Days had gone by now and still nothing. Inuyasha and Kagome walked down a long dark trail in the northern parts of the Demon's World. In the distance was the high mountain tops of the home land to the Wolf Demon Tribes. He had been here before many times but it had still been many years. Caso was a full grown Demon now and he wondered if she would recognize him at all. She was still a Child when they had last spoken when her mother was still alive and powerful.

To this day Inuyasha didn't know why he had befriended the Wolf Demons of the north. Sesshomaru was his brother but they had never seen eye to eye and he had no reason to care for any Children of his or family's he left behind in his heartless wanderings. But something had changed in him after meeting Kagome. He heart was no longer full of hate or pain. Maybe that was why he had taken their friend ship all those years ago.

As they grew closer to the mountains he felt a small bit of anger at himself for being so selfish and leaving for the underworld. He had been selfish by doing so but it was in the past and he couldn't change that. He looked at Kagome and smiled as she walked down the ruff trail with him. She had grown some since he had last seen her. Her hair was a bit longer and pulled back in a braid, taller but not much, and she no longer had on her uniform she used to wear when she was younger. "Inuyasha tell me why didn't you come back to me after the battle was over?" asked Kagome looking at him

Inuyasha let his head fall as he walked on. She was talking about when he forced her to leave after the great battle with humans. It was the one that forced the Demons to make their own world. He made her go back to her own time so she would be safe and then he went off to the Underworld to hide and keep his own demon blood at bay.

Who may I ask are you two and why are you here?"

"I am Inuyasha your leaders Uncle and this is my good friend Kagome. I have come with news of Caso's Brother Khaz." Said Inuyasha his hand on Tetsaiga

Ranto blinked and said "Lady Caso didn't say anything of having an uncle that was in the demon world. Her mother's Family is all dead and Lord Sesshomaru has no family that we know of."

"No you don't but I knew your mother. My name is Geno the leader of the Panther Tribe to the west where Renee comes from. Nice to meet you Khaz." Said the male

"Lord Geno he isn't worth your time he is nothing more than a weak Half Demon." Said Renee

"That is what they said about Inuyasha at one time but look at what he was able to do. He took down Naraku and no other Full Demon could have done that. He also comes from the blood line of Asmarila and she was once known as one of the most powerful Demons of the day." Said Geno

"But my lord why is he worth all of this trouble?"

"The master wants him...for what I'm not sure but what the master wants the master gets. Now I want you to keep an eye on him tonight since it seems like his is awake. And Renee please don't overdo it if you can." Said Geno walking off and leaving Khaz along with the Panther

"Your blade is being blocked by a spell to keep you from summoning it. As to where you are that I can't tell you or at least the location. This is a prison owned by my leader. Our master wants you kept alive for some reason." Said Renee walking into the Cell closing the door behind her

"I don't understand what is going on."

She started to say a few words under her breath and something rippled in the air behind her. "Go up the path way to the right down the hall from here. It's never used anymore. When you are out of this place you will be able to summon your Blade again." Said Renee

"Thank you Renee."

He made it out of the building finding himself deep in the far woods of the east from his sisters lands. He looked back only once and saw nothing. He smiled and ran off into the falling morning light. A smile on his face as he thought of how lucky he was.

It took Khaz five days to reach the borders of his sister's land. He looked out over the large valley that his sister's mountain looked over and he smiled. The memories of what happened with Renee was still fresh in his mind. A few yards in front of him he saw a couple of the Northern Wolf Tribes patrol sitting next to a river with spears in their hands, with them was none other than his sister Caso.

He made his way over to them and yelled "Caso."

She looked at him in amazement then said "Khaz...is that you? What happened I thought you were captured?

"I was but the Panther Demon Renee let me go. Also she told me to tell you something..." said Khaz concentrating trying to remember "Oh yeah. The Day has come...He has returned. I have no idea what it means but she said you would."

"What who is back Caso." Said Inuyasha

"Someone way worse than Naraku. His name is Ranci...he is someone who tried to take over the demon world by helping the Humans in the war. I can't tell you everything yet but he is supposed to be sealed away. If he is back then he could tell the humans how to...." Said Caso but as she was about to say what he could do the sky went black

"That is strange why is the sky going black." Said one of the patrol demons

"I'm not sure." Said Caso looking up at the sky

"Sister I'm sorry but I found Inuyasha he was with me when I got captured and he helped me control my demon form." Said Khaz not really caring about the sky or this demon his sister was talking about.

