Stalwart
#14 of Poems
I don't know where this came from. I guess poems and some drawings will be posted here till I finally am done editing some chapters from The Forest and Ups when Downs.
Enjoy!
As my body catches up with my age
I finally understand
The sacrifices you made for us
And as my eyes fail
I can finally see
The blood you had spilt on earth's crust
Just so we
Could be a bit better than you
As my chest aches
And my bones break
I can feel it in my bones
That this kind of life wasn't meant for me
And as brothers fall
And sisters sleep
The stalwart heart you had
Slowly broke over time
And I wish I had realized this sooner
So time it flows
Around and before
And I cry out
Drowning and floating
Hoping it can slow
So I can find a flower
And put it on your grave
But time it doesn't wait
Oh
Time doesn't wait
