Chronicles of Blood - Reunited
#2 of Chronicles of Blood
I got that creative bug again, and decided to write a story charting Niro's change in appearance, from a slender Vampiric Canine, to a big muscled beefcake, so this little adventure gives a canonical explanation as to why he's now the size he is.
This story follows Blaine, a Death Dealer Secondary Agent, as he is sent to locate Niro, who went off the grid after going undercover to assassinate a known drug lord, who had begun dealing in Vampire Blood, a powerful hallucinogenic and healing agent.
This story contains scenes featuring adult themes, including death, and as such carries an 18+ marker, just to be safe.
Chronicles of Blood:
Reunited
The call had come just before sunrise. The Vampire council of Apollo City had feared the worst of their best operative, and needed his secondary to take his place, and finish the mission their Death Dealer had started, which meant Blaine would finally get a chance to shine.
Two years ago, the Council had assigned one of their best Death Dealers, a young Vampire Husky by the name of Niro, to assassinate a known drug lord, a Wild Boar, known as Varrago. The Porcine had usually only dabbled in the sale of the usual narcotics, but had discovered the potency of Vampire blood as a hallucinogenic, healing agent, and stimulant, and as such, was hiring freelance hunters to capture some of the Vampiric denizens of the city, and forcibly drain their blood to be sold on the black market. This, as you would expect, did not sit with the council, who immediately ordered his death.
Niro had gone undercover, initially starting his operation working as a peddler for the Boars goods, attempting to gain intel on the Vampires he sought to target, and feeding the information back to the Council, who would warn and protect those in danger of being forcibly ensanguinated. Eventually, Niro was to work his way up the chain, to get as close to the Boar as possible, and when the opportunity came to terminate him, to do so without hesitation.
Slowly, Niro had been achieving his goals, moving up from the rank of small time drug pusher, up to one of the Boars personal bodyguards. You would assume that this would have granted the Husky the chance to strike, but, about three months ago, Niro had sent an encoded message to the Council, via his personal 'Chew Toy' in the Vampire Headquarters, that he had gained enough intel to plan his assassination of the target, but it would require him going into deeper cover, and that he would alert the council when the job was done.
Unfortunately, that alert never came.
Growing increasingly concerned, the Council felt that they had no other option than to utilize the services of Niro's Secondary Operative, another Husky by the name of Blaine.
Secondary operatives were assigned to each Death Dealer out on a mission, so that if they either failed, or, in the worst case scenario, were eliminated themselves, the Secondary would step in, and attempt to finish the mission in the Death Dealers stead.
Niro was renowned as one of the best Death Dealers the Coven had, almost matching his late Makers successful mission total in just under ten years, despite his rocky start to life as a Vampire after his turning. Nowadays, it seemed like the job suited him perfectly, being able to finish missions with ease, and kill when necessary, nearly always avoiding detection, so it became a matter of urgency when he had been off the radar for so long, to find out what had become of him.
Blaine had sat down and spoken with Niro's Chew Toy, a silver fox named Cederic, about the last message he had received, the fox clearly very worried about the missing canine. It was clear from the way the vulpine spoke of Niro that he cared for him deeply, and everyone knew how close they had grown during Niro's time at the Headquarters when he was not on missions. Niro had even gone so far as to put a collar on him, which was a sign to all in the coven that the slender silver fox belonged to the Husky, and that feeding from the fox without Niro's consent would incur a punishment, as were the standard rules. The fox practically lived at Niro's apartment within the headquarters any ways, even having been given his own key.
Blaine himself was of a similar build to Niro, both were slim, roughly the same height of under six foot, and their eyes would both glow the typical icy blue when their fangs extended. Unlike Niro's simple black and white colouration and low hanging, more wolven tail, Blaine was a golden white husky, and his tail curled up his back. Niro's head fur was a dark brown, fairly long, whereas Blaine's was short, and dyed a fiery red, to contrast with his yellowed hazel eyes. He was wearing a black velvet waistcoat and blue shirt, with matching formal pants, the Vampiric canine having donned a disguise to help him blend in with the staff at the location where he knew the Boar was going to be.
