Bat Travels: A Friendly Ride
Hm, unhappy with a lot of the stuff that I've been doing lately that'll be coming up. I think I've already solved the problem, but the backlog remains unchanged. Either way, I hope you all enjoy what is to come~
A spiraling mountain trail ended at a path leading into a forest. The rocks near the entrance of the forest were tall and seated upon one of those rocks was a ginger-furred bat wearing nothing but a long poncho that trailed down between her legs and a bag hanging over her shoulder. She sat there holding a guitar between her wings, clawed digits plucking the strings carefully as she opened her maw with eyes closed to let out a merry little tune. Theresa had been sitting on that rock for quite some time. She had been thinking of where she wanted to go, and how she was going to get there while resting her sore feet. She could head deeper into the forest, or perhaps up the mountain to see where that would lead her. Either way, according to the map both directions would take quite a bit before finding a town. At the very least she wasn't too hungry and had some coin to pay for food along the way should she meet any traveling merchants. If only her songs bought her just a bit more she could have afforded to steal a ride on a carriage or with a caravan, but instead, here she was on the lonesome road about to walk along her own way. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Maybe she'd find something interesting along the way, or maybe she'd fall flat on her freckled face from exhaustion, either way, there was no point in overthinking it. With a smile, she stopped her tune and hopped off the rock. Bangs of fluff flopped just over her left eye as she set her guitar over her back before stretching out wide with her purple eyes opening to look around. It was time to get walking, or so she thought. At that moment, she heard the sound of wheels on dirt, her ear twitching as she turned to the mountain pass.
At first, it was only one set of wheels, but then another and another and soon she could spot a group of carts and wagons approaching drawn by bison and other heavyset animals. This was her chance for a free ride and to save her legs from popping! At the front of the caravan, there were plenty of guards holding spears and other nasty little weapons. When they saw her waving them down, they all began calling out to the group of carts and wagons and one by one they began to stop. Just as they stopped before her, she was already speaking her piece, "Good day boys! How's it going? Fine, I'm guessing? Well, grand. See, I'm looking for a ride if you'll have me and feed me. Of course, I'll be willing to pay or work for my way and I'd certainly like to add a song or two to the journey to make it more fun."
The wolf-like lupin at the front with the reigns snorted and looked to one of the guards, "Guess it wouldn't hurt? Says she'll pay."
The guard responded, "Yeah, but her voice might be sour instead of sweet and do you really want that?"
"You could be right about that, bat's small but she might have a big screechy voice."
With a bored gaze, Theresa stood there with her arm-wings slumped. Of course, these idiots wouldn't be the sorts to appreciate music. Well, at the very least she could prove them wrong. Taking the guitar from her back, she began played a soft melody and opening her mouth to let out a pretty little tune, something simple for their simple minds.
Their ears perked and their brows raised as they looked to her. Each of the lupin appraised her before looking back at one another. She stopped her song as they began talking amongst themselves. That had changed their minds quickly enough. Now she'd just need to hope the price wasn't too steep, or that they suspected her of anything.
The frontmost guard was the first to respond. He was broad of shoulder and wore hard leathers. He offered his paw, "Welcome on then. You'll get a seat towards the back for free, but you'll have to pay for meals. How much coin y'got?"
She was glad for the free ride, but she could have used a free meal too. Rummaging through her bag, she took out three coins and tossed them into the guard's paw. He snorted and looked over the coins, "Huh, Singing don't pay too much do it?"
Theresa's ears folded back as she responded, "Rub it in big fella why don't yah. Like I said, I'm willing to work and if anything I can last a bit without food in the back. I'll just sleep it off."
For a moment, the guard looked at her with a familiar glint in his eyes, but he shrugged and waved her off, "Hurry on back or we'll leave you behind."
