Season 2 - Chapter 11 - Acheron

"Mom!" Katashi yelled. His brother and sister rushed up hugging him crying. "Don't leave big brother!" his little sister begged. "Yeah you just got back!" his little brother cried. Katashi smiled and hugged them reassuring them he'll be back. To his family he was just going away with his friends to a short trip to the country. Katashi's mother thought it would be a good idea so he could recuperate in a peaceful place. She stepped out giving her son a hug and kissing his cheek.

"Now you promised to call once you arrived safely ok? And you also promised you wouldn't over do it," She smiled. "I know mom, I love you all," He hugged them all and stepped out. They all waved goodbye hoping he'd come back better. As Katashi carried his back pack down the apartment steps he noticed Maia waiting. "What are you doing here?" He asked looking at her.

"I'm coming with you, you need some estrogen with you three boys," She smiled giving him thumbs up. "I don't think that's allowed...wait three," She led him to the street. Looking up he saw Sora and Sayomi leaning against a street lamp. "About time!" Sora pushed his glasses up. "Yeah you've kept us waiting here for a fucking hour," Sayomi smirked. "Hey I had to say goodbye to my parent's and who said you three were going along?" Katashi grunted. The two corporal explained it was orders from Commanders themselves. They were to escort Katashi into and hopefully out of Hell. Katashi sighed knowing if they ordered it he couldn't tell them no. However, he still felt responsible for them having to follow him.

Walking away they all four got on a train.

It pretty quite between them on the unusually empty train car. Once the train stopped they were far out of town. Then they boarded a bus which took them the rest of the way. Sora and Sayomi both seemed pretty relaxed compared to Maia and Katashi. They were a bit on edge due to the obvious. Soon the bus screeched to a stop near a forest far from the city. "So where are we going?" Maia asked. "It's called a Vigil Point, It's a rare point where the Human world and Underworld intersect with one another, we can use these to pass your entire bodies through," Sora lead them into the forest. Sayomi sighed and found his eyes looking up and down Maia. His eyes came to rest on her hips and he blushed looking away suddenly.

Katashi looked back at him and raised an eyebrow. "You ok?" He questioned. "Of course I am! Why wouldn't I be?" He snapped and blushed deeper. Sora held his arm and they all stopped suddenly. He looked up at a sheer cliff face and smiled. "This is it," He moved toward it.

"Um Sora that's a wall," Maia pointed out.

"Yeah" Katashi added.

"What's wrong Sora getting a little rusty when it comes to sensing Vigil Points!" Sayomi mocked.

"At least I can sense them!" He yelled at him. Moving up to the cliff he pulled a piece of blue chalk from his pocket. Muttering a spell to himself he drew a door on the cliff. "There we go," He smiled and reached his hand out against the door. They all looked at him like he was nuts. Suddenly he pushed against it and it opened like a door to an empty street of Halo. "No way," They all stood mouths agape.

He smirked and they all passed through the door. As soon as Sayomi shut it the doorway on the cliff faded leaving no trace of it. Maia and Katashi smiled smelling the sea once again, The cool wind blowing across their faces.

"Well now aren't you two a sight for sore eyes," Neptune smiled at them from a pathway.

"We were wondering when you'd come back," Juan appeared next to his brother.

"We're on our way to Sector 8 commanders," Both Sora and Sayomi bowed.

"Then allow us to escort you," Neptune smiled and led them down the stairs. Maia smiled as the same small wevyrn landed on her shoulder and nuzzled her. "Hi there little guy," She laughed and petted it. It fluttered away and landed on ledge of the hospital. Luna smiled at them happy to see them again. "Commander Luna!" Katashi smiled. "Hello child welcome back," She opened the hospital doors. As they entered they were suddenly grabbed by nurses and men. They were rushed down a hallway till they came to a large room. They were quickly hooked up to a machine. "Um what is this?" Maia gulped as the machine turned on. "Oh nothing," Luna smiled and suddenly they were both shocked. Their souls separated from their still living bodies.

Luna explained that this way they could use their spiritual powers. Sector 8 would look after their bodies while they were gone. Both of them were ready to leave and Sayomi lead them down to sector 10's ring. A long dock stretched out into the water from it with men and women moving large crates from period ships. These were the supplies Halo used to feed everyone. They were transported from the immortal realms via this eternal ocean. "So we gotta be on a boat?" Katashi asked summoning his sword. He did this simply to make sure he could still do it.

Sora led him to the end of the dock to a strange looking ship. The ship resembled the bones of gigantic angler fish. The ship built within its rib cage with no sail or motor. "This is the only ship that goes to hell," Sora jumped down on it. "How does it go?" Katashi asked helping Maia down onto it. "I command it to go," Neptune stood behind them smiling. "So is master Andreas already there?" Sayomi looked at the shark.

He nodded and they all turned to see Ligeron moving down the dock towards them. "Hello Katashi, just came to wish all of you luck, and to give you this," She smiled handing them a book. It was a book on all the information of Hell. "Thank you sir," Katashi bowed and Terra stepped up from the lower decks. The boat rocking with each step as his weight made it sway from one side to another. Terra laughed as they gripped the sides of ship as it tossed from one side to another

"I'm simply going to bring the ship back once you all make landfall," He smiled at them. Maia introduced herself to the bore since this was their first meeting. Terra introduced himself back and gave the girl a bear hug. With a blush she squirmed in his grip trying to get out. "Are you all ready?" Neptune spoke as the few commanders stood to send them off. Nodding the group of four smiled and Neptune raised his hands. "As lord of the waters! I command the sea to carry this ship to the gates of Erebus, Keep them safe along their travel," He ordered and suddenly the ship rocked and began to move quickly.