The intel had come in that Varrago liked to frequent a BDSM club located on the outskirts of the city, the seedy kind where mainly gay male furs would go to if they were looking for a good time, cheap drinks, or a one night stand, usually a combination of the three.
Blaine had checked the clubs website and social media, and it seemed they were hosting a kink party, complete with dancers and a buffet. The golden furred husky may or may not have visited the place once or twice, whenever he had to scratch an itch that the female chew toys in the HQ just couldn't quite get to, so he already had a good idea of the layout of the place. He pulled up into the rear parking lot, stepping out of his car into the chilly winter air, not that the cold bothered him, his ears immediately perking to the sound of the heavy rave beats that were echoing from the dance floor within. He quickly scanned the area for any signs of the missing canine, but as he expected, found nothing.
Blaine sighed as he approached the side door, labelled clearly as 'Staff Only', where two young looking males, dressed in the same formal uniforms as Blaine, stood, chatting between themselves and smoking. Usually, Blaine would have had to glamour his way in, locking the two in a Vampiric Hypnosis to gain entry, but the pair just waved, not seeming to care at the unknown canine appearing and heading for the staff door. "That was easier than I thought." Blaine thought to himself, heading inside.
He slowly walked through the rear rooms of the club, the other staff members either not acknowledging his presence, or greeting him with simple hellos. It was only when one, a large rhino who was working as security, asked him if he was temporary staff from another bar called in to help cover the event, gave Blaine the perfect cover story, to which he replied with a cheery smile and an eager nod.
"Hope you like headaches, cos the music is certainly thumping tonight, and that Boar's in tonight, so in case they didn't tell ya, do what he asks. 'An-y-thing" the Rhino said roughly, putting extra emphasis on the word. This was a kink club, and he had been here before, so Blaine was more than happy to get down and dirty if the mission required it.
Taking a short breath, Blaine grinned wide as he stepped through the curtain covered door frame that separated the back of the club from the front, the laser lights of the dance floor lighting up his vision, allowing the husky to get a good view of his surroundings, and to drink in the sights.
He looked around the large room, watching carefully as people in various stages of undress danced and fondled each other on the dance floor, and in the seating booths dotted around the place. On several neon lit pedestals, large, muscled dancers of various species were swaying their hips to the beats of the song, groping various parts of their bodies, getting rained with cash tips with they removed an item of their clothing. It wasn't long before Blaine's nose located his target before his eyes did, the husky looking up to the second level balcony.
Sat on a large armchair, wearing just a leather harness and pants, was Varrago. Blaine could smell his sweat and clear arousal from his position next to the bar. He watched as the wild Boar would cheer on the dancers, and rudely groped the rear of the barman who brought him up a refill on his drinks, the canine server yelping a little under his breath at the sudden unwarranted touch of his behind, a sound that under normal circumstances, would not have been heard over the music, but Blaine heard it, clear as day, thanks to his Vampiric hearing.
One thing however stood out more than the leather clad porcine. Sat by his side was a muscular male canine, another husky, clearly. Black and white fur, wearing a similar leather harness and short shorts, and a blue pup play hood. The only thing that determined it was not Blaine's missing Death Dealer was his tail. Niro had a wolven tail, whereas this ones tail was curled, much like Blaine's. The male was crouched by the Boars feet, occasionally getting his head scratched by the drug lord. It seemed Varrago had gotten himself his own 'little pet'.
Blaine sneered a little, wondering how best to get up there. There were two of Varragos bouncers standing guard at the only stairwell leading up to the balcony, and there were too out in the open to be glamoured. Someone would clearly notice. They both snarled at the server as he left the stairwell, causing him to almost sprint back to the safety of the bar. Even if he did get past them, he couldn't just walk right up to the Boar and take him out right there. He would need to get him away somewhere private.
