#1 of Quelchion IV Chronicles
One day, a mother squirrel was minding her own business drinking from a stream in the forest. She was making sure she can produce enough milk for her offspring. But a relentless hawk thwarted her innocent plans. It caught her, and lifted her up in the air. As she struggled, she managed to free herself, but when she landed on the ground it was too late. She was already dead from the talon wounds. Two male squirrels, who in the past had fought to mate with her, gave up and decided to have gay butt sex with each other. In a way, they were both glad she died because they became very happy together.

Six months later...
All of the baby squirrels had gotten mature enough to leave Destini, except for one runt. Earlier, the owners of the animal sanctuary had named him Chipper. He just wouldn't leave Destini. "It's beautiful here," said Destini. Her voice was like that of a kindly middle-aged woman, with a deep tone.
"I like it too!" said Chipper. His voice was youngish and high-toned.
"I'll give you two some privacy," said Mileena. "As you... explore."
Mileena left, knowing what will happen next.
"Chipper," said Destini. "There is something I need to tell you."
"Ok," said Chipper.
"I'm in heat," she said. "I need to mate."
"With me?" asked Chipper.
"Of course," Destini said orgasmically.
"But how...?" asked Chipper.
"You can figure it out," said Destini. "First, to get us both in the mood, we must smell each other's poops."

Then Mileena looked down to the ground at Chipper, who was standing up with his arms to his chest. "Congratulations," she said holding her arms like she's cradling a baby. "You're gonna be a daddy!" Chipper fainted when hearing this news.
"Aw, poor guy," said Destini. "I guess he needs more rest now that he knows he'll be a dad. Since my mother had him rest in her vagina last time, I think it's my turn to have him."

"I suppose I can believe anything after what I just saw," said Cindy.
"Chipper is going to be a daddy, and Destini and Teilani are pregnant," said Mileena.

"Actually," said Mileena, "Chipper got the mares pregnant."
Cindy was speechless.
"Where I'm from, any two species can breed," said Mileena.
"That's very interesting," said Cindy. "I never wanted children of my own, just animals."
"Do you suppose you'd be interested in sharing some genes with a non-human?" asked Mileena.
"That's something to think about," said Cindy. "I have some male animals that I've joked about having babies with."
"It doesn't have to be a joke anymore," said Mileena. "Come through the portal to Quelchion IV, and bring one of your animals."
So Cindy went back into her house, and brought out her ferret, Bandit. "He always sleeps with me," said Cindy. "And he's intact."

Cindy looked to the other animals and said, "Destini, Teilani, Chipper, I'm going to go through the portal with Bandit. Be good!"

"Is there a cost to all this?" asked Cindy.
"Only that you accept the fact that you are now pregnant with your ferret's baby," said Mileena. "You can help us if you wish."
"Okay, I'll help," said Cindy.
Seven months later (the approximate median between a squirrel's and horse's gestation period)...
Destini and her mother Teilani were in their barn, getting ready to give birth. "I guess it's time, mother," said Destini.
"It sure is," said Teilani. "I can feel my baby kicking."
Mileena and Cindy were there to witness the birth, as well as Chipper, nervously. Cindy was holding Fenton, her 5-week old anthro-ferret son she had with Bandit.
Both of the mares lay down. Destini was giving birth first. When the baby came out, Mileena said, "Congratulations, it‘s a girl!." When Teilani gave birth, Mileena congratulated her on her boy. They were easy births, because the father was a small fraction of a percent the weight of the mothers.
The newborn squorses, squirrel/horse hybrids, were larger than their father. They were fully furred, but their eyes were still shut. Each foot contained three toes, each with a hooked hoof. Normally, when a horse foal is born, it can get up immediately and suckle it's mother. But Destini and Teilani had to lay down to allow them to suckle, because the baby squorses were too small to reach the nipples.
"I guess it's time to name them," said Destini. "I'll name mine Stella."
"And I'll name mine Tucker," said Teilani.
Chipper proudly sat between his two mates as his nervousness subsided. "I guess those names would work," he said.
"Hey, do you hear that?" asked Cindy, "I hear neighing coming from outside the barn."
"I believe I know what they want," said Destini.
Mileena looked outside the barn, and saw hundreds of mares waiting in line. "Wow, what are you girls here for?" asked Mileena.
"We're here for Chipper," said the first mare.
"We want him to breed us," said another.
