Lab Rat 2 - The Beginnings

I wandered around the zoo looking in at all the animals. Most of them were very interesting and I was curious to see what happened when I transformed them. As the sun got low I slipped into the trees and hid myself. Out of sewer pipe next to me crawled out my pure white rat. "Hi!" He hugged me and I covered his mouth. "Shh...Can't be loud right now Eric," I whispered to him and he nodded. He smelled of sewage and I held my nose.
Once the sun went down and the janitors left the two security guards wandered the zoo. Eric and I both made our ways back to the sidewalk and made our way to the reptile house. "What we getting?" He asked as I pushed open the door and slipped in. I shut the door silently and walked into the greenhouse like room. On my left a large tank in a fake Aztec looking wall with iguana's inside. I made my way deeper until I found the perfect specimen for strength.
An eight foot wall of glass foot thick glass. Water at the glass and stretches over to a fake stone river bank. I clicked on the flashlight and came face to face with a mouth full of big teeth. "Hello gorges," I smiled and the thirteen foot Nile Crocodile stared back at me. Eric cowered behind me and I pulled out a tablet. These tablet were the gel based version of the concoction. They were covered in pheromones to attract animals. I tossed it up and over the wall landing in the water. It started to dissolve and the water turned bright yellow. The crocodile quickly jolted and grabbed the tablet swallowing it.
It crawled up onto the back and collapsed onto its belly. "What if it doesn't work on reptiles?" Eric asked hiding behind me. "Then he'll die and we'll move to the next exhibit," I answered and the animal began to glow. This was the first time I actually saw the transformation process. It's body contorted and shook. It's body growing bigger as it's entire DNA structure altered. Suddenly the glow faded and I shinned the flashlight into the tank. It was black but suddenly two hand the size of my head hit the glass.
I shinned it into the water and saw the elongated muzzle of another abomination. Its huge body dwarfing both me and Eric. I shinned it back along it's face to the glowing yellow eyes. It was handsome in it's own way. Thick plates stretching down his back to its six foot tail. It was extremely muscular with long strong legs and powerful arms. Thick claws scratching the glass.
"Can you understand me?" I whispered and it's head nodded once. I pointed to the top of the glass and I slipped down to the bottom of the tank out of sight. "Step back Eric," I smirked and we both stepped back. Suddenly with a loud splash the croc erupted up from the water landing on top of the flat glass. Cracks shot though the glass just before it jumped down landing just in front of me. I held out my hand and it leaned in sniffing softly. It towered over me and it pressed it's nose against my hand. I ran my hand along its teeth.
I'll admit I was nervous. A crocodile could take an arm or a life without tweaking. But these beast could probably snap me in two and not think anything about it. It opened its mouth slightly and I had to test it's loyalty. "Careful Master," Eric peaked around me. I pushed my hand into its mouth and touched it's large tongue. It's jaws slowly closed just resting it's teeth on my skin. "...Open," I ordered and his mouth opened slowly letting me pull my arm out. "Good boy," I dropped onto all fours and we walked through the reptile house.
I passed the lizards none of them really catching my interest. Eric sitting on the crocs back as it walked on all fours next to me. It fallowing me as I entered the snake exhibits. "Corn Snake, Rat Snake, Rattle Snake...Rattle snake?" I stopped and looked in the dark case. The serpent curled up under a warm stone. "What do you think Eric?" I asked and he looked in and it looked at him. He squeaked and ducked afraid of snakes.
I snapped and the massive croc swiped his arm shattering the glass case. The rattle started to shake and I let the tablet get nice and warm in my hand. I held it up and let it drop in front of the rock. Instantaneously the serpent whipped out and swallowed the hot tablet. We all three back up and the under the rock began to glow. I turned and saw a large tank across a wall. Inside a twenty foot python. With another snap the croc punched a hole through the glass and I tossed in another table.
The python sniffed it and slowly swallowed. I turned and walked up to a small bench and waited. "I'll call you Sobek; that was the crocodilian god of the Nile; and your as close to a god as one can get," The croc laid at my feet. Eric snuggled up on my lap just before two much larger figures slithered out of the darkness. Two Naga's; modern medusa's of my own creation. The rattle snake had a twenty foot tail and the python had a sixty foot tail. Both similar in look; there natural markings and size telling them apart. Muscular upper bodies and serpentine faces. Their forked tongues shooting out of there mouths tasting the air.
