Xeno's Grumpy Lover: Chapter 1
#6 of Story Commissions
The first chapter of a story commission for my adorable buddy: nikokenox over on FA. Thank you for commissioning me!
Featuring their character in a relationship with mine, however, this is not part of either of our OCs' main canon or stories from which they are taken, it's just some fun. This chapter specifically focusing on how Kenox stumbles upon a mysterious stranger while caught in the midst of a harsh blizzard
Harsh snow and bitter gales battered the dark, icy mountainside like a hammer as the winding road of frozen cobbles snaked upwards into the thick clouds. Sheer cliffs and looming peaks opposed steep drops and frozen spires either side of the narrow path, while far above the dark sky shuddered and rumbled, as lashes of ice lanced across the clouds. It all formed a blizzard the likes of which the towering mountains had not seen the fury of in many millennia. Yet even through the harshest of the storm, one lone figure pressed on, like a speck of color upon the endless white haze as he battled his way through the furious onslaught.
Wings rustling like loose parchment, scales bitten by spiky frost crystals and mane turned white, the lonely dragon marched through knee-deep snow as he bowed his head against his chest and did his best to block out the cold. Yet the heavy metal armor adorning his toned body horns to tail, protecting him from claws and blade strikes, now did little to stave off the wind's bitter chill. Nor did the thick scarf and cloak he wore tight around his neck as his face contorted, eyes closed and half-frozen that way.
His body was numb to the bone, every joint aching as his frozen scales felt only moments from shattering like frail glass. Surely he'd lose some to frostbite at this rate, as he felt the cold's serrated daggers digging under each natural plate, penetrating his skin with a frozen touch like death itself. All the while snow danced like ghostly specters in the wind, and the few fleeting times he was able to open his strained eyes, he swore he could see pained faces aghast in the flurries of ice. Yet with his jaw clenched, neck arched and teeth grit, blind to all but the sensation of numbing cold as his paws sank into the deep snow, the dragon pressed on.
Command had not told him that the weather could become so harsh when they had tasked him with a mission on the far side of the mountains, they had only warned him that he may face death in the enemy camp that had been his target. Yet where he'd managed a perfect insertion into enemy territory, completed his task, and narrowly escaped the talons of his pursuers, he'd run straight into the frozen death trap of the high peaks.
Maybe that's why they let me go so easily?
It was almost ironic that he'd been able to make it so far, heroically face down the claws and fire of murderous dragons, come out with barely a few cuts and scratches, only to be frozen to death all the way up here like some lost vagabond or foolish traveler. He was a soldier, proud and determined, not one to be taken lightly, and not in years of service had he ever been laid so low. To think that after all this time it was the bitter wrath of nature to kill him was folly, he'd never allow it to be so.
Yet with a howl and a loud rumble, the mountains defied the soldier's stoic resolve, the whole cliffside giving a tremendous shudder as strong winds swept up and caught the dragon's wing. Snow slid out from under him like the loose tiles of an ill-kept roof, his leathery membranes ripped up as he was thrown onto his side and battered by the storm. His scales burned with cold, and his eyes were forced open, only to be stung by the bitter chill, strained tears seeping forth only to form frozen streaks against his battered cheek.
No, I won't die here, I can't! He hissed to himself, knowing that he was still needed back home, the generals were counting on him to report back with the information that the enemy camp had been burned to the ground. They need me, what kind of a soldier am I if I let these stupid mountains beat me like some weak hatchling? Spurred on by newfound determination, the dragon grunted as he surged up from the snow and let out a pained yelp, bitter cold battling to drag him back to his icy grave. Lumps of white slid from his back and he summoned fire in his chest, the heat bubbling up as, like a true draconic warrior of old, he beat back against the elements with bursts of hot flame.
The snow melted with a hiss, steam fleeing for mere seconds before it was reduced back to ice like a prisoner unpermitted escape. Yet regardless of the cold's attempts to ensnare him, the dragon trudged on, paws dragging as his frozen nostrils flared and snorted plumes of fire to clear his way. At least until the searing flames in his chest started to wane, his breath becoming haggard as his lungs seared like two hot coals. His strength was failing him, and with every gasp of cold air, he felt like a fish out of water as the heat in him finally died and he staggered.
