#1 of High School Secrets

It all started back in 1997. Jesus, hard to believe that it's already been twenty years now. Oh, before I get started on my story, I should mention that my name is Vince, and I'm a gray wolf. I'm kinda tall, but I've been like that since I was young. Anyway, this is the story about how I came to meet someone that became so important in my life.

Like I mentioned, this all started in 1997. My Mom and Dad had left the church we'd been going to all of my life. I don't recall what happened exactly, but they weren't happy there anymore. This came as a relief to me because now I wouldn't have to get up early on Sunday to go to a place I hated. At that time, I had really bad social anxiety, and I wasn't very fond of most of the kids my age, and I really hated that my parents made me participate in the church's youth group. All I wanted to do was listen to music and play video games during the weekend, and now it looked like that might finally happen.

It wasn't to be. My parents were big believers in being active members of the community, plus my Dad was pretty religious, though I don't think my Mom is, but she certainly enjoys the social aspect of being part of a church. I guess I was being naive when I thought we were quitting church entirely. It was only a few weeks later that my Dad told my younger sister and I that we would start attending another church in town. I groaned at first, but I knew some of the kids that went there, and they had a much bigger youth group, and unlike my previous youth group, this one sounded like they actually did some fun things.

It was the Wednesday after our first Sunday morning service at the church that I ran into someone who would change my life forever. My sister and I went down to the church's basement where the youth group met. I could feel my social anxiety kicking in as I made my way down there, not knowing what to expect. Once in the basement, I saw there were about twenty other kids in attendance. There were some cookies and punch over in the corner. Being a junk food lover, I didn't waste anytime going over there helping myself. It was when I was filliing up my Styrofoam cup with some punch that I felt someone tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see this red fox staring at me.

"Hi," he said, looking incredibly friendly. "I'm Alec. What's your name?"

I sat my punch and cookies down on the table after noticing that he had extended his paw in friendship. I took hold of it. "I'm Vince."

"I've never seen you here before," he said. "What made you decide to start coming?"

"My Mom and Dad," I said, unable to disguise the contempt I felt towards my parents for forcing me to come.

"Oh," he said, obviously aware that I was here under duress. "I think you'll like it. We always have a good time."

"I hope so," I said, picking up my cookies and punch once more.

"What grade you in?" he asked me.

"Freshman," I answered. "You?"

"Me too," he said.

We kept talking to each other before the youth pastor came downstairs. I've always been the type that's very suspicious of people I don't know, I'd guess the reason for that stems from having had friends in the past who've stabbed me in the back or just abandoned me for whatever reasons, but there was something entirely different about Alec. He wasn't stuck up, didn't have an ego. I found out that he ran cross-country in the fall and track in the spring. I liked sports okay, but I'd never participated in any of the after school sports in all of my life. By the time I left youth group that evening, I felt like I'd made a new friend.

Weeks went by, and my parents were actually surprised that I was looking forward to going to youth group on Wednesdays. My Dad even remarked that getting me to go before was like pulling teeth. My mom explained that I'd made a new friend there. That seemed very pleasing to my father, who would usually remark that I needed to get off my ass and do something useful. By this time, it was summer, and since Alec and I were on summer vacation, I asked my Mom if I could have him over sometime to spend the night. She was fine with that and I was quite excited about having my new, best friend over.

I was thrilled that Alec was finally able to come over on the first weekend of July. I remember waiting by the window next to our front door for Jeri's mom to drop him off. I'm sure I looked pretty obsessive, but I didn't care. I'd never met anyone quite like Alec, and I treasured every minute I was with him. I sighed, thinking about all the fun we'd have as I waited, and waited . . .

There it was, the red mini-van that Alec's mom drove. I walked outside, wanting to greet my friend.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey, Vince," he said, getting out of the van.

"Oh," I said, seeing the duffel bag he was holding. "Let me get that for you."

"Ah, thanks," he said. "Wow, this is a pretty nice place."

