Part 1

Today had started out normal enough. I fed the cat, fed myself, went off to work, was bored half to death, and then I came home. When I came home I found Alexander sitting on the kitchen counter. My cat knew very well that he was not supposed to be there, but he also knew that I never really did anything about him being on the counter. "Come on Alexander, you know you aren't supposed to be up there," I said to him. He meowed in response and waited for me to come pick him up. That was his objective. That little black cat loved being the center of my attention.

I could not really blame him for staying on the countertop though. A pair of rats had managed to move into the house. They were not the small and somewhat cute variety either. The two rats that I had seen were huge tough looking brutes that probably stood a good chance of killing my cat in a fight. I was starting to get worried about leaving Alexander home alone with those monsters. It was something that I had to do, though, since the exterminator could not make it here for another couple of days and they seemed to be able to avoid any trap that I set up. I also had a party that I was throwing tonight that I was more than a little worried about. My friends and I were hosting a pretty large party at my place and I hoped that none of the guests would notice my other unwanted guests. Hopefully all of the noise would scare the rats into staying in hiding.

I pushed thoughts of rats aside as I finished up preparations for the party. It was a boring task, but when my friends finally showed up to help things went by quickly. Before I knew it the rest of the guests were showing up for the party. I could not let myself get that drunk since I was supposed to be the one making sure that the party did not get too out of hand. The last thing I needed was a destroyed house and neighbors calling police because of the noise. As it turns out I did not have much to worry about from the police. About an hour into the party, well before anyone had a chance to get really drunk, some weirdness started up. It was hard to notice at first, but there was a strange noise that I could hear faintly whenever the music playing at the party would die down slightly.

There was little chance I would be able to locate the source of the noise, but I did try. Other people trying to distract me by getting me involved in the party did slow me down. At least it was a pleasant distraction. When I managed to extract myself from the other activities going on around me I was able to eventually locate the source of the noise. I was annoyed to find that the noise was coming from a little hole in the wall that the rats must have made. They must have managed to gnaw into something that would cost me a fortune to fix. I went off to get a flashlight so that I would be able to get a better look into the whole, but before I could get two steps away from the hole I started to feel woozy. Others around me also looked like they were not that steady on their feet. Before I had much time to think about what was happening my vision went dark and the last thing I remembered was collapsing to the floor before passing out.

When I came to my vision was blurry and I heard other people moaning. I managed to slowly get to my feet and look around. For some reason there was a lot more space between everyone than there had been before I passed out. I did not figure out why that was until my vision came completely back into focus. What I saw around me was impossible. I did not think it could be real. My house looked huge, it was like it had grown or everyone had shrunk. It was hard to tell which since not everything within the house had grown or shrunk. All of the partygoers looked like they were no more than two inches tall compared to the house itself and most of the furniture. A few things like pictures looked like they were the right size compared to us, but little else. People were spread out all over the floor and I thought I saw a person or two up on the furniture too, but it was hard to tell from my angle. I hoped a giant Alexander wasn't around with all of these snacked sized people around.

As everyone was wandering around, wondering what had happened, I heard something. It was a sort of thudding and clacking sound, like giant paws walking on a wooden floor. For a second I thought that there really was a giant Alexander around, but what I saw were two completely different creatures. Coming down the stairs from the second floor of the house were two enormous rat like creatures. They looked like they were the size that I should have been compared to the furniture and they were also walking on two legs as if they had been doing it their entire lives. One of them was grey furred and the other was brown furred. I found it strange that their fur color matched the color of the rats that had invaded my home. That was not the only thing strange either. It was not that they looked like rats that were walking upright, their entire bodies looked a bit more human like. I wondered if somebody had managed to drug me without me realizing it.

The two rats paused at the last step and looked down at the people still trying to recover on the floor beneath them. What happened next nearly made me puke. The grey rat took a step down and right onto woman that was still on her knees. The rat slowly pressed down and forced the woman flat against the ground. A moment of silence filled the room until I heard the woman scream and bones starting to crack. Then there was a wet popping sound as the rats paw crushed the woman flat. The two rats looked at each other and they actually snickered. I did not care if I had been drugged at that point. It seemed like it was a better idea to get away from the rats than to assume that they were figments of my imagination.

I ran, as did everyone else around me that was in a condition to run. All of us were looking for any place to hide that we could. Even though I was pretty close to a couch that I could have dived under, I did not think it was a good idea to do so. The rats did not look like they were weaklings and I assumed that either one of them could easily move a couch. There were so many people diving for cover under furniture that they would be fairly easy for the rats to find is they did start looking for us.

I tried to remember where the rat hole had been. Now that they were so large they should not have been able to fit inside of it and it would make a nice hiding place for people now. That hole was not going to be easy to get to though. The rats were taking care of the people out in the open before going after the ones in hiding. And by taking care of I meant that the grey rat was slowly crushing people under paw while the brown one delighted in crushing people with seismic stomps that reduced people to little red puddles.

Even though getting caught under a paw and having the life slowly crushed out of me seemed like a more horrible fate than getting instantly killed by being stomped on by the brown rat, I still feared the brown rat more. He was just going through people so fast that he was killing five people for every one that the grey rat killed. The brown rat was just walking around the room at random and stomping on anyone that was unfortunate enough to be in his path while the grey rat just concentrated on getting to anyone that was about to get to a good hiding place.

