The Great Jaggi, as we all know, is the leader and alpha male of a pack consisting of young Jaggi and female Jaggia (see photo references below). He is a bird wyvern type monster and bares a strong resemblance to the raptors of prehistoric ages. A pack will only ever have one Great Jaggi and it is obvious which it is as he is noticeably larger than all other members of his pack and will always be seen howling and barking orders. He grows from being an immature Jaggi to the rank of Great Jaggi by being aggressive and decisive, usually by defeating the leader of another pack in a contest of strength or by adopting an abandoned pack whose leader may have been slain by a hunter or another monster. A fully mature Great Jaggi can range anywhere from 27 to 37 feet in length while standing at about 7 to 8 feet tall.
The Jaggia in the pack are all female and they reach an age of sexual maturity at about two years. They are noticeably smaller than their alpha males, usually not reaching anything more than 20 feet long while actually standing shorter than an average human. Their size does not make them any less fierce, however, and they will always be at the front lines with the Great Jaggi whether it be for hunting or exploring. In fact, without his loyal group of Jaggia, the Great Jaggi would probably be a very poor predator.
As leader of the pack, the Great Jaggi has a very active sex life, probably to the envy of males of many species. The Jaggia of his pack will only ever mate with him, and should any of the immature Jaggi attempt a coupling with them they will attack and drive him out of the pack altogether. That being said, however, the Jaggia will not simply accept the mating without at least a little courtship. Following the Great Jaggi, they already know he is a good leader and provider, that his genes are strong and will be a benefit to furthering the species. Otherwise they would've left him long before ever mating with him.
When they are in heat, the Jaggia release pheromones which will alert the Great Jaggi to their readiness. They will also act more submissive during their period of heat and are not shy about nuzzling and rubbing up against their leader, a vast difference in their typical behavior. The Jaggia, unlike the Great Jaggi, have no barbs on their tails, instead they have soft, feather-like accents which hang from the end of their tails, and they seem to particularly enjoy using those feathers to stroke the Great Jaggi's body. The display is very sensual and is always successful in stoking the big male's lust if scent alone is not enough to arouse him.
This species of bird wyverns mate through cloacas. Though the Great Jaggi, by necessity, has a penis located in his ventral cloaca while will engorge with blood when sexually aroused. This phallus is used only for passing semen on into the Jaggia's cloaca, it is not used for urinating as in other mammals or wyverns. The Great Jaggi's penis will typically reach lengths of 12-18 inches. The tip is sharply pointed to allow him to easily slide into the Jaggia's vent, the shaft then thickens gradually all the way to the base. At the last few inches, on the underside of the penis, small, frilled like appendages will stiffen and grow harder as the Great Jaggi is about to ejaculate, the purpose for these is to most likely stimulate the Jaggia into ovulation.
But before any of that happens, the Great Jaggi must court the Jaggia into accepting him. When he is stiffly aroused, he will make an attempt to quickly mount the Jaggia but she will hop away, turn around, and hiss at him. He will attempt to win her over by singing and dancing. The Great Jaggi's song will consist of various howls and growls, roars and whimpers, all the while he is hopping about and doing pirouettes in the air like an excitable little Jaggi. The scene is quite interesting to witness and there is a reason that Great Jaggi does not often mate in front of other creatures. The courtship dance makes him look more like a desperate lover than the fierce hunter he portrays himself as. As the dance carries on, the Great Jaggi will start to circle about his Jaggia and she, too, will eventually join in with his song. They will both lift their heads up high and howl together at the end, and it is then that the Great Jaggi knows she is ready to be receptive to him.
The actual act of mating is a bit of a tricky affair given their size difference. The Jaggia will lower her belly all the way so that it is touching the ground while keeping her haunches hiked up higher. She will lift her tail and curl it to the side, exposing her aroused vent which, by then, will be well lubricated from arousal and ready to accept the penis. The Great Jaggi will straddle over her, lowering his belly to pin the Jaggi beneath him. He will curl and tuck his tail down to angle his penis beneath the Jaggia's tail and will start to blindly poke about for his target. He does not have much control over his penis other than to flex it to try to raise it up a bit higher if needed. The Jaggia grows impatient often during this period and she voices her displeasure at the delay with growls. When the Great Jaggi does find his target, at last, he will lunge forward and waste no time in burying the entire length of his phallus within her. The force of it will often make the Jaggia howl in either pain or pleasure, it is unsure which, perhaps a mixture of both. He will use his small forelimbs to brace himself upon her back while he sort of bobs his tail and haunches back and forth, driving his penis into the Jaggia over and over again at an angle nearly parallel to the ground. A typical mating can take several minutes of thrusts and they will growl tenderly to each other all the while. As the Great Jaggi approaches closer to ejaculation, those stiff appendages on the bottom of his penis will engorge with additional blood and will tug and grind against the flesh of the Jaggia's fleshy cloaca and it is obvious when this happens as she will give a high pitched yowl. The Great Jaggi will increase his pace then, eagerly thrusting his way to climax, mating her with small, short thrusts to maximize the use of the stiff appendages. When the actual moment of release hits him, his frill and tail will go stiff, and the hair of his mane will stand on end. Surprisingly, he remains rather still during ejaculation, making sure his vent is firmly locked to hers while his seed is released, whimpering in pleasure. Once his climax is over, he will dismount promptly and strut about his Jaggia, who, by then, is as submissive as you will ever see one. She will obediently clean his penis with some licks before it retracts back up into his cloaca.
Afterwards, life returns to normal for the Great Jaggi and Jaggia. She will remain in heat for about a week, however, and they will mate once a day throughout that period. After the initial courtship of the first day they will not spend anymore time dancing, instead the Great Jaggi will mount her usually first thing in the morning. She will hiss at him and no longer accept his advances once the Jaggia is no longer in heat, and then about a week later she will lay a clutch of eggs, anywhere from 3 to 12 in total. The Jaggia will remain at the nest during incubation and the Great Jaggi will make sure she gets the first dibs of all kills before any others in his pack. The eggs will hatch after about 2 months of incubation and the Jaggia and Great Jaggi will coddle the young for about another half a year before they are big enough to join in the hunts as well.