I turned around, looking at my parents' house. We lived out by a lake and the view was kind of picturesque. I guess I kind of took that for granted, having lived in the same house my entire life. Alec and I waved goodbye to his Mom as she drove away and then went inside. No sooner were we indoors when I noticed the surprised look on Alec's face.

"Something wrong?" I asked him.

"You guys have air conditioning," he said, as though that were some great luxury.

"Yeah," I said. "I guess you guys don't?"

"No," he said, "I'm kind of used to living without it during the summer, but it sure is nice to be in a house that has it."

"Glad you like it," I said, managing a slight smile. "Come one, I'll show you my room upstairs."

We went upstairs to my room, and if Alec was surprised when he first walked inside and found out we had air conditioning, he was absolutely blown away by my room.

"Wow," he said, his mouth hanging open. "This is all yours?"

"Yeah," I said. "All mine."

Alec seemed to marvel that I had both my own computer and a television in my room. Now, back then, we didn't have flat screen televisions, so I had the old tube kind of TV, but it was pretty big for that style. I watched Alec sit down in front of the TV and look through all the video games I had.

"You guys must be rich," he said, unable to hide his excitement as he looked through my collection.

"I don't know about that," I said. My Dad was a computer programmer and my Mom was a legal secretary, but I never though of my family as being rich. "I guess we do alright."

"I'll say," said Alec. The fox looked over at me. "So, whatcha wanna do right now?"

"You might find this hard to believe," I said. "But I wouldn't mind going running for awhile."

"Really?" said Alec. "I didn't know that you ran."

"Hey," I said, giving him a slight shove. "What do you think I do all day? Sit on my butt and play video games?"

"From the look of things," said Alec. "I'd say that it would be a safe bet to say yes."

"I'll have you know," I said with pride. "I've been running every morning since school let out for the summer."

"You wanting to join the cross country team?" Alec asked me.

"Yeah," I said. "I'd like that a lot."

"Awesome," he said. "Okay, let me get changed into my running stuff and you can show me where we're going."

"Sure," I said. I'd assumed that Alec would want me to leave him alone in my room while he changed or go to the bathroom, but he didn't say a word as he unzipped his bag and pulled out his running clothes. I watched as he pulled off his shirt, revealing the well-toned musculature he had. I guess he was so used to changing in a locker room that he didn't mind my presence as he pulled off his jean shorts and changed into his running shorts. I continued to just stand there fixated on his appearance until he tapped on my shoulder.

"Hey," he said.

"What?" I said, as though I was in a trance.

"You gonna get into your running clothes, or is that what you're wearing?" he asked me.

"Oh, yeah," I said, going over to my dresser. "Give me a minute."

I stood with my back to him as I gathered up my running clothes and changed into them. I was being honest with Alec when I told him that I had been going running everyday since school was out for the summer, but I had no idea how far a cross-country course actually was in high school. Truth was, my desire to join the cross-country team had nothing to do with any great love of running; I just wanted to spend more time with my friend. Alec was just the type of guy that made me want to be a better person. He made me want to try harder when it came to achieving something in life.

"You about done?" asked Alec as I slipped a tank top on.

"Yeah," I said, finally turning around to look at him.

"Not bad," said Alec as he looked me over. "You've got a nice build on you."

"What?" I said, not expecting the compliment. "Oh, thanks. I guess so."

"I'm serious," said Alec. "You're a pretty big guy. Wish I was that big."

I shrugged. "Well, I'm a wolf, so I guess no matter what, I'm gonna be bigger than you."

"True," said Alec. "Well, how about you lead the way?"

"Okay," I said, leaving my room.

We left the house and ran around my street before heading south. That direction led a bunch of cornfields. We'd experience really great weather that summer, with lots of rain as well as hot humid days and cool nights; just the right climate for the corn to really take off. Today was no exception, and ten minutes into our run, I could really feel the affects of it. I wasn't used to running long distances in all kinds of weather like Alec, but I was determined not to wuss out on him. As I panted, I looked over at him and saw that he looked almost completely unaffected by the elements. I had to admire his incredible stamina, something that I was lacking, but wished to build up. It hadn't helped that I'd spent most of my free time glued to my video games, but I felt like that was changing now.

