Awakening
Shadow's Tale Part 4: Awakening
"What is inside of me...it frightens me...I'm not sure I'll ever have complete control over it."
Shadow was again lost in his dreams. This time there was no light. Only darkness. He saw nothing in the darkness.
"I KNOW YOUR THERE! SHOW YOURSELF!" Shadow yelled. "WHAT HAPPENED JUST NOW!? WHAT ARE YOU!?" Shadow's yells came in vain. There was no response to be heard.
Shadow lowered his head feeling defeated. The last time he was in the darkness he felt heavy, but now he felt fine. Shadow fell to his hands and knees. "Please, come to me. Tell me what you are. What do I have to do? Please say something." Shadow begged. Not sure now if anyone was actually there.
He felt himself quiver in fear. Please...what do I have to do? I'm scared. He realized that is wasn't him quivering, but the darkness around him. He stood up slowly. What's happening?
All of a sudden he felt a gust of strong wind come from behind him and rush forward. The gale was so strong that Shadow had to move a foot back to brace against it. Shadow closed his eyes tight waiting for the wind to stop.
As quickly as the wind started it stopped. Shadow opened his eyes and saw the darkness had all moved to a single point in front of him. It moved like a wave.
Shadow moved toward it. He reached a paw out to touch it. When he did it burst into the form of a feral wolf the same height as Shadow. Shadow jumped back surprised.
The wolf had long thick black fur and the same red markings Shadow got. It stood watching Shadow with its dark blood red eyes.
"What are you?" Shadow asked.
The wolf smiled. "I am Sinos, The wolf god." The wolf proclaimed.
Shadow folded his ears back slightly. "Wolf god? What do you mean?" He asked confused.
"Well, Rehonden told Asagai so I will tell you." the wolf sat down and motioned for Shadow to come closer. Shadow didn't move. "Oh come now. I don't bite." He said mockingly showing his large sharp teeth.
Shadow moved closer and sat in front of the wolf. "So you were what I saw earlier?"
"Yes." The wolf nodded.
"You were much bigger then." Shadow said a little confused.
"Yes that was my true size. I toke a smaller form to seem less threatening." The wolf said looking down at Shadow.
"Well no offense...but it didn't work." Shadow said quietly.
The wolf frowned. "Well how about this." The wolf closed his eyes and began to shrink. He stopped when both were sitting down they were eye level.
"Well that helps." Shadow said with a smile.
"Good...now where to begin?" the wolf looked down. "Well first about...the gods. There are eight beast gods. I am one of them. And the lion you saw is too."
"Asagai?"
"No, Rehonden he was the lion the appeared behind Asagai."
"Oh."
"Yes, the others...Well because you lost your memory I lost some of mine too. I cant remember the others names, but I know their species. The others are a fox, tiger, leopard, bear, lemur, and cheetah. Long ago we all lived in peace watching over our own species. Then...there was a problem." The wolf looked down.
"What happened?" Shadow asked curiously.
"Well the lions Rehonden was watching over got restless and started to attack other species. If I remember correctly they attacked the cheetahs first. This led to a dispute among the gods. Rehonden was not supporting his species choice but was infuriated by how the cheetahs reacted.
"Eventually all the species got caught up in it. And it was an all out war. The gods wanted to help their species, but in our god forms we could do nothing. So we toke on the forms of anthros to help. I toke command of the largest army of wolves I could find. Our anthro forms drastically reduced our power, enough to make the war last ten years."
"Ten years?" Shadow was shocked.
"Yes it was brutal, so many died for no reason. But when the war finally did end..."
"Who was victorious?"
"That's the thing, there was no real victor. So there was still tension between the gods and the anthros, also when the war ended we found out he couldn't return to out god states."
"Why?"
"It seems spending so much time in the anthro form depleted our power enough to makes us almost mortal. The only way we could gain our power was to live as gods again. And there was only one way to do that."
"What was it?" Shadow was deeply interested now.
