The Effects of Mantid Clutch Placement On Apiarian Reproduction Patterns
#2 of Entymology Today
This is the sequel to Mating Habits of the College Bound Mantis. Tell me what you think of it (especially the ending; was a bit unsure of that)
This story contains sexual situations and so forth. It should only be read in locations in which it woud be legal for you to read such material and should not be read in locations where it would not be legal for you to read it or for me to provide you with it. I'm not going to throw out a number for a specific age that you should be because the legal age for such materials in your area could be lower than whatever number I say and since there is absolutely no other reason to wait until you are a certain age before viewing pornographic materials except to avoid legal penalties then my warning would be incorrect if I gave too high of a number. Conversely if I gave too lw of a number and you got in trouble you might try to pin it on me. Your relevant laws may vary, but be aware that they may exist. This disclaimer DOES NOT represent an endorsement of the restriction of pornographic material, and should not be interpreted as such. Anyway, on to the story...
In the second installment of our study on insect behavir we find Stephanie the praying mantis knocking a door a few days after the events of installment one. As before a glossary of my pedantc terminology will be provided after the story.
"Hey Heather!" Stephanie banged on the door to the Bee's bedroom in their shared dormitory suite
"What is it Stephanie?"
"I'm heading over to Fecundity Park to lay my eggs, do you wanna come with?"
The voice of Heather's sister Sylvia was heard behind the door, "fecundity park is a big drone hangout. When was the last time you had sex?"
"a couple of weeks ago"
"..."
"I've been busy with midterms!"
"..."
"I was probably going to say yes anyway"
The door opened and Sylvia stepped out, "we would be pleased to accompany you."
Turning to Heather, Sylvia added, "and YOU, had better have some of this" handing her a wax container of royal jelly
"Is there some kind of problem? (between you two)?" asked Stephanie
"No, its just that the entire swarm will be disappointed and ruined if we end up with a lot of nephews and no nieces..."
The swarm... Heather had come to the university with a couple hundred of her sisters in tow. Nearly everybody in the girls' dormitory had a bee for a roommate. Practically the only females without a bee living near them were those gastropods and annelids who had chosen the Boys' dormitory over the Girls'. After college these other bees would accompany Heather to start a new colony and her own family, but in order for the new colony to succeed Heather would need to hatch a new generation of workers and keep churning them out, and that meant mating with drones to collect enough semen while she was still light enough to mate to make sure she would never run out of sper to fertilize her eggs. If she ran out of sperm it would mean angry sisters, angry daughters, and a brood of shiftless layabout sons, not good for anything except for impregating other people's daughters, hatching from the unfertilized eggs. The swarm were determined to see to it that Heather got laid as much as possible, it took a lot of workers to keep a hive running and only a few drones to impregnate the neighbors.
About an hour later Stephanie, Sylvia, and Heather had arrived at Fecundity Park. They set out a picnic blanket with several containers of honey and royal jelly, and the dismembered abdomen of Stephanie's recent boyfriend Mitch
"You know" said Stephanie, as she cracked open Mitch's exoskeleton between the second and third segment of her right arm, "I actually grew up here"
"Really?" asked Sylvia
"Yeah." repled Stephanie, "I hatched somewhere in this area of the park and lived here subsisting on other larvae until I metamorphosed"
After lunch, Stephanie headed off into the woods to lay her eggs, while Heather, after more unneeded prodding from Sylvia set out to find soe mates.
Heather took off into the skies above the park. Sure enough, there were already a number of drones rising to follow her... and there were some of her sisters studiously pointing her out to any drones who hadn't already noticed.
Heather beat her wings faster. It wasn't enough just to be able to fly to mate wirh a gyne, you had to be able to keep up; not that this was difficult for a drone adapted to do just that, but Heather wasn't the kind of girl to just have sex with someone without some kind of courtship first.
In fact, one of the drones was already catcjhing up. He lighted on top of heather, just behind her wings. He wrapped all six arms and legs around Heather's abdomen, steadied himself, and deftly twisted the back tip of his abdomen to touch the back of Heather's.
"Sylvia's right. I really do need to do this more often" thought Heather as she felt the drone's penis slip past her stinger, displacing it upward as it stretched her tight. The drone gave a number of sharp thrusts, not really pulling back after each one, just driving his penis as deeply and as tightly in as it could possibly go, and each eliciting a gasp of pleasure from Heather until he finally popped. actually popped; his genital tract tore away from his body continuing to pump fluids into Heather's fertile body even as their former owner plummeted earthwards, unable to maintain flight due to bloodloss
"Oh yeah!" moaned Heather "Die for the queen!"
Heather was already being approached by another drone by the time the first drone crashed to the ground, in too much of a state of bliss from the combination of afterglow and blood loss to even care that his wings had been shattered by the landing and his guts were spilling out of the hole in his abdomen.
By coincidence, the dying drone landed close to the place where Stephanie was in the midst of depositing a mixture of eggs and quick hardening slime around the body of a large plant
"OK Steffi, just a few more" the mantis said to herself as another spherical egg slipped from her gonopore into the slimy mass, followed By more foamy goo. She made a mental note of the drone that had landed in front of her, Never being one to pass up a free meal.
Up in the sky, the second drone was in the process of dislodging the first drone's genitalia from the back of heather's abdomen, each tug sent a little shiver of pleasure through Heather almost as good as when it had been rammed in, each tug prompting a little moan from Heather, followed by a big moan when it finally popped free, allowing a drop or two of semen to escape before it was replaced by the new drone's penis
"Oh yes!"
Down on the ground, Stephanie reached back and wiped the excess slime her gonopore then walked up to the dying drone that had landed in front of her earlier. She grabbed him by the bloody hole in the back of his abdomen and began dragging him back towards the car. On the way, she passed by Sylvia, who was harvesting nectar with a few of her sisters.
"You don't think Heather will mind if I take her boyfriend home with me."
"I can't imagine why she would; She's clearly done with him"
"That's the thing. She won't take it like I was snooping through her discarded stuff, will she?"
"Of course not!"
"I thought as much," said Stephanie, "but figured I might as well ask though"
Later on, back at the dorm, Stephanie was watching TV with her roommates and snacking on the dead drone from earlier.
"You know," said Stephanie, as she reached into the drone's abdomen to pull out more meat, "I had a lot of fun today" "I did too," replied Heather "I can see that" said Stephanie, glancing at the drone phallus still lodged in Heather's genitals, left there from a mating long after that which provided Stephanie's current snack "speaking of which, are you just gonna leave that in?" "For now, yeah." "Fair enough"