They all waved goodbye to one another and quickly moved off. Soon Halo was a spot on the horizon as they all got comfortable. Maia looked through the book as Katashi calmed his mind holding his sword. Sayomi laid down on the deck for a nap while Sora stood next to Commander Terra. It took a few hours as they all prepared in their own ways.

"So will we have a guide in Hell?" Sora asked.

"Yeah if we get lost you can't hold that against us," Sayomi yawned.

"Yes he's actually still with Maia," He motioned to her.

She raised and eyebrow and suddenly the wevryn moved out from behind her hair. It chirped on her shoulder and nuzzled her softly. Terra explained that these little creatures were immune to good and bad. They're kind explored across every single realm of the immortals. They once lived in the human world but were hunted to extinction. "So all our trust is in this little thing," Katashi reached to touch it. It suddenly snapped on his finger and Katashi thrashed his arm to get it off. Everyone laughed as it suddenly let go and fly up to the front of the ship. It turned its head staring into the distance.

Suddenly the clouds went dark above and the sea became almost deafly calm. Everybody went quiet as they passed into a deep fog. The water was like a sheet of glass and the grey as the fog around them. The ship groaned softly as they moved. Maia moved closer to Katashi holding his arm a little frightened. After a few minutes in the fog suddenly massive spires of stone appeared out of the fog. Rocks protruding from the water around the ship. "How do we know we're going the right way?" Sayomi gulped as the rocks became walls on each side of them. "because theirs only one way into Hell," Terra's smile faded to a somber expression.

Quickly the exited the fog and they were in a small lagoon. Looking back they could see the immense mountains stretching up around the pass. The mountains stretching out in each direction seemingly forever. The sky was black with clouds and there were no sounds of life. The boat pulled up onto the grey sand the lagoon beach. "Beyond here you will enter the shores of the river Acheron," Terra helped them all down to the beach.

He quickly handed them all golden coins with an "H" printed on both sides. "These will get you into hell," He told them and the ship began to move back. Soon Terra disappeared into the fog once again. The ship vanished completely into the pass and they all moved up over the small sand dunes. The small dragon flying ahead of them.

Katashi gasped as they reached the top of the dunes the sand turning to stone showing they were in the mountains. Moving into a pass they kept close together soon seeing deep claw marks along the walls. Maia stuck close to the boys as Sayomi sweated a little nervous of what waited ahead. Suddenly they came to a cliffs covered by cloud. The tiny dragon stopped and rested on the edge of the cliff. "Can you see any..." Sora was cut short by a loud thud next to them. Each of them gasped and looked over. The cloud moved a little showing a man. His body was nothing more than skin hanging off of bones. A loincloth over his privates and all his external hair gone. He groaned and pushed himself up as a scream let out. Maia let out a soft gasp as the cloud parted.

They stood on a cliff overlooking a never ending river. A port town below resting on the shore looking like a destroyed town. As from the sky thousands of screaming people rained down. Some burned as they plummeted to the ground. Landing with loud bone breaking force in the sea and along the shore. One landing next to them on a spire impaling itself on the stone spike. "Just keep moving...they are the damned, this was their fate from the start," The group moved down the cliff path passing a small enclave. A large hold spilling out people as if they were water. Their screams making Maia hold hear ears in fear.

As they reached the destroyed port they held hands. Moving amongst the screaming groups of people all crowded in the tiny town. Some being trampled as others were pushed off the docks into the water. Katashi suddenly yelled as his hand slipped. The crowd of screaming crying people pushed him away from his friends. Sayomi held out his hand trying to grab onto him. "Katashi!" He yelled and suddenly a loud slash cut through them. Katashi cut his way back to his friends as Sora lead them to a dock.

"If their damned then I don't feel so bad about this," He cut them down as they tried to push their way past him. Their bodies turning to ash as they were cut down. "Hold on!" Sora yelled as they stood on a dock. Holding onto each other tightly they Sayomi noticed large black being pushing the crowd into the town. Screaming some feel from the dock into the water and vanishing beneath the surface. The group was almost pushed off just as everything went silent. The screams soon became soft cries as the demons in the bell tower began to move. Grabbing the hammer they slammed it against the bell.

Letting out a loud ring the bell made the entire city shake. The dragon shook and curled up behind Maia's hair. People cried and tried to run from the docks the demons forcing them back. Again and again the bell rang and the waters became bothered. The water sloshed as a great black image moved in from the thin mist around the river. Suddenly a great arm reached out grabbing a stone pillar pulling a titanic sizes ship from the mist. The entire ship wooden with its captain formed to its top. A crocodile like furry with its massively stretched arm using the rocks to move the boat towards the docks. The giant mans lower body fused to the ship itself.

The group shook seeing the horrid ship moving closer creaking and groaning as the beast began to speak. "Through me you entire the city of woes, through me you enter eternal pain, Before me not Eternal, Eternal I remain," It roared as it pulled next to the docks. Stopping the doors on its sides opened and large demons stepped out. Their big muscular black bodies ushering the souls inside. "Abandon hope all ye who enter here," The beast above roared. Suddenly its massive clawed hand reached down grabbing the group. Lifting them up to his face it roared. "You who are not damned, take you place from the lines," He held them over the water about to drop them.