Theresa smiled just a bit and gave the guard a wink before walking, her hips swaying as she made her way to the back. Certainly she'd have to think about what to do, she couldn't just go days without a meal, that wouldn't do, and of course, there was another thing to consider. A caravan of this size must have plenty of people with pouches lined with coin and supplies aplenty. She could stuff her bag with a few supplies and a bit of coin if she could get away with it, all she'd have to do was gather the guards for a little song. She had an idea of exactly how she was going to do that and all she needed to do was wait for that thirsty little guard dog to pay her a visit.
As she reached the back of the caravan, she hopped into the back of the wagon and settled herself with one leg drawn up on the inside and the other hanging off of the edge just in time for the whole caravan to start moving. With her guitar out, she began to strum a few chords, eyes closed and a smile on her face. All she had to do now, was wait.
Theresa was toying with her guitar in the back with her leg swinging to and fro as the wagon bumped about something fierce. Every time it hit a rock she'd hop up just a bit from where she sat, but other than that she hummed to herself while playing her guitar. She'd never get any sleep on this bumpy ride, so why not play a little instead? She figured that eventually, she'd see that guard dog come on by to check on her, and certainly, she wasn't wrong. Soon enough the same lupin who had addressed her up at the front and claimed that her voice might not be good appeared walking along the side of the wagon she was sitting in. She gave him a sideways glance and turned her nose up at him, that was until she saw he held a small bowl in paw full of red shiny apples. She felt her stomach grumble and she nearly stumbled out of the back of the wagon from leaning forward, so much for trying to play it cool.
"Bat. I brought you something. Old man driving at the front thought you looked ratty."
Theresa coughed, "Ratty? I'll have you know I take pride in my legs and hips."
"Take it."
Theresa blinked at the stretched out paw that held the bowl. Carefully, she took the bowl and set it in her lap to take an apple up and look it over, "So what's the catch? I don't really have coin for this y'know? And I doubt what I paid you was enough for anything."
The guard snorted, "No payment needed. We've got plenty to go around and the folk appreciate the songs. Keeps morale high and all that."
"So like I said, what's the catch big guy?"
The guard shrugged, "Not used to trusting strangers huh? Just eat and be happy bat. You might have pretty legs, but your stomach is flat and rumbling."
Theresa felt her cheeks flush and her eyes trail down to the apple. Truthfully, she was expecting to have to seduce her way to food before betraying the caravan, but now she just felt awkward. She took a bite of the apple and savored the fact that it was a juicy one. When she swallowed down her first bite she looked over at the lupin and smiled a bit, "Thanks...Y'wanna tell me your name, big guy?"
"Dun"
"Done with what?" Said Theresa through a bite of apple.
The lupin answered with a growl, "No, my name is Dun."
With an apple in mouth, she waved him off and set her guitar to the side. She took the apple from her maw and chuckled, "Yeah? Are you done being nice to me now that I've made these jokes?"
Dun raised a brow and to her surprise smiled, "Yer an annoying bat, but I appreciate the teasing. Not much humor to be had guarding merchants."
"That so? It pay a lot though I guess?"
Dun snorted, "More than singing to the trees."
Theresa huffed, "My songs are given to more than just the trees I'll have you know and the trees love my music."
"I like what I've been hearing too. You're a pretty voice and handy with that instrument. You already know my name, what's yours?"
Theresa sighed and leaned back, "Feed me and you think you've taken me out to a dinner date huh? Next, you'll want me to warm your bed."
She rolled her eyes, but grinned as she saw the visible fluster on the lupin's face. He was cute. He was strong and heavyset, but he also had soft blue eyes and deep chocolate fur. She'd warm his bed if he asked, but perhaps he was too shy to ask so maybe she should take the initiative herself. Truthfully, she had originally planned to seduce the lupin for a bit of food, but now she found herself just wanting to give him a big hug and a kiss on the snout.
When he recovered from her little remark, the lupin grunted, "Just your name will do."
Theresa giggled, "Really? You get off on that? All right big guy. Well, you can call me Theresa. Resa if you want to be annoying, Thera if you want it short, and just Theresa usually."
