Samantha woke up, her fur wet and matted with a cold sweat despite the warm temperature of her room. She sat up and stared into the early dawn light streaming in through her window, trying to take in deep, calming breaths. She felt her heart thumping painfully in her chest, but as she sat there and stared into space, it began to slow down. This wasn't the first nightmare of Fred she had; she'd had several over the last week and a half. She hoped desperately that they would stop. Shaking the vivid, clinging images from her mind, she looked over at her bedside clock. It's silence felt almost unnatural. She wished that she was asleep so that it's evil death knell could wake her, a million times more preferable to this sickening feeling of waking to these thoughts in her head. It was almost six, she noted. About time to get up and get ready for school. Sammy leaned over to her bedside table and turned off the alarm so it wouldn't go off while she was in the shower. Turning, she dangled her legs over the edge of her bed and hopped down. She gathered her clothes for later and slipped into the hall. Samantha stepped across the hall and into the bathroom. She turned to the shower, slid open the door, and turned it on to let it warm up. She sat on the toilet, and kicked her paws, waiting for the thick billows of steam to begin wafting through the bathroom, to obscure the window and mirror with moisture. She stepped in gingerly, and let the hot water run over her fur. As the first few droplets ran down her chest, she recoiled, scared. Tremors racked her body as she attempted to break free of bonds that weren't there. It felt like Fred's fingers in her fur, slowly making their way down her chest and tummy to her crotch. Bile rose in her throat. But as soon as the sensation had come, it passed, leaving her shivering and cold inside in spite of the heat. Again her heart raced, as did her breath. She threw herself under the water, desperate to wash the memory of the awful touches, the ordeal forced upon her away. Sammy grabbed her soap, sobbing, and scrubbed her body furiously. She hoped it would make her feel clean. It half worked. Washing the suds off of her fur, she did feel cleaner, calmer; it allowed her to throw off the ugly sensations, but not the memories. Her vigorous scrubbing had pulled a few tufts of fur from her coat. She didn't notice as they floated to the drain; she hadn't felt it. Samantha grabbed her shampoo and began working her fingers into her scalp. She was much gentler on herself this time, and it was more relaxing. Old memories of her mother massaging her scalp competing with the newer painful ones, hedging them out. She rinsed her hair of the suds. Sammy reached for more good memories. She thought of her soccer team victories, the sensation of swinging at recess, and how being with her friends felt. The pain and fear fought back, trying to hold on to her, but she wouldn't let it. Then she thought of the most pleasant feeling of all; the soft touch of Will's lips on her own, his tongue in her mouth. She shivered as the memory blasted away all the ugly thoughts and feelings left behind by her attempted kidnapper and rapist. Samantha's face fell as she thought about it though. It had been ten days. Ten days since Will had kissed her in the back of Fred's van, since she had asked him to do it again. And it hadn't happened again since then. In fact, there had been no outward sign that he remembered, or was still interested in her. He seemed distant, lost in thought, and Samantha was too scared to make a move of her own. She desperately wanted to, but every time she tried, something held her back or got in the way. Her body wouldn't respond, or a memory of Fred would jump into her minds eye. She'd lose her nerve, or a voice in her head would spew doubts into mind. Or mom or dad would pop up just as she was starting to speak. It was frustrating. She continued washing, trying to make haste. She didn't want to be late on her first day back, even if it was a Friday, with only two weeks of school left. Samantha wondered what it would be like, being back in school after what had happened. She had talked with her parents, the principle had even come to talk with her about what to expect on her first day back. Now rinsing conditioner from her hair, Sam heard a light knock on the bathroom door, rousing her from her thoughts.
William finished his breakfast, and headed upstairs to check on Samantha. Today was to be her trial day back at school, and he wanted to make sure she was getting up. He hadn't heard her alarm go off, so he wanted to make sure she was okay. He was deeply worried about her. The last ten days, she had seemed distant. Every time she looked at him, her eyes seemed to be glassy, like she was lost somewhere in her head, or undecided about something. He wanted to talk to her too. Wanted, needed to know that the kiss, that it was something she really wanted. He kept beating himself up inside about it, not knowing what to do. Reaching the top of the stairs, he could hear the sound of the shower running, and he breathed a sigh of relief. He went up to the door and knocked gently on it, not wanting to startle her too much. He knew about her recurring nightmare of Fred, even if he didn't know the exact details of it. "I'll be out in a minute!" She called out from the shower. Will contemplated saying something, letting her know it was him at the door. But it some how didn't feel right. She had enough on her mind without him adding more, especially this early in the day. There would be plenty of time later. William went back downstairs to his basement room to collect his school things. As usual, they were pretty scattered, but they were all out in the open. Pushing the last of his books into his bag, he went to his bathroom, and brushed his teeth. He picked up his toothbrush, and saw it was looking pretty sorry for itself. He tossed it and rummaged around in the medicine cabinet for a new one. He'd gone through that one really fast; he had been brushing his teeth constantly these last ten days. He found one, opened it, and applied the toothpaste. It seemed he could always taste Fred's blood in his mouth. Only a few drops had actually gotten in there when he had been savaging him, but it was enough. Whenever he ate something, or at odd moments, the iron taste would pop up uninvited. He spit out the froth and rinsed his mouth out. He noticed again that there was a little red mixed in the white. He grimaced, and set his toothbrush aside and left the bathroom to read on the sofa until it was time to go to school.
