Why does my brain refuse to let me write without something distracting me every 2 minutes? On another note the next part might be the last as I never had a solid idea on how this was supposed to end only that I thought it was an interesting concept

Guardian chapter 3

Warmth. It was strange, he hadn't had a home for a while and he had survived even longer without heat. Yet when he came to he was surrounded by it, and more than that he felt as if he were wrapped in a fine warm silk. Strange, he didn't have enough money to survive in a shabby apartment let alone have nice sheets. Wait... Heating? Sheets? Shelter? Where the hell was he? Groggily he pried open his eyes only to be greeted with a dim, unfamiliar room. He attempted to get up however a throbbing pain in his head kept him down. It was then he recalled what had happened. Who was that woman, and did she bring him here? And if so, why? After a few seconds he managed to slowly exit the bet to find that the draggy cloths he wore were stripped from him, replaced with soft nightwear instead. However, this didn't instill much confidence in him. He didn't know where he was and the person he was running from was likely to be behind that.

Cautiously he made his way through the house without a sound attempting to figure out his surroundings when he stumbled across two things. The first was a crackling sound that almost sounded like rainfall however the second thing left no clue as to what was happening near by. The smell of pork. "Is she frying bacon of all things?" he whispered to himself as he approached the door containing the smell. He twisted the knob slowly before peeking through.

What he found through the door surprised him a bit. The same kitsune who was chasing him earlier was standing there in sweatpants and a t shirt frying up a full breakfast. He was about to pull back from the door and search for another way out of the house when she turned and glared at him through the cracked open door. Suddenly without his effort to do so he had entered the room and sat down at the table in the middle of the kitchen, before he even realized what had happened clover spoke with a sly grin on her muzzle. "Glad to see your hungry." She wasted no time bringing two plated to the table setting one down in front of him and placing herself across from him.

His mind was screaming at him to do something but no matter how hard he tried he was unable to budge a muscle his body moved of its own accord only to feed him. As he tried to figure out what the hell was going on, clover took a bite of toast off her plate before staring at him with a set of blaring emerald eyes and asking. "sorry to forget but what's your name again?" The last thing he thought to do was answer but as if he was possessed he simply answered. "Marcus" she continued to hold his gaze before continuing. "What a lovely name, how did you sleep last night?" she queried in a relaxed manner. "Better than when I slept on a dumpster mattress in a shoddy apartment with no heating." He replied against his will.

As she looked down to continue eating her breakfast, Marcus managed to move a bit of his own accord by curling his fingers. With control slowly returning to him, Marcus began to piece together what had just occurred. Kitsune such as the one seated in front of him were commonly known for unnatural but relatively tame abilities that were considered supernatural, and as he glanced at her eyes he noticed that they were not nearly as bright as when she was staring at him. He couldn't confirm but she was likely manipulating his mind through some physic skill of her. fear ensued in Marcus as any idea of escape was now far less likely leaving him trapped and at the mercy of a vixen who could be a serial killer for all he knew.

"nice to know my guest is enjoying themselves." She said before taking another bite. "If anyone deserves a break from life its you." She continued. By now he had regained enough control to form his own words. "What do you mean by that?" he asked, she looked up at him again causing Marcus to flinch slightly expecting to be possessed yet her eyes failed to glow as she answered. "I saw everything in that head of yours, I know what happened to you, her lies, that fight, getting arrested, being thrown on the streets with nothing. She was the one in the wrong, yet you took the fall. Least I could do was give you a roof over your head and some good food." Having someone poke around his head didn't help with trust however Marcus had a bigger question on his mind. "Why are you doing this?"

Clover paused for a while before answering. "You didn't deserve to die there, I've seen what kind of person you are and I'm more than willing to give you a second chance unlike those traitors you once called family." She paused acknowledging the mild shock on his face before picking up her empty plate and heading towards the sink to clean said dish, before Marcus was able to say another word she had left. Now fully in control of his body again and e knew she was no threat to him he decided to explore the house a bit, it didn't take him long to realize that she must have been quite wealthy judging from the modern design and stylish decorations dotted around the residence.

After a while his boredom got the better of him, he eventually stumbled upon Clover who was lazing on a couch. She stared up at him and grinned. "So... You like the house?" "Its lovely.... But where's my stuff?" Marcus asked finally attempting to leave the house again. Thus, confused clover for a moment before replying. "What? That torn up coat and pant of yours? Now that your staying here you don't need them." It was Marcus's turn to be confused now, but before he could say anything she continued. "it's a bit obvious that you've been left at the mercy of others so ill offer you this, you take care of things around the house for me and ill make sure you have anything you could possibly need or want." Marcus almost wished he never asked the question, the only thing that stopped him from literally running away from the offer were those damned emerald eyes this time they were more that enough to blind him and while his vision was clouded with white he simply responded. "Okay."

He could almost feel a grin creep upon her face as she replied. "Glad your willing to do this, ill be heading into the office and will be home by 6:30. It would be lovely to have a nice warm bath after that wouldn't it?" she asked testing his word "Of course dear." Marcus replied in a slightly drab manner. Clover chuckled and left Marcus idly sitting there but Marcus didn't mind as his vision faded from a bright white to nothing at all.