"I know him and Kagome were here a while ago but they left to go find you a few hours ago." Said Caso still looking at the sky

As they watched the air seemed to split and portals opened up in many different areas around them and throughout the land. At first they had no idea what was going on until they saw them. Soldiers covered in black armor and holding heavy weapons walked through the portals. They started to get in to long formations and march toward the towns around the lands.

"No....this can't be humans in the demon world." Said Caso

Khaz who was still trying to get his sister to listen to him stopped talking and looked at the men. In the middle of them all was a tall Pole with the Amarican flag on it. He swore and said "The army has found us. This isn't good the humans are scared of us and they will stop at nothing to kill every demon they find."

"Over my dead body." Said Caso Pulling out two long thing blades

Khaz put his hand up and call Tento to him. He was about to attack when Caso took his arm and said "Stop Khaz...they want this from us. We can take care of them for now. You need to go find Sheara and Leon and the pack. If I'm right about this the humans are working with Ranci. He is powerful To get to you he will try to get your mate. Now go to them."

Why does he want me...sister I don't understand." Said Khaz "And I have to find Inuyasha and Kagome first

"Don't worry about them. Inuyasha and his Tetsaiga are powerful and Kagome is more powerful then she looks from what I can tell of her. You need to protect your family now go." Said Caso

"How can I if I open a portal here I'll be way to far from them to do any good. Leon took the pack to the far north to hide from the humans." Said Khaz

"I can get you right to them. I have a way of opening a portal right to where Leon is." Said Caso turning around and opening a portal for him "Now go my brother and keep safe."

"But what about you?" said Khaz as his sister pushed him through

"I will be fine...don't worry. I won't let anyone touch a single one of the tribe." And with that they were gone.

"So I take it you didn't tell him yet why your mother wanted him safe Caso." Said Sesshomaru walking out from behind a tree

"Nice to see you father...no I haven't yet."

"To bad. The boy will have to be told sooner or later you know."

Caso smiled said "He will lean in time Father. Mother told me that he has to learn who he is alone. Even though it pains me to watch him struggle so bad."

"Since I'm here I guess you will want me to help you take care of the human trash that is entering your lands Caso." Said Sesshomaru reaching for his two swords looking down at his left arm that he had gotten back many years ago

"No father. I want you to follow Khaz and keep him safe for me. You owe me at least that much of a favor I'm sure." Said Caso

Sasshomaru just looked away and said "Fine with me." and he opened a portal too vanishing like Khaz had

Khaz shook his head and looked around the forest he found himself in as the sun started to set. He let his breath calm a bit then he transformed back into his wolf form. He sniffed the air and found the trail of his mate. He started off for the north following her sweet scent as he ran.

It only took him an hour to reach the lands where the pack was sitting and resting. They were next to a River that was starting to flow as spring started to come in. He saw Leon sitting next to two of the pack members and he let out a soft howl to let them know he was there.

Leon looked up and smiled as Khaz worked his way toward him. Once he reached the leader Leon said "Khaz it's good to see you back and safe. My daughter has been worried sick about you and in her condition it's not a good thing."

"I'm sorry I was gone for so long Leon old friend but it looks like war is starting with the humans and the demons. I was going to fight but Caso told me to come back and keep you safe."

"Or to keep you safe I'm sure Khaz. But I'll leave that for another day. Sheara is going to be ready to give birth any day now and we can't move from this spot now. She is waiting for you in a cave over this way." said Leon walking off

Khaz followed the old leader of the pack and went into the cave with him. At the back of it he saw Sheara laying down on her side and panting but she smiled as he walked in. He ran over to her and nuzzled her under the chin letting a small sound escape his lips showing her how much he loved her.

"My love I was worried sick." Said Sheara licking his nose

"Oh I'm doing fine. Father is just being a worry wart is all. Yes the pups will be here any day now but he doesn't have to act like I'm going to brake if I'm not treated with care." Said Sheara letting her head rest on him

"So how is she doing?" asked Leon once Khaz stepped out of the cave

"She seems well but a little tired." Said Khaz

Leon got up and started to walk toward the river again saying "Khaz I'm worried about one thing with her."

"What is that Leon?"

"Your guys pup's will be part Demon like yourself. What will that mean for them when they grow up. They will have to live the life of a demon like you must." Said Leon

Khaz looked down at the dirt as he walked next to his old friend and said "I have been thinking about that myself and I think there is a spell my mother told me about when I was talking with her. It's something in her memories about getting rid of Demon blood in an unborn child. The child or pup has to be less than half demon and I don't know what it will do to the pups. They most likely will be fine but I'm scared it may hurt them."

