Halloween was right around the corner, too close for comfort for Draco, the blue ice dragon who had a party he was expected to attend.

The costume he'd ordered had not arrived, the second priority shipment had gotten lost, he was out of options, cancelling the orders and heading straight to the high street. He was internally begging for a shop that would offer at least something, even if he had to go as a damn bedsheet ghost.

He took calming breaths as he walked down the road, the standard costume shop was shut already, even if he'd wanted to just go for one of the discount off the shelf kinds.

His exploration led him to dead ends, stress mounting until he saw an alleyway, an old, small and cramped path which was festooned with festive decorations. Draco had never been down that way and intending just to take his mind off his frustrations, he started to walk the path.

The lights directed his eyes, drawing him to a store that he'd never known to have existed before.

He pushed his way in, setting a bell to jangle, announcing his arrival. He looked around but the only other person he could see sat behind a counter in the corner, an immobile figure hidden in a dark shawl with an old fashioned radio droning out eerie and foreboding noises, just shy of sounding like proper speech from where he stood.

If the owner's choice of decoration was anything to go by Draco half suspected that they were doing this just to unnerve visitors for the season. Still, they didn't raise a greeting, nor try to engage Draco, simply letting him browse.

Several pieces of seasonal miscellany were on show, from lawn-decorations to mobiles that could be hung indoors. Even a small stock of packaged halloween-themed treats to enjoy or hand out. He stepped past all of those, attention drawn to the almost empty clothing rack at the back.

Several costumes hung in place, all seemingly full body ones too, to help an enterprising fur dress up as a monster or demonic beast of some manner. Among them was one that stood apart to Draco, not least because it seemed the most viable one to wear in size and weight despite being made of bulky, if high quality latex, but because it looked remarkably different.

A deep bluish-black covered the body, with a white underbelly and feet. A bright ice-blue shone from the costume's hair and two horns from the temple, with fluffy bands at the ankle, wrist and down the back of the thick meaty tail that was itself striped, with vast bands of black split by thin strips of white and tiny strips of the blue. It had a far more friendly face, too, the mask having golden irises and a cocky open-mouthed smirk.

A thin plastic bracelet hung from one of the wrists, declaring the costume to be called 'Cosplay Creations: Dragon Girl, Hikaru'.

That was the other notable difference, two rounded breasts and a tight figure displayed a decidedly feminine appearance, where all the others were shrouded to be at least neutral. Yet from the volume of them and seemingly flat chest within, it almost looked like it was meant to be worn by a male.

Draco was in a dilemma, he didn't dislike the suit as such but showing up like that might surprise his friends. As soon as he thought that negative, his mind repeated it as a positive. It really would be quite the shock, probably worth it just to see their faces. And given his selection was so small this seemed like the most viable item to be had.

He wasn't aware of this Hikaru character being from anything despite the declaration of cosplay but that didn't matter. More pressingly, there didn't seem to be a price tag for her or any of the suits left on the rack, but before he worried it was one of those situations where 'if you had to ask, you can't afford it', he saw a small sign behind it, dsiplaying a reasonable price for rentals.

Still, before he could really decide, he needed to at least see if it fit. "Is it okay if I try this on?" He called across the shop. The figure behind the desk still had their back turned, but a lone elbow bent to show a gnarled hand waving dismissively. "Umm... okay, then..." Draco said before taking it as permission. "I'll try not to be long!"

He lifted the costume from a hanger that was stuck up its shoulders, gently sliding it off before throwing it over his shoulder and wandering to the changing room. He slipped out of his clothing beside the underwear and ever so carefully pushed his legs into the suit's, having to line up his tail at the same time. The feet and shins felt like a close fit, and while the thighs also felt tight to his skin, the suit's own padding inflated them, rounding them out. The tail was also heavy and hefty but not so much that it would grow uncomfortable, remaining tense enough when his own caudal limb slid in that it would hold and flex nicely.

It was surprisingly easy to slip on as rubber went and it held its form well, looking like a shiny skinned person instead of an actual costume, though that was only the legs. He'd have to see how it looked when it was finished.

As he pulled it up to his waist he let out a soft grunt, the suit really tucked in his belly, but a new concern had reared up; his wings.

"Hrmm." He inspected the costume and was unsurprised to find it hadn't compensated for winged creatures. Maybe he could close the zipper around as close as possible, tuck a shirt over the top and then find some body paint to colour his wings to match. It's not that he expected any of his friends would know he was doing the costume 'wrong' if so.

It was also a consideration for later, as while the costume had fit so far, it might not manage all the way. Particularly given the different facial structure and that the head didn't look any bigger than a normal face.