Blaine slowly grabbed a tray of drinks, making circles around the lower level as he tried to devise a plan of action to get upstairs. He could find out if Varrago wanted company for the evening, and attempt to seduce the male into going into one of the VIP rooms, to get him alone, but no, if there was any struggle, his guards would be alerted, and would intervene. Not to mention that judging by the look of the muscular pup, the Boar would likely want him to be involved in some way, and it was unlikely Varragos pet would sit by and watch his owner be killed without making some sort of noise.
Blaine kept pondering a while as the pace of the music began to change, getting faster, leading to the dancers taking off more of their clothes, many of them now down to jockstraps and muscle thongs, shaking their firm rears about for the cheering crowd.
Heading back to the side of the bar to return the now empty drinks tray, the golden furred husky was still lost in thought, trying to figure out the best plan of attack, when he heard the stairwell door open again. He whirled around, looking casual as he slowly refilled the tray, watching as Varrago emerged, walking his pup along the edge of the dance floor. The muscular pup seemed to be eyeing up the dancers, as Blaine heard him speak only in a few barks, with the Boar egging him on. "How about this one Puppy?" he would say, leading to the leashed male shaking his head.
Blaine had stopped what he was doing, watching the sight, when he absent mindedly knocked over a glass, managing to catch it before it hit the floor and shattered, it's liquid contents spilling onto the bar floor. "That's coming outta your wages" one of the barman chimed, giving Blaine a snide look.
The Vampire shook his head, looking back over at the Boar and his pet, and froze, when he locked eyes with the Pup, who was staring straight at him intently from across the dance floor. "Ooohhh, you want the skinny husky? Good choice puppy" Blaine heard the Boar say, as he watched the Drug Lord snap his fingers, signalling for Blaine to approach.
The Barman from earlier who had made the snide remark quickly spoke up again. "He always goes for the huskies. Best get your ass over there...and you might need a cushion afterwards when you sit down, heh." Blaine didn't even hesitate to shoot the feline barman a sly grin, and give him the finger as he waltzed over towards where the Boar was standing, tapping his hoof, while his muscular pup had reared up onto his legs, moving forward to attempt to paw at Blaines chest as he got closer, like an excited dog. Little did the Drug Lord know that he may have just given Blaine the chance he needed to complete his mission.
Varrago licked his lips, looking Blaine up and down. "Well hello handsome, aren't you the lucky one. Me and my Pup here were looking for a plaything for tonight, and it seems my pet has picked you, isn't that right puppy?" The boar said with a smirk, followed by a playful bark by the leashed stud of a canine.
Blaine nodded eagerly, biting his lip as he got a closer look at the muscular male. "Well...when I'm in the presence of such a fine specimen as him, I don't think I can say no!" He said, his tail swishing behind him.
Varrago grinned wide, giving his pets leash a tug as he turned, heading through a side door to the VIP rooms, with Blaine hot on his heels. It didn't take them long to reach the room that the Boar must have had reserved, as it was labelled with a clear sign that read 'PRIVATE'. He opened the door to let the two canines inside, his two bouncers taking their places outside the door in case of any emergencies.
Now that they were alone, Blaine had to come up with his next move, and quickly. He was quite happy to have some fun with these two, hopefully he'd be able to Glamour the Boar into going to sleep after, after which he'd finish his mission, and make his escape, but he didn't have to wait long, as clearly Varrago wanted the fun to start as soon as possible.
"Why don't you get him nice and warmed up Pup?" he said with a playful growl, as he unclipped the muscular males leash from his collar.
The beefed up canine slowly got to his feet, the male easily standing at a foot taller than Blaine, their leather harness creaking a little as their muscles expanded to fill it. Blaine swallowed, a few butterflies in his stomach as the almost herculean Husky slowly stepped towards him, a look of sheer lust in his eyes.
The larger male gently placed one of his large paws on Blaine's chest, pushing him backwards onto one of the armchairs situated by the wall, as Varrago sat on the velvet couch opposite, rubbing his bulge in his pants as he watched. The muzzle of the hood on the males head slowly got drawn in closer, the bigger husky putting his paw on the side of Blaine's head, pulling him gently as he opened his mouth, moving Blaine's lips through the muzzle of the hood to meet his, locking the other husky in a deep kiss.