It was all very hectic. With the grey rat cutting off escape attempts and the brown rat mowing through our numbers, no one knew what to do. People had started running in any random direction while I kept heading toward the rat hole. There were a few other people that were following me. I assumed that they were doing so because I looked like I knew where I was going and they were willing to follow anyone that knew what they were doing at the moment. Unfortunately, the brown rat started stomping in our direction.

I put even more effort into running than I thought I could as I tried to flee from the rat. It did not look like it was doing me any good. Each time the rat took a step I could feel the thudding of its paws getting closer. I was in a blind panic, focused purely on survival, and I did not snap out of that until a heard a series of sickening crunches. The rat had caught up to my group and each step left the bloody wreckage of a human body behind it. Blood and other parts of the human body that I could not identify squirted through the air. I tried not to pay attention to anything that hit me.

Then it was over, just like that. I watched as the rat walked right over me, not even paying attention as to whether or not he had crushed me. There was only one other survivor from the group that had been running with me and we looked at each with the grateful expressions of people just happy to be alive. That expression stayed frozen on his face as I watched the tail of the rat come swinging down on him, crushing him like a bug. Then the rat's tail dragged along the ground, leaving a bloody streak across the floor. I looked up to see the rat glancing back at me, chuckling a little at what he had just done. After that the rat paid me no mind and moved on to other people.

The grey rat was on the other side of the room and with the brown rat tormenting other people I had a free run to the mouse hole. I thought that my luck might actually be changing, but I met with nothing but disappointment. The rat hole was still there, but it was just the size that I remembered it being. It was not even large enough for me to fit my foot through, needless to say the rest of my body. Apparently there had been at least one other person that had seen the rat hole, because I found myself looking disappointed with another guy from the party.

There was even more to be disappointed about in a few seconds. The grey rat had managed to make his way across the room without either of us noticing. His massive furry form towered over us as he lifted his paw above us. Long slender toes towered above us and we both tried to run as the rodent's wrinkly soles descended onto us. It was only a last ditch dive on my part that kept me from being trapped under the rat's paw. The other guy had not been so lucky though. As I turned back to look for him I saw that he was trapped under one of the rat's toes. The guy was lying on his back with his midsection completely covered under the rodent's large digit. He was screaming for help and I wanted to run away, but I just had to go back and do something, even if it meant my own death.

I ran back to the man and I tried to pull him out from under the rat's massive weight. Even though I was using all of my strength I could not move the guy an inch. It did not help that the rat was slowly applying pressure to the man. I fully expected the rat to just move his paw a bit in order to trap me as well. The rat did not do that though. He seemed content enough with crushing the man while I tried to save him. I heard ribs starting to break and his screams started to become a gurgled whimper. Blood was leaking out the side of his mouth and his nose. I knew he did not have much time left, but I couldn't just leave him alone to die like that. Soon, the rat's toe was flat against the surface and I do not even want to think about what happened to the man. All the things within the man that had occupied the space where the rat's toe was had to come out somewhere, and they normally came out the easiest exit that they could.

I was in shock from witnessing what I had just seen. My hands were still clutched tightly around some guy's now lifeless eyes. Then there was the fact that the guy's murder was still standing right above me. There was no way I could avoid the same fate as him unless the rat let me live, and much to my surprise that was exactly what he did. Instead of crushing me, he picked me up in his rough clawed hands and then just dropped me on a table in front of the couch I had decided not to dive for cover under earlier.

I was the first one on that table and others would come to join me later. The rats were gathering a few people on the table for some strange reason. Just about everyone else wound up crushed under one of the rats' paws. Even the people that hid under the furniture were eventually hunted down and their lives were brought to an end. When they were through there were only a couple dozen people left from the party on the table. That was really saying something considering that it had been a fairly large party and that there had been over a hundred people attending it.

The rats sat down on the couch in front of the party and then propped their paws up on the table. We all received a rather gruesome view of the rats' bloodstained paws. One of them had a person impaled on the end of one of its toe claws, the other had a person's mangled remains stuck between his toes, and they both had bits and pieces of human remains stuck to the soles of their paws and in between their toes. Then the rats started chittering at us in what I recognized must be their own language. I had no idea what they were saying until they started pointing at us and then back at their own paws. They were going to actually make us clean up the mess that they had made.

At that point everyone was just happy to be alive. If cleaning off the paw of a giant rat was all they had to do to survive then they were willing to do it, as was I. It was a sickening job, but the rats were at least kind enough to provide us with a few napkins that had been on the table to help complete the job. Occasionally someone would come across something that they could no longer stomach and vomit. The way the rats snickered at that infuriated me, but it was not like there was anything I could do about it. The rats had all the power now and we were nothing more than disposable little slaves.

After we had managed to clean the soles of their paws it was time to get on with the really hard part. We still had to clean in between their toes and someone had to climb up and get that body off the brown rat's claw. The amount of human goo that had managed to force its way in between the rats' toes was absolutely hideous. Coming across the occasional body part was no fun either. It was me and another woman that volunteered to dislodge the body from the rat's claw while another couple had to pull the body out from between the other rat's toes. The rats decided to have some fun with us while we worked. The rat I was working on wiggled his toes to make things difficult for us, but that was not nearly as bad as what happened with the other couple. We managed to get our body down just fine, but the other rat was clinching his toes tightly together so that the body would not come out very easily. The rats each cracked open a can of beer that had been in the cooler next to the couch and started drinking while they watched the show. Then, the body that the people were tugging on split in half after one strong pull. They both let out shrill screams and the rats must have thought that was hilarious as they spit out the beer that they were drinking and started laughing. To add insult to injury, the rats spit out there beer on all of us. While they were laughing a couple of other people helped remove the rest of the body and clean out in between the rat's toes.