Sinos looked into Shadow's eyes...and smiled. "Well. We had to combine bodies with someone that resembled our anthro forms. Then as they lived their life we would be gods inside them. Slowly gaining our power back, but this could not happen in one mortal life time. So when our current possessor died we were transferred to another that resembled us. The first possessors were over a hundred years ago."
"What?" Shadow was surprised.
"Yes, we soon found out we were not regenerating our power, but draining life energy from our possessor. Drastically shorting their life span, but you. You have more power than the others. You were born with strong energy. You have a energy coming from somewhere else. You have so much energy to spare you have been throwing around your whole life and haven't noticed."
"What do you mean? I mean I know I'm strong but. What energy are you talking about."
"I'm not sure, but you can regenerate my powers in a few years and keep a normal life span." Sinos's tail began to wag. "You just have to accept me as a part of you. And accept the power I have that you can use as you wish."
"Well." Shadow stood up. "I'm not the kind to turn away a god." Shadow smiled. Sinos barked excited and began to grow to be eye level with Shadow again. "Plus, if I want to kill Asagai I need all the power I need."
"Don't worry, I will train you in how to harness your power and combine with mine." Sinos smiled a large grin.
"Good. Now how do I accept your power exactly?" Shadow asked tilting his head to the side.
Sinos lowered his head. "Place you right paw on my forehead."
Shadow did as he was instructed. When his paw connected he raised his head and gasped. It felt like a wave of fire was spreading from his paw to his whole body in an instant. Shadow growled loudly.
"Calm down! You must endure it!" Sinos growled back.
Shadow tried to calm himself. He looked at his paw. He saw the red markings return moving up his arm and spreading down his back and around his waist. They moved up his abs tracing his muscles. When the reached his peck the formed wolf paw prints of each side.
The pain started to subside. And Sinos started to fade. "Good you did well. Most scream out during that. And don't worry the markings will fade till you want to use my power."
Shadow gasped for air. "Thank you...I can feel the power already." Sinos smiled one last time before he faded away completely.
Shadow's mind started to return to him. He felt dizzy when he tried to sit up. He placed his paw on his head. "Why is it every time I wake up I have a throbbing headache?"
"I don't know. Why do you think?" A voice came inside Shadow's head.
"What? Sinos is that you?" Shadow asked.
"Yes. Now that you have accepted me I can talk to you whenever."
"Well could you be quiet? My head feels like its going to explode." Shadow said closing his eyes tighter.
"Don't worry its just some side effects form the power. It will pass."
Shadow groaned lightly. "How long do you think?"
"An hour at the most."
Shadow and Sinos remained quiet after that. Shadow opened his eyes to see where he was. He recognized the interior of the building made of animal skins he woke up in three nights ago. "So we're back here?" Shadow said questionably.
"It would seem so. Wait for the pain to pass and then go out."
Shadow obeyed Sinos and laid back down and closed his eyes. Shadow opened his eyes and moved his paw to his face. He saw the red markings still on him but faded. Almost gone. "I thought you said these would disappear?"
"They will, at the same time the headache does.'
Shadow laid his paw back at his side and signed. He know something was wrong but he could figure out what. He felt like he was...different and it wasn't the power he felt. He felt changed. like a different wolf. His thoughts were interrupted by the sudden relief in his head.
He stood up and walked towards the flap of the building. "I'm going to go dormant for a while." Sinos said in his head.
"Ok." Shadow replied. He figured dormant meant Sinos was sleeping. He lifted the flap and the sun hurt his eyes. He threw his arm him front of his face to block the sun. once his eyes adjusted he looked around the little village.
There were similar buildings on two sides of a small road. One end of the road led to a open field where Shadow saw the tree from before. The other end led to more of the village he had not seen. There where different foxes walking around carrying different things.