If Blaine wasn't an undead Vampire, his heart would likely be beating so fast it would have burst out of his chest, as the bigger male just seamlessly took control. The golden husky felt the tongue of his monochrome counterpart prodding at his lips, as he opened them to allow it's entry, his joining the other in swirling around each others mouths, eliciting a slight moan from the muscular male, the first non dog like sound he had made since Blaine had encountered him.
They kept this up for several minutes, the bigger canines free hand shamelessly stealing gropes of Blaine's crotch and rear, before the Boar decided to interrupt.
"Come now Pup...it's my turn" He ordered with clear lust in his voice patting his lap.
The big husky gave a short bark, his tail wagging as he pulled away from Blaine, giving him a clear look that said "I'm not done with you yet." He gave a little stretch, walking over and climbing onto the Boars lap, who huffed and spanked his rear as he began kissing him. Blaine watched as the large canines paws ran all over the Boars body, playing with his nipples and running through his hair, while the sounds of sloppy kissing filled the room, with much less passion in it than the way Blaine had been kissed.
The Vampiric canine had just decided that maybe it was a good idea to at least get his shirt and waistcoat off, when he glanced over at the pair on the couch once more.
The husky in the boars lap was slowly moving his paws up, both of them now on his owners head, seemingly wrapping them around his neck. Varrago didn't seem to notice as his pup positioned his arms in such a way, before he opened his eyes to check what his pet was doing, after feeling a slight pressure on his throat. Before he had a chance to voice any form of objection, the pup struck. A quick twist of his muscular forearms, and a quiet crack broke the sudden silence of the room, the Boar suddenly spasming and twitching, before falling still, Blaine clearly hearing the porcine's breathing cease.
His Pup had just snapped his neck, killing him instantly.
Blaine's eyes widened, staring at the back of the pups head as he slowly got off the now deceased Boar, tugging at something on his tail. "What the fuck did you just do?!" He murmured quietly, so as not to alert the bouncers.
The Pup didn't respond, instead, he began grunting as he started fumbling with what appeared to be a piece of twine in his tail. A light snapping sound was heard as it disconnected, the beefy canine yanking it out, unraveling it, causing his curled tail to suddenly unroll, falling down his back, becoming wolven in appearance.
"Two damn years this mission took. I was wondering if the Council would send a secondary." The buff Pup spoke as he turned around, his previously deep blue eyes suddenly a glaring Ice Blue, as he tugged off the hood to reveal his face.
Niro.
Blaine couldn't believe what he was seeing. There, before him, was the husky he had been assigned to find, eyes alight and fangs bared, and behind him, the corpse of the male he had been assigned to kill.
"What's the matter? Pup got your tongue?" He said with a grin as his fangs retracted.
Blaine darted to his feet, moving around the couch as Niro closed the Boars eyes, moving him into a position that at first glance, would make it look like he was sleeping.
"How...I don't... dude...You're so...BIG!" Blaine stammered, flustered by his former slender colleagues larger size.
Niro seemed to be ignoring him, the larger vampire zipping around the room at his Vampiric speed, stuffing pillows under the blankets on the bed, to make it look like there were two people sleeping there, and leaving his hood on the night stand.
"There. The guards will poke their heads in in about ten minutes to check on Varrago. This way it'll look like we just went to sleep. We can talk in the car, but we need to leave, now. You did bring a car didn't you?" Niro grunted, the Death Dealer getting impatient.
"Parking Lot" Blaine replied, a little caught up in the moment to fully comprehend that Niro was clearing the murder scene. He followed Niro's motions of his arm to the windows as he gently eased it open, the pair looking down into the vacant spots in the lot below. A brief nod to each other, and they leapt from the window, down the two stories from the VIP Room to the ground, landing on their feet without even a wince of pain. They dived into Blaine's car, the golden husky starting it up and speeding away. It would be at least a few minutes before the guards even checked on the Boar, never mind discovering that he was, in fact, dead.