When we were all finished the rats pointed at six people and had three step into each rodents' hand. I noticed that the ones the rats pointed out all happened to be the ones that had done the least cleaning. It was hard to blame them for that since all six of them had been the ones to vomit the most during that grizzly task. Apparently, the rats did blame them for that though. They started dropping the people one by one into their mouths and swallowing them whole. There was nowhere for those people to escape to, the rats had them all firmly in their grasps. Before long, every last one of them rested in the bellies of the rats.

Then the rats looked back at the rest of us. They started chittering again and making motions with their hands. Now it looked like they wanted us to actually massage their paws. Everyone now knew what would happen. We were in competition with each other. The ones that performed the weakest were the ones that would be eaten alive. We all rushed to give each rat the best message that we possibly could.

I eventually settled with the left foot of the brown rat. Even though we were all pretty small only but so many of us could work on one paw at the same time. Each of us rubbed the thick leathery soles as best we could. We tried to gauge the expressions on the faces of the rats as best we could and I was not happy with what I saw. The rat looked more bored than relaxed. I urged everyone around me to put more effort into our work. We were not dealing with the relatively thin soles of a human, but the thick skinned paws of something that would require considerably more effort. In order to get any reaction at all from the rat we had to press hard, but we did get a reaction and I could see that the rat did look content. It was exhausting work, but I thought that I did good enough to survive.

It turns out that I was right. Another six unfortunate souls were chosen to be rat food. None of them were stupid enough to walk right into the rats' hands this time though. Each of them tried to run for it, but we were all stuck on a table that was high enough up for the fall to be fatal. A few of them tried to jump anyways, but the rats just caught them and then dropped them right into their greedy maws. That took all of ten seconds and the rats then moved on to their next task.

The grey rat stood up and walked over to the pizza boxes. He sniffed the contents of the boxes before grabbing a few slices and walking off to the kitchen. The only thing the brown rat did was sit there and watch over us while I heard the microwave come on. I had no idea that rats knew how to use a microwave, but that did not seem all that important while I had a rat that looked like it was a few hundred feet tall just sitting there staring at me. When the other rat returned he came with a few slices of steaming hot pizza. I thought that was a good thing that the rats were going to satisfy their hunger with the pizza rather than us.

The rats proved me wrong. When the grey rat sat the pizzas down they both started scooping us up and dropping us on the hot slices of pizza, slightly burning us. As we tried to escape they pressed us down into the gooey cheese, entangling us in the substance. Then they started eating. I finally realized what we had been competing for as I watched one person disappear into the brown rat's mouth before hearing the crunching of his bones as the rat chewed up his meal. What we had been competing for was a swift death from being chewed to death rather than a slow death caused by being digested alive.

I was toward the back of a slice of pizza and it was the last that the rats would pick up too. One by one I was able to watch as the last of the people that had attended my party were chewed up and swallowed. Then the grey rat picked up the slice of pizza that I was on. The person on the tip of the pizza was the first to go. He nearly took me in on the same bite. The whiskers on the rat's long muzzle brushed up against me as the rat took its bite and chewed up the last of the partygoers. Each crackling sound let me know that my death was coming soon as well. Then it was finally my time. The rat opened his maw, revealing to me the saliva slicked and blood stained teeth that were going to be my end. The rodents long buck teeth were hovering over me when a miracle happened.

I heard the wood splintering above me. Then, within the blink of an eye, the roof had been torn away. The rat looked up and dropped the pizza before darting off. Both of the rats were running like their lives depended on it. I tried to get myself out of the pizza before looking up, but I failed. The stuff was just too sticky for me to do anything. Then I heard a squealing noise and looked over to see that the brown rat was being held upside down in the air by its tail. A massive black furred hand that dwarfed the rat had a solid grip on the rat's tail. Soon, the other rat found itself in the same position. I finally decided to look up and I saw a pair of slit pupil eyes starring down at the two rats.

The unbelievably large face that those eyes were set in definitely looked like a felines. It was not just any feline either. The creature was wearing a collar, a collar with a tag on it that identified the creature as Alexander. How Alexander had managed to get so large was beyond me. Well, if the rats could do it I supposed it was possible for the cats to do it. They had somehow managed to one up the rats pretty good too. Alexander was even larger compared to the rats than he used to be. They were only about the size of his fingers, and they were definitely fingers. I could easily make out a thumb on each hand and even though I could not see I would bet that Alexander was considerably more human like than he used to be.

I doubted that the rats were too happy about Alexander's changes. He was lifting each of them into the air and he placed one screeching rodent into his maw. The sound of fangs shredding flesh and crushing bone filled the air. A little blood trickled down Alexander's jaw and then he finally swallowed. The other rat soon followed. Alexander lifted the rat above his head and slowly lowered it into his maw. The rat struggled, but he still ended up in Alexander's mouth. Alexander's lips sealed around the rodent, leaving only his tail sticking out. That was soon slurped up like a piece of spaghetti and Alexander swallowed the rat whole. I could not help but feel a little joy to see the rats meet such a fate.