A short time later, Samantha peeked her head down the stairs to see Will on his back, foot paws in the air, reading. She smiled to herself. It was one of the few times in the last week that she managed to make such a gesture, but it gratified her to know she still could. ?Will, I'm ready,? she called softly. ?The bus will be here in a minute. William looked, then tucked the book into his back-pack and got up. Sam waited for him on the stairs as he climbed. She looked sad, and Will gave her a hug. About to say something, Will took in a deep breath of her strawberry scented shampoo, but their mother appeared above them. ?Come on you two, the bus is going to be here any minute. If you're both going, you need to go now,? She said. Will let out his breath, saying dejectedly, ?We know, mom. We're going.? ?Are you sure you don't want me to drive you two?? Will looked at Sam; he could see her considering the offer, but after a moment there was a slight shake of the head. ?No, we're okay mom, really. Sam and I will take the bus.? ?Alright, if that's what you want,? Lissandra said. She moved down the stairs to her two kits, and gave them a gentle hug. Guiding them up the stairs and to the front hall door, she said, ?Try to have a good day at school. Remember, you have permission to leave class and or call us and come home early if you need to. Your father is home all day today.? Samantha spoke up. ?Okay, Mom.? They put on their shoes and departed, waving back at their mother as she closed the door. Around the corner, the bus appeared. It had already stopped and opened its doors for them by the time they had reached the end of the driveway. William was leading, and stood aside to let Samantha on first. He got on behind her, and followed her to a surprisingly empty seat near the middle of the bus. She sat down and looked at Will as she slid all the way in. He sat down on the edge of the seat protectively, and surreptitiously looked about. Once the bus was moving again, he relaxed just a little, sliding further in. He watched as Samantha just looked out the window, in her own little world, badly wanting to breach it. He thought about what to say, but everything he could think of either felt wrong, or he didn't want to talk about in a public space. He settled on putting his paw over hers, while he continued to think about what to say. She looked over at him, and the beginnings of a small smile formed at her lips. A moment later, the bus stopped and a few other cubs climbed aboard. Will opened his mouth to speak- ?Can I sit here?? Asked a teen-aged Giraffe boy, who stood in front of William. He quickly removed his paw from his sisters, and glared at him. Samantha turned to look back out the window. After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, the giraffe asked again. ?No.? William said simply, mind grinding back into some semblance of functionality. Agitated, he turned away from the presumptuous interloper. He just wanted to talk to his sister! Could no one just let him?! He was about to try talking to Sam again, when the voice of the giraffe interceded again. ?Come on, man. There aren't any more seats!? William looked angrily up at him, then looked up and down the aisle. ?There's a spot over there. Leave us alone.? He pointed to a seat near the front. ?There's three furs in that seat! Just let me sit here!? ?I said no, now leave us alone!? William raised his voice, a threatening whine following his statement. The giraffe looked a little unnerved by Will, but he didn't back down. A couple of the other cubs in the vicinity looked at the two of them, and a few began whispering among themselves. ?What's your problem, dude?? He asked. William was about to respond when he felt a gentle paw on his shoulder. He whipped around to see Samantha looking at him. ?It's okay, Will,? she said. ?He can sit here.? ?Are you sure?? he asked. Sam nodded slightly. ?As long as your here, I feel safe.? William felt a warmth touch his heart. He turned back to the giraffe teen. ?Fine, you can sit here.? He promptly turned towards his sister and pulled her into a hug. The whole rest of of the twenty minute bus ride was extremely uncomfortable for all three of the cubs on that seat. William was angry that a chance to talk with Sam in peace had been yet again snatched from him and the giraffe boy didn't care for sitting near someone who was such an asshole. But it got worse as, listening to those around him, he learned why; The girl on the seat had been the victim of the rape a couple weeks ago and it was her first day back, and her bother, who had apparently brutally messed up the wolf that was hurting her. Sam could also hear the cubs around them talking, and it made her shrink into her seat. The last thing she wanted was attention, and it made her want to curl up and disappear. William saw Samantha's distress. He held her paw, and leaned protectively into her. Her look of thanks for the comfort was not lost on him, but he still wished that he had at least tried to talk Sam into letting mom drive them today. At least then, there would've been time before classes started that they could've talked. And there wouldn't have been a scene, either. When the bus finally pulled into the school parking lot and stopped, the giraffe was out of the seat and gone before Will could even turn his head. They waited for everyone else to pass them before getting up. Getting off the bus, Will asked, ?Do you want me to walk with you to class?? Samantha nodded an affirmative. ?Yeah.? Will took her paw in his own again, and began walking Samantha to her class. It felt like was a much greater distance going this way. And with all the other cubs and teachers moving about, it was much slower going to. They finally made