No, no, not like this! Damn this storm! He inwardly cursed his own weakness as the snow seized the opportunity like a pack of ambushing wolves, starting to pile atop him like a swarm of ravenous insects. I can't let it win I...
His consciousness started to fade, seeping away as the coiling tendrils of ice started to worm their way deep under his scales. The frost was like a million hooked barbs, yet not to be defeated just yet, the dragon shuddered hard, blasting off the snow as he surged upward and yelled at the top of his ragged lungs.
"No, not like this!" His words echoed through the storm, swiftly lost upon the howling wind, yet the burst of fire that surged out with them was less so ignored by the elements.
The firebolt lit up the blizzard like a flaming arrow, blazing high until it struck a distant mountain peak with an echoing boom.
Ha, how do you like that, storm? I'm not so weak after all! The dragon thought triumphantly, puffing up his armor-clad chest, even as the wind battered him like a rag.
Yet his small victory was short-lived, and not to be outdone too easily, the mountains responded with a low rumble. All the while the dragon could only watch as the light of his fire faded far in the distance, bearly illuminating the snow as it started to slide from the high slopes, then roll, gathering speed until it roared towards him like an invisible monster.
Oh no. Blood drained from the dragon's veins as he realized exactly what was now thundering his way, an avalanche unseen in the darkness. I have to move, now!
Any hope he had of flying away was stolen by the storm as it tossed his wings around like an autumn leaf caught in a gale. All he could do was hope, pray, and bound through the thick snow as fast as he could as the loud roar of the invisible wave thundered closer and closer, a task made all the more difficult as the ground seemed to plunge deeper and deeper!
Curse this stupid place, why does it have to make everything so hard!? He inwardly screamed, as he narrowly avoided falling into a yawning chasm of ice, only just managing to leap over as his rear paws scraped the slippery edge. I'm not going to die here, no way!
Even so, the mountains seemed to have far different ideas, as the very ground under his numb paws started to shudder, like giants were stomping somewhere amidst the frozen gloom.
I can't fly, I can't outrun it in this weather, I need to find somewhere to hide, now! He inwardly reasoned, spine prickling with dread as he sensed the wall of crushing snow racing closer. Find a cave, a crevice, anything!
In a panicked fluster, his eyes darted across the gloom, frantically scouring the sheer cliffs for any sign of salvation, before finally finding what looked like an inky blotch amidst the gnarled rocks.
That has to be a cave or something! He inwardly declared, leaping down the rocks like a scaly mountain goat in a hurried effort to reach the shelter. I just hope I'm right, I have to be right!
His half-frozen paws struck the icy surface of a narrow ledge mere inches from the supposed cave mouth, just as the sky erupted with the sound of falling snow and the avalanche poured over the rugged cliff edge above him like a frozen tsunami. It flooded between spires and over the sheer drop like a furious waterfall. Carried in the white river, were uprooted trees, ice chunks and boulders twice his size, and the dragon's eyes popped wide as he glimpsed the crushing death mere feet above him. It's this or nothing, I hope I'm right about this! He declared, coiling back and leaping from the edge right toward the inky gloom of the cave.
Seconds later his paws struck rock, falling out from under him as his shoulder blasted with pain and his armor clattered like falling cutlery. The best he could do was clutch his aching shoulder with the opposite forepaw, body radiating with pain, mere seconds before snow drifted down on to him and with a thunderous boom and a flurry of icy haze, the world went dark.
********
Nothing but the dull pitter-patter of droplets fleeting from stalactites, and the clatter of tumbling ice echoed through the empty blackness of the lonely cave as the wind blew, creating an eerie symphony of distant howls and ghostly moans. The air was heavy and cold, hanging over the forest of stone like a thick blanket as, within the snowy rubble, a lone figure moved.
At first, no more than a small twitch broke the still atmosphere, then a flutter as a leathery wing broke free from a snowy heap, small balls of ice scattering like bugs as a head perked up from the cold mound. Nonetheless, the dull-blue scaled dragon shook off his frosty prison, surging up from the snow with a yelp and twitching each of his numb paws in turn. None seemed to be too damaged, and aside from a dull throb in his shoulder, there was no pain. Yet the same could not be said for the heavy pounding in his head, like the marching war drums of a vast army trampling his mind.
