding her hands down his arms and feeling the metal in his hands. "Gerald... Where's... Chris...? Where's our... Master...?" she asked, her glazed pupils trembling in terror as tears welled up in her eyes more and more. Shaking his head, not wanting to give a response, Gardevoir suddenly yanked the metal away from him and tossed it aside, grabbing him by the vest. "Tell me!! TELL ME!!!" she screamed as Gerald bit his lip and shook his head once again.
"I'm s... I'm sorry... Chris... I couldn't stop him... He..." Gerald responded, pausing before falling to his hands and knees once again in front of her. "He raced onto the street... And a truck... He..." Gerald tried to say, only to get choked up once again and sob as Gardevoir stood, frozen with her hands out as if still holding onto him. "Chris... Was hit...?" she said in horror, suddenly letting her arms dangle by her sides as her tears finally began streaming as well. "He... Just get out of hospital... Now he... Gone...?" she said before falling to her knees herself. "Failure... Failure... I'm... Failure..." she sobbed, facing the sky and biting her lip. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm... Sorry..." she wept, clutching the guitar strap around her. Continuing to face the sky, a sudden flashback of their time at the mall came to mind, his final promise... Remembering his words and how he held her hand, countless other flashbacks raced through her mind of their time together as well, and is if every hinge in her mind suddenly snapped, Gardevoir suddenly let out the loudest scream of her life... One that could be heard for miles...
"Master... Master... MASTEEEEEERRRRR!!!!!"