it to her class just as the first homeroom bell rang, and Will saw Sam visibly jump, tail fluffing out. She turned and hugged him tight. Kneeling down, he leaned into her and whispered, ?It's okay Sam. You'll be alright, I know it.? He slipped his paw behind her, grabbing her tail and gently smoothed her fur down. ?You can leave if you want, don't forget. And I'll be here. I'll check on you between classes, okay?? He made to stand up, but Samantha's arms clamped down on him hard enough to keep him from going. ?I know,? Samantha whispered back to him. She clung to him like life raft, and only when the second bell rang, did she let him go. She turned around and walked into the class room hesitantly, looking over her shoulder at him. Finally entering, a few of her classmates turned to see who it was that was late, and proceeded to whisper as she walked by. She heard them all as she went past, no one troubling particularly hard to keep their voices down. All she heard was unfounded rumor, and nothing she heard was good. She knew she was going to be asked at some point what had actually transpired, and she wasn't sure if she could handle telling them. Or even if she should. Either way, this would be a long, uncomfortable day.
William stood at the door to the classroom a moment, watching Samantha walk to her desk. Rebecca wasn't in at class yet, and that surprised him, until he saw her coming down the hall from the direction he and Sam had come. He smiled weakly at her and called out a greeting, but didn't stick around. He was going to be late to class as it was, and he didn't really want to spend the little time he had left answering questions. He felt bad that Rebecca had been left entirely out of the loop in the last week and a half, and had no idea what had happened. Will hoped that Rebecca would be both discrete and understanding if Samantha wasn't immediately forthcoming. He knew the mouse girl had a bit of an impatient streak in her. The second bell rang as he was going up the stairs to the second floor. 'Shit,' William mumbled to himself as he picked up the pace. He burst out of stairwell and onto the second floor, and ran quickly past the few other straggling students. He bumped past a hall monitor, who called out to slow down. He turned the corner and into the hall where his homeroom and locker were located. Skidding to a stop, he grabbed the combo lock and quickly spun the combination. He stashed his bag and grabbed his English book. Will slammed the locker shut. If he was lucky, he knew, he might just make into homeroom before his name was called. Dashing the last few steps, he opened the door and slid in to hear, ?Perry, Daniel.? Entering into the room, Mr. Bradburn turned to face Will as a a call of 'Here' rang out behind him. ?You are late.? ?Sorry, Mr. Bradburn. My sister returned to school today, and I walked her to class. It won't happen again.? Mr. Bradburn's stern look softened a little. ?Ah, I see, and I understand. But see to it that it doesn't happen again.? He turned away from Will, and continued to call roll, dismissing him to his seat. He took a seat next to Micheal, and sighed. It was going to be a long day.
Samantha took her seat and looked around herself. Everything seemed normal, but for the fact that her friend wasn't here already. She turned to the door just in time to see Rebecca come in. She watched her as she made her way to the other side of the classroom. Her friend took her seat and looked over at Sam, concern in her eyes. She mouthed, 'are you okay?' and Sammy nodded back, not entirely sure it was the truth. She looked away, at her fellow classmates. A few were still sneaking surreptitious glances at her, but looked away when Mrs. Louabeck called the class to attention by rapping a straight edged ruler against her desk. Samantha jumped a full two inches out of her seat. Mrs. Louabeck began the roll call as if she had seen nothing. She went through the names, and eventually reached Pratchett. ?Here? Samantha mumbled. Mrs. Louabeck continued on. Her eyes were focused on the clipboard in front of her, and listening for the cubs to respond to roll call, and so didn't here or see as a student leaned across the aisle. ?Hey, Sam, you okay?? He asked. Samantha, not expecting the sudden intrusion to her thoughts, flinched, and looked up at boy. ?Y-yeah.? Samantha said hesitantly, not sure of the boys interest. She had never really spoken to him out side of group projects, and knew him to be a bit of a bully. ?Y-you?? ?I'm fine. Welcome back.? He smiled warmly at her, and she relaxed just a little. ?T-thanks,? She responded, still stumbling a little over her words. ?Are you sure you're okay?? He asked once more. ?I heard about what happened. I'm not sure I'd be okay after that.? ?I-I'm sure I'm okay. A-and I don't want to talk about it.? Sam said, turning away and shutting the boy down. ?Come on, you ca-? He started. ?Are you quite finished, Mr. Fischer?? Mrs. Louabeck said into the resounding silence of the classroom. He eeped, sitting bolt upright in his chair. ?Please refrain from bothering you classmates.? ?Y-yes, Mrs. Louabeck,? The boy said, casting his eyes down, a look of irritation on his face that clashed with the seeming warmth that he had started with. Mrs. Louabeck looked away from him and briefly at Samantha, compassion in her eyes. Samantha locked eyes with her, and then broke contact quickly. It was uncomfortable for her to know that the she knew at least some of the details of what had happened, but it was unavoidable. Mrs. Louabeck turned to the whiteboard and began putting up the class assignment. The boy across the aisle looked at her with curiosity, but something darker lurked deep inside his shining blue eyes. Thankfully, he remained mute. Later on, during the spelling test, Samantha looked up as something flashed in the class door window. It was her brother, come to check on her. She looked up, her heart fluttering briefly. For a moment, a smile lit her face. But William was only there for a moment. He smiled back, and was gone. ?Wasn't that your brother? Didn't he beat up that guy that touched you?? Samantha jumped, surprised by the whisper at