"Do you think it's a good idea anyway? I mean if they can have a normal life then that will be better than the one you have of battle and bloodshed." Said Leon

"It's something I think I should try at least but first I'll have to talk to Sheara and see what she thinks." Said Khaz

"Yeah I guess you do." Said Leon stopping and looking around "Khaz did you knotice how quiet it has gotten. Where is the rest of the pack?"

Khaz looked around moving next to Leon saying "I just noticed that myself. Where is everyone?"

"They ran off when I showed up. I must have scared them I think." Said a Loud voice from behind them.

They turned around quick and saw a tall Demon fox standing in front of them. He had a long think body, eyes the color of gold, red hair with black tips at the end, a red and white tail, and a human like face that more resembled what an elf would look like. He had on Black and red Demon armor and a long spear with a fancy tip on the end in his right hand.

Khaz drew at his power and transformed back into his demon form they said "Who are you and what do you want."

"My name is simple you may call me Ranci and I have come to see you Khaz." Said Ranci

"You're the one Caso told me of."

"Caso the young daughter of Asmarila the one who was said to be more powerful than any demon before her. She was killed trying to save you I think Khaz right after she sealed me away. Well I'm glad to hear that Caso is still breathing, that will make my come back even better when I kill her."

"What do you want with me?"

Leon moved forward and growled at the Ranci and said "You know he is no use to you Ranci so why do you come here trying to make trouble. We want nothing but piece and to be left alone."

"Leon I smell your father in you yes I do. He was an ally to Asmarila once. Well if you must know Khaz here is useful to me no matter what you think. I will only need his power for a short time then I'll be done with him and he can go back to this life as he calls it." said Ranci

"I'll never help someone who was an enemy of my mother." Said Khaz calling forth Tento

"Now now young half breed spawn of Asmarila. She was not my enemy till she betrayed me. You see she is my sister...well not in blood but her family raised me from when I was orphaned as a pup."

Ranci didn't move an inch as he said "So I take it you won't lend me a hand in this Khaz son of my foster sister Asmarila Queen of the northern relm...or should I say Former Queen."

"Pity; then I guess you'll have to die since you are no use to me now." Said Ranci and with that his he lifted his spear and vanished. A split second later something flashed through the air knocking Tento out of Khaz's hands. Then something hit him in the chest sending him flying back into a tree. The tree gave a mighty Crack and fell as Khaz's body fell to earth blood coming from his head and mouth. He looked up and saw the tip of the blade right in his face. Ranci looked down the shaft and smiled.

He lifted his arm and brought the bald down aiming for Khaz's head. Khaz knew this was it, he closed his eyes and waited for the blow to come. But it never did. There was a Flash and a Yip in the air and a scream from Ranci. Khaz opened his eyes and saw the blade was gone so he jumped up and moved out of the way running for Tento. When he reached it he lifted it and turned only to see Ranci looking at him with blood on his right hand. His Spear was gone.

"That blasted mutt, well he paid for his mistake." Said Ranci looking to his right

Khaz followed the Fox's Gaze and felt his heart stop. Sitting on his side was Leon with the spear in his chest. Blood was pooling under him and his fur looked as though it had been burned. Ranci walked over to Leon and took the spear in his hand and pulled it out then faced Khaz again a grin on his face.

"No...Leon it can't be." Said Khaz

"That is what happens when you try to play the hero young one. Now it's your turn. Unless you decided to join me and help me like I asked. If you so I'll let you live."

Khaz looked up at the demon, feeling his blood boil at the sight of his best friend laying there dying. Khaz's body once again acted on its own as he transformed into his full demon form. The markings showed up on his face and his eyes went red. He took the blade in his hand and he attacked.

Ranci's face fell as he blocked the attack finding it harder to block. Khaz's Speed had come up a hundred times as his power grew from the transformation. He Slashed and Paired, trying with all his might to kill the Monster that had taken his friend from him. Ranci's face went from shocked to pissed as small cuts started to show up on his Armor and he still couldn't get a blow on the young wolf demon.