The lupin grabbed at his chin, his floppy ears raising as he sounded out her name, "Theresa huh? Pretty name...Say...I did think of something to ask for in return for that food."
Theresa raised her brow. She had just finished the first apple and wasn't sure what the guard dog would ask of her, but she listened intently.
"A song to keep my legs moving."
Theresa giggled, "Really? You want a marching song? I gotta say, I don't know many of those, but I think I can keep you moving big guy."
Dun responded with a chuckle and he returned his eyes forward past the wagon. Theresa set the bowl and the rest of the apples next to her somewhere safe and took up her guitar. She licked her lips and thought of a certain song to sing, perhaps, perhaps it would seem a little silly, but she decided on a love song. Very slowly, she began to pluck at the strings of her guitar taking her time to set the tune before she began to sing. She shut her eyes as she simply let herself get lost in the song and the music. She felt good, it was nice not to have to steal for her own survival. Theresa had so rarely found herself in a situation where travelers were willing to share their wealth with her without her having to literally get on her knees sometimes. It was nice, and so her song was sung with an extra bit of effort, and extra bit of love for the kind caravan who had given her a free ride and something nice to eat.
The journey was a slow one, though, it was made bearable by good conversation and music. When the sun started to fall over the horizon, the caravan stopped at the side of the dirt road and began setting up camp. Folk were nice enough to her. They told her to sit aside and let them work even though she was willing to help. The more she mingled among the caravan, around both the merchant's and guards, the more she felt bad that she had been planning to rob these people blind. A little spell from her lips would have seen them sleeping right now since they were gathered so close working together, but she didn't have the heart for it anymore. Instead, she sat by playing her guitar and watching people work around the camp. Eventually, they built a fire and she was even asked to join to give a bit of song for the weary workers to rest their ears and legs too. Happily, she complied with their requests and sang and played as much as they desired until the workers and merchants began going back to their wagons and carts one by one. The guards stayed behind to watch for any danger in the night and she stayed with them playing her music, though, she kept her voice quiet as to not wake any who were sleeping.
One of the guards, a rat who seemed intent on drinking his weight in something strong was the first to speak to her, "So, girly. Where did you come from?"
Theresa had her eyes closed as she played her guitar and answered, "Hmmm, none of your business...But if you have to know. Somewhere between Countres and Volcus."
Another guard continued the questioning, "The edge eh? What're you doin' so deep in Countres then?"
She shrugged and brought one leg up over the other, "What, want my life story?"
Dun broke the sudden silence that hit the camp, "Sure."
With a brow raised she sighed and played a simple chord and then a few notes to follow for her story, "You see, I lived with my family near the border between Countres and Volcus. We were poor as anything and the town itself wasn't too rich either, but we got by together. I learned how to play the guitar from an old man who worshiped the goddess. Taught me everything I know, even a little bit of magic...And he raised me after my parents passed away from disease. I was always with my nose stuck in a book or two about adventures and I wanted to get out of that little town. Old man didn't mind...Old man even set me up with a bit of coin and my own guitar to go about my business. Really, that is all you'll get out of me."
The guards remained quiet at that one. They all stared at her until she looked up to notice their gazes, "What? You asked a question right?"
The drunk rat grunted, "So...Where you headed then?"
"Dunno. Might find myself in another town, another place singing and offering services for coin, y'know the usual stuff."
The guards looked at each other as if they were silently discussing something before Dun spoke up, "Y'could come with us for a while. We could use a bit of lively entertainment."
Theresa giggled, "I charge extra for more than one partner at once."
Dun growled, "Not that. Your songs."
Theresa smiled just a bit, "I know. Maybe I'll stick with you guys for a little bit, you seem nice enou--." An ear perked up as she heard heavy steps approaching.