her shoulder. She hadn't realized it, but she had leaned part way out into the aisle, and that boy had leaned over to her to speak. ?Wha-what?? She asked, looking over and seeing him right there, practically in her face. ?That boy in the window. He's your brother, right? Didn't he beat up that guy who touched you? He repeated. ?I-I said I don't want to talk about it,? Samantha said, sitting up straight in her chair and returning to her test. She was a little under prepared for it, having been out for most of the review, but her memory was good, and she was fairly certain that she was spelling the words correctly. ?You seemed pretty happy to see him,? he continued quietly. Samantha tried to ignore him. She didn't really know who he was. She wasn't going to just blurt everything out to him. She put her head down and started writing out the last word Mrs. Louabeck called out. Luckily, the boy left her alone after that, not wanting to get caught and chastised again, or turn in an incomplete test. After the test was a history review, but Mrs. Louabeck was to focused on the class for the boy to bother her any further. Afterwards was lunch and recess, which Sam was in desperate need of. She gathered up her pencils and papers to put in her bag, but as she bent over, the sound of a book snapping shut behind her caused her to jump and whine loudly. A couple of the cubs looked at her and laughed, but none so loudly as the cub behind her. Mrs. Louabeck looked over at the pair of cubs, watching, making sure that nothing more happened. Samantha stared at the boy, and he stared back, mirth in his eyes. She took him in fully now, staring at him angrily. He was tallish. Thick black fur that wasn't fluffy. He had a white stripe down his back that started on his head. She didn't know many badgers, but she could see this one had a penchant that matched his species. He was going to badger her until she slipped up and said something. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw King step up on one side of her, and Rebecca on the other. The boy, seeing that there was no point in making a fuss turned and left, swinging his tail wide. He missed his mark and banged his tail against his own desk. ?Ah, Fuck!? He said a little to loudly. ?Language, Mr. Fischer!? Mrs. Louabeck called out to the retreating cubs back. Rebecca put a paw on Samantha's shoulder. ?Was James bothering you?? ?Yes,? Samantha said, gaining some of her former confidence back with her friends proximity. ?He wouldn't stop asking about... About....? She trailed off. ?It's okay, Sam, you don't have to say anything.? King said, putting a paw on her other shoulder. ?Come on, lets go eat.? The three of them walked down the hall, being sure to keep their distance from James. Samantha went through the line to get the offered school lunch. It was french bread pizza with tater tots, just like every Friday, but it was the one meal here she actually liked. She felt drained, and wanted some sugar, so she picked up a bit of the apple cobbler that was being offered too. At the register, she handed over the four dollars and fifty cents that was her total, and went to go sit with her friends. The Cafeteria was crowded and noisy as usual, but it seemed somehow subdued. As she walked through, she could here snippets of conversation, but every now and then, a whisper would drift to her ears that was about her. It made her very uncomfortable to be the topic of so much discussion that wasn't soccer based. She found her friends at a smallish table in a corner, away from the door to the playground and other cubs. There were only seats for five, and only three were filled; Rebecca, King, and Lyra. Sam put her tray down and took a seat. Samantha finished eating about the same time as the other three. She didn't speak much, as normal, and none of her friends pressed her for any information. When everyone got up, she got up with them, deposited her trash in the can, then went out to the playground. It was brutally hot that day, and none of them really felt like running around. They all agreed that finding a spot of shade was the way to go. Unfortunately, since they hadn't been particularly fast eating, all four of the picnic benches were in use, so they had to find the most comfortable piece of ground they could. A few patches had already been taken, and Samantha wasn't too keen on sitting under the playscape, or anywhere that other cubs were going to be near by. A few small clusters of cubs here and there waved to them as they passed, one even offering to share their shade, but Samantha declined. On the far side of the grounds, where there were a handful of trees near one of the athletics fields, they finally found a suitable place to sit. For a few minutes, everyone sat in silence, everyone expecting someone else to say something, but the conversation from the table had died when it was interrupted by Samantha's declination to share shade. It continued to get more and more awkward until finally Samantha spoke up. ?About what happened...? She trailed off. King opened his mouth to speak, say that she didn't need to say anything, but Rebecca put a paw on his shoulder and shook her head. Samantha saw, and was internally grateful for Rebecca's stopping him. She wanted- no, needed to get this out. It was killing her inside, and telling it to her friends, people she trusted and weren't paid to ask and dig and force every little detail out... It was a therapy no paid professional could ever give her, no matter how well paid they were. Taking a deep breath, she started reliving the ordeal for what she hoped would be one of the last times.