There was still a problem for me. Alexander lowered his nose into the house and started sniffing around. I thought he was looking for something else to eat. Something as large as he was would surely need a lot of food to fuel its body. It was only a matter of time before his nose strayed over me. Even if I was tiny compared to him he might be able to smell the pizza I was stuck in. When his nose came across other items of food they were quickly lapped up and that seemed to confirm my fear. Despite all of my struggles I could not extract myself from the pizza and all I could do was sit around and wait for Alexander to find me.

That did not take long. Alexander's black nose was right above me. I could feel the little puffs of air as he sniffed at me. It was taking him longer to lick me up than he had the other stuff and I was surprised to see his nose withdraw. A large finger scooped up the slice of pizza I was on and then two claws picked me out of the pizza with more care than I thought such a huge creature would be capable of. Once I was out of the pizza it was thrown into Alexander's mouth and I was lifted up in front of Alexander's face. I found myself under the unsettling gaze of the titanic feline and, for the first time, I was able to get a good look at him. He was not quite as human like as I had expected. Alexander was more centaur like to my eye, or would that make him a cataur.

I thought I was cat food. Alexander was easily larger than my enlarged house. It was also easy to see that the house had been enlarged from my point of view. Not every house in the neighborhood had grown and the ones that had had bowled over other objects in the landscape. Every house that had grown either had a cataur or what I thought was a dogtaur digging into it, extracting rats and feeding off of them. Even though I was expecting to be eaten, all Alexander did was meow at me. His warm, slightly rank, breath washed over me. Then he dropped me into the palm of his vast padded hand and moved me over to his cheek. I remembered that he liked to be scratched there and I assumed that was what he wanted me to do. As I scratched for all I was worth I heard Alexander begin to purr. I soon found myself being pressed hard into Alexander's hand as he began to rub his cheek affectionately against me.

For some reason Alexander had decided not to eat me and to maintain our relationship, as had all of the former pets in the neighborhood had decided to do with their former masters. I decided not to mess things up between me and Alexander and I gave him whatever he wanted. The cat was every bit the attention hog he had been before he had grown and I think that he liked how much more attention I gave him now the he was monstrously huge. He especially liked that I started to sleep with him right in the crook of one of his legs whenever he curled up to sleep. It was the only place that I felt safe. There were other rats out there and Alexander was my only protection. I was not about to leave the safety that was my giant feline companion anytime soon. It was just a good thing that he had such nice soft fur and that he never rolled over in his sleep. I thought it would take some time to get used to this new world, but I knew that I would be alright as long as I had Alexander with me.

Part 2

Finally, after years worth of effort, the colony was finally up and running. We were finally secure from the frequent earthquakes and flooding that had claimed so many lives. The discovery of the valley that the colony was now centered in was the big discovery that had helped get the colony started so quickly. It normally took much longer to establish a colony like this. The brown walls that made up the valley know safely cradled the colony that I had come to live in and everyone lived happily.

Things were going so well that we were even considering starting up satellite colonies in the vast plane outside of the valley. That should have been easier to do with the central colony set up in the valley. Once those colonies were set up we might finally be able to gather the resources to build a colony ship. It usually took four or five generations to build up for something like a colony ship, but it looked like we might be able to do so within two generations. That was something to be proud of.

There was supposed to be some big celebration going on in town, but I was busy with one of my own projects at the moment. We were busy completing the new well at the edge of the colony. Once it was completed not only would the colony have enough to drink, we would actually have more than we needed for the first time. That alone was cause for a celebration and we did plan to have one for everyone involved in this project once we were finished. It was just too bad it took so long to build these things. Digging through all that material took a long time though and there was just no way of rushing the job. I was just happy that we had our advanced technology backing us up. Before technology had advanced to the point where it is today all of our ancestors had been forced to live in far less hospitable places on the worlds they colonized. That had severely limited our numbers and humanity had been in constant danger of extinction. Now, humanity was expanding at a rapid pace and it seemed like nothing was going to hold us back.

Just as I heard the others working on the project start to cheer as we finally achieved success, something caught my eye. Something looked like it was climbing down the walls of the valley, but that would have been impossible. Sure, things could easily climb down the wall, but in order for me to see something as clearly as I did climbing down the wall from that distance it would have had to be huge. I rubbed my eyes and blinked a couple of times to see if what I thought I was seeing was still there afterward. If it was, I was unable to tell because there was now a building blocking my field of view.

What I had seen could not have been there. Not only was it too big, but it resembled a creature from myth. There were some that said the creatures were not myths, but that they had existed in the Before Times, before they said things had changed. Most people did not believe those old tales though. Humans were the only living things on any of the worlds that we had visited. There were no other animals, but I had to admit what I had seen looked like an anthropomorphic version of something called a fox. That was just one more thing that made me think that I had been seeing things.

For the moment, I shoved thoughts of giant man-foxes aside and concentrated on the task at hand. Just because we had dug the well did not mean we could take things easy. We still had a few other things to do before the well would be truly complete. The most immediate task that we needed to take care of was installing the paneling that prevented the native growth from covering the well back up and overrunning the location the well was located on. We also had to add paneling to the walls of the well to make sure that the well did not completely disappear on us.