"Urg, what happened to me?" he asked himself, pressing a forepaw to his temple, only to jump at the cold touch of his claws. "Why is everything here so damn cold!?" Gingerly feeling his skull to check for any lasting damage, he pulled his foreclaw back, glad to find no warm blood stains marred its surface. No matter how much he wished for something hot against his scales.
Guess I was right about this thing being a cave then? He thought, glad for his sudden salvation as he looked around, only to find the darkness was everywhere. Huh? I'd have been better off keeping my eyes closed.
Shaking off his own joke, he exhaled a small plume of fire from his flared nostrils, peering through the gloom to see the walls of the cave. They were vast, rugged, and lined with both looming stalactites and sharp stalagmites. Like the teeth of some great beast ready to swallow any wayward adventure whole, they marked the entrance to the cave's deeper reaches. Beyond, the stone was jagged, and sleek with meltwater, like the vast throat of the same monstrous creature.
Okay, let's not joke about this being some kind of giant monster, I don't want that to turn out to be true! The dragon huffed to himself, all too aware that his run of bad luck had been very on point in the past few days.
Regardless, no matter how glad he was to not have been buried alive by the avalanche, as well as to be out of the storm. The dark, foreboding cave was not the most inviting of places to seek shelter, not to mention caves in the mountains were seldom unoccupied. Even so, as he stood up, shook more frost from his wings, and stretched his aching back, he glanced around to find that his means of escape was completely cut off.
Really, can't I just catch a break for once? The dragon inwardly huffed as the only movement coming from what he assumed to have been the cave's mouth, was the clatter of ice falling down the vast wall of snow.
The force of the avalanche had plugged the stone maw full, leaving shards of shattered rock and icy chunks to litter the floor around it. Panning from left to right the dragon saw that a huge bank of snow had also rolled into the cavern, rising in a shallow slope before it became a sheer face. Boulders and uprooted pine trees stuck out of the mass like the bones of a ragged corpse picked clean by carrion, and he could assume he'd have been just as dead if he'd been caught in the snow's wake. I guess I should be thankful then. The dragon grumbled as he scuffed a forepaw at the stone, before turning back to the deeper parts of the cave, his flaming breath his only light source in the blackness. But is being stuck in here really any better?
That question was put to the test seconds later as a scattering in the gloom stole his attention, and his eyes rapidly shot to the source of the disturbance. Yet when his gaze fell upon the damp rock, all he saw was a scatter of dust and a clatter of pebbles.
Must just be the wind? That futile idea was stolen as another sound rattled up from deeper in the cave and his gaze immediately redirected itself. Now I know I heard something that time!
Even so, there was nothing but the distant howl of the wind emanating from the depths as he folded his wings tight at his flanks and took a wobbling step forward, followed by another, then another as he tentatively made his way deeper. The dripping of water droplets from above intensified as he passed by looming fields of stalactites and shear walls that he swore were marred by the mottled marks of weeping cave paintings. Striving to make them out, the dragon squinted, seeing what looked like the smudged image of an odd, black dragon, and below it, another of the same race surrounded by orbs of glowing green.
"What in the great drake's name?" he muttered to himself, spying another cave painting depicting what looked to be more dragons like him, only stuck to walls by strands of sticky green. "This has got to be thousands of years old?"
He couldn't be sure whether it was down to the ravaging effects of time on the ancient ink, but some of those pinned dragons seemed to glow, or more accurately their abdomens did, with smaller marks inside their engorged looking bellies, as more of the dark scaled strangers crawled about them like ants.
The sight sent a shiver along the dragon's spine, his wings ruffling as he pulled away from the walls and peered around the narrow passage. That was when he was sure he saw something in the darkness, a flash of color, and a whip of black. The former was like a slithering trail of green stars as it flickered out, and the latter almost like a snake's tail. Either way, the dragon was not about to be caught off guard as he dropped low, spread his wings, bared his fangs and snarled with a snort of flame.