William sat in his chair in a bit of a daze. He wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to Mr. Bradburn, as he was more worried about his sister. He wondered about how her class was going, and if her friends were happy to see her back. Rousing himself from his thoughts a little, he looked about the classroom. It was late in the year, so the windows were thrown open. Will hoped the open windows would tempt a passing breeze into coming in. The heat was seducing a good portion of his classmates into a stupor, and it was even having a noticeable impact on the teacher. Micheal was over in the corner where the two of them usually sat. Having arrived late, the seat next to him had been filled and now he was stuck almost on the opposite side of the class. William saw Micheal look up, and they locked eyes for a moment. There was merriment in Mike's eyes, but it faded to concern, William's worry for his sister plainly evident. It felt good to Will to know that his best friend still supported him, but though it helped to ease the tension in his gut, he still worried. William idly picked up his pencil and doodled on the paper. He just couldn't bring himself to be interested in the class. It was end of year review for science, and he just plain didn't care about it to begin with. Slowly, a decent sketch of his sister took form on the page. In the sketch, she was reclined on her bed in one of her few skirts. The lace ruffles on the hem were giving him some trouble. He couldn't seem to get the shading to look right. ?Mr. Pratchett,? Mr. Bradburn asked, startling him out of his zone. ?You look like you are taking some pretty intense notes. Perhaps you could tell us what the fourth state of matter is, and some of it's properties?? William's head snapped up hard enough to make an audible cracking noise, as he veritably leapt out of his skin. ?I, uhh...? He stuttered unintelligibly for a few seconds while his brain ground back into action. ?I-isn't it plasma? And it's just... Super-heated stuff?? Mr. Bradburn looked at William for a moment, eyebrows raised. ?Yes, as you so elegantly phrased it, Plasma is... Super-heated stuff. Thank you.? A few of Will's classmates chuckled, but Mr. Bradburn smiled after he said that, showing Will that he wasn't irritated in the slightest by the lack luster response. He was grateful; normally, Mr. Bradburn was very stringent about goofing off and not paying attention in class. A short time later, class was dismissed, and Will gathered his things quickly. He ran to his locker and switched books for his economics class. Instead of heading straight to class though, he ran down the flights of stairs to the first floor and all the way to the other side of the building where Samantha's classroom was. Taking only a second to compose himself, he looked into the room. Samantha was there, head down as her teacher spoke a word, and she wrote it down. Will saw her look around. For a brief second, they locked eyes. She smiled, and then he had to run. He was relieved that she seemed to be doing well; it felt like a bit of weight had fallen off his shoulders and his heart. Will ran all the way back to the other side of the building, then up the stairs. He skidded to a halt outside the door to the next class as the teacher, Mr. Scott, was beginning to close the door. ?Cutting it a little close there,? Mr. Scott said to Will as he came to a complete stop. ?S-sorry, M-Mr. Scott.? William said, panting hard. ?Why are you so out of breath? Isn't your previous period class just a few doors down?? ?Yeah. But I went to go check on my sister. She came back today.? ?Oh, so you just sprinted the length of the building twice, didn't you?? Mr. Scott said, a look of concern, and sorrow overcoming him momentarily. William only nodded. ?Well, come on, we are waiting for you.? Mr. Scott stood aside to let Will inside. He went and took a seat. Sadly, Micheal wasn't in this class with him. He instead had history for third period. Taking a seat, he pulled out his notebook, and again lost himself in his drawing. Forty-five minutes later, he was getting up and walking down towards the cafeteria for lunch, but he wasn't hungry. In spite of being worried about how Sam's day was going, and drawing a picture of her in his notebook, he found himself thinking about his relationship with Micheal. He was certainly getting over it, but he still cared very much for him, and couldn't help but to think about all the good times they'd had together. Stopping in front of his locker, he grabbed only the apple from his home lunch, and consumed it quickly as he wandered off, lost in thought. Ten minutes later, William found his paws carrying him out the back door of the school, towards the athletics course. It was a track that ran a ring around the football field, the second of three sports fields the school had. The track was a workout course, more of a general fitness and obstacle thing than a track, and it was filled with bushes and trees. It was seldom used outside of gym classes, and it had lots of quiet, out of view spots that one could sit and think. His favorite spot was behind a large sign that had several calisthenics exercises on it. It was about six feet by six feet, with it's bottom edge flush with the ground. It was surrounded by low, dense, flowering shrubbery that extended about twenty feet in either direction and formed a little clear pocket behind it that was exceptionally well hidden from view. He squeezed in between the shrubs, and sat down with his back to the sign to think about all the good times he and Micheal had, and his feelings for him. ?I knew you would be here when you didn't show up at lunch.? William looked up to see Micheal squeezing in between the bushes from which he had only moments before pushed through himself. ?Hey Mike.? ?Worried about Sam?? ?Yeah, but I was actually just thinking about you.? ?You were? I hope it was something good.? Micheal grinned. ?Of course. I was thinking about all the fun we've had. I still care about you.? ?I still care about you too,? Micheal said, coming to sit next to Will. He put a paw on his shoulder. ?I still think about you at night, when I'm alone. About the things we did when we were boyfriends. But you know that just because we aren't together anymore, doesn't mean the good times have to stop. It just means we aren't boyfriends anymore.? ?I know,? William responded. ?It still feels weird though. I love Samantha, but I still think about you sometimes, too.? Micheal put a paw on Will's leg. ?Do you remember the last time we were back here?? Michael asked. ?How could I? It was just a month ago, and we were almost caught.? ?Because you tied me when I told you not too.? Micheal stuck