It was as we were setting up the first few panels that the screams started and the sirens went off. At first I thought that it might be a flash flood or an earthquake that had everyone scared. We should have been secured from those things now, but there was always the chance that technology had failed us. Everyone around me had that kind of bewildered look that people had when there was something wrong but they did not know what was wrong or what to do about it. Many people seemed torn between going to see what they could do to help and trying to get to someplace safe while they could. I was no different. All we could really do was wait for word to get to us about what was going on.

It did not take long for the first cars to show up. They came streaming past my work group and we actually had to dodge a few of them as the frantic drivers tried to hurriedly get away from something. It was only a matter of time before one of the cars made a mistake and collided with another car. That set off a huge cascade affect that bounced cars off of each other and into just about every direction that you could think off. Cars were running into the drilling platform that we had just been working on and the building that we worked in. I thought that it was amazing that it took so long before something finally exploded. There sure was enough combustible material all over the area that it was a miracle nothing had exploded after the first car came careening through the area.

But, when the explosion did come it was spectacular. I might have been biased though. Being in an explosion surely makes it seem even worse than just seeing it. My body was launched through the air with ease and I thought I saw some others being similarly tossed around as well, but that was hard to tell since I was busy blacking out. I hit something hard against my back and then I felt a large amount of weight fall on me. It did not really matter much at the moment since I was in no condition to help myself as darkness took me.

When I woke up my back was sore and I had a killer headache, but at least my body did not feel badly burned nor were any bones broken. I was covered in debris and I could tell it was going to take a while to dig myself out. It was a good thing that I could see out of the debris or I would have started to panic. There were a few boards and other objects obscuring my vision, but other than that I still had a pretty good view of the area. I could see a lot of smoke was still in the air and there were a few people on the ground. Some were unconscious like I had just been and a few were struggling to get back to their feet as they regained consciousness.

As I was moving to extract myself from the debris I felt a slight tremor in the ground. When I felt another followed up by a muffled thudding sound I thought that there were follow up explosions somewhere else. That made me put even more effort into trying to get out from under the debris before I ended up being caught in some new explosion. There was something weird about the tremors and the thudding noise. They seemed to be getting more intense and they occurred at steady intervals. It was kind of like giant footsteps, but that was ridiculous. At least I thought that it was ridiculous up until a few moments later.

I noticed a few of the people looking straight up in the air. There was a look of utter terror on their faces and I wondered what they could be looking at. Whatever they were seeing was out of my field of vision. That would not have taken much since my field of vision was pretty low to the ground. Then I saw a couple of people throw up their hands and scream just before something huge came down on them. The sickening sound of bones crunching filled the air and I starred in disbelief at what would not be there.

What I was seeing was a giant foot, or could it be called a paw. It was vaguely human shaped, except that the toes were arranged like one of those mythical animal's paws despite having five toes. The foot-paw was also covered in a fine layer of black fur that shimmered in the sun. It was also three or four times as long as a man was tall. When it lifted up I was able to get a brief look at the paw's padded underside and the less than savory things stuck to the bottom of it. I watched as that paw came down again and again on everyone that I could see. Each time the paw came down the sound of crunching bones and wet squelching noises signaled that someone's life had come to an abrupt end. I soon realized that the only thing protecting me was the debris over my head which was keeping me out of view of the monster out there.

Even if my body had not been paralyzed with fear at the moment I would not have moved. I stayed hidden for as long as I heard that monster out there. Whenever I heard those massive paws getting closer to my location I felt like I was going to wet myself. If that thing placed even one foot on the debris that covered me I would get crushed with ease. It turns out that I was lucky the creature thought nothing was hiding under the debris or that it just did not care because I eventually heard it walking off. When I could no longer hear any thudding paws I finally decided to make my way out from beneath the debris.

What I saw around me when I emerged from my hiding spot was a scene of complete horror. Anything that had not been destroyed by the explosion had been leveled by the monster. Anyone that had been out in the open was a bloody smear in the ground. I looked around for the creature, but the only signs I could see of it were newly created billowing clouds in the distance that must have been created by the monsters destructive rampage. That at least meant that I did not have to worry about the monster for now and I was safe to look for anyone that needed help. In the end, there were not many that could be helped. The only ones to have survived in my area were those like me, people that had been flung under cover before the creature ever spotted them. Many of them were still injured since they had been in or near to the same explosion that I had been in. I did what I could for them and then I went to see about finding a way to get out of the colony before the creature came back looking for survivors.

All of the vehicles in the area had been crushed, so it looked like I was on foot. There were quite a few people wandering around. It was hard to tell whether there was a purpose to their wandering or whether they were just lost in thought, still trying to figure out what to do in a farfetched situation like this one. I did not let what other people were doing concern me too much. What the creature was doing seemed much more important. I kept a watch on where the creature was going and I managed to catch occasional glimpses of it as I did so. The monster was definitely fox like in appearance and it was wearing something that sort of looked like a utility belt, but nothing else. It was also obviously a he and there was definitely a purpose to what it was doing.

That fox was going around the city destroying every last drilling platform in the city. I realized that if the equipment we had could be used to drill through the surface of the planet we could theoretically use that equipment to fight back against the fox. It would take a lot of manpower adjusting the equipment to fire up at the fox instead of down at the ground, but we should have been able to do it. The problem was that everyone was too scared to realize that upon first appearance of the fox and they ended up doing nothing instead of doing something. That fox had to know what the drilling platforms were capable of and he was moving to disable all of them before someone could start thinking properly. He was also killing so many of the people that worked at the platforms that there would not be enough of us around to use one against him even if we could get the equipment operational again. It was really scary realizing that the fox was an intelligent creature that had a purpose to its actions instead of just some mindless animal.