Eric hid his face in my chest and shook afraid to look. I held out my hand and both of them smelled my hands. There long arms and clawed hand resting on the bench. "Hiss, hiss to let me know you understand your new master," I ordered and both females let out long hisses. The rattle snakes tail shaking letting out a loud signature sound.
Suddenly a flashlight hit me and I looked away. "Freeze!" Both security guards yelled. "Incompetent idiots," I grumbled and snapped. My pheromone levels rose slowly and the animals reacted. Even Eric started to snarl. "What the hell are they?" One guard asked; the Tazer gun in his hand shaking. "I don't know," The other said and like a rocket the crock ran forward. They both fired the points bouncing off his scales. They both ran back into the greenhouse quickly getting lost amongst the foliage. "Where's the door?" One yelled as they both stopped next to a tree.
The other didn't answer and the guard looked back seeing just a thrashing arm hanging down. His eyes trailed up seeing the rest of his body wrapped in the thick tail of the python. His body wrapped around the tree to his human half looking clawed to the tree. His orange eyes moved from the ball of muscle and scales to the free guard. He hissed and with a convulse of his muscles the arm went limp as the guard was physically crushed. Bits of blood dripped out of the tail before she dropped the bloody mass of unrecognizable flesh.
The first guard turned to run but meet the eyes of a rattle snake. Her rattle starting the sound making him shake. He reached for his knight stick. But in that instant for him to touch that night stick the snake opened it's mouth and sunk it's fangs into his shoulder. The guard yelled and she let go slithering up a tree. The guard held his bleeding wounds and fell to his knees. His body began to swell his skin slowly tearing. Blood pouring from the tears. His heart expanding as well; until it simply burst killing him.
The serpents slithered back to me as Eric calmed down. "your not angry anymore are you master?" He asked and licked my nose. "No of course not," I rubbed his back and he nuzzled under my chin. "Is the deed done?" I asked and the three slowly moves back to me. They all nodded and I stood up. "Well then lets move on shall we," I turned and walked out through the exit. All of my creations fallowing me as we made our way to the African exhibits. I knew soon if the guards didn't report back the guy in charge would investigate for himself.
I could maybe do two more animals before I had to do part two of my plan. I found myself staring at the black rhinoceros who laid fast asleep. I whistled and it shook and peered up with sleepy eyes. I tossed a tablet and it clicked on the ground before landing in front of him. He sniffed it and licked it up before laying down to sleep again. I turned to the exhibit just behind it and looked in. I was welcomes with a roar of a Bengal tiger. I looked at my watch and tossed in another tablet.
I waited and soon tow beings crawled up and out of there exhibits. The first being completely grey with thick muscles and tough skin. His muzzle have a tall sharp horn. His large hands fisted as he balanced on his to large feet. He grunted as the orange stripped feline stood next to him. Him as muscular with long claws and a swishing tail. Both breathing hard. Almost instantly they got onto all fours before me. My pheromones were stronger and they instantly understood who was alpha.
I checked my watch; two o clock. "Time to leave," I ordered and headed to the back gate. This gate was used for trucks when they brought in new animals. It had barb wire across the top to keep thieves at bay. The thick lock on the gate was a bit of a problem. "Would you mind clearing our path?" I motioned to the Rhino and he nodded. "Two bizarre robberies fallowing two murders; Last night a break in at the local zoo lead to the robbery of certain animals; two snakes, a tiger, a rhino, and a crocodile were all missing. Also two security guards we're found mutilated, after that a local bank was robbed around three o clock this morning," The new reported said and I laughed. This set to the purchase of the small sixty five mile stretch of inhabited forest.
The more money I gave the more I got. I could make the island in exactly what I want Soon I had a plane tickets, a home, and plenty of money to keep going in my research. Now the only problem was to safely transport my creations and tablets. Not to mention obtain more animals to transform. The people in college were right. I was Dr. Moreau. I wasn't harming my animals only giving them a better life. I would never ask them to do anything they didn't want to. I hadn't gone made with power but I had gone bad. But was it really such a bad thing to be a complete and total genius.