his tongue out at him. ?Man, Mr. Sinatra was so pissed that we were twenty minutes late for class. I'm pretty sure he could smell that something was up.? ?Yeah he was. I'm still surprised he didn't give us a detention.? Micheal said. ?Was probably afraid we'd start fooling around in the back of the classroom.? William chuckled ?Yeah, and we probably would've too, if he left long enough.? Micheal looked at his watch, then at Will, before rubbing his inner thigh. Will was surprised, but he was still a horny teen, and it took only seconds for his body to betray him, killing objections before they could even be voiced. His paw moved over to Micheal's, pulling his paw into his lap. Micheal smiled, happy he could take his best friends mind off of his brooding thoughts. And he still cared for him, still thought he was one of the hottest foxes he had ever known. He groped Will, feeling his sheath begin swelling. William gasped. Even remembering that Micheal had told him that they could still fool around, he hadn't honestly expected that they ever would, let alone so soon. And until he felt his paw on his thigh, didn't think he'd ever really want to. Nevertheless, he ground his hips into Micheal's paw, eyes closed and enjoying the feel of his closest friend touching him. William felt a shift, and the paw drew away. He opened his eyes and was about to pout when he saw that Micheal had stood, and was unzipping his shorts. He pushed them and his boxers down to his ankles. William hesitated, but his body urged him onward, and so he unzipped too, and wiggled his shorts and underwear down to his knees. His penis was still mostly in his sheath, but seeing Micheal's fully erect, throbbing cock, moist and glistening in the dappled, early afternoon light caused his own to surge. Micheal knelt over William, straddling his legs and bringing their cocks together. He confidently wrapped a paw around them, pulling them together and began to stroke. He started slow, letting the natural wetness slick up his paw and ease the friction. William huffed; the feel of Micheal's paw and their hot members rubbing together felt so good. Micheal leaned in, pressing his body against Will, increasing the friction as their groins were pressed into each other harder. Will ground his hips up into Micheal's paw, the pleasure already beginning to well up inside him. Pre-cum dripped from their tips, dribbling down and being massaged into their cocks, keeping them well lubricated against the days heat trying to dry them out. ?O-oh god, M-Mike,? Will moaned, feeling him increase the pace of his stroking. Micheal could only pant in response, all his concentration bent to the task of bringing them to a mutual orgasm. Will fit one of his paws between their bodies, and wrapped it around Micheal's. He then put his other arm around Micheal's back, and pulled him in closer, increasing the pressure. They moaned together, struggling to remain quiet as they ground their cocks together, stroking in tandem. William slid to the side and onto his back. The motions of their bodies prevented his back from remaining firmly pressed against the back of the sign. They paused briefly in their rubbing and grinding as they fell back into the dirt. A soft chuckle came to Micheal's lips as he found himself fully on top of Will. ?It's not like you to top,? Will said, mirroring Micheal's chuckle. ?But I do sometimes.? He replied, bringing his muzzle closer to Will, grinning. William could feel the warm exhalation across his muzzle, and the desire to kiss Micheal overcame him as he looked into his eyes. The grin was not just a lustful one; it was tender, and caring too. He could see that a similar desire had surfaced in him, and they both blushed, ears turning red. They looked away from each other, but the moment wasn't lost. Micheal began stroking again, with Will quickly following suit with his own paw, and they began grinding into each other hard. Their panting got louder and louder as they each drove the other towards their peek. The pre-cum was making a mess of their crotch fur, their cocks gliding smoothly against each other and through their gripping paws. ?Ah, Mike, I... I-I'm cumming!? William moaned. Micheal nodded his head, his panting very loud in his ear. ?S-so am I-I!? They could each feel the others penis throb as they orgasmed, their cum mixing together and squirting onto William's stomach. Micheal sagged on top Will for a few moments, both of them basking in the afterglow. He could feel their mixed seed seeping into his fur, could feel Will's cock slowly going limp and receded into his sheath while his did the same. William pushed up against Micheal. ?Hey, Mike, you're kinda heavy.? ?Are you calling me fat?? Micheal asked, rising up slowly. William chuckled at that. It felt almost like they were together again. He looked between them, at their matted crotch fur. The tip of his own cock was still out and oozing a small amount of cum. He was glad his knot hadn't come free of his sheath, or he would never have made it to class on time. ?How are we going to clean this up?? ?Like you really needed to ask that,? Micheal teased. He backed up so that his muzzle was over Will's crotch, and began to lick up the mess that they had made from his fur. After a few moments, Will's sheath and lower stomach was damp, but relatively clean and clear of cub seed. While he had been at that, a fair amount of what had gotten into Micheal's fur had simply dripped out, forming a small damp spot on the ground. But there was still quite a mess left. Sitting back, Micheal asked, ?You want to clean me up?? William was tempted. It was something he liked to do for Micheal, the same as he did for him. But he wasn't really feeling it this time around. But he didn't really want to leave his best friend high and dry, either. He ended up making a non-commital noise instead. ?It's okay if you don't. I actually happen to have a couple napkins from lunch in my pocket,? Micheal said. He dug around in his pocket, and sure enough, withdrew a couple of relatively intact, if crumpled napkins. Micheal began wiping his sheath off, but after a couple of wipes, William's paw stopped him, and