Shadow looked to the towards the right where the road led to more of the village. There was a small opening in the road where he saw a whole group of wolves sitting close to each other. He noticed some of them looking at him and others avoiding looking at him. He looked back at himself to see the markings had still not faded. Also his fur was caked in blood and dirt.
He thought to himself he should clean up before he went to see them, but a doubt crept into his mind. What if they don't want to see me? I know I saved them, but... I left them for a year, and I changed. They might be scared of me. This scared Shadow. If his own family were scared of him what could he do.
He saw one of the wolves stand up and start to walk towards him. Another wolf tried to stop him. As the wolf came closer he saw It was his father Angi. He stiffened. He was a monster last night. How would his father react?
When Angi reached him they just stood staring at each other. Finally Angi said the first word. "You...have changed so much...you may not be the Shadow we all remember...but I still love you as much as I did the day you were born." Shadow was shocked that his father still felt this way after what he saw Shadow become.
Shadow let Angi's words sink in. Then he started to sob. "I'm...sorry father...if I was there sooner I could have save Lenith." He remembered hearing Krystal call his mother that.
"NO! Don't blame yourself! That's what you always do! You take all the burden on yourself and don't let anyone help! Please Shadow...don't do that to yourself." Angi was trying to protect his son from feeling the pain of guilt.
Shadow cried. "I'm sorry father."
"Don't be sorry." Angi pulled Shadow into a hug. "Please...don't be sorry...be happy that you help us live...be thankful for that." Shadow cried lowly into his fathers chest. Angi was a large wolf that stood taller then Shadow and was much more toned.
Shadow broke the hug and dried his eyes. "Ok father..." he looked at the other wolves. By now all of them, and some of the foxes, were watching the two. Shadow smiled slightly in their directions. He noticed some smiled back.
"You need to clean up." Angi said repeating Shadow's thought. He pointed over the line of buildings opposite them. "If you head that way you'll come to a tree line. Farther in you should find three waterfalls on top of each other. You should clean up there and come back."
"Ok. Thank you." Shadow said then ran toward the buildings and jumped onto one of them. He turned back to face the other wolves and waved to them. Then he jumped down on the other side and exploded in the direction of the tree line.
Shadow ran so fast he was surprised. What the hell? How am I this fast? I'm not even using Shadow Step? The thought left his mind when he almost collided with a tree. In his surprise he put his feet up to push off the tree as he hit it. When he did this the tree exploded as he pushed off. He flew straight back and landed five feet away from the tree.
Shadow looked at the shattered trunk amazed. "Is this my new power? Guess I can't control it yet." he walked forward into the forest. He decided not to run because the trees were think in this part of the forest.
As he walked farther and farther the trees began to thin out and grass was replaced with pebbles. After a few minutes of walking he heard running water. Must be close now. Shadow walked a little farther and found the three waterfalls Angi spoke of.
He came out of the trees between the second and third fall which was the farthest of about twenty-five feet high. The other two were about ten feet high. Shadow signed and walked toward the water.
Shadow stood over the moving water and saw his reflection. The markings had completely faded now. He toke off his pants and walked out into the river. At the deepest it was up to just over his knees. He walked over to the waterfall and stood under it.
Shadow could sense the presence of someone else near, but seemed like he didn't. He closed his eye and tilted his head up to the water. He felt the blood and dirt flow off him with the water.
Shadow was then aware of the presence now in the river with him. He continued to seem like he was unaware. When the water rippled in a way that told Shadow the person had stopped behind him he turned around and was a little surprised.
In front of him stood Krystal. She had one of her paws on her chest and she had tears in her eyes looking up at Shadow. She wore a pair of panties and a loose fitting tank top, but not so loose that it didn't show her breasts. Shadow figured she got these from Luna.
"Krystal...what are you doing here?" Shadow asked.
"I-I saw you coming this way and...I wanted to be with you." She said through her tears.
"Why are you crying?" Shadow asked putting his paws lightly on her shoulders.
"Because...because I missed you so much...and now you're here...its hard to believe I'm not dreaming." She said her tears fading.
