Races of Mynethrol I (m-iyn-eth-ro-ll)
the My'Thana, (my tha-naa)
the My'Thana, or, the crystal weavers, a race of dragons unique to the world of Mynethrol.
appearance,
they are anthromorphic, and are slightly taller than the average human. there muzzles tend to be thin, and alittle angular, not blunted and large like some dragons. The colors of their scales can range from any color in the spectrum, though more...tropical colors, like pinks, bright greens and etcetera, tend to be rarer, the darker shades being more prevalent. Their ears, tend to be actual ears,, long, and lightly pointed at the end, rather than the webbed flaps that some dragons have. Now and again they have horns, but their never overly large, and can't be used for anything other than decoration. As for hair, yes some do have hair, but now and again, they are born without, the hair color sometimes being similar to their scale color, but usually not, unless they are black or white, as for wings, yes, they have these as well, usually having a total wingspan at three or more feet longer then they are tall, though the females tend to have larger ones then the males. and lastly, for eyes, just like their scales, they can be any color in the spectrum, but are usually fairly bright, and brilliant, unless already a dark color like brown or black for example.
Biology,
My'Thana, unlike most dragons, do not have the ability to breath out anything, other than stale air. Female biology, tends to be similar to a generic, female, anthromorphic creature, and they give birth to mostly one egg at a time, but they can give birth to twins. As for traits passed by the parents, certain fetures, such as build, or eye color can be transferred, however, the scale color is almost never the same as either of the parents, there is another trait, always passed by the parents, but that shall be discussed later. Male My'Thana, are slightly larger than the females, with a slightly smaller wingspan, and have internal genital, unless aroused of course. On one last not, it is quite unlikely for a My'Thana to have a child with any other species, other than another My'Thana, or a dragon
Special traits and powers
As mentioned in the last section, there is a trait, that is always passed down by the parents, and this is a power, to materialize, two different kind, of crystals, one unique to each gender, which shall be spoken of soon, but not yet. The most noticeable thing about this trait, is that if a My'Thana, has a child with another dragon, that's not from Mynethrol, the child will still have the unique power with the crystal, no matter how thinned the My'Thana blood gets. As or what the power is, we shall explain now, first with the males. The male My'Thana has the ability to control, and materialize, a white crystal, similar in appearance to, smoky quarts, with a texture of white marble, it, is incredibly light, yet nearly indestructible, but it takes a lot of energy to make lots at once, and has a weakness to magical force. Now, the crystal of the female, My'Thana, is quite different. it has the appearance, of a dark pink crystal, yet completely clear, it, is only as strong, as generic glass however, yet it has a great affinity with magic, being able to absorb and store magical force, the crystal glowing brighter the more it stores, however, if the crystal is broken, while storing energy, it can lash out, with sometimes deadly force. Inventors of Mynethrol, have been able to make constructs, that can use this crystal, as a sort of...battery to power it, and magic users, can program the energy stored inside the crystal to do certain tasks. Lastly, concerning both of the crystals, it is possible for a male and female working together, to meld the two crystals together, giving it the properties of both, however, it is quite dangerous, as the crystal could violently reject each other, causing an explosion. Many My'Thana have lost their lives this way, and such, is usually not attempted in amounts larger than that of say, a shooter marble for example. As for other abilities, they all have an affinity for the magical, and martial arts.
Brief history,
The first My'Thana where inter-dimensional travelers, and first discovered Mynethrol ages ago, and first came next to a singular mountain in the center of a large forest, with a large body of water to the east, but they weren't the first ones there. Before them, there was a tribal race of goblin like beings. (see races of Mynethrol II ) the entire species was centered just south of the mountain the My'Thana appeared next to. After some time, the My'Thana taught the Nidarians there ways of weaving crystal, though how this was done, is lost to time, and eventually, they brought them forth from tribal life, to a thriving civilization, and for a time, the My'Thana were worshiped by the Nidarians, but this was ended quickly, however, the Nidarians always had seen them as allies and friends since then, and later, became the major craftsmen of Mynethrol.
