White. That was the only color in the grand hall, where there sat just a single marvelous chair in the center of the hall. In that chair, sat a bear. A grizzly bear, sitting tall and strong. He wore no shirt. Displaying his muscles proudly. A scar over his chest was also his crowning glory. A symbol of a fight against a lion, which he won. In his right paw, he held a leash; this leash was connected to a collar, fitted around a young Dalmatian.
This Dalmatian, sat on the floor next to the thrown bearing the one that held his collar. He was a lot leaner than the bear, but he had some well defined muscles. The Dalmatian wore only a pair of blue jeans with his collar. There was a look of sadness in his blue eye, but also a look of curiosity, and desire.
A Doberman entered the hall. He looked like the same kind of sleaze the bear and Dalmatian saw all the time in their home.
"So, you are Gerald I presume?" The bear spoke in a strong and baritone voice. He looked down at the Doberman, as though to judge him. The Dalmatian was also looking at the Doberman, but he wasn't looking at him with judgment, but with wonder, and intrigue, and fear.
"That's me big guy." The Doberman had no respect for the bear. This fact angered the Dalmatian and his face quickly contorted to one of disgust and hatred. If not for the collar, the Dalmatian would have torn the Doberman's throat out.
"So what is it you are looking for? Be specific. I don't have time for games." The bear stated bluntly.
"Well, I want someone to submit to me. Someone weak, who I could get a little physical with, who won't mind a bit of pain. A screamer would be nice too," the Doberman started licking his lips. "You know, you're little pet there would do nicely." He smirked as he eyed the Dalmatian. The Dalmatian recoiled in disgust.
"He is not one of our items. He is family here and I expect you to treat him with respect," anger filled the bear's voice.
"I need to respect him? While you have him on a leash like some pet? HAH! Whatever. You just need my money anyway, and I need to get off. So where is my whore?" The bear thought of having the Doberman kicked out of his facility. But he needed the money, so he complied.
The bear pulled out a cell phone and began calling the Doberman's purchase. "Berry? Yes, it's me. You have a client. He will be waiting in the lobby. Excuse him for he is a bit rude. I trust you can hold yourself together around him." And the conversation was over. The bear ordered the Doberman to wait in the lobby and that was the last the bear would see of him, until he came back. They always come back.
This was the kind of institute the bear ran. It was a kind of sex ranch. One that catered specially to homosexuals or those into in-between genders. Everyone knew about the house, but no one reported it, because most had been there, and knew their cover would be blown if anyone spoke a word about it. The bear, whose real name was Bernard, prided himself in keeping up appearances. As a result, his home was more of a mansion with very exaggerated themes in most places in the house. Such as the grand hall. Since that was where he conducted most of his business, he wanted it to feel like a place where you couldn't lie, and couldn't hide anything.
The Dalmatian, who was named Adi, was found by Bernard four years ago. Adi was badly beaten and malnourished when Bernard found him, and Bernard took pity on the then sixteen year old Dalmatian. During the beating, Adi had suffered a hard blow to his throat, causing him to go mute. But, his emotional nature allowed the others to understand what he was trying to get across without the use of sign language. Adi functioned as sort of a guard at the house. He would regularly roam the hallways and if he heard anything of suspicion, he was quick to find Bernard and have his owner handle the situation the only way Bernard could.
Adi also served as an emotional crutch for the workers. Most of them came from hard backgrounds, and Adi was there to listen to them. Since he couldn't really speak, they knew their pasts were safe with him. And Adi was happy to make others happy.
After the meeting with the Doberman, Bernard undid Adi's leash. But Adi didn't move, and neither did Bernard from his thrown. They sat in silence for a few minutes before Bernard spoke, "Adi, go get me my paperwork for that client," Adi obeyed. Standing up, the Dalmatian was actually quite tall. As he left the hall Bernard relaxed in his chair. When Adi came back he handed over the paperwork and Bernard just nodded in acceptance. "You are free to go Adi."
Adi lingered for a minute, but he knew Bernard needed his space, so Adi left the hall. Adi began walking down the clients' hall, which was covered in intricate red and gold wall paper, with dozens of doors lining the sides. Adi had made a note to count the doors when he was first allowed into this area of the house, 24 doors, behind each, something different for every kind of taste, not many Adi found pleasant.
As Adi walked down the hall, one of the doors opened and out walked one of the house's workers. A horse, clad in leather, named Reynard. Reynard was Adi's, closest friend in the house. While Adi was known for being there for others to talk to, Reynard was the one that "listened" to Adi. So when Adi saw him, Adi was quick to run up to him and greet him. Which, to Adi, consisted of running up to the horse and smiling and waving.