"I see you are the son of Asmarila. Her power is within you. This is the power of a half demon I see. Your emotions make you more powerful than a normal demon who find it hard to feel sadness or pain." Said Ranci still trying to keep Khaz off him

"I'll show you. You killed him, I'll kill you." Yelled Khaz jumping back

Ranci stood there and laughed as Khaz took his blade and tossed it into the air. He jumped after it and in the light of the now Full moon he yelled "FULL MOON'S BLAST." He took hold of Tento in mid air and drew a big circle in the air making a ring of blue. The moon light filled it up and when it was so bright that Ranci had to look away Khaz Slashed it with Tento. A large blast of energy shot down at Ranci hitting like a bomb. The blast twisted around in a large dome covering the Fox Demon.

Khaz Landed and smiled letting his anger go away a bit and his demon form vanished. He laughed and said "Take that..."

"That was Quite entertaining. Who would have thought you came so far with your power. Asmarila was at least in her fifties before she could use Tento like that. Still it doesn't help" said Ranci walking out of the smoke from where the blast had hit. Only a part of his Armor was cracked and his hair looked a bit burned but not much else. "It's my turn now."

He lifted his spear and in a quick downward thrust a large beam of red light came toward him. The blast was so big that Khaz knew it was going to be the death of him. He was about to try to stop it with one of his more powerful blasts when a form appeared in front of him and stopped the blast of red light with his hand.

"I'm sorry to intrude on your fight but I believe this is uncalled for." Said the tall demon

The light vanished and Ranci looked into the face of the new comer and smiled "I see this new war has brought you out of hiding too."

"I do find that the humans you sent to the demon world are annoying so yes I have come back from my wonderings Ranci. Now take your leave before I'm forced to take you down myself." Said the new comer

Ranci looked at Khaz then back at the tall demon then said "Fine with me. I was getting bored anyway. But next time I won't go easy on him. I'm not the same as before you know." And with that he vanished

Khaz only waited a second then pointed his blade at the new comer and yelled "Who are you?"

He turned and Khaz saw a young face, he had Long silver hear that fell to his feet almost, a crescent moon on his forehead, two markings on each of his cheeks, a long fluffy with thing going from his front around his right shoulder to his back, and two swords on his hip. His eyes showed no emotion as he looked over Khaz.

"I am Sesshomaru. I'm here by request of my Daughter Caso to keep an eye on you. Not something I felt like doing but I owed her a favor so here I am Khaz the son of my former mate Asmarila." Said The demon

"Your...Caso's father?" Said Khaz

"I am what of it." said Sesshomaru

Khaz was about to say something when he saw Leon again and he ran over to him without another word to the dog Demon. He kneeled down by his friends side and said "Leon...are you going to be ok."

He knew that answer just by looking at the large gash in the wolf's side. But it hurt still as Leon said "I'm sure I won't be my friend. It seems...death has found me finally. I was wondering when...it would happen. Too bad it was before I got to see my first grandchildren or my only child becomes a parent. But I couldn't let him kill you Khaz...that was really stupid of you to rush in like that...what I have I taught you. Foolish is all I can say."

"Even at the end you're still being the one giving orders." Said Khaz letting his tears fall onto his friends body

Sesshomaru walked up to him and said "If it wasn't Ranci's Blade I could have saved him but that Spear is death itself."

Leon looked up at Sesshomaru and said "Sesshomaru long time no see old friend of my fathers."

"It's nice to see you too but not in the state you're in I'm afraid." Said the dog demon

"Can you do this dying wolf on last favor. Show this bumbling fool how to fight. Your brother can't do it right I'm sure and your knew Asmarila's powers better than anyone else." Said Leon his voice growing weaker

"If I must for an old friend then yes." said Sesshomaru

Leon looked back to Khaz and said "Khaz my friend...I have watched you grow up as you have done with me. You...saved...me once as a pup, and now I have paid you back for that day. Thank you for your kindness and please watch over the pack and my daughter. They will look to you know as their leader. Be...strong...for them...and...never...back down. You hear me boy. Never back down..."

"I won't my friend." Said Khaz crying hard now as the light in his friends eyes left

"And now the greatest journey is about to start...I wonder what is waiting for me on the other side...I...hope she will be waiting for me...my love." And with that Leon, the wolf that Khaz first met as a child and helped and learned so much from died...and the only thing Khaz could think of was why and how he can tell Sheara. Her father died to save him.

"Good bye my friend...I hope your journey will be a safe one."

Well this was one hard one for me to do. Mostly due to some RL stuff going on and putting my writing to a near standstill. I'm sorry for how long it took but I hope you liked it.
