Osuka's Journal Entries: Tsuitowan - Chapter: Two souls meeting
Osuka's Journal
I've been venturing for quite some time... I've grown tired and now, I was looking for a village to rest... The village I seeked was the Guru Village... It was a village located very near Death mountain's roots. The main reason why I would draw myself to such a place was because of many rumors about the people that lived there... When I arrived, I saw to my surprise, that all the villagers were Windragons. Actual Windragons. I saw to meet the village chief. He was a strong man with the name of Darun. He exclaimed his delight of my arrival as they didn't get tourists so often. I told him that I merely seeked for an inn so that I could stay for a while. Darun's face fell a bit. When I asked why, he began to talk about a creature they called "The Twisted One"... I thought that it was all rather overdone to frighten tourists... Of what I can remember, this is what he told me: "His eyes glow red like new spilled blood, and his body is scarred from the adventurer's attempt to free themselves when he has punced upon them to slay them. He lives in a basement nearby and on nights, you can see him sneaking around. If you're staying here, my boy... You have to stay at my house for if the beast were to sneak out, I will protect you." I asked him to elaborate. I was fascinated by this "Twisted One"... I asked if I could witness the creature. Darun's eyes opened wide in shock. "My boy!" he exclaimed. "You must not dwell into the dangerous lair of the Twisted One!" I told him that, even though I could get hurt, I was not scared of the beast and if I needed to, I could rid them of the creature. Darun thought for a moment and suddenly, seemed to shine with delight. He shook my hand and said that it was very brave of me and that he would lead my to the creature. As we exited Darun's house, I saw that villagers had gathered around the house... They must have heard what we had discussed cause many of them stared at me nearly admiringly. Some people made the sign of the cross... I thought that this was a bit nerve-wracking but followed Darun all the same... He took me to a pretty old house that looked completely deserted... He led me to a trapdoor that led to the basement and patted me on the back. "Good luck, my boy!" He said encouragingly and opened the door. Slowly and carefully, I descended the stairs as I heard the trapdoor slowly close behind me, leaving but a little ray of sunlight... I found myself in a room surrounded in darkness as there were no lights, windows or other sources of light... It was a very unpleasent scene to behold... Blood splattered the walls... What kind of monster was it that resided in this room? As I took three steps into the room and looked around, trying to peer into the darkness, I heard ruzzling... Then, I saw it... Two pair of eyes, glowing blood red... I was paralyzed for a moment... But, taking deep breathes, crouched down to look into the eyes at the same eye level. "You are the Twisted One, correct?" I asked. The eyes blinked. "My name is Osuka" I went on. "And I have been requested to... To take care of you..." I thought that "To kill you" would be completely the wrong thing to say... The eyes blinked again and I listened as it approached me. The ray of sunlight fell across it's face. I let out a little gasp... It was a dragon's face... But... The face was covered in blood! As the sunlight hit it's face, it fled into the shadows again I made to move towards it, a hand outstretched. "Wait. Do not cower before me. I'm not here to harm you... Come out of the shadows... Let me see you..." The eyes blinked once more. Slowly and carefully, it moved towards me again, revealing it's face in the ray of sunlight again...