took the napkins. He may not have wanted to lick the seed from his friend today, but he could still help him clean. Using short, gentle strokes, Will cleaned his friend of their cum. It took several minutes to get it all out, because in spite of there being less, it had also had time to dry. A couple of times, Will had to wet the napkins with spit to get some of it out. Dropping the napkins to the ground, Will pronounced Micheal clean, pushed himself off of his knees, and pulled up his pants and underwear. Next to him, his friend did the same. Micheal moved in front of William, and put his arms around him. ?That was fun. I hope we can do that again. I've really missed the sex.? ?Is that all you missed?? William asked. ?What? Of course not!? Micheal pulled away and lightly bapped Will on the nose. Will smiled, and pulled out his phone to check the time. It was almost 12:45, the end of lunch period. ?We should probably get going. Next period starts soon, and I want to go check on Sam before then.? ?Sure,? Micheal said, looking at his watch, to see for himself. ?Yeah, okay. Like ten minutes. I'm gonna go use the bathroom, I'll see you when you get to class.? He turned, and edged his way into the bushes. Will scuffed the dirt with his sneaker, already lost in thought about what he and Micheal had just done. A moment later, he followed. William wasn't far from the gymnasium, and so headed off in that direction. It was still a bit of a trip, since the school was huge. He jogged, and was there in relatively short order. He turned the corner, saw the door, and stopped. This was the first time he stood before this door since it had happened. William could still see it; it was backed up to the gym, could see how it was bouncing a little. He could even hear the whimpers of his sister emanating from it. Stepping forward, Will clenched his fist, claws biting into the flesh of his palm though the fur. A shadow over head blotted out the sun momentarily. He blinked, and the van was gone, and there was no evidence to support it having ever been there. Looking up, he saw a hawk flying over head, circling lazily on an updraft. With an effort, Will moved forward, towards the door. He could feel his heart pounding, an echo of the adrenaline surge that had filled him when he opened the vans back door. Every step he took felt strained. Upon reaching the door, Will put his paw on the nob, and registered the touch not of cold metal, but of flesh, and he flinched back. He shook his head, as if it could throw the out of place sensation from his head. It partially worked, and grabbed the door to pull it open. But it wouldn't budge. For once, it was locked. He should've realized that after what had happened, new security measures would've been taken to prevent students from using that door. Shaking his head, he turned and jogged towards the front entrance, pulling his phone out again and checked the time as he went. He had only five minutes. He picked up the pace. Inside he turned down the hall and trotted to Samantha's class. The halls were mercifully empty here, and he arrived at the door only a minute later. Inside, he saw her at her desk. She had her head bent down, much like when he had checked on her earlier that morning. But now, instead of writing, she was reading. Will could hear the teacher reading an excerpt from the book, and Samantha was reading along with her. It filled William with warmth to see Samantha doing well on her trial day back at school. He had worried that she would have problems, and would need to be picked up. But now, over halfway through the day, he was sure that she would be going home with him. He watched for a moments. A few strands of her auburn hair fell over her face, and she brushed them back, tucking them behind her ears. His heart fluttered. She looked so beautiful... The sound of the next period bell rang, startling him from his thoughts. He turned, and ran as fast as he could for his class. He thanked his lucky stars that the next class was a study hall, didn't actually require him to bring anything with him, and was slightly closer than the last too. A short but intense run later, he squeezed into the classroom, winded but on time. He had even had a second to stop by his locker and grab the book he need to read for English. He looked around for Micheal, knowing he was here, found him, and set himself heavily down into the chair next to him. Micheal gave him a questioning look, but didn't speak as the teacher closed the class door. Will just nodded, opened the book, and started reading.
Finally, the day was over. Samantha never thought it was going to end. Between the near constant badgering of James, the looks of the faculty, talking about what had happened with her closest friends, the days heat and the dull drone of Mrs. Louabeck, she felt drained. She just wanted to go home and be near Will. He always made her feel better. As the end of day bell rang on into infinity, she got up, gathered her supplies, and joined the exodus of other cubs moving towards the front of the building where the buses were all waiting to take them home. Out front, Samantha said good bye to Rebecca, who then took off towards home, and took a seat on one of the benches. Moments later, King and Lyra walked by, and they said their good-byes as well, before finding their respective buses and disappearing from view. Quietly, she sat amid the chaos, waiting for William to come so that they could get on the bus together. The crowd of cubs began to thin, and the first bus trundled forward slowly, preparing to leave. What was taking Will so long? She turned around to look at the front entrance. There he was! He was coming down the steps, and he was on the phone. Who was he talking to? She watched him reach the bottom, pause, hang up his phone and put it into his shorts pocket, then look around until he spotted her. She smiled at him as he approached. ?Hey Sam. How was your first day back?? Will said, taking a seat on the bench a handspan away from her. ?It wasn't to bad. A jerk in class kept bugging me about what happened, but left me alone after he got in trouble. Rebecca, King, and Lyra also stood up to him