Story by Wolf Trooper on SoFurry

Okay everyone I've been thinking of doing this for a while now. This is a furry (somewhat) version of the popular video game Resident Evil 2. This version follows the Claire A Leon B scenario which is the canon version. Little note, I did make some minor changes and I switched Leon's gun from a VP-70 to a Glock 22 but I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't mind. Enjoy!

RESIDENT EVIL.. TWO!!!!

Dammit I'm running late! Leon thought to himself. He was a young man only 21 years old. While he wasn't built like a football jock, he was still strong in his own right and was in very fit shape. He wore a black and blue police uniform with the words: RPD written on the front and the back of the uniform. He was driving on the quiet freeway in his jeep excited actually. He was on his way to his first day of work as a police officer for the Raccoon City police department. Leon had come from a long line of police officers and he signed up for the police academy straight out of high school. He did so well that shortly after graduation, he received a letter from the RPD offering him a position in their ranks! They even sent him his uniform and his gun,a Glock 22 .40 S&W semi-automatic pistol which was holstered safely on the right side of his utility belt. He had left two days earlier to make it in time but unfortunately his jeep broke down and he had to stop and fix it. But this caused him to be late. He was in such a rush, he had to change into his uniform in the motel's bathroom. And what was worse, the sun had already set and it was night time already.

"Ah I hope I won't lose my badge for this." he said to himself. Funny thing was though, when his jeep broke down and he had no choice but to stay at a motel, he had tried multiple times to contact his boss to inform him of his predicament but the lines to Raccoon City were down. To be honest though, Raccoon City was going through some bizarre events this past year. From what info Leon could gather, about a couple months ago, Raccoon City was being terrorized by a series of bizarre and very grisly murders in the suburbs and surrounding forest. The city responded by sending in their S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics And Rescue Service) team into the surrounding forest to investigate. However, when they came back from the mission, almost all of the team had been wiped out. There were only four survivors from S.T.A.R.S Alpha team and only one survivor from S.T.A.R.S Bravo team! What was also strange was that shortly after they got back to the RPD station, they reported that they were attacked by strange looking creatures and were forced to seek shelter in a mansion in the outskirts of the city where they encountered even more horrid monsters. But due to lack of evidence, the case was dismissed and the surviving S.T.A.R.S team survivors were dubbed mentally unfit to serve in the police and where hence put on leave. But it didn't end there, shortly afterwards there were reports of riots and attacks on innocent people in the city by strange individuals. But that was one of the reasons why Leon was in a hurry, the police needed all the help they could get.

"Ah there it is!" he exclaimed as he saw the sign:

Raccoon City next exit right.

He drove his jeep off the highway and took the exit heading to Raccoon City and his first day on the job. Maybe he could get more info on the situation once he got there. He put the pedal to the metal and sped right to the city.

When Leon had arrived in the city, he was shocked at how quiet it was. Too quiet. Granted Raccoon City was supposed to be a quiet town but it wasn't exactly a rural town in the middle of nowhere either. Granted it was also nighttime too, but still that didn't explain why there was no one around. The city was full of office building, small restaurants, small shops, and diners, but nobody was around. Even the bars were empty! On the streets there were cars which appeared to be abandoned many with broken windows and smashed windshields. Some had crashed into buildings, street signs, and even other cars. Not only that, the city looked in very rough shape. There was a ton of graffiti on the walls of the building, newspapers, wooden planks, broken glass, broken street signs, and other forms of litter were on the streets. Many of the building's doors and windows were also broken and appeared to have been smashed opened. And while Leon couldn't be sure, he thought he saw a lot of spent bullet cartridges and blood stains on the ground. The place looked like a warzone.

"Damn!" Leon wondered to himself as he looked out his jeep's windows. "What the hell happened here? Where is everybody?"

As he was driving slowly on the street he saw something up ahead lying down on the streets. At first it thought it was maybe a dead animal like a dog, but as he got closer, it looked like the corpse of a person! He stopped his jeep and set it to park. He made sure his pistol was with him and he kept his headlights on the body. He opened his car door and stepped out.

"What've we got here?" he asked himself and he closed the door. He was overcome with this very bizarre feeling that he was being watched. He ignored the feeling though and proceeded to examine the corpse.