"Okay, who's there? Show yourself!" There was no response from the gloom save for the symphony of drips and clatters, at least until what sounded like claws scattering and what could only be four specks of green flashed, before disappearing.
What is this, am I going mad? The bedraggled dragon wondered as he snorted more flames and growled again.
"I mean it, I'm warning you! Show yourself now or I'll torch this place!" There was a moment of silence as if the world was taking an anxious breath before a shimmer of light caught his eyes and he turned like a whip to find the last thing he expected.
A dragoness loomed from the darkness, her scales shimmering and red as fine rubies, her figure slender and ravishingly gracious. She had a webbed dorsal fin and claws like black obsidian. Her horns were like delicate corkscrews and her teeth pearly white, yet all paled in comparison to her odd, and startlingly magnificent, emerald-green eyes.
"O-Oh my... I... I'm so sorry I scared you, I thought I was alone in here," she stammered, her worried tone still as smooth as melted chocolate as the male dragon balked in shock.
A dragoness here, alone? She doesn't look like a soldier, what is she doing? Thought raced through the young dragon's mind as he went from defensive fury to stunned shock, stammering as the dragoness offered a kind smile.
"My, you do look cold, so battered and roughed up?" She observed, starting to creep around him, and taking particularly long looks at his tail. "But so strong and lean, you're a soldier I presume?"
Her words were like the soft hum of bees in a brilliantly flowering summer meadow, each prim syllable as gracious as pleasant bird song. Yet the dragon's rugged exterior hardened, his face solidifying into a stoic mask as he snorted back.
"I... I... Yes, I'm a soldier, I try to keep myself in prime condition." He flexed a wing, almost instinctively desiring to show off to such a pretty face before he shook his head.
What am I doing, she's not real, this has to be some kind of sick hallucination, it's all in my head! His weary mind reasoned, fearing that the cold wilderness may have driven him to madness already. I've been out here too long, I should have never come back this way!
Terrified he'd die out here alone, however, he was at least warmed by the sight of the dragoness smiling at him. It was almost as if she was thinking the exact same, like she liked him in some way. Even so, there was something about her, something he could not place his talon on, yet it felt so glaringly obvious. As prim and propper as she looked, with her regal body and dainty expression, her eyes were so striking, such a stark departure from her ruby-red scales that they were almost hypnotizing.
"Oh, and it shows, you are rather stunning, I must admit." The crimson siren cooed as if calling him like a sailor to his death upon gnashing rocks as she crouched to inspect his legs. "So big and tough, just what a poor, lonely dragoness stuck out here needs."
He did his best not to look at her tail as it rose, swaying in the air like a flaming whip as she wiggled her toned flanks.
Urg, it's been so long since I had a good time with another dragon. Male or female, I don't care but... He slammed a mental door in the face of his wandering desires, silencing his lusty fantasies. No, that is all just instinct talking, I don't need sex I...
As if sensing his inner turmoil like it were the heat radiating off a campfire, the sleek dragoness swiftly rose, offering him another coy smile as she purred.
"It's been such a long time since someone so handsome has wandered into my lair like this, and even longer still since one has felt a desire for me as strong as the one I sense within you."
Low to the stone, with shoulders rolling like some predatory feline, the stranger prowled around him, purposely emphasizing the alluring sway of her hips as her prey gawked. The only sound was the tapping of her dark claws as she purred.
"You have been without a mate for so long. I feel it, that longing, that burning, you have fought for so long, for so much, and no one respects you in that way." She lifted a foreclaw to her slender snout and added. "Isn't that right, Kenox?"
His name somehow revealed to him as the sultry dragoness caught a glimpse of the bulge unwillingly swelling between his shifting thighs, the soldier swallowed his uncertainty, and snorted.
"Who are you, what is this, how do you know my name?" His muzzle wrinkled into a dangerous snarl as he listed his demands, but the dragoness merely pranced back like a delicate fawn. "Tell me what's going on, are you some kind of witch?"
His sexy tormentor simply rolled her eyes as she deadpanned, "If I were, do you really think I'd tell you?"