"You alright?" asked Alec, looking over at me.

"I'm good," I said, panting heavily.

Alec had a pedometer clipped to the waistline of his shorts. He looked down at it before looking back at me.

"We've got a mile and a half in. Wanna do double that?"

"Sure," I said, immediately regretting what I'd just said. I don't think I'd ever run such a distance in my entire life, and certainly not in this kind of weather, but I decided to soldier on. I remember Alec telling me once that running was more mental than physical, and maybe that's true, but at the time we were running, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it or not. I remembered getting kind of disoriented before we made ti back to my street, but I was beyond thrilled when I made it back home, almost crawling inside my house.

"Man," I said, lying on the floor and feeling the sweet caress of central air-conditioning. "That feels so good right now."

"It does feel pretty good," said Alec. "Wish I had that at home after I went for a run."

I just laid there on the floor for about ten minutes before I finally got up and went into the kitchen to get Alec and I some ice water. I came back out to the living room and saw Alec sitting on the couch.

"Thought you might want this," I said, extending my paw to him.

"Oh, thanks, Vince," he said, taking the glass of ice water. He took a large gulp from it and placed it on a coaster on the coffee table. "I'm pretty impressed. I bet you've never ran that far before, have you?"

"Not that I can remember," I said. "I thought that heat was gonna kill me there for awhile."

"Hey," said Alec. "Like I told you; it's mind over matter, and you really lived up to that today. I couldn't help but notice that it looks like you've lost a few pounds since we first met."

"I have," I said proudly. "Between exercising and eating better food, I'm really getting into shape for cross-country this fall."

"That good," said Alec, standing up. "You'll need to be in shape for the season."

"Yeah," I said. "Um, before we do anything else, I think I need to take a shower. All that sweating has made my fur stink."

Alec stuck his nose under his armpit. "Yeah, I stink too. Say, when do your Mom and Dad get home?"

"Um, my Dad's traveling for his company right now, so he won't be home until next week. My Mom is visiting her sister down in Indianapolis until tomorrow."

"And your sister?" asked the fox.

"She's spending the night with a friend. She'll be back tomorrow. Why you ask?"

"I just thought that you might want to take a shower with me," said Alec nonchalantly.

Whoa! I was not expecting that at all. I struggled to find the words to answer him, but all I managed was gibberish. Alec just laughed.

"I only ask because you're gonna have to get used to showering with other guys around if you're gonna be in team sports," he informed me. "Okay?"

"Alright," I said in a voice that was probably two octaves higher than my normal pitch. "I'll . . . get some towels and wash cloths."

After retrieving the said items, I showed Alec where our bathroom was on the main floor. There was a bathroom right next to my room upstairs, but it was smaller, and since I was going to have someone joining me, I thought it best to take the bigger shower. I flicked on the switch and the exhaust fan so the bathroom wouldn't get completely steamed up.

"You're the guest," I said. "You pick what temperature you want the water at."

"Thanks," said Alec, turning on the water. He adjusted the hot and cold knobs before finding what must have been the ideal temperature. "Okay, you ready?"

"I guess so," I said, still nervous about doing this.

Alec tore his clothes off right in front of me as if it were no big deal. I remained fully clothed as the naked fox stared at me. "You gonna get undressed?"

"I guess," I said. "Could you get inside the shower first. I'm kind of nervous."

"Okay," said Alec, sliding the shower door open and closing it.

I was still very uncertain about this. I guess I hadn't thought much about how I would have to shower around other guys if I was going to be in after school sports, but Alec was right; it was just something I would have to get used to. I peeled my clothes off, took a deep breath and opened the shower door and closed it. The water was good and hot, which is how I preferred it after sweating so much. I saw Alec had his back to me as he was lathering up his fur. I couldn't help but fixate on his naked tail and butt. He turned around suddenly and saw what I was doing. Rather than getting upset, he shot me a sly grin.