Once all of the drilling platforms were out of action the fox started to methodically demolish every building within the colony. Years worth of work crumbled before the fox's might. There was nothing anyone could do to stop him. All we could do was try to escape. I could see that the vast majority of the people in the area were trying to make it to the valley's walls now. If we were to escape the only way out was to climb out. It was a long walk to those walls for all of us and the only ones that seemed like they had a good chance of getting to them were the ones that still had working vehicles. I had no idea what we were going to do even if we did manage to escape. Without all of our equipment it was going to be impossible to survive. We were going to be at the mercy of any flood or poisonous gas cloud that should happen to appear. At this point we were really only stretching out our lives for a very short amount of time.

I was walking through one of the older parts of the colony when I heard the thudding noise that I associated with the fox's approach. A few cars were streaming past me and I had to make sure to stay out of the way of the drivers which were not paying attention to any pedestrians. I was so busy dodging cars that I momentarily lost track of the fox. He made sure to get my attention again by stepping on a house about a block ahead of me. The flimsy materials that the house was made out of were unable to stand up to the fox's massive amount of weight and crumbled into dust. Another paw came down into the middle of the street, crushing the front end of a car beneath the fox's toes without him even noticing.

Amber eyes looked down on us. His face was cold and expressionless. It was like he did not really care about what he was doing. To me it looked more like the bored expression of someone who had a job to do than the face of a malicious titan. Unfortunately, if it was just a job to him it was obvious that he intended to do it well. The fox started crushing everyone in sight just like he had done back at the drilling platform. Everyone around me scattered, but it did little good. There was nowhere to scatter to that the fox could not find us. Buildings were no good for cover since the fox was destroying all of them. All he had to do to demolish a building was either step on it or deliver a few swift kicks to its side.

Debris rained down all around us, a few of the larger chunks killing the people fleeing in the streets for the fox. I wished that there were many more buildings around for the fox to destroy even if the debris was dangerous. That would have given me more time to escape from the fox. I found myself digging deep and trying to run faster than I ever had before, but I was tired from the walk and I just did not have it in me to outrun a giant fox monster. It was easy to tell that the fox was behind me; his thudding paws were enough for me to tell that even without looking back. The occasional screaming voice being silenced as well as the popping noises that crushed bodies made was also a clue to that.

At one point I felt like I needed to look back and all I saw was one pillar like leg a few yards back. The other leg was out of sight and I had to look up to find it. I really wish that I had not done that. What was above me was a tapestry of death and destruction. The blood and gore soaked paw of the fox was coming down on me. There was little I could do to about it except stare at my impending doom. I saw more in horrors in that second than I would have wanted to see in three lifetimes. There were two almost complete bodies stuck to the fox's paw. One of them looked like it had been stomped on repeatedly by that point and it was impossible to tell whether the body had belonged to a man or a woman. The other body was in an even more horrific condition from my point of view. It was not nearly as horribly mangled as the other body was, but that was the problem. The body looked like it belonged to a man and his body was stuck in the fur between the pads on the ball and the heel of the fox's paw. It was still twitching too. That man was still alive and looking around, but I could tell his body was being slowly battered to death with each step that the fox took. I wondered if I was going to meet such a slow and agonizing death myself.

My body demanded that I at least make one last token effort to save myself before being crushed and I did so. I tried to dive out of the way of the fox's paw and landed flat on the ground. As the fox's paw came down I buried my face into the ground and just hoped it would be over quickly. Then the paw came down with earth shattering force. I could hear concrete crumbling all around me and I felt some weight over me, but not enough to crush me. A quick glance around me showed that I was actually in the arch under the fox's claws. By some miracle I had landed in the one place that could actually save my life, at least temporarily.

There was still one big problem for me. The fox could still see me and I found myself looking into his eyes wondering when he was going to end this. I wanted to beg for my life, but words would not come out of my mouth. The only thing I was able to do was stroke the surprisingly soft fur on the end of the fox's toe in what I hoped was a friendly gesture. I was truly amazed when I did see the fox smile down at me and he said, "Well aren't you a lucky one. I think you're a keeper."

I thought that I was dreaming as the fox lifted his paw off me and then scooped me up in one hand. He then dropped me off on his shoulder and said, "Hold on tight. I still have a job to finish and I don't want you falling to your death while I do it." I did as he said and maintained a death grip on the fur of his neck as he continued to destroy everything in the colony and crushed just about everyone that I knew. There was one lucky attractive young woman around my age that the fox also decided to spare and he dropped her off next to me with the same warning to hold on. The woman did not watch the destruction as I had been doing. She just buried her head in the fox's fur and looked like she tried to block everything out. After a while, I did the same.

I don't know how much time passed before the fox poked the both of us in the back and said, "You two be quiet and don't move." Without waiting for a response he pulled something that looked like a communicator off of his belt and spoke into it. "Alright, the job is done, get me out of here." I thought he was calling for a car or some other type of vehicle to pick him up, but it looked like the day still had a few surprises left for me. Something, it was hard to tell what it was because it was impossibly huge, came out of the sky and picked up the fox. It took a while for my mind to figure out that what had seemed like a giant fox to me was being pinched in between a couple of fingers.