Yet just as soon as it had peaked, her sarcasm whined and she added. "No, I'm not a witch, but I am all yours if you want me." She practically glided back over to him as if levitating on a thin sheet of mist, her lidded eyes inches from his as he snarled.
This is a trick, she's a sorcerer, a monster. Kenox inwardly concluded as he snapped.
"N-no... I'm not interested, I..." One look at her and he could hardly deny that, if not for his pride, he would have jumped and mounted her right there.
No, that's... Gah, curse my instincts! He winced, fangs grinding as his jaw clenched tight, anger rising in a spike of rage and he lashed out. I'll just force her away!
As if expecting the violent retaliation, the sly dragoness hopped back with no more than a simple step, avoiding the swipe from her prey's forepaw as she instinctively snorted a burst of green fire at his right forepaw.
Kenox winced, expecting to be burned and inwardly cursed himself for his own stupidity. Yet there was no scorching sensation, only that of odd, jelly-like goo on his forepaw before it hardened as solid as rock. Is she turning me to stone, what is this?
The dragon started to panic, pulling frantically at his bound forepaw as he saw it encased in sticky, green resin. Yet his efforts were in vain as the moment his opposite paw hit the floor, it too was struck down by the dragoness's breath, as were his hind paws as she stalked around him.
"There, that should make you far more negotiable," the dragoness cooed as she slinked back to his front, all the while her prey frantically struggling to break free, with flaps of his wings and lashes of his tail.
"What are you doing, let me go, witch!" he demanded, smoke seeping from between his fangs as he snarled at her. Yet she bore no hint of intimidation as she cooed.
"Oh I will, when you calm down." Her dazzlingly beautiful expression was now more infuriating than admirable, and Kenox huffed as he snorted fire. "Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you, you'll only burn yourself, and only my fire will melt the resin."
"Gah, let me go!" Kenox repeated angrily, pulling and tugging so much it was a wonder he did not pull his own battered paws off, yet the dragoness simply watched him like he were a struggling fly in a web as she purred.
"The more you ask, the less likely I am to do as you want," she giggled, and pushed to the very edge, Kenox blasted fire right at her, only for the flames to part over her scales like waves upon cliffs, her expression falling flat as she hissed.
"Fireproof scales, you fool. Did you really think I'd be so silly?" The coy smirk that followed was infuriating beyond imagination, yet before Kenox could protest further, his tormentor slid back over to him, running a talon over his chest plate. "After all, you are like a lump of smoldering hot coal under this armor, so handsome and I'm so needy."
Her invasive claw continued under his belly, rubbing him like a divine treasure until her paw grasped his scaly sheath, a feature she admired like it were a precious diamond.
"Tell me you don't desire my attention and I'll stop, that's all you need to say," she offered, and Kenox opened his muzzle to say just that, before pausing.
Do I? It's been so long as she's so beautiful, even if this is a tick, I'm pretty much dead out here anyway, why not die happy? Thoughts spinning in his head, the grumpy dragon outwardly snorted, as he admitted.
"I-It has been a very long time I...." He swallowed his pride. "I... Well, you are rather pretty and..." He winced. "I did always kind of like a bit of bondage."
The ruby siren simply glanced at the resin bonding his limbs and grinned as she inspected his belly. "Oh, a kinky boy, I'd never have guessed."
Kinky, she has no idea. Kenox inwardly mused, recalling the few past times he'd indulged, only for his thoughts to die as the dragoness slid her head under him. Oh... Oh my!
Like she was some kind of master, the sensation of her perfectly stimulating tongue against his cock slit summoned a stunning spike of pleasure. She uttered a deep purr, the vibrations reverberating from the depths of her throat buzzing along her muzzle and tingling his nerve endings. All the while, her butt was up and bouncing against his shoulder as he outwardly uttered a shrill gasp.
"Grrr, y-you... It's like you have visitors here often?" he forced, face contorting as he felt his glowing blue member start to slip free, enticed from his sheath by the dragonesse's invading tongue. "Y-you feel good... You are good at that!"
Still believing this could be no more than a pleasurable dream summoned by his last desperate hope to feel good as he was left to die in the cold wasteland, Kenox wiggled his hips, instinctively thrusting forward against his new lover's muzzle as she pulled back to admire his glorious member as it loomed free. Its subtle blue glow shone against her sleek scales, as her green eyes narrowed and she purred deviously.
