Chapter 6 - Sola's Little Gift

"Master! Pause the movie, I need to answer the door!"

It was movie day for Nova and Kitt, but it seems that their little session had been interrupted by a parcel delivery.

"Master! I need your signature! Wait, I can just copy it!"

Nova quickly signs on the delivery man's clipboard and takes the tall package into their house.

"What is this? I never ordered anything? Did Mina send me something in the mail?"

"Let's see what's inside then."

Nova uses his strong dragon claws to cut apart the plastic and bubble wrap that surrounded the package and opened it.

"Huh? A vine plant? There's a note on the bottom as well..."

Kitt takes the note that was stuck on the bottom of the plant pot which reads as follows;

"Hello Kitt (or Nova)! I hope you received this little souvenir from my first mission with Mina in the jungle. I couldn't come directly back home as we had more assignments to attend to but I must say, working with your sister is very fun! For taking care of the plant, you just need to keep it watered and placed near your window so that it may receive adequate sunlight to stay alive. Another thing about the plant is that if you take care of it, it will take care of you so keep it happy and it'll keep you happy as well!"

"What's so special about this plant? It just looks like a simple vine plant to me, maybe when I water it later it will show me something."

Nova and Kitt set aside the plant for now and continued watching movies until it was already 9 PM and they had both skipped dinner due to eating many snacks to keep them full.

"Whoops! Nova, can you get the plant downstairs? I forgot we just received it today and I don't want to disappoint Sola by letting it wilt already."

Nova quickly floats the plant up to their bedroom along with a big blob of water.

"Well, I don't really have a garden or any gardening tools, so I guess getting water straight from the tap without any container is alright."

Nova sets the plant near the window and slowly waters it so as to not splash the room. After watering it, the plant seemed to move slightly, but neither of the two noticed its activity.

"Hmmm, nothing much... Let's let it rest for now and maybe tomorrow it'll show a different result."

Kitt and Nova head to bed and just a few hours after they had completely fallen asleep, the vine plant grew longer in the night and made its way to the bed where it dragged Kitt out of the sheets and rested his body on its pot holder with more vines supporting his arms and legs like a throne.

"Nova... stop hogging the blanket..."

Kitt was still deeply asleep when the vines took him from his bed with the first thing that it did was get inside of his clothes where they slowly caressed his body so that he does not wake up.

Nova released the cat plant creature from his grasp and when he did, it immediately lept towards Kitt and gave him a warm hug.

"Uh... hello there! Are you the vines of the potted plant?"

The creature quickly nods at Kitt, seemingly mute and unable to communicate verbally.

"Was the plant that Sola sent us really safe?"

"I'm sure it's fine, Nova! He seems very kind and looks exactly like me!"

Speaking of very kind, the green cat suddenly kissed Kitt in the mouth with its tongue extending and exploring his entire mouth looking for water.

"Mmmm... cough, cough... what was that!"

"Hey you cat thing! Don't do that to master!"

Hearing Nova's exclamation, the green cat looks at him and sees him as another possible source of water and lept at Nova to give him a tongue kiss as well.

Nova seemed to be powerless at the wonderful kissing of the green cat and fell over on the floor with the cat pinning him down by growing vines that held down his arms and legs. Seeing Nova's predicament, Kitt tries to pull off the green cat from him which worked, but instead redirects its attention to him.

"Crap... Nova, get some water and maybe he will- Mmmphh!"

The green cat pins down Kitt as well to find more water in his mouth with Nova getting up and going to the bathroom to get some water to save Kitt.

"Hey weird cat! Here's the water you're looking for!"

Nova splashes the green cat with an orb of water which made it immediately avert its attention to him.

"Uh oh, his eyes look thirstier than ever!"

The cat runs at Nova and Nova splashes it with even more water until he finally exhausted his last supply and at the same time the last ball of water hit, the thirsty cat seemed to have calmed down.

"Phew... What a weird cat! So what do we do with him, master?"

"Let's try talking to it first."

The two approach the green cat who was now content with Nova's water orbs and they guide it to the bed to talk.

"So... who and what are you?" Kitt questioned the cat but it simply pointed at him.

"You're... me?" It nodded its head,

"Well, do you want a name?" It then swayed its head left and right,

"Huh? You don't want to have a name? Why so?"

The cat then pointed at the clock.

"You mean... you won't be here forever?"

The cat nodded its head and for the reason why it wouldn't last forever, it pointed at Kitt's crotch, expressing its need for his fluids to survive.

"Oh, you need my semen to survive as well?"

The cat then nods both a yes and a no answer.

"Huh? Yes and no? What do you mean?"