Shadow pulled her towards his chest and wrapped his arms around her. "I am here...its not a dream...and I will keep you safe." Shadow remembered parts of his past. He may not have all the pieces, but seeing all of this did bring some things back.
He remembered why he fell in love with Krystal. Her innocence always attracted him, but now after what happened to her. The innocence was gone. All that was left was her body. To seemed like they had taken her soul away from her. And Shadow brought it back.
"Shadow...please don't leave me." Krystal begged. Shadow didn't answer. He picked her up and walked over to the shore. He placed Krystal on her feet and held her close.
"I wish I could promise that...but...so much has changed. Please Krystal forgive me." Shadow said into her ear.
"You don't need to promise anything...and I don't need to forgive you...just...just say you still love me." Krystal started to cry in his arms.
"Krystal."
"Please just say it."
"I love you." Shadow leaned in to kiss her and she stretched up to meet his kiss. They kissed for a long time. Their tongues exploring each others mouth. Krystal broke the kiss and moved her forehead to Shadow's chest.
"Shadow...do you remember why I fell in love with you?" Shadow was a little shocked. No one had told her he lost his memory.
"No...I don't."
Krystal smiled. "It was how you talked. You always seemed calm. And you could make anyone feel better. It seems like a silly reason now, but back then all I wanted was to be with you." Krystal signed at the thought of their past.
"Its not a silly reason. Many people like to spend time with me." Shadow smiled trying to make her feel better. They stood there in each others arms, until they heard something coming from the trees.
Shadow let go of Krystal and pushed her behind him in a defensive manner. A figure emerge from the trees. It was Kite. Shadow relaxed at the sight of his friend.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Kite said looking at Shadow with a grin.
Shadow noticed he was still naked. "No. Its ok." He walked over to his pants and slipped them on. "So...why did you come here?"
Kite's expression instantly changed. "We need to talk." His expression was hard and cold. Kite turned back to the trees. "Follow me."
Shadow looked at Krystal and the two of them followed Kite. The three of them walked towards the large field on the other side of all the trees. When they reached the edge of the trees Kite stopped. "Krystal doesn't need to hear this."
Shadow was going to say something, but Krystal spoke first form behind him. "Anything you say to Shadow you say to me." Shadow was surprised by how forceful she was. The innocence had defiantly faded.
Kite grunted. "Fine. Shadow you have a god inside you correct?"
Shadow was surprised. How does Kite know about the gods? Shadow thought to himself.
"It is as I thought." Sinos's voice appeared in Shadow's head.
What do you mean?
"One of the gods is a fox remember. I believe Kite posses one."
Shadow looked at Kite. He say no indication to support Sinos's theory, but he had to be careful. "Yes...I have a god in me."
"Shadow what do you mean?" Krystal said.
"Kite was right...you don't need to hear this." Shadow said coldly.
Krystal was taken aback. Then said forcefully. "You never hid anything from me! This will be no different!"
Shadow signed. "As you wish, but please stay quiet." Shadow walked past Kite and into the field. "Well why do you ask me about my god?"
Kite walked next to Shadow. "I had to be sure. You have power, but no control. I can teach you. If you accept that is."
Sinos what should I do?
"Agree with him...for now...I know you want to trust him, but things are different now."
I understand. Shadow looked at Kite "Ok I accept what will you teach me first?"
Kite smiled. "The basics of course. How to summon your god at will." Kite walked farther into the field then faced Shadow. "Watch and learn."
Kite closed his eyes and toke a deep breath in. The area around the two started to darken like the night before. The trees and Krystal faded into the darkness. "This is the state only the gods and possessors can see. Now to summon." Kite concentrated. Shadow noticed a change in Kite's power. What was once nothing was now quickly rising.