"My, my, how on earth do you keep that between your legs?" She swayed her own hips in apprehension, and stuck in place, Kenox could only glance back around his shoulder, seeing her butt, and a glimpse of his cock. "I could hardly walk if I were that big!"
"Lucky you seemed to be just fine back here then?" he responded, taking in a good whiff of her succulent odor as he gave in to his desire and moved his nostrils close to her rear. "Not many dragonesses have ever come on to me so strong, let alone one so beautiful."
Glancing back at him with narrowed eyes, the dragoness knew exactly what he was up to as she cooed.
"Really? Well, they are all missing out. You're such a handsome stud." She lifted her tail over her back, presenting herself in full as she added. "Why don't you get a little taste of me while I see to you, handsome?"
I can't say I don't want to, even if she was male I'd love to get a hold of that ass. Kenox thought hungrily, yet with his limbs pinned in place, he could only shift his muzzle forward as the dragoness thrust back, practically burying his snout between her wet labia as she moaned.
"Oh, that is it, such a good boy!" She gasped, wiggling her hips as Kenox did his best to recall how to treat a lady, licking at her silken channel with more than a little to be desired.
Even so, his ruby lover giggled. "You're still kinda new to this, aren't you?" Despite everything, Kenox blushed around his muzzle full of pussy, and the dragoness coiled her tail around his neck to hold him there as she added. "Oh, I can tell. I'll have to fix you up on that later, but first..."
Before Kenox could even consider her words, the dragoness plunged her muzzle onto his cock, her long tongue coiling around it as the sensation brought him to half-mast. He was strained and exhausted, but weeks of no relief brought him to a quick climax, and as his lover's tongue corkscrewed around his cock, pumping up and down until his knot bulged like a ripe apple, he was getting close.
Gah... I didn't even know I was so horny! He thought as his own tongue wormed its way deep into her pussy, questing for that soft spot he knew all dragonesses loved.
Funny, she is kind of odd back here, why does some of her flesh look green like her eyes?
No matter his small observations, he could hardly think as the dragoness wiggled her jaw, head rocking back and forth on his cock like a piston as he swiftly rose to full mast and snorted into her pussy.
Hmmm, she is so good... I... I'm so close! Yet just as soon as he was on the edge of climax, the sensation ceased, and like the wicked tormentor she was, the dragoness pulled back, smirking at him as he paused. No, no what is she doing... Grrr... I... So tight between my legs!
"Nice and wet, just how I need you," she mused, running a sharp talon from the tip of his cock to the base as if it were a fine sword hot off the forge. "You'll do very nicely, love."
She shot him a coy look over her shoulder, muzzle sleek with drool as she robbed him of her succulent ass and turned to face him with a deliciously devious grin.
"W-why did you stop... I... Ohhhh, so much pressure!" Kenox could hardly talk, yet his lover seemed far from distracted as she coiled up to him and nuzzled his neck. "Please, just finish me!"
Her grin did not fade as she started to nibble his scales. "Oh, I will my sweet, I will. I just needed you all pent up and ready, and you have behaved so well so far." Kenox's eyes narrowed like daggers as he did his best to ignore the fire within his loins. "W-what do you mean... I..." His words were stolen as he grunted.
The dragoness cocked her head, looking at him like he was a naive little hatchling with no idea what he was in for, as her green eyes flashed like arcane flames and long fangs suddenly seemed to melt into existence from under her upper lips.
"You will see. You're such a good, fitting dragon." She snaked her tail to rub his midsection like it were fertile farmland ready to be sown as she sprang forward and bit his neck, long fangs slowly pressing into his scales.
Kenox jumped against his restraints, panic flooding his exhausted body. Yet any pain that the penetrating teeth may have summoned was stolen as a dulling, almost pleasurable sensation bloomed from the bite. First filling his neck, then blossoming into a blissful hue over his whole body as he wavered. Staggering, the last thing he saw before his vision faded, was the mysterious dragoness peering at him lovingly, her bright, green eyes the final feature to disappear.