It was a least an hours drive back to the HQ, and the now bulky framed husky slowly got comfortable in the car, pulling the harness from himself, leaving him bare chested. He sighed, not saying anything, seemingly pleased that his mission was finally over.
Blaine decided to break the silence, while keeping his eyes on the road.
"You know, you've had your chew toy worried sick about you". He said.
Niro looked over quickly. "Cederic? Is he OK? The other Vampires didn't try and make a move on him did they?" He said, sounding a little panicked, which didn't fit the seemingly gruff bodybuilder aesthetic the canine had going on at the moment.
"He's fine, been holed up in your apartment, barely leaves it. He's kept it pretty clean for ya."
Niro looked down at his feet. "I'll have some serious making up to do...I didn't mean for the mission to take this long. It's all I've thought about, getting back and seeing him smile, getting to hold him...taste him again..." The bulky canine trailed off, starting out the window.
"You love him, don't you?" Blaine said plainly.
Niro simply nodded.
Blaine smirked. "He's a cutie, I'll give you that. Plus, I think everyone kinda figured it out, the way you two are around each other. You thought about turning him? You'd get to be with him forever that way."
"I've asked him, but he doesn't want to turn." Niro replied with a shake of his head. "I'm not gonna turn him against his will, not like I was".
"Fair enough. So, fill me in here. Number one, how did you wind up getting so big? And two, how did you become Varragos pet like you did? That was like, the ultimate way to get close to him!" Blaine exclaimed.
"Well...I proved my combat skills when I was drug pushing for him, a deal went south, I had to rough to guy up a bit, and after that he asked me to be his guard. I spotted that he had a pet, a big, muscular dude, another husky, he clearly has a thing for them, so I started working out after seeing how close they were. Took almost a year, but now that I am this size...I kinda like it! Plus it fit the part while I was his guard and all, but he didn't want two pets at once, so I kinda had to make the first one...disappear." Niro explained.
"You killed him? Was he innocent?" Blaine asked, not that he really cared, as long as the mission got completed.
"More like...had him killed. I tipped off the police to a major drug deal, planted evidence to make it look like his first pup was the leaker, and Varrago and his goons did the work for me. And his original pup wasn't innocent, the guy started out as one of the hunters he was hiring to catch Vampires to drain. So if anything it's one less hunter in the world now too." Niro finished with a nod.
"Heh, two bad guys in one mission, not bad". Blaine laughed. "Well...I'm sure you'll be given a heroes welcome back. Not like I did much to help, so no reward for me eh?" He grumbled.
"I mean...I got to kiss you... that's at least something". He added, going red, to which Niro laughed, shaking his head.
The conversation in the car then fell quiet, the two not talking the rest of the journey, as they reached the headquarters.
Blaine's car creaked as Niro got out, the pair heading into the elevator from the internal parking lot up to the lobby and apartment access. A bustle of voices and a few cheers were heard as they stepped out, even a wolf whistle or two as the muscular canine and his slender companion headed down to the corridors that lead to Niro's apartment.
Upon reaching the door, Niro knocked slowly, having left his key and other things in his apartment, taking only what he needed on his mission. He stood, hearing the familiar footsteps from the inside. "I swear if this is another one of you fuckers wanting to bite me cos Niro isn't here I'm gonna..." Niro heard as the door opened quickly, a grin on the big canines face as all he saw was his silver fox almost choking on his own breath at the sight of his now muscled lover.
Cederic stood there, wearing Niro's old hoodie, which was a little big for him. The chew toy fox was wearing long socks, and shorts, always being told to wear what he was comfortable in when he was with his husky.
Niro and Blaine stepped inside, as Cederic moved past them, shutting the door, before looking up at his Vampiric other half. He reached out, touching Niro's chest, pausing, only to suddenly start punching the Huskies pectoral muscle.