"Hey Adi! What's up?" Reynard had a smooth and friendly voice, and a kind smile, and kind eyes. Everything about him read friendly, but Adi had accidently walked in on one of Reynard's sessions, and had seen how easily Reynard could change that friendly disposition.
"I wanna talk to you about something," Adi portrayed by standing with his hands behind his back and by looking at the floor.
"Come on, let's go to my room. We'll talk there." The way the house worked, was that each worker, as well as Adi and Bernard, all had their own bedroom. The rooms in the clients' hall were used for business, the bedrooms were on the other side of the house.
Reynard's room was set up with a western feel. The floor was stone, and the walls wood. The bed frame and the drawers all looked hand carved from wood. Adi sat down on Reynard's bed while the horse changed out of his work clothes and into a pair of denim jeans and cowboy boots.
"So what's up Adi? What's bothering you? Something one of the workers did?"
Adi shook his head while looking down at his hands, fumbling with them.
"Bernard?"
Adi nodded his head while keeping his head tilted down.
"I know what this is about. You wanna tell him how you feel don't you?"
Adi started tearing up as Reynard sat down next to the Dalmation and pulled him into a tight hug.
"I know you owe him your life. And I'm sure he would understand how you feel. Just tell him. I've seen how he gets protective of you. He hasn't been like that with anyone else, and I've known him longer than that old bear cares to admit!" Reynard petted the Dalmatian's head as he spoke to him.
Adi looked up at the horse, his tears calming down.
"Yes I'm sure. Now go tell him. Do it boy! He's probably in his room right now. Go on! GET!"
Adi's energy hit a high as he jumped up off the bed and started running towards Bernard's room. As Adi got closer and closer to the room however, he started to slow down, and when he reached the hall Bernard's room was at, he was sulking his way up to the door. He looked up to the door. He started making excuses in his mind about why not to knock on the door, but he never got the chance to run away.
Bernard opened his door and looked out at the uneasy Dalmatian. "Yes Adi?"
Adi just stood there, staring up at Bernard. It appeared to Bernard that Adi's mouth was moving like he was stuttering.
"You want to come in pup?"
Adi closed his mouth and just nodded. As Adi walked into the room, Bernard eyed the Dalmatian, he already had a good idea at what Adi wanted to him to know. So, as Adi turned around to face Bernard, the bear was already one step ahead.
Bernard took Adi's face into his hand and stared into the dog's ice blue eyes as the trembled with fear and emotions. "So what is it you wanted to tell me?"
Adi just started back. Never before had he longed to speak. He wanted to say it with his own words. He wanted to say he loved the bear that saved his life, but he couldn't. So, he started to cry.
Bernard watched as the Dalmatian broke down in front of him. "It's alright Adi. I know." And with those words, Bernard pressed his lips against Adi's.
Adi's eyes shot open, but after the split second of shock, they closed.
When Bernard broke the kiss he spoke to Adi in a soft tone Adi had never heard before from the normally strict bear. "You love me don't know?"
Adi nodded.
"When I first found you, I saw a lot of me inside of you, but I didn't think I would fall for you. I took pity on you, I know what it is like to be beaten, to go what you went through, but I didn't confuse it for real feelings. You surprised me though. You didn't need my pity, you built yourself back up, all by yourself. You're strength and stubbornness, when I saw that, that was when I started having real feelings for you. You're emotional, but not weak." Bernard whispered to Adi, who shivered at his words.
"I wish I could have heard your voice. I bet it was beautiful. But, to know you like this, I couldn't imagine you as anyone else. I need you Adi. And I thought I never needed anyone." Adi smiled immensely at Bernard's words. His savior loved him.
"Adi, I love you." Bernard started rubbing his hands on Adi's body as he nipped at Adi's ear. Instantly Adi started blushing and started breathing heavily.
The night steadily progressed from that point. Bernard held Adi tightly as he claimed Adi as his own. The sound of Bernard whispering into Adi's ear could be heard outside as a group of the workers, lead by Reynard, listened against the door. They picked up on the words "Adi.", "I love you.", "I want to hear it from you.", and what sounded like a stained "Yip", but that one didn't sound like Bernard.
After all the noise had ceased, Reynard made everyone go back to their rooms. But he lingered as he listened in on the two new lovers.
"Adi, I promise to never hurt you like he did. As long as you promise to never leave my side."
Reynard knew what Adi's response was going to be. As he walked back to his bedroom, he thought back to what he heard. He never knew why Adi was beaten up originally. He figured Adi just never informed anyone, but Bernard had known. And in a place where secrets didn't really exist, he was utterly shocked, especially since he was such good friends with both Adi and Bernard. But, he smiled. "Those two trust each other like no one else. Heh, maybe the rest of us do have hope then."