Then shapes started to appear on Kite's fur. And light blue circle appeared on his stomach. Nine blue lines moved off the circle in different directions. Two centered and moved up his chest and up his chin and stopped under his eyes. Two on either side did the same but stopped under his chin. The other five moved out towards his back. They all crossed on his back turning up towards the back of his neck. One stopped at the base of his neck. The other four moved to his face, two on each side. On both sides of the two one stayed straight and stopped over lapping the two under his eyes. The other moved and meet at the center of his forehead.
"The markings are different for each god. As you can see mine are different from yours. Now...COME MY SEANDOR!" A light flashed and Shadow was temporarily blinded. When he could see again behind Kite stood a large white fox with the same markings as Kite. The fox had solid blue eyes and nine tails.
"Is this why you summoned me? For this puny thing?" The fox spoke slowly and deeply.
"Now now Seandor. Don't you recognize an old friend?" Kite smiled.
Seandor approached Shadow. Shadow toke a defensive stance, not sure what Seandor would do. When the fox reached Shadow he leaned down and sniffed Shadow. "Ah yes...I remember you now. You are an old friend of Kite's." He toke another sniff. "And...I smell Sinos's power on you." Seandor walked back to Kite. "You want me to train him?"
Kite nodded. "It seems he has taken Sinos's power...but he has not awakened." Kite crossed his arms. "There is only one way to awaken him."
Shadow was confused. "What do you mean awaken?"
Kite signed. "When one of us awaken. It means we are able to summon our god as we please. I awoke shortly after you all disappeared. I awoke when our village was attacked by demons. They toke Luna...and I snapped."
"What do you mean demons?"
"In our world occasionally there are rips in our dimension. And demons come through to cause so much havoc as possible."
"What do you mean dimensions?" Shadow was intrigued and confused.
This time Seandor spoke irritated. "You don't know much do you? There are four dimension. Yours which is earth. The gods which is heaven. Hell belongs to the demons. And we know the fourth dimension exists but we don't know what is in it. Now lets get down to your awakening." Seandor was tired of explaining things and leapt in the air to Shadow.
Shadow gasped and jumped back, but he was late, as Seandor landed he swiped at Shadow connecting and sending him flying to the right. Shadow tried to regain his balance. When he was steady he used Shadow Step to return back to in front of Kite. "What the hell was that?"
Kite laughed. "The only way for you to awake is to be in a life threatening situation."
"So your going to have Seandor try to kill me?" Shadow was terrified.
Again Kite laughed. "Well we know your stronger than me. And if I tried I could kill you."
"ENOUGH TALK!" Seandor yelled and lunged back at Shadow. Kite vanished and appeared on Seandor's back. Shadow ducked to the ground. When Seandor was over him he slammed his fist into the god's stomach. Seandor grunted lightly.
Shadow gasped, that was his strongest hit and he barley did anything. He slid under Seandor and turned around. "How am I supposed to last a chance?"
Seandor turned around, "Your not, unless you awake." Shadow tensed up. Seandor jumped forward and sank one of his giant fangs into Shadow's shoulder. Shadow's eyes widened and he yelled out in pain. Seandor snapped his neck and threw Shadow in the air.
Sinos...please...I need you.
"I cant help you. You need to summon me."
How? Please tell me how.
Shadow landed back in front of Seandor. "Are you done yet?" Seandor asked mockingly.
Shadow slowly stood up. "I-is th-that...the...b-best you got?" Shadow smiled and looked at the god defiantly. "Come on." He moved the shoulder still intact and motioned Seandor to attack him.
Seandor growled deeply. "Kite...get off." Kite obeyed and slide off Seandor's back. "I hope you know what your in for." Shadow smiled. Seandor looked at Shadow. Then suddenly he lunged hitting Shadow square in the chest and sending him flying back. Shadow hit a surface and fell to the ground. So there are walls in this area.
He stood up slowly and coughed up blood. Seandor was suddenly in front of him and shoved one of his massive claws threw Shadow's chest. "Is this what you wanted? Are you really so eager to die?"