"Like what you see?" he asked me.

"What?" I said, the hot water saturating my fur. "Oh, I wasn't looking at anything."

"Okay," he said in a playful voice as he pointed at something. "But I assure you that I'm looking at something."

I looked down at where he was pointing. I couldn't believe it. My cock had gone from limp to rock hard in no time at all. Thoroughly embarrassed, I turned my back to Alec, trying to cover myself.

"Vince," he said, putting a paw on my back. "It's okay. Really, you have nothing to be embarrassed about at all."

Slowly, I turned around and looked into his eyes. "You're . . . you're not upset?"

"Oh, you big, silly wolf," he said, shaking his head. "Vince, do think that I wanted to take a shower with you because I want you to get used to showering around other guys, or do you think there might be another reason?"

I couldn't believe what he was saying; not because he had some ulterior motive but because . . . well, I had to tell him. "Alec, you mean you're . . ."

"I am," said the fox. "I could tell that you had feelings for me early on, and I wanted to make sure that I had feelings for you too."

"Do you?" I asked, my heart racing.

He smiled and nodded his head. "For you and only you, big guy."

I was overjoyed by this sudden revelation. I went from feeling completely uncomfortable to grabbing hold of Alec and hugging him tightly. I knew there was a reason I felt so close to him, like I'd never felt around any other friend that I had in my life. All the discomfort, awkwardness I'd been feeling quickly faded away as I held my fox and gave him a kiss.

"Hey," said Alec. "You wanna help wash each other?"

"Love to," I said, picking up a wash cloth and bar of soap. Though Alec was already lathered up with some soap, he looked like he could use some more. I rubbed the bar of soap against the wash cloth, making sure there was plenty on there. I went to work, scrubbing at Alec's bright red fur, and I made a point of spending quite a bit of time with my paws on the nice backside of his. I could hear him groan when I was doing that, and it was a clear sign to me that he was really enjoying it. I finished up scrubbing him down and he rinsed himself off.

When it was his turn to wash me, he asked me to turn around. I expected that he wanted to return the favor by paying close attention to my butt. I should have known better than that, because before I knew it, I was feeling the sharp sting of the wash cloth hitting my ass. I yelped, turned around and grabbed hold of Alec.

"You sneaky little shit," I said.

"Hey, we foxes are sneaky," he said. "Don't forget that."

I looked into this eyes, as I held him in a headlock. "I won't forget that, or how incredibly sexy foxes are."

"Especially me?" he asked.

"Especially you," I said.

Alec resumed scrubbing me down and I rinsed my fur off. Satisfied that we were both completely rinsed off, I turned off the water and stepped out onto the rug, with Alec following behind me. I handed him a towel and took hold of one for myself. Alec, being smaller, was able to dry himself off before I was, but he continued to stay in the bathroom with me.

"That was fun," I said. "What do you wanna do next?"

"How about you dry off and I'll show you?"

I did just that. I dried myself off and felt Alec's paw taking hold of mine. We left the bathroom, completely naked, and walked upstairs to my room. I was still a little damp, so I turned my bedroom's ceiling fan on high as Alec laid down on my bed. He patted the mattress.

"Care to join me?" he asked.

"I'd love to," I said, lying down next to him.

No sooner had I laid down when I felt Alec cuddling up beside me. I'd never felt so close to anyone as I did to that fox right now. He rubbed his head underneath my muzzle affectionately. I for one, couldn't resist letting my paws explore his backside once more.

"How about we do this for awhile?" asked Alec.

"Fine by me," I said. "Then what do you wanna do?"

"Play video games, get something to eat. Maybe go swimming across the street."

"If we go swimming, we'll have to take a shower again. I don't want to go to bed stinking like seaweed."

"I'd love to shower with you again," said Alec, now looking into my eyes. "Of course, I'd want to be nice and clean for what we're going to do tonight."

Though Alec hadn't specified what we were going to be doing tonight, I had a very good idea what it would be. It would be a night I'd never forget.