Seeing that communicating to Kitt was getting difficult due to the inability to speak, the cat puts its paws on Kitt's cheeks and closes its eyes to relay its thoughts directly into his head.

"Kitt, I am very thankful for your gift of life as well as Sola for letting me meet you, but my time in this form will not last very long. Very soon I will wither away with my thoughts and sentience coming to an end. I am very thankful for the water you and Nova had provided me, but that had only slowed down my inevitable withering."

Hearing the cat's despairing fate, Kitt exclaims his sadness and hopes to keep it alive for as long as possible.

"No! I won't let it happen! I'll keep you alive until we figure something out to save you!"

"Huh? What is it master? What did the cat tell you?"

Kitt replies with teary eyes and a sniff,

"He won't last until the end of the day... Even with water and my semen, he will still wither away!"

The cat then retracts its paws from Kitt's cheeks and puts them on Nova's instead.

"Nova, thank you for the water, but my death is inevitable, so I hope you and Kitt may still keep each other happy when I pass away."

"I'm sorry Nova, but it's no use, my other compatriots have extracted the DNA of other beasts like Kitt and grown like me, but none had survived after 12 hours, even with a beast's essence supporting their life, their time was only extended by at least 30 minutes."

Nova and Kitt despair at the inevitable fate that their new plant friend's time was coming to an end and that the time they could have spent together had been wasted waiting for them to wake up.

"Green cat! No, I'll call you Plitt! Plitt, I'll keep you alive until Nova figures out a way to let you live forever!"

The green cat or Plitt then communicates to Kitt once again.

"I have told you before that it's impossible to prolong my life. Do not grow attached to me Kitt as it will only hurt you in the future."

"Nonsense!"

Kitt quickly takes off his clothes to feed Plitt to at least buy Nova time to figure something out to save him.

"Kitt, what are you doing?"

"I'm going to feed you my semen!"

Plitt finally recovers and overhears their conversation which prompts him to immediately try and talk to Nova.

"Nova, will you really be able to save me?"

"Yes I can!"

Hearing the thought of being saved from destined death through having a real body, Plitt once again felt an emotion that no plant would have ever been able to, which was the feeling of reassurance and joy. He still couldn't believe Nova's discovery and hugged the two at the same time and began to cry glowing blue tears, similar to the strange liquid that he had secreted from inside his body, but that doesn't matter anymore. A plant whose goal was to only live and die had been given a new chance at life to become a real cat and experience the joys of the world with no fear of withering in sight.

"Alright then! Plitt, let me cover you in my slime and I will make your new body in no time!"

Plitt reluctantly nods and gets up from the bed and holds hands with Nova who broke down into a puddle of slime right before his eyes and formed a slime cocoon around him. And so the metamorphosis began, every fiber of plant life had been turned into flesh and bone, the short grassy fur had been turned into real green fur, and the wooden cat claws had been turned into real ones. In just ten minutes, the transformation had been completed with the cocoon opening up, revealing a real green cat, complete identical proportions and male features with Kitt. The cocoon eventually broke down and returned back into Nova's dragon form.

"Sniff... I really can't believe you two would go so far for me..."

"Wow! Plitt, you can talk now!"

"Thank you two for giving me life..."

Plitt cries tears of joy once again but this time they were real tears, real salty tears of joy.

"So how do you feel, Plitt? Does your body feel alright? I made sure to give you a decently sized package if you know what I mean."

Nova gives a proud smirk to Plitt of his skills of matter and body manipulation. Kitt then finally noticed how Plitt was naked and was basically the same as him, but colored green, but being naked didn't matter to Plitt as having clothes was still a foreign concept to a newly reborn plant cat.

"Well, let's get you dressed up now. I'll have to teach you how to act like a real cat too!"

"Sniff... thank you..."

Plitt gives one more hug to Kitt before the two get some clothes from Kitt's wardrobe and go to the bathroom to get dressed.

"Ring! Ring! Ring!"

"Hmm? Sola seems to be calling me!"

Nova also had a phone of his own now, but it was an old flip phone unlike Sola's new touch screen phone, but they can still call each other through their different phone models. Nova then summons his phone and answers the phone call.

"Hello Sola!"

"Hey Nova! Have you received the plant I sent back home?"

"Yeah, we have."

"Can you show me? I hope you hadn't forgotten to water it, I wanted it to be a surprise, but I guess it would have been dangerous to keep it a secret, but it was too late when I changed my mind. So anyways, the plant is sentient and loves to be played with so I hope you can spare some time in your day to show it some love!"

"Sola, the sentient plant you sent us is more than just a plant now..."

"Hmm? Did something go wrong?"

"You'll find out soon enough."

"Hey, don't leave me hanging!"
