Reservoir Wyvern

It was a pretty clear winter morning on the Alaskan Valley where I live. I wake up before dawn as always; I slowly open my hazel eyes to see the insides of my cold cave located on the mountains. My place is pretty small since I am the only resident living in here, it is just a few meters deep. But that is more than enough for a five a half feet long Wyvern like me. My name is Teshi, I am a medium sized Wyvern with dark green scales and a short tail. I've lived here for a couple of years but not exactly my whole life. I am a loner adult Wyvern who prefers to enjoy a bachelor life. Back in the cave, I am just waking up and stretching out my wings and head. I've heard that just a minute after you wake up, you forget about half of your dream, and apparently this was no exception since I all could remember was a big brown ursine sleeping. I stand up and shake my whole body to remove whatever snow got on my while sleeping. I use my chicken-like feet to place myself at the cave's entrance and gaze down, the valley is a vast place that hosts a huge forest and a small human settlement. It is so early that the sky was mostly dark with only an orange glow coming from the horizon.   From the place I was standing at, the human village looked like just a collection of red and brown squares with thin lines of gray smoke coming from its chimneys. Ever since I've lived here, I've tried to avoid human contact whenever I can; it only took one missing sled dog and one unlucky Wyvern at the wrong place at the wrong time to make me become a target for human hunters seeking revenge. That is one event I cannot forget, one event my damaged left wing cannot forget. I haven't been able to fly as I did since then. I seem to be talking a lot of myself, don't think of myself as a selfish, full-of-himself flying reptile. I do have some friends but I just preffer to live alone like most Wyverns do. In fact, I was about to meet some old friend at the woods. After a few minutes of staring at nature, I spread my wings and take flight into the green abyss. It's a pretty clear morning, but the occasional Alaskan cool breezes that I love were present. I hate hot weather, cold one is just the one for me. I soar above the woods treetops. Despite having a not-so-good sense of smell I can feel the essence of the forest: it's hundreds of trees, dozens of different animal species and millions of snowflakes. You might be wondering, do all Wyverns have a poor sense of smell or is it only me? Well I personally feel I have the world's lamest reptile nose. In fact, I could tell an awkward story of me and my nose during the Wyvern mating season, but I'll leave it for later.   I decide to stand on the top of a tree and wair for some minutes until my friend arrives. I feel the cold of the forest on my scales and it makes me shiver quite a bit. The sun makes his presence more predominant by slowly turning the sky from dark blue to light orange and brings warmth to the valley. After just a while of waiting, I see a flying reptile silhouette headed towards me. It is my friend Dan, the small dragon. He is neither a miniature nor a baby dragon; rather, he is relatively short compared to other dragons of his age. However, this didn't stop him from being 2 feet larger than me. The red and black dragon landed over the tree in front of mine, it was slightly shorter so you can say we were even. The main difference between a Dragon and a Wyvern other than size are wings that are not attached to the arms and upper claws. Dan's body was much muscular than mine, but even with a damaged wing I was faster flying. The green eyes met the hazel ones. "Morning Teshi," he said to me, his voice was low and powerful.   "Morning Dan," I reply, mine was oddly deep and squeaky. "Been here for a long time?" he asked. He was looking around the place, possibly searching for his breakfast. "Just a while," I replied again. "Just a while..." Dan repeated. He wasn't usually the serious type, he is friendly although not the most energetic reptile in the world before eating his breakfast. Dan and I met a year after I arrived here. Since then, we meet on a nearly daily basis on the morning to eat together. Dan usually mauls his prey completely, but I am somewhat different... I have a weird thing for swallowing my whole prey alive. Dan would usually get his face and fangs covered in blood, but I enjoy feeling my meal moving inside me, until it doesn't move anymore. Dan's body language was acting strangely today, he seemed to be either nervous or tired. I didn't know what was intriguing him so much but if I didn't ask I would never find out. "So, what are you picking as your meal this morning?" I gently asked. He wasn't standing upright like a proud eagle as he always does, he rather looked indecisive and bored. He sighed.   "I'm just bored of the food in here," he scratched his chin with his right claw, "it's a very limited buffet." Well I have to agree with him. Hares, wolves, coyotes and deer were pretty much everything we ate. Don't get me wrong, I love canines. They have such a tender meat and smooth fur I cannot resist. Dan's favorite food were deer but that is another story. "What will you do, then?" I asked while looking around the place from above, hoping that a totally new species appeared by magic on the forest today... "I guess I'll go south and get some fish. Sorry, we'll talk later," he said as he took flight. I was faster than him flying because of my size and shape, but he had such powerful wings he created a small wind whirl that moved every tree in a short range. "Bye," I said as he disappeared into the air. This was a personality flaw of his, whenever he decided he would go after certain goal nothing would stop him until he reached it. Well, I'm not sure if I should call it a pro or con of his personality. It depends on how you look at it.   