Shadow laughed lightly. Then his head fell back and he stopped breathing. Seandor grunted and threw the body in front of Kite. "I guess he wasn't ready." Kite said quietly. He turned to leave, but he smelt something. "Seandor." he turned and saw Seandor trying to cover his nose with his paw.
"That fowl smell. It cant be." Seandor appeared in front of Kite and growling at Shadow's body.
"Seandor...that's the smell of a..." Kite was frightened. "That's the smell...of a demon. But how is it possible only we can enter this area?"
Seandor growled loudly. "Because one was already here." He looked at Shadow's body. It was smoking and healing rapidly. The smoke was a dark purple.
"He must have awakened." Kite sounded optimistic.
"No, when you use Rapid Healing the smoke is white. This is...different." Shadow's body stopped smoking and he started to breath again. He slowly moved. Standing up without a word. His eyes locked at the ground.
"Shadow?" Kite started to move towards him.
"STAY BACK!" Seandor put his paw in the way. "That is not the Shadow you know." Kite looked at Shadow. He seemed the same, but then he started to smoke again. The smoke turned into the familiar dark aura then burst to flames. Then something shot out of his chest and landed in front of Seandor. It was a ball that started to smoke. Then the ball vanished and the smoke toke the form of a feral wolf. "So you have been reduced to this Sinos?"
Sinos was the size of an ordinary wolf, but he was not solid he was just smoke.. "Shut up Seandor, something is wrong with him." He looked at Shadow. The flames around him grew stronger and larger. "So, the power I felt from him...was a demons."
Shadow's head snapped up at that word. His eyes were a solid dark purple. New markings started to appear on him. And collar around his neck written in a language used by demons. The same appeared around his wrists and his ankles. A solid circle was in the center of his chest surrounded by the same band and outside the band were ten different symbols. All the markings were the same dark purple as his eyes.
Shadow raised a paw with its palm up. In his palm exploded a dark blue flame. He did the same with his other paw. "N-no...he cant." Sinos said weakly.
"What...what is happening?" Kite said frantic. As he said this a third flame exploded under the first.
"He is going to open a door to hell." Seandor said calmly. A forth flame appeared under the second. The first two flames left Shadow's paws and moved above him. The other two moved to his feet. In the air Shadow traced a line connecting each flame in the shape of a square. Inside the square it started to darken then turn a dark red color. "This is not the power I wanted to awaken."
Behind Shadow forms started to appear, large beasts with glowing eyes. Behind the door Shadow's eyes and markings glowed a devilish glow.
"No...if he opens the door...we will all die." Seandor said. Shadow raised his paws to the top corners and flung his arms out to his side. The flames flew out and the top two flew up and out. The three gasped at what was behind the door. A whole army of demons stood behind Shadow waiting for him to break the door.
"Do you see why I chose this being as my servant?" A demons voice came from the other side. A larger form stood next to Shadow. "Here in the domain of our lord death his power is amplified immensely." Form was a large smoke cloud with no real shape only the outline of a beast and glowing eyes. He flew behind Shadow and placed his huge hands on Shadow's shoulders and whispered in his ear. "Go on...open the door for me."
Shadow stepped forward and placed a paw on an apparent barrier. He pushed lightly and large cracks appeared on the ground of the other side.
"SHADOW STOP!" Kite yelled. The cracks began to glow red as Shadow pushed harder. "SHADOW IF YOU DO THIS EVERYONE YOU LOVE WILL DIE! THINK ABOUT KRYSTAL...THINK ABOUT LOU!" That got to Shadow. He stopped pushing.
"INFIDEL!" The smoke cloud shouted and raised a hand. Shadow started to arc with demonic power and he screamed out in pain. He couldn't endure it and broke the barrier. It shattered like glass and the dark power flowed out and washed over Seandor, Kite, and Sinos.
"Damn it." Sinos said. He became a solid being instead of smoke.
"Sinos what happened?" Seandor said.