Meanwhile a few blocks down, a large eighteen wheel semi truck carrying fuel was parked outside a gas station. All of the sudden, a man was tossed out through the door's window shattering the glass. The man struck the pavement but surprisingly got up and just limped away as if nothing. Inside the truck was the driver. He was slightly overweight and in his mid forties. He had a large wound on his arm which was bleeding badly.

"That guy's a maniac!" he struggled to shout. "Why'd he bite me!"

Leon got a closer look at the corpse. It wasn't a pretty sight. The corpse was a young anthro female tabby cat. She looked no older than eighteen. She wore a pink tank top and blue jeans which had been torn apart and stained with blood. Her entire body from her face to her tail, was covered in claw and bite marks which appeared to have been very recent and had ruined the image of whatever beauty she had once had. She appeared to have bled to death.

"Man what a mess!" Leon practically exclaimed. "What could've of done this?"

Just then, Leon heard the sound of several footsteps behind him. "What was that?" he asked as he turned around to see where the noise was coming from. He was shocked at what he saw!

Behind him were over a dozen of what appeared to be civilians of humans and anthros but something was very wrong with them. Their clothing appeared ripped apart and tattered stained with blood. They were staggering and limping in a very inhuman like way. Their skin appeared to be rotted and clammy while their eyes gave were a milky yellowish color as a large slob of drool leaked from their gaping mouths as they gave a stare emotionless but full of hunger! The anthros looked even worse with patches of their fur discolored and falling out almost as if they had mange. They approached Leon, their arms gasping out almost in a predatory manner as they moaned the most eeriest growl Leon had ever heard. Just then, he heard more moans coming from his left and right. Sure enough, more of the... monsters were coming from the alleys and abandoned buildings. All looking rotten and clammy.

"What are these things!" Leon shouted to himself with shock. They looked almost like, dare he say it, zombies! He pulled out his Glock 22.

"Alright! That's far enough! Don't move!" he shouted as he pointed the gun at his incoming attackers. But they didn't respond! The beings continued to approach him with a lust for hunger in their eyes!

"Don't move!" Leon ordered again. But it looked like a losing fight. It was only one of him and about a dozen of them and more were coming. As Leon backed away steadily, he felt something grab his leg. He looked down and was awestruck at what he saw.

"No!" he gasped when he saw what was grabbing him. It was the female anthro cat! The corpse had suddenly sprung to life and now she was grabbing Leon's leg trying to pull him down! Without hesitating, Leon aimed his Glock and shot the living corpse. The bullet struck the cat causing it to fall dead and release its grasp.

I've had enough of this! Leon thought to himself and he raised his Glock at his incoming attackers. One of the attackers lunged at Leon but Leon had quick reflexes and quickly responded by shooting the incoming attacker double tapping and aiming for the chest like he had been trained to do. The being fell back as the bullets struck him but something bizarre happened. When the attacker had recovered from the force of the bullets striking him, he got back up and continued his advance.

"What's up with that guy that was a clean hit!" Leon exclaimed as he fired more bullets at the attackers. There was no way that guy should've survived. Leon's bullets had struck the guy's heart and one of his lungs! It should've been an instant kill.

Leon continued to back away firing more bullets at the beings, but just like before, they had little effect.

Oh my god! Leon thought. This confirmed it! These people were zombies!

Leon backed away into an alleyway as he then checked his Glock.

"I'm running out of ammo here!" he said to himself. He had used more than half of his gun's bullets and he had only two spare clips. Fortunately he had gained some good distance from the zombies, but still what was he to do?

Unexpectedly, a door to Leon's right side slammed open. Leon instantly turned aiming his gun and was met face to face with a frightened border collie. A zombie was right behind her.

"Wait don't shoot!" she pleaded as she lifted her paws in the air.

"Get down!" Leon ordered as he aimed his pistol. The border collie ducked and Leon shot the attacking zombie in the head literally blasting the back of the creature's skull. The zombie fell back and fortunately stayed dead. He holstered his gun and then glanced at the anthro border collie. She was very young, about nineteen years old with tannish fur and brown hair. She was wearing what appeared to be a pink lady's biker jacket and matching shorts and what looked like hiking boots. A large knife was strapped to her left shoulder which Leon believed was probably for self defense.

"We can't stay out here." Leon told the frightened fur as he held out his hand to help her. "Head to the police station it will be a lot safer."