After Dan was gone, my hungry stomach growled loudly; it had been eleven hours since I last ate something and I had to act now. I wasn't feeling too hungry yesterday's afternoon so I decided to gulp down a dozen frogs from the southern river as a snack. They aren't as tasty as wolves, and with the help of my powerful digestive acids they disappeared in an hour. I slowly descended the tree which top I was standing at a minute ago, making sure I don't do a lot of noise. My hunting style is just like that, stealth instead of a quick and loud approach. My stomach growled again as I imagined some delicious canine descending my warm gullet. I use my powerful vision to scan the area... nothing around but snow; by doing a quick jump I arrive at the tree were Dan stood and continue moving among the trees with a 5 second interval so I can search the area. The darkness in the sky was almost gone by now. My jump-and-scan technique hasn't given me any result yet, actually, the more time I continue doing this the hungrier I get, and the more desperate I grow. I feel branches hitting my face every few seconds, how come the forest was totally empty? I couldn't explain.   Finally, I found a group of hares sleeping together and another group playing around. Rabbits aren't my favorite meal, but I've gotten a bit desperate after minutes of searching. I stay close to the hares making sure they don't notice my presence. As I said before, they aren't my favorite meal, mainly because I need to eat like 3 or 4 to satisfy me for a couple of hours. I slowly descend and watch over the rabbits, they all look really tasty, but then again, after a morning of quick exercises anything could make you drool. There were two rabbits that got my attention, they were away from both other groups. They were possibly a couple of lovers or some real good friends. Who cares, my stomach growls as I continue to look at them. I have to act now. I am ready. I start breathing heavily to get my heart pumping the blood I need to raise reflexes. This is a trick I learnt from another friend, I don't know if it really works but I like to believe it does. I remove my right claw from the tree and spread my wings, I lock on the pair of rabbits and start my countdown from 3.   The two rabbits return with the ones playing and I have to adapt to these new coordinates. Damn, well at least I might be able to catch a few more than what I expected. Three. Now it's four rabbits playing together. The sleepy ones seem to be waking up; if they're not already, they soon will be. Two. One of the rabbits moves behind a tree as I start to take off from the tree. Luck him, that tree just spared his life for today. One. I jump off the tree and glide rapidly into the bunch of rabbits, there are three of them in the middle and I try to catch them. My swift movements make a sonic sound the rabbits hear a quarter of a second before I get to them. I soar above the group and grab quickly the three of them by the ears with my claws. The other rabbits hop away while I land on the ground, my prey is secured by my wings and I move a lot of the snow around the place. The little hares feel tense and are trembling with fear, and I am the one who needs to stop their suffering. "Hello little ones," I say in an elegant voice. I know that they can't talk nor understand me but I enjoy playing with my food at times. "Are we feeling cold today? I have the ideal solution."   They were all really scared and this was another reason why I don't enjoy eating these kind of guys. Sure, they can reproduce fast and I don't have to worry about extinguishing them, but even this cold-blooded Wyvern has a heart. First, I grabbed one of them with my mouth while I prevent the other from escaping with my feet. I like to eat in a slow pace so that I can enjoy more my food. Dan initially disapproved of my "no chewing philosophy" since he thought my teeth would become weaker over time, since then I try to chew my food every once in a while... but I wouldn't do that now. I grab the bunny by the ears, they are soft and I like this; he is trembling like if it was at Antarctica, I don't like this. I slowly slip the bunny's head into my mouth while licking it completely, he is all wet now and must be feeling the warmth of my hungry maw and fiery breath. I don't breath fire, leave that for Dan. We Wyverns are more of a cross between a lizard and a bat, we don't inherit any special magical power or anything.   The bunny is now halfway into my mouth, he isn't tense anymore and is about to begin his journey down the hungry Wyvern's gullet. My stomach growled for a third time as it waited impatiently to be filled with fresh meat. I get a strong grip on the remaining rabbits while I ascend my fangs into the sky to let gravity do what it does best. I open my maw as big as I can while licking the rabbit's feet before he disappears. I can feel the bulk slowly descend my gullet... it takes it time to arrive at my impatient stomach bag. I like using my claws to feel my prey from the outside while it goes on its travel. The rabbit finally arrived after a one minute ride inside my gullet. One down, two to go. I feel like trying something different with the remaining rabbits. I lie down on my back over the snowy ground and hold each prey on different feet. They are standing right above the ground, I wonder if they have the intelligence to recognize the bulk on my stomach as their friend. A bulk that, by the way, wasn't moving a lot. I possibly underestimated my stomach acids.   "You'll be Mrs. Main Course," I say playfully to the bunny on my left feet, "and you'll be Mr. Dessert. You will soon meet again with Mr. Apperetive." I giggled. Waving my feet free into the air makes me feel like a hatchling again. I stare at the bunnies and lick my lips as I imagine them going down my gullet for a family reunion. Yep, Wyverns do have such things as lips. Sometimes I wondered what it felt like to be devoured whole, but I knew it'd be almost impossible for me to experience that. Almost. It's really convenient to be as flexible as I am, I can almost reach my nose with my feet; I'd now use this ability of mine to bring my food to my maw. I'm currently smiling while staring at the bunny and moving the bulk in my stomach with one of my claws. Gosh, I love being me. I make my right feet approach my face while opening my maw as big as I can. 'Goodbye little Mr. Main Course', I think while I carefully introduce it into my mouth. This bunny was slightly smaller and thinner than the first, its fur appeared to be of a darker gray shade than the others.   I take my time to taste the bunny before it is gone, nope, just because it has a different fur color it doesn't mean it would take different, that's sort of sad. With a big gulp I swallow it, due to its smaller size he arrived faster at my stomach bag. Now I had two bulks in my belly and was ready to receive the third one. Did I intentionally leave the third bunny for the end? Why, yes. Just like the second hare was the thinnest, this one was the chubbiest one; just by looking at it I was already drooling again. "You think you're the odd man out, don't you Mr. Dessert?" I said to the chubby bunny, who didn't move a bit but wasn't nervous either. "You're actually out special guest today." I used both feet to grab the special bunny. Just like I loved canines, I love eating fat preys. This third bunny was actually the first one to show resistance; by using both feet I manage to keep it still and make it approach my maw. I give a soft kiss to its back, it tasted delicious. As I lick it more, I open my maw to welcome the third breakfast snack of the day.   I hold it all on my mouth at once and try to not hurt it with my small teeth. I love the feeling of holding a fat prey like this one on my maw. I actually start to get aroused by this, however little, but it was there. I do 'fake chewing', which is just moving my lower jaw up and down to enjoy the whole volume of my meal. I do this for a while until I get tired and finally decide to gulp down the poor fat rabbit. I stop my fake chewing and close my eyes for a second; 'goodbye little big rabbit' I think before giving a strong final gulp to start my magic trick of bunny disappearing. The rabbit feels like a huge ball of furry meat going down my gullet; the other two weren't moving much anymore, this third rabbit might be able to have some company before becoming protein for my body. Finally, it reached its destination. I've got a big smile on my face now, I feel the bulges in my stomach with my claws and belch in satisfaction. I didn't know how much time had passed since I started eating, I wonder whatever happened to Dan.   Damn, I never thought an improvised quick breakfast could be so satisfactory. As I look around it appears that more animals start coming out of their hiding places and nests. The sun in the sky had come from the mountains and it made its way thru the hundreds of branches and thousands of leaves above to reach me. I am still lying on my back, feeling the food inside me moving. I smile and place one hand over it, 'Shhh', I whisper, 'it's all going to be fine'. I chuckled. The third bunny was still moving a lot. I place my hand over it and palm it in a slow pace. After minutes of struggling the three bulks stop moving and I smile again. How long was it since I last saw Dan? I would go and look for him in the afternoon. Suddenly, a big net appears out of nowhere and traps me under it. 'What?!' I growl while trying to stand up, I look around the place and see a bunch of human hunters. Were they looking for me, even after all these years? "We got it!" one of them yelled. I tried to cut thru the net but it was useless; I had been in such a dreamy eating pleasure... it was like trying to pick up a fight two seconds after a long night's sleep.   There were so many, I couldn't understand what they were saying nor could properly see how many they were. I fight back by growling and trying to take off but I was already being grabbed by a dozen of them. I was caught.

New vore story I wrote about my Wyvern character. This is a 2-part story whose second part I'll be writing soon, but I want to focus on my story series at the moment. Enjoy.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

I'm working on the sequel as soon as I finish the next Tiger/Wolfdog story. Not trying to sound rude, but it's annoying being asked when I'm releasing the sequel. I'm removing this message when Wyvern Fiction is uploaded. Thank you.