"Well...he said Shadow got stronger in hell...maybe it rubbed of on me." Kite had fallen down because of the energy and passed out. "Well you know the only way we could have a chance."
"Hmm...yeah...I haven't changed in so long."
"Neither have I." Sinos jumped back in the air and out of nowhere thousands of black butterflies swarmed him. The mass of butterflies landed on the ground behind Seandor. Just as suddenly as they appeared the butterflies disappeared. And on one knee was a black wolf anthro identical to Shadow with the red markings.
"Well if it was that easy for you...it should be simple for me." Seandor followed Sinos and jumped back but he was swarmed by white butterflies and when they dispersed next to Sinos stood a white fox anthro identical to Kite but with nine tails. "You ready for this?" He looked at Sinos to see him staring at Shadow.
"I'm not sure we can do this barehanded."
"What? But they are lower level demon?"
"Yes...but they have a general to command them." Sinos sounded doubtful. "When they can easily attack us but they don't something is wrong."
Seandor gasped. Sinos was right, there was nothing stopping the demons from attacking them. They were just watching Shadow and the two gods. "Now that you mention it...it wouldn't hurt to use our weapons."
"No I don't think it would. So you ready?"
"Yeah." Seandor raised his paws out in front of him palms up. He toke a deep breathe and conjured a white sphere in each paw. "Hm...I haven't had a reason to use these in awhile." Seandor said struggling a little. He clenched his paws and his paws glowed brightly. The light grew brighter and brighter until it was blinding. Shadow stood motionless as if the light didn't effect him. When the light faded, in each paw Seandor held a large blue sword.
"So you still use those things?" Sinos laughed. "Let me show you a true weapon." Sinos held out one paw and a red sphere appeared in his paw. He clenched his paw into a fist the same way Seandor did. A light came but not as long as Seandor's it was a mere flash. In Sinos paw was a scythe. The blade was blood red. The scythe was decorated with red symbols and a black vine wrapped around from the blade down to the ground. The blade stood slightly taller then Sinos.
"Well you have your weapon and I have mine." Seandor looked at his swords, the blades were tinted blue and was covered with darker blue markings. The hilt was made of a vine like the one on Sinos's scythe. Seandor looked at Sinos. "So do you want to take the first wave or should I?"
"I think ill do it." Sinos held his weapon in both paws then jumped high up. He moved his paws down and the blade started to glow. He growled deeply then swung the scythe. The blade released a large red attack. It was a curved line stretching from one end of the demons to the other flying towards the demons. When it hit the ground it exploded blowing smoke all over. Sinos landed next to Seandor. "So...you like?"
"Well you haven't lost your edge." Seandor smiled. They both looked at the clearing smoke. When the smoke had cleared Shadow stood alone, all the demons were either dead or ran away. Shadow's eyes glowed a intense dark purple. He seemed ready to attack, but didn't move.
"I think we need to seal his power away." Sinos stated.
"What do you mean?"
"Well the bands around his neck and wrists mean he is being controlled. If we can use the symbols on his chest we might be able to seal away his power so the demons wont have a hold on him."
"I see. Well...so you want to use a basic seal?"
"No I think we need a more powerful.." Sinos was cut off when Shadow appeared in front of him and slammed a knee into his stomach. Sinos's eyes widened and he coughed up blood. When Shadow removed his knee from Sino's stomach he placed his foot on the ground then flung his foot into the side of Sinos's head sending him flying away.
Seandor gasped then charged Shadow brandishing his swords, he leapt in the air then swung them down on top of Shadow, but he was no longer there. Seandor looked around frantic trying to find Shadow. He couldn't see him any way. "Seandor..." He looked around and saw Shadow holding Sinos by his neck. "You...must...try to...seal his power." Sinos spoke quietly trying to remain conscious.
Shadow tightened his grasp on Sinos, and he fell unconscious. Seandor grunted then placed his paws together in front of his chest and started to chant in an ancient language. Shadow was to amused by Sinos to notice. Shadow threw him in the air then jumped up and smashed a fist into Sinos's back. He then grabbed Sinos's arm and threw him back to the ground.