We were lifted further up than I had ever been except outside of the colony ship. None of the colony ships had windows and I had never really been able to see what was outside when we made the trip. What I did see looked more like a fever induced nightmare than anything I would have expected to see from the colony ship had I been able to. The planet that I had been living on came into full view and I could see that it was no planet that I had been living on. What I the entire colony had easily been able to fit into was the belly button of an enormous female deer. She was so large that the fox could stand on the tip of her finger with no problem at all.

The fox and the deer had a conversation using their communicators. I doubt it would have been easy for even the fox to understand what she was saying without the communicator because her voice was too deep for me to understand without listening to the communicator instead. As it turns out the fox really had been doing a job for the deer. He was a human exterminator that the deer had hired to get rid of us annoying pests. The fox told her that there were still a few humans left on her, but thorough spraying and bathing should take care of all of them. Then the deer paid the fox and set him down on the ground.

It was then that I worked up the courage to ask the fox, "Why did..."

"Why did I let you live? I get that question all the time so just sit back and listen to the speech," said the fox. He did go on to explain everything to us. Apparently, the fox needed us to act as a breeding pair. Human exterminators were much better than their customers thought they were and humans would go extinct if they did not keep a few of us around. It had a lot more to do with things other than job security though. The world that all of us lived on did start out as a human colony, but there was something strange about the already abnormally large planet that changed the creatures that humans had brought with them. All of them started to get smarter, become larger, and they took on the forms that we were seeing. Most of the humans had left the planet when they saw this happening, but a few stubborn people had tried to stick around and make the colony work. Eventually, the creatures started to get so large that human civilization was literally trampled underfoot. Not everything grew at the same pace though. For some reason herbivores and plants grew much faster than predators and omnivores. All of them kept getting larger with every generation, but the herbivores had really shot ahead over the years. That was why the deer was so much larger than the fox.

There had been a movement among the herbivores to exterminate the predators a while back until we humans started making our presence felt once more. All of our activities on their bodies were extremely annoying and the predators were the only ones small enough to effectively deal with us since our technology tended to thwart the herbivores attempts at getting rid of us very easily, especially since most of them had a fear of touching us for some strange reason. That gave the predators a purpose and when they happened to grab a few extra chunks of meat from the holes we dug through the herbivores thick hides they could blame it on us.

I was a little uncomfortable with the idea that the fox wanted me to breed to maintain the system that the fox had just explained. Then the fox explained that it was either that or he was going to eat us and I decided I would learn to live with it. He even said that if we did a good job he would let us live as pampered pets when we could no longer perform out duties. That was the best I could hope for, and years worth of sex followed up by a pampered lifestyle did seem much better than dying to me. The occasional look at the underside of the fox's paws after a job I would receive over the years reinforced that opinion very well.

Part 3

It was that time of day in the city. Everyone was out and trying to get to work on time. There was some accident that was seriously backing up traffic and I was happy that I happened to be close enough to walk to work. Walking was not particularly fast either, especially not with there being such a huge crowd that everyone was walking shoulder to shoulder, but I did like walking. I had pretty much grown used to the large press of humanity after all this time. Everything had seemed like it was going to be a pretty ordinary day.

Then something strange happened. It was like the entire world skipped a beat. For a brief moment my heart felt like if had stopped and my vision looked a little shaky. Then my vision went completely white and when I could see again I was not where I had just been. All of the people were still around me, but the buildings were gone. A few people sitting a few feet away that used to be in cars that had suddenly disappeared looked more surprised than anyone else. There was no concrete beneath us, just a black surface that seemed to radiate a bit of heat.

A startled cry brought my attention to something else in a different direction. I had decided to quit doing drugs a while ago, but I wondered if anything I had used could still cause hallucinations even after a few years. That was the only way that I could explain seeing two building sized anthropomorphic horses locked in passionate sex with each other. There was a female horse of generous sized proportions for any size with brown and white fur that was the smaller of the two. That was not saying much since one of her hooves looked like it was nearly as long as an eighteen wheeler. The male horse was a powerful looking equally well endowed specimen with a barrel chest and a nice coat of grey fur. Their glorious long manes waved through the air as the two of them continued to mate with each other, seemingly oblivious to our presence.

A few people averted their eyes from the sight, but most were just staring at the unusual change in scenery. Then someone finally decided to do something other than standing around and looking confused. He actually started walking up toward the horses and tried to get their attention. It was not an easy thing to do since the two horses were preoccupied with each other at the moment. I wondered if that was a good idea since there was no telling how a wild animal would react to a strange little creature just walking up to it like that. But then I spotted something that the man must have already seen. Both of the horses were sporting a number of piercings. The male had one through his nose and lip while the female had three in each of her long ears as well as lip ring and belly button ring that was pretty hard to spot considering the position that they were in.

I thought that the two horses might be intelligent creatures after all. It would be nice if they knew where we were and how to send us home, but for some reason I did not think they were responsible for all of this. They were just too into each other to make me believe that they had brought us here. That did not mean they couldn't help though. It sure would be nice to have a couple of friends that looked like they were well over 100-feet tall around to help us out. Unfortunately, things would not work out that way.