She stopped playing her guitar and the other's soon perked their ears to listen in on what she heard. They got up in a hurry and so did she. They grabbed their crossbows and began calling out for the people in the wagon to get up. As the guards and Theresa moved out of the way, the campfire was peppered with bolts. Theresa took shelter behind one of the wagons and she poked her head out to peer into the darkness. She couldn't see anything beyond the trees and cursed silently as she saw her new friends firing off into the darkness before hiding back behind their own cover. Finally, two of the bandits showed themselves, but only to be skewered by Dun, his spear taking one before jabbing the other in the neck. Again, more bolts came flying towards them and the guards had to hide. People were rousing from their sleep and all around she could hear the sounds of panic, a panic that worsened as fire suddenly swallowed the wagons.
Theresa squeaked and hopped up. There were people panicking and the guards were struggling to find where the rest of the bandits were coming from. Theresa breathed out and calmed herself. She took her guitar up with both hands and she closed her eyes to begin playing a song. She focused, focused on the fire around her, focused on the sound of the flames crackling in the air and began channeling her magic through her guitar. The sound carried through into the fire and the flames turned into a serpent that circled her body before being flung into the distance where she heard the bolts coming from.
The guards shouted as they saw the fire sailing over them and into the darkness. From afar they heard the yells of the bandits as their fire was used against them. Theresa ran to where the guards were and huffed out, "What are you idiots waiting for, you can see where the fire is right? Shoot!"
The guards looked at her for a moment before turning and firing off their crossbows into the flame. They could see shapes running from the flames, figures that were caught by their bolts. The bandits that were left alive started to retreat. Theresa watching with her eyes and ears to make sure that they were leaving for good. When nothing could be seen and nothing could be heard, the guards and Theresa settled and began checking around for those who were injured. Theresa helped as she could with those who had been burned or caught with enemy crossbow fire. Healing wasn't her strong suit when it came to magic, but she could soothe wounds and help with stopping any nasty bleeding. Even with her help, they had to bury three people, but at the very least they had won the night
When all was settled, it was her and the guards seated around the fire again quietly. The guards were out like lights except for Dun who had taken the first watch, but after something like that, she couldn't sleep so she moved to sit down next to Dun with a small huff.
The lupin mumbled as he settled back against the packs that he had set to act as a cushion, "More than just a simple songbird hrm?"
Theresa rolled her eyes but smiled, "I'm a bat, but I thought I told you I learned a little magic from that old man."
"Didn't think it was anything like that."
"Eh, he was a sort of eccentric sort...I don't want to talk too much about him though. He taught me what he knows and taught it well, but I enjoy just playing music more for the heck of it."
Dun nodded, "I can see that...So why aren't you sleeping?"
She sighed and flopped against him, "Hearts still pumping something fierce you know? I can't help it. Scary battles don't happen too often in my life. I try to avoid those."
"So why didn't you run?"
Theresa snorted, "Pfft, what? And abandon you sorry boys to your demise? I owed you for the food."
Dun chuckled and brought a paw up to ruffle through the fluff on her head, "Well, thanks. Our lives are worth more than a few apples so now I owe ya."
She huffed and shut her eyes. Her cheeks were flushed now with embarrassment. She had planned on robbing this man and his crew, but now she was nestled up against him after having saved his hide. With a sigh she turned over and moved so her head was on his lap, "Ah, whatever. Think nothing of it...Just find a way to help me sleep."
From where she laid, she looked up at him with big crystalline purple eyes and her long tongue sticking out. The canine creature stared down at her with a brow raised, "And how do I do that?" He asked carefully.
Theresa rolled her eyes, "Sex. I'll even let you knot me, big guy."
Dun coughed, "Forward..."
Theresa giggled, "Come on, you can't be that dense. I was willing to even take you to the hilt for a bit of food."
"You can't be serious..."
"Absolutely! But after you gave me all of that for free, I was just flirting because I wanted to. Are you dense then?"
Dun grumbled, "Not really...Just didn't think it was appropriate."
Theresa brought herself up to her feet, "Oh come on, you're a hot-blooded guard on the road. You're supposed to be grabby and rough in bed. You're supposed to listen to my songs and try to sweep me off my feet without a care of what I think."
"Is that what you're used to?"