Seandor's paws started to glow white as he continued to chant. Shadow landed next to the beaten body and then turned his attention to Kite now regaining consciousness. Shadow looked at the fox standing up slowly. Kite stumbled and looked around. "Wh-what happened?" He looked at Seandor, he had never seen him in that form before and was confused. He then looked over to Shadow and Sinos.
Shadow vanished then appeared in front of Kite. Kite gasped and froze in fear. He could tell this was Shadow but he didn't know what happened to him. He looked at the markings and his eyes widened. He had seen them before on the demon that took Luna from him long ago. His eyes dropped to the ground. "So...you are possessed by the demon that toke Luna? Well...I guess you remember me, Garsame The Night Stalker."
Shadow smiled and he spoke in a dark voice. When he opened his mouth dark mist seeped out. "So...you remember me. That's good. How is Luna?" Shadow laughed lightly. "You know...if I remember right...she was pregnant when you killed me."
"SHUT UP!" Kite remember what he did to Luna before Kite killed him. "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SAY HER NAME...OR SPEAK OF THAT CHILD!"
Shadow burst out in laughter. "You think you can stop me? You wont hurt this body and I know that." Kite snapped and slammed a fist hard into Shadow's chest. Shadow stumbled back and was breathing heavy. "You...shouldn't have done that."
"KITE STAND BACK!" Seandor yelled and Kite jumped back and Shadow turned to see Seandor's paws glowing white and ten white spheres flying towards him.
"What the..." He was cut off when they hit him in the chest on the symbols. "N-no...I just gained control." Shadow's body started to shine white and he raised his head up and screamed in pain. Then the light faded and Shadow stood there the markings had faded except the ten symbols now white instead of the dark purple.
"Shadow?" Seandor asked. The markings then faded.
"I-I'm sorry. I had no control. I tried... I tried to stop myself. I screamed and screamed, but no one heard. That demon. I saw everything. I'm so sorry Kite."
Kite looked at the ground. "He...he stole Luna and raped her. If I was stronger then I could have stopped him." He started to cry lightly. Seandor walked over to Kite and placed a paw on his shoulder and faded away.
Shadow walked over to the body of Sinos. He placed a paw on his chest and Sinos faded away the same as Seandor had. Shadow looked at Kite, who was still crying, and walked over and wrapped his arms around him. "It will be ok. Luna doesn't hate you and your all are fine. Please...stop crying."
The darkness started to fade and the trees and grass returned. Shadow looked over to the trees and saw Krystal passed out on the ground. "Does that happen to everyone that doesn't have a god?" Shadow asked.
Kite stopped crying and said. "Only those to weak to withstand the power." Shadow walked over to Krystal and picked her up and looked at her. "Will you tell her about Lou?"
"I don't know...she's been through so much. It would just tear her apart." Shadow walked past Kite back to the village.
"Shadow..." Shadow stopped and turned around. "You know what's inside you. A demon that ruined my life."
"No...he's not inside me. That other demon toke control of me and use him to give me power. I don't know if he will be able to use me again...but I felt cold...like I was nothing...I was just a shell...I don't want to feel like that again."
Kite looked at Shadow. "If he does use you again...I'm not sure ill be able to stop myself."
"I understand...I saw everything." Shadow turned and walked back to the village.
Krystal stirred in Shadows arms. She mumbled to herself something Shadow couldn't hear. Shadow walked and walked. When he reached the village he walked back to the tent he had awoken in. He saw Angi try to come towards him, but this time another wolf stopped him.
Shadow placed Krystal on the ground and sat beside her. He leaned over and gave her a kiss on the side on the muzzle. "I'm sorry for everything." He whispered in her ear. Then he laid beside her and drifted into sleep. Think only of the pain he had cause everyone for coming back.