The collie nodded her head and got up. Just in time too as the zombies Leon had previously been fighting were fast approaching. The two quickly ran in the other direction and existed the alleyway but it wasn't any better on the other side as many zombies were now on the street. Leon quickly scanned the area looking for anything that could possibly help them.

"There!" he shouted as he pointed at a police cruiser which appeared to have been abandoned by its owner. They sprinted towards and got in. The border collie took the passenger seat while Leon took the driver's seat. Fortunately, the keys were still in the ignition.

"Buckle up." he said.

"Okay," the border collie said as she fastened her seat belt. With that, he quickly started the police car and quickly sped off narrowly avoiding the incoming zombie horde.

As they drove off, the streets starting to become more active. All the commotion had caused more zombies to appear, the entire place was crowded with them. The city now looked like a scene from a George Romero movie.

"What's going on?" the border collie exclaimed as she looked out the car's window. "I arrived in town and the whole place went insane!"

While driving, Leon was fiddling with the radio trying to get a signal in hopes that maybe he could get in contact with someone who was still alive. But it was no use. The radio only emitted static sounds.

"Great the radio's out!" he shouted. The border collie then got a good look at her rescuer. He was a young human in his early twenties. He had light, bright brown hair and was wearing a police officer's uniform.

"You're a cop right?" she asked cautiously. Maybe he knew what was going on.

"Yeah, first day on the job." Leon answered laughing at the irony. "Great huh? Name's Leon Kennedy nice to meet you."

The border collie nodded back.

"Mine's Claire, Claire Redfield," she explained. "I came to find my brother Chris."

As they sped down the street towards the direction of the police station, they failed to notice that a very large semi truck was following them in a very reckless manner. Whoever was driving it was swerving out of lanes and crashing into street signs and abandoned vehicles.

Leon kept driving his eyes focused on the road.

"Hey could you look in the glove compartment?" he asked Claire.

"Sure." she answered. She opened the glove box revealing a Browning Hi-Power 9mm pistol.

"There's a gun inside." she pointed out.

"You'd better take it with you." Leon insisted. She would most likely need a gun too seeing the situation.

Claire took the pistol and carefully examined it. Her older brother Chris, serving in the Air Force and later RPD's S.T.A.R.S team, taught her a thing or two about guns.

Suddenly and unexpectedly, a zombified fox popped from behind in the backseat surprising both of them! The adrenaline rush caused Leon to lose control of the car and the police cruiser swerved far to the left grinding against building walls.

"No!" Leon shouted as he tried to fight off and regain control of the car. Leon tried to reach for his gun but the zombie grabbed onto his right arm. But thankfully Leon managed to punch the zombie and free his arm before it bit him. He then quickly grabbed the steering wheel but it was too late! Up ahead was a three way crossing and they were headed straight for a sign post pole. Before they knew what hit them, the police cruiser crashed straight into a pull. The force of the impact was so great the zombie fox was flung from the backseat crashing through the windshield and into the pole breaking its neck where it thankfully stayed dead. Leon checked himself. Thankfully he was uninjured. He then looked at Claire.

"You okay?" he asked.

Claire nodded her head. She too was also uninjured.

"Still in one piece." she said with an assuring smile.

But before the two could settle down, Leon noticed something in the rear view mirror.

"Huh!" he gasped at the sight. Heading straight for them was an out of control semi truck! The driver had become a zombie.

"That maniac's gonna ram us!" he shouted to Claire. The two immediately unfastened their seatbelts. But the truck was picking up speed and showed no signs of stopping!

"RUN!" Leon shouted as he opened his door and sprinted out. Then as quickly as it came, the truck collided with the police cruiser and the brick wall. Leon thankfully jumped out of the way. But the collision had caused the truck's cargo of gasoline to leak and in a fiery explosion, the entire tuck was set on fire light up the street block. Fortunately Leon wasn't caught in the explosion. He got to his feet coughing as he inhaled the smoke from the fire. But unfortunately, the fire was blocking his path.

"Leon!" he heard Claire shout from the other side.

Yes she's okay! Leon thought to himself.

"Claire!" he shouted back coughing from the smoke. "Head to the police station I'll meet you there!"

"Ok!" he heard her shout back.

Leon slowly backed away from the fire. He was now on his own now! But it didn't matter. He had to survive this!