When the man finally managed to get the attention of the female horse she actually shrieked. The male turned to look at what had startled the female and said, "What the hell is that thing?" He did not give the man any time to explain himself. Instead, the horse jumped up and immediately crushed the man beneath one of his very large hooves. Then the male looked around and spotted the rest of us before saying, "Look at all of them. Where did they all come from?"

The female was taking the chance to look around and then she said, "Forget about where they came from. Where are we?"

The male finally seemed to realize that he was not where he thought he had been and said, "I have no clue, but I'll bet those things know. They're probably aliens or something and they tried to abduct us. Let's get them to send us back."

We were all still shocked from seeing someone crushed like a bug and when the horse approached us we all backed away from him. It did not help that he was looking very aggressive at the moment and no one wanted to be the one that the horse tried to interrogate. After seeing that none of us were too interested in talking with him the horse finally sighed in exasperation and said, "I don't know what you little bug aliens want from us, but send us back now! We were in the middle of something, so just find someone else to experiment on."

"We don't know how to send you back. We aren't even sure how we got here ourselves," said some brave soul.

The horse snorted, "Stop playing games with me. It's only you and us here and I know I didn't bring us all here, so it has to be you. Now send me home or we're going to start having some problems."

We could all see that things were about to start going bad awfully fast. There was no way we could send the horse home and the horse seemed to believe that we could. For some reason it did not even cross his mind that if we were able to send him home just like that then we would not be placing ourselves in harm's way like we were doing. It appeared that the horse was an intelligent creature, just not intelligent enough.

For a tense few moments all of us just stared at the horse and he stared right back at us. Then someone broke and ran away screaming. It was like opening a flood gate. Everyone started screaming and running away. I did what everybody else was doing. The horse was going to get violent with us and I did not want to be the one that he vented his rage on. "Where the hell do you all think you're going," shouted the horse as he started to pursue us.

There was one big problem with the plan of running away and that problem was that the horse was far quicker than any of us. With the help of the female he started cutting us off and herding us back into one big group. It did not do anyone any good to try and break from the group. Both of the horses did not seem to have any problem at all with crushing a person under their hooves. Before long there were over a dozen bright red stains all over the strange surface that we found ourselves on. Whatever the surface was made out of, it was strong and when the horses stepped on someone that person was crushed flat. It was a messy thing to behold as blood and whatever other parts of the human body that could squirted out from beneath those massive unyielding trotters.

When we were all back in one group the female horse said, "Listen, just be reasonable and send us home. Nobody else has to get hurt that way and we can all be happy."

"We honestly don't know how to send you home," some woman said, "We're just as lost as you are!"

The female horse showed that she was not very patient and moved to step on the woman without a moment's hesitation. She ground up the woman's remains as she said, "Stop it with your lies. Send us home, now!"

There were quite a few reactions after that statement. Many people looked like they were having nervous breakdowns. A few people were pleading for their lives while others were trying to come up with convincing lies. I could see that all we were doing was annoying the horses and I prepared to deal with the consequences. The chance that I was going to have to dodge a few hooves very soon seemed very likely to me. I knew I was right when the female said, "They sure are noisy little bunch of bugs."

"And none of them are saying anything useful," said the male. "I say we start crushing them until we get the truth out of one of them."

"Agreed," said the female. Then the two of them started wading into our mists. They were crushing people at random, no one was safe. Each time one of the horses stepped down there was a sickening crunch. There was the occasional agonizing scream of someone that was only partially crushed and still alive, but most people died instantly under the horses hooves. It was terrifying and extremely frustrating that there was nowhere we could even try to hide. The only things in sight were us, the horses, and the ground we were on. A few of us did manage to get lucky. While the two horses were busy crushing everyone they did not notice about eight of us break off from the rest of the group and leave the scene of that massacre.

We did not make it far before the horses finished up the main group. With nothing to conceal us we were almost instantly spotted by the horses and they came running after us. They moved with hideous speed, and even though we had a few minutes head start on them they still managed to catch up to us in less than half a minute. I had not known how close they were until a hoof came down in front of me and I ran straight into it, bouncing off of it as if it were a brick wall.

"Don't crush these just yet. They're the last ones. Plus, they interrupted our fun and I think they owe us a little payback," I heard the male horse say as he and his mate towered menacingly above our little group. We still tried to get away. It was not like we thought we had anything to lose. They were going to kill us all unless we managed to send them home and the eight of us had no clue how to set about doing that. It looked like they did have something different planed for all us than the others. I then wondered how we were supposed to pay them back as the male had stated.

It was no fun finding out what the two horses had planned. The horses started picking us up two at a time. I saw one person dropped in each horsed mouth. Two people were deposited on the female's breasts. Another person was partially shoved up the female's rear and another person was left trying to hang on to the males erect member. I was kind of able to guess what the horsed planned to do with us after that. The last two people, me and another man, were not going to directly participate in the love making the horses had planned. We were both partially pinned under a hoof, but they did not crush us and only our legs were beneath the rock hard objects.

They just made sure that we were lying face up and watching what they did as their bodies came together. It looked awkward having sex while standing up to me, but they seemed to be perfectly alright with it. The people stuck on them for the ride did not look nearly as fine though. I watched as the male made sure that the two people on the female's breasts were directly between them. The female had large firm looking tits and the male's pecs were nothing to be ashamed of. When the horses embraced each other I did not need to hear crunching bones to tell me that the two people had been crushed between the titanic lovers.

Then the horses started kissing. It was obvious that there was some tongue action going on. I could also see that