Continuing on, he pushed his arms into the sleeves, feeling a pinch of tightness at the fluffy coated wrists before his hands slid into the waiting gloves, even this seemed like some kind of sorcerous trickery, despite being veiled in rubber, his hands looked just as slim and remained dextrous as could be hoped for.

He shrugged his shoulders into place, tried to ignore the light press at his wings and lifted the costume head. The voluminous hair was also a single chunk of rubber, one which spilled loosely such that it would likely hide the zipper when shut. Soft padded rubber squashed against his neck and skull as he forced his head into it. The golden eyes lined up perfectly, granting him a lightly tinted view of the world, he turned to the mirror and was taken aback at how lifelike the costume's expression was. He didn't remember it looking like such an evil grin though.

Getting an idea, he folded his wings back, trying to tuck them under the prop hair as he pushed the zipper shut. It actually looked like it would work?!

His hand moved to his chest, subconsciously, brushing up the centre of his ribs, then taking one of the fortunately smooth shaded and nipple-less breast forms. Whatever was he doing, he thought to himself, trying to pull the arm away.

It didn't budge. He tried again, jerking the arm, definitely feeling his muscles and joints strain yet the suit itself seemed to stiffly fight back. "Finally.... I've been waiting there for two halloweens." A feminine voice crooned in his head before his body stretched out its limbs, arching his back and turning his head. His eyes tried to stick to the mirror, what was going on?!

"Hey! What is this?!" He tried to ask, hearing his own voice but that too was in his head rather than from the throat, like the femme one.

"Oh don't fight it yet, I'm not finished." The woman replied.

His uncontrollable arms moved behind his back as he leant forward, flapping the hair in place. It seemed to catch onto the suit like a sucker, compressing over the zipper, which Draco felt quivering and tightening, the hairpiece pressed over his wings, forcibly folding them as the split where the zipper was vanished, sealing up to tighten the costume that last inch to sit perfectly upon him.

"Mmmh, I don't know who you are." The voice called in his head, "But I'm Hikaru. Thank you for choosing me, I'll make sure you don't regret it."

He heard the same voice speak as the mouth on the suit moved in time. "Ugh, was this all I brought?" Hikaru said, looking down at Draco's clothing and dressing herself up within. She looked in his wallet, smirking to see at least a little cash. "Well, hopefully I'll make it before the department store's closing time, they're bound to have something that's more my style." Hikaru mused to herself.

"That's my money!" Draco tried to shout, again only echoing in his own head.

"Oh pipe down, you've already given me your body, would a few hundred dollars really make a difference beyond that?"

"It's the pri- mmmph. Mmmhph!?" The living dragoness costume yawned, pushing a hand to cover her mouth, the yawn seemed to make the mouth deepen and Draco could feel it as a growing pressure over his own lips, forcing them shut, pierced with a thin pipe.

"That's better." The voice said in his head. "Now, to show it's nothing personal, and that fair is fair. I'll give you a fighting chance, yourself." She said, lifting up a wire hanger that had been waiting on the floor. She held it out of Draco's sight and walked out of the changing room. "Though, even I don't know how this works. Like, I'm here now, but you're also here and aware, right? I think I'm me? But maybe I am just a copy too and my original is out there being puppeted still."

The dragon let out a muffled string of expletives, but each grunt got quieter, the grip on his jaw growing tighter as the costume made sure to mute him. She pushed the hanger forward and what Draco saw made his gut lurch. It was as if someone had latexified and deflated him. The same mix of blues, the wings, even his eyes were caught in a passive and friendly smile. A tag dangled from the suit's wrist. 'Cosplay Creations : Ice Dragon, Draco' it declared.

"Heh, don't worry, I'm not as mean as the costume that abducted me." Hikaru said in his head while walking to the store front, slipping a tip to the unmoving storekeeper as thanks for their time and delivering an unrequited chat. "As long as you don't struggle too much, I'll let you have a little control when I'm sleeping. And since it's still your body, I'll make sure I don't feed us anything you'll hate."

The dragon squirmed! He would fight this thing! One of his friends would surely notice, they had to! And if not... What did she mean about being a copy? And that costume of Draco on the rack. Did he have to wait to be worn so he could possess someone and act on his own like Hikaru did? Or even if someone did wear him, was he doomed to be stuck inside this other skin while a clone of his personality dominated a stranger?!

Whatever the answer, any hint of his masculine appearance was buried below the bubbly and happy appearance and personality that now piloted him off to renovate her wardrobe...