for me. Thanks for coming and checking on me this morning.? Samantha inched over until her hip was touching Will's. ?I checked on you after lunch too. Was almost late for class both times.? William smiled, but then his face darkened a little. ?Who was it that was bothering you?? ?It was a badger boy named James. He sits next to me in class.? ?Let me know if that little dickwad bothers you again.? ?Okay. Who were you talking too?? Samantha asked, leaning into her brother a little. ?Dad. I don't feel like riding the bus or walking, and I didn't think you would have a problem with getting away from everyone. I'm glad I called when I did though. If I had waited another minute, I might have missed them. As it is, he's just gonna come, pick us up, drop us off at home, then He and Mom are leaving.? ?Okay. It's been awhile since Mom and Dad went on an overnight business trip at the same time, hasn't it?? ?Yeah.? William said, putting his arm around Sam's shoulder and hugging her. Around them, the flood of students was slowing down fast to just trickle. In front of them, only a half dozen of the eighteen buses that had been there only two minutes ago still remained, and those were nearly full. After a quiet, restless moment, Samantha got up to stretch her legs. She walked off a short way and Will watched, eyes drawn to the graceful curve of her legs, her swaying tail, and the cascade of red hair down her back. The desire to twine his fingers in those long locks made his fingers twitch. A sudden grip on his shoulder made Will jump in his seat. He looked up to see Micheal smiling and leaning in down towards him. ?If you stare any harder, your gonna burn a hole in her back,? He whispered playfully. He stood back up and stretched his arms a little, shirt lifting up and revealing his lithe stomach. ?I'm walking home today. I took to long in the bathroom. You wanna hang out later? Maybe sleep over, since it's Friday?? Will shook his head. ?No. Mom and Dad are out of town tonight, and I want to spend time with Sam. I haven't really had a chance to talk to her since...? Will trailed off. ?Gotchya,? Micheal said, looking at Will with a knowing look. ?I'm get going now. I still need to finish that last book report before summer vacation starts, and if you won't be over, I think I'd rather get it out of the way now and not have to worry about it later.? He looked over to where Samantha was walking slowly towards them, using the curb like a balance beam. ?See ya later, Sam!? Samantha's head jerked up, hearing Micheal call out to her, and she almost lost her balance. Her tail went wide, as did her arms so she didn't fall. ?Bye!? She yelled back, before bending her eyes back down to the curb. William watched Micheal walk away, following behind as the second to last buss rolled up to the exit. Not many cubs left now. There were just a few here and there waiting for parents to come and pick them up, just like himself and his sister. He turned to watch Sam as she walked another half-dozen steps toward him on the curb and finally lost her footing. She kept her paws under her though, and ran the short distance towards Will. Behind her, a familiar light green Prius was making it's way up the bus lane. ?Dad's here,? He said, getting up and holding his paw out for Sam. Together, they went to the curb, and waited for their Dad to come to a stop in front of them. Samantha opened the back door and scooted in quickly. ?Hi Daddy, she said, placing her backpack down between her paws. ?Hey Pumpkin, how was your trial day back at school?? Samantha looked at Will, who was settling into the car himself, before answering. ?It was fine. I got some weird looks from the teachers, but it was otherwise fine.? Will looked at her, head tilted slightly in confusion. Why didn't she say anything about the boy on the bus that morning, or the cub from class? Samantha shook her head slightly, but said nothing to him about it. ?How was your day, Will?? ?It was fine. Classes were boring; it was almost all review, just like the last two weeks.? ?Any homework, you two?? He asked, putting the car into drive and taking off for home. ?I got a couple of worksheets, but like Will said, it's all review stuff. It felt like I really hadn't missed a day.? ?And I just got to finish reading this one book for English, and do a book report, due next Wednesday. I got just a couple chapters left, I'll finish it tonight.? They turned a corner, and traveled a minute in silence, before pulling up into the driveway. ?Okay, we're here. Out you get, you two. Tell your mother to hurry up, or we might be late.? ?Okay, Dad!? William and Samantha chorused together, exiting the car. Will took Sam's bag as they walked to the front door. Inside, Lissandra greeted her cubs. ?Hello kits,? she said, setting down the two night bags she was carrying. ?How was school?? Taking his from Sam's earlier response, he said, ?School was fine. Sam's day back was nice and smooth too.? ?Ah, that's good,? Lissandra replied, getting down on her knees and drawing them both into a quick hug. ?I'm sorry I can't stick around, but I got to go. I didn't have time to make dinner, and you know your dad is hopeless at anything other than chopping vegetables. So I put some money on the table. Go ahead and order out if you want.? She kissed the top of their heads, then stood up. ?Alright, your father and I are off, we will be back towards the late afternoon tomorrow, okay?? ?Okay Mom!? Samantha said. Lissandra looked over her two cubs one last time, picked up the two night bags, and left. William and Samantha crowded into the door frame, waving to their parents as they pulled out of the drive and left. William's heart pounded, as he watched them leave. He was going to be alone with Samantha for nearly twenty-four hours. Next to him, Samantha was feeling the same way. She could feel as her inner ears turned red. She wanted to jump on him, tell him that she loved him. But Like him, she was too nervous to say or do anything just yet. But also like Will, she yearned for it, and she knew that tonight, everything was going to come out. She turned around, looked at Will, grabbed her book-bag, and went up stairs.