"Two years!" He almost cried "It took you two years to come back! I know you kept messaging me, but the last one was three months ago, and when I heard they were sending Blaine, of course I thought the worst!" He stopped hitting Niro's chest, eyes wide and a little watery.
"I can't bear the thought of losing you...don't EVER do that to me again! After everything that happened here before you came along, all the rough biting, the random grabbing, and then I met you, and we had so much fun together, and then I thought you were dead, and I never thought I'd end up fall-"
Niro leaned down quickly, silencing the fox with a kiss. It lingered for a while, Cederic hugging into Niro's chest as they broke apart. "I love you too." The large canine said, planting one more kiss on the foxes forehead.
Blaine stood there, feeling a little awkward, watching the display of emotion as his companion was reunited with his lover. Thankfully, his phone buzzed, signalling he was being summoned to give a debriefing. Niro heard the vibration, nodding at Blaine as he made a move to leave the apartment.
Blaine smiled as he shut the door, catching a glimpse of Niro scooping up his boyfriend into a hug, and spinning on the spot with him, the almost crying fox now laughing the way a child would when they were picked up by a parent.
Blaine made his way to the Council chambers, entering the dimly lit room to be greeted by Elder Genevieve, the leader of the Apollo City Coven, and one of the oldest Vampires on the planet, at over 3,000 years old. She lightly kissed him on both cheeks after he bowed before her.
"Welcome back young Blaine, and well done for bringing back our missing Death Dealer." She said softly, her graying fur shimmering in the dim light of the chamber. "Please, elaborate on what occurred."
Slowly, Blaine gave an in depth explanation of the nights events, even the conversation he and Niro had had in the car, with the Council chuckling somewhat at Niro's expression of love for his chew toy.
Genevieve smiled gently as she gave the husky an embrace. "Despite your lack of engagement with the mission, you still have done us a service, and you will be compensated accordingly. Never think that you are not valued in my coven child." She said, before motioning for him to leave.
Blaine nodded slowly, bowing again as he left the chamber to ascend the stairs out of the council offices, to head to his own apartment. He couldn't help but replay the nights events in his head even after giving the Council the debriefing, but the mission wasn't the part that was getting to him. Niro had gotten back, and was greeted by someone he loved, someone who cared about him back. Any other chew toy would have removed the collar, and gone to another Vampire, but Cederic had not, he had waited. Love was generally a pointless emotion for the undead, as the things they chose to love usually withered and died after a time, without intervention. But it wasn't his place to say. Niro and Cederic were happy, and that was all they cared about.
Blaine couldn't help but wish that he had someone to care about, and who would care about him as much as Cederic did for Niro.
Meanwhile, in the Council Chambers, Genevieve and the other Council members were looking at the Security footage of the now muscular Niro in the elevator with Blaine.
"It's astounding he was able to put on that much muscle in only two years. Normally it takes us decades of training" One member piped up.
"Indeed" Genevieve spoke. "But that is not what interests me. I have watched Niro's progress ever since he was turned, and as we will remember, he certainly did not enjoy his new duties when he first inherited them from his Maker."
"You mean the Rogue" Another member added.
"Yes. The Rogue. Though he may have turned on us, we cannot deny that he had some of the best skills we as a Coven had ever seen. And it seems his progeny has inherited those abilities, and added a few of his own...Ezekiel has taught him well."
Genevieve stared at the monitor, her brow furrowing.
"Niro will be very dangerous if he ever turns out like his Maker...but it seems he enjoys his work much more than Maxwell ever did."
A few Council members audibly hissed at the mention of the Rogues name.
"This young Vampire took to killing well. He has already surpassed Maxwell...and it seems his lover has had a helping hand in that. Perhaps having someone to come home to is what drives him, having someone to protect from the horrors of this world... but I cannot say for sure. For now...he may have a few weeks to rest, before we give him another assignment".
A few mumbles of agreement echoed around the chamber.
"And what of Blaine, his Secondary?" One final member queried.
"Keep him close. Niro may need him again on missions to come...in fact..." Genevieve pondered a moment.
"I think it's about time he received a promotion."