Theresa shrugged, "A bit."
"Is that what you want right now?"
Theresa opened one eye to give the other a sly look, "Maybe...Strip and find out big boy."
Dun chuckled, "Here I was going to treat you like a respectable woman."
Theresa giggled but remained silent. She watched as he suddenly began to remove his trousers. She grinned and hugged herself as she revealed his fat sheath and heavy balls. He wasn't erect just yet, but she could see the red tip of his cock poking out from the fuzzy sheath. He didn't even wait until his trousers were around his thighs until he yanked her atop of his lap. Theresa gasped as she was tugged onto his body, the tip of his cock poking between her legs as she nestled atop of him. His mouth then moved to plant firm pecks and kisses against her neck, kisses that had her shivering and letting out little huffs of air.
There he whispered to her neck, "This is what you wanted right?"
Theresa trembled as she felt his cock growing between her legs and up against her crotch. She gasped as she felt his mouth suddenly closed over hers, his tongue pushing into her maw and against her long tongue, his paws reaching around to tug her tight against his body. With her eyes half-lidded and dreamy, she pushed to his touch and pressed her long tongue against his. She was glad that he was finally being forward, even if it took a bit of pushing to get there.
When their lips parted, he raised her hips into the air to press the tip of his cock against her cunt. He pressed in slowly without even asking, without even prepping, her body shaking as she struggled to not moan aloud to wake anyone up. When the tip pushed past her entrance, he thrust inside of her once firmly causing her to nearly let out a loud moan, but she held it in. With half of his cock buried inside of her, he began rocking his hips back and forth to bounce her on his lap. Again she found it hard to hold in her moans to the point where she had to press her lips against his to keep herself from waking the others. The lupin accepted the kiss with a passionate vigor that shot up her body. She could feel heat gathering and lancing up and down her spine. She could feel a bit of pain gathering around her body, but the pleasure outweighed it along with the arousal from being taken so thoroughly. She wanted to moan aloud, but would rather not wake anyone, so she kept her mouth against his and shut her eyes as she began to move her hips to his thrusts.
He didn't spare any time in getting the majority of his cock planted deep inside of her pussy. She moaned out against his lips and her body shook as she felt him so deep against her inner walls. Her pussy clamped tight on his cock and she couldn't help but shake as she felt hot drops of pre fill her. She knew it was dangerous to let him knot her, but she kept on moving her hips to get more of his cock inside of her and soon she felt his knot grinding and kissing against her pussy. She ground and pounded herself against his cock, his own hips moving furiously to push inside of her just as firmly. It wasn't long before she felt his knot stretching her wide, his paws gripping at her rear to tug her down firmly. In response, she gasped out and pulled her mouth away to let out a squeak. She felt her body begin to tremble violently from the constant pressure of the cock inside of her twitching so furiously. With his cock knotted inside of her pussy, she groaned out and felt her orgasm hit her hard. She kept her mouth shut tight as her legs trembled and her eyes shut tight to keep herself from pulling from his lips and squealing, but she couldn't hold back her noises as she felt his hot cum pour out inside of her pussy. She pulled from his mouth and let out a squeak as she felt his seed splash against her inner walls. She would definitely need to get some form of contraceptive after this.
Holding onto one another, they closed their eyes and breathed out, panting and nestled against one another. Theresa shut her eyes feeling sleep take over even though she knew she needed to have him pull out, but she couldn't help it, sleep found her and it found the Lupin as well.
The morning after had been quite embarrassing as most of the other guards had woken up to seeing them huddled together and still stuck. Luckily enough, they only laughed it off and didn't tease too much. Theresa felt well rested and happy to be on the road again after the night of fun and danger. It was nice traveling with the caravan, but as they reached a fork in the forest road, she knew it was time to leave. She had been checking her map so often, and the nearest town was down the opposite direction and so she waved her new friends off and made sure to give her Lupin lover for the night a big kiss. Perhaps she'd see them someday again, but for now, she would keep traveling to see new places and share her music.
