We made it to the Ship, now what?

Chapter 3

Strange New World

Space, the final frontier.... Never really been big on Classic Science fiction, but then again, looking at the state of the world, I have been living it. The shuttle finally came as the Marshal filled me in on certain facts for the 34 minute trek to the Opal Star from the Space Port. Cerces IV has a 32 hour day, which gave us 8 more hours a day then Earth. It also has a 375 day year spread over 12 conventional months. Months are a concept by humans more than Proto-humans, as well as days of the week. Seemed we had to introduce the Julian calendar to them. But years are drastically different considering each year on Cerces IV is the equivalent of 500 days. Seeing since humans colonized Cerces IV on July 4th 2712, they consider that to be the 1st day of that year, thus the year on Cerces IV is 150, considering they don't count the 435 years before that. Nor did the Proto-Humans, who just don't give a fuck. So year 150 AH it is called, guessing AH is After-Humans. The Gravity is a little less than earth, the air cleaner with 66% Nitrogen atmosphere meaning it will be much bluer. 79% of the planet is water, although Durango is in the middle continent with one major port and a small outlet to the Equipage Ocean. Other than that it has 2 moons, and one of which is habitable, go figure.

With these facts, you figure I should be ready for what was about to come. Seeing that in all my years, I never saw a real live Proto-Human. I've seen them on the Entertainment stream, hundreds of time on the Galactic web, and my first time in one of my pa's porn mags. Yeah, we still have magazines, but they cost around $18 a copy. None the less, we approached the Opal star and I was all a twitter about seeing a Proto-Human. The marshal told me to put everything in the back of your mind, seeing some humans act indifferently to the appearance of a Proto-Human was common. Our ability to be judgmental outweighs understanding is the only reason I reckon. I figured I can handle anything, hell I stared down Scorpions and rattlers before, what the fuck I should be frightened of?

As the shuttle docked, the Marshal made certain we be the last to disembark. His reasoning was to show me why us Homers were so weak. There were 47 passengers including us on the shuttle, some going to Cerces with dreams such as mine, and others just sightseeing or visiting kin. It wasn't even a minute before a dozen or so came back with a look on their face of sheer terror. I was somewhat intrigued by this as what could horrify them so much. The Marshal simply stated, "This is the real test Glenn, can you walk off this shuttle and not come running back. Because even if you do, you are coming with me to Cerces IV. Otherwise I'll shoot you with a stunner, and drag you on the ship with me."

The sad fact is he was correct; there was no turning back for me. I'm not sure of the others reason to come so far, just to go back, but I knew this I was sick and tired of eating Soylent for dinner. That thought alone was enough for my stomach to lead the way along the gangway to the Opal Star. That was my last look at Humans from Earth. Oh I will see humans again, they will be far and fewer from Earth, that for certain.

As I stepped into the Airlock, I was greeted by a woman. The first thing I saw was her snake skinned boots that went up her shapely long slender legs. Thing is, where the boots stopped, the snake skin didn't. My eyes then looked upon her leather skirt, which shifted as her long diamond back tail swayed from side to side. Her dress was a mixture of leather and silk ribbons that gave her the appearance as one of those Japanese school uniforms, although I think that was intentional to show off her assets, and draw less attention to her scaly reptilian skin features cover her sweet bosom. Her hair was jet black and she wore a rancher's hat and a gorgeous smile. She had absolutely hypnotizing gold colored eyes that seemed to draw you in. Shit, she could of bit me, and I wouldn't have of known anything but simply she was a serpent with the features of an angel. The Marshal was impressed that I didn't get chicken and run off. Truth is, I was a little terrified, but I was attracted to her the moment I saw her.

"Hello there, Marshal." she said and gave him a sweet peck on the check. "How was your stay on Earth?"

"It stunk, can't wait to get back home to my livestock. What happened to the Princess Rose?"

"Its' impeller went on the last trip, it's in dry dock." she replied.

"Shit, I have the worse luck on the Opal Star playing poker. Oh well, guess I need to change that trend. Oh Dru...let me introduce you to my new Deputy, Glenn Stewart."

She looked to me as her eyes it up. Not sure she was happy to see me or ready to strike her venomous bite into my tender skin. "Hello, Glenn, Welcome to the Opal Star. I am your entertainment host, Druzilla Vance."

I was stunned by everything she did. So energizing and perky. She seemed just like a regular girl from College but also so seductive she was making me dizzy. "Hell...o...and thank you kindly, Miss Vance." I said uneasily, not sure what to do. I shook her hand, and her touch was that of a warm blood snake. Soon another Proto-Human can from some sliding doors with a levitating tram. He was big and looked like a bull, complete with horns and a nose ring.

"This is Rudy, he'll take your bags up to your suite." she said with the sweetest voice. I simply placed the bags on the tram. He seemed a bit cocky as he stood there, but I recognized that as the gratuitous nature to any bell hop. I reached in my pocket. All I had was chump change, about $17. The Marshal stepped in and slipped him a crisp $50, which he nodded and reversed back to the siding doors. I figure it was some kind of elevator. "Now you two are my personal guest so I want you both to enjoy all the amenities we have on the ship."

The Marshal then seemed more comfortable as he nudged me on my arm, and winked with a smile. "Dru, maybe you can come by the cabin after we are on our way and take Glenn here shopping. He's gonna need some duds before we get to Durango, figuring you got an eye for well dress man."

Her eyes lit up hearing this. "Why sure, Marshal Simms, I would be happy to take Glenn down to the ships stores. If you two will follow me I'll take you to your suite."

With that, we headed down a corridor opposite of where Rudy went. Guess it's a service elevator, I reckon. The walk gave time to fill me in on what the ship has, which to me was surprising. A shopping mall that took up 3 decks. Swimming pools, saunas, 3 different casinos on board as well as the bar, and the titty bar as well. According to her, there is a bar for all fetishes on this ship. The ship held roughly 1200 passengers, seeing Earth was the last stop before the journey to Cerces IV. We would be taking the Cerces Worm hole, the closest and probably most stable worm hole known to man. It would take us 17 days to get there, which in Cerces time is 12 and three quarters of a day. In this time I would have to shed my Earth ways and learn how to acclimate to Cerces IV society. According to Marshal, it won't be too difficult to do on the ship. He was impressed how I took to Druzilla. Perhaps I'm just plain horny; hell, I haven't been with a woman in 9 months, and then again looking at the mess I possibly could be in, maybe that was a good thing. Yet for some reason, I couldn't keep my eyes off her rear. Between her ass and her tail, I was mesmerized at the seductive gait she had, each sexy curve on her body. Hell, maybe it has been too long, and I never asked can humans and Proto-Humans mate. At this point, I am willing to find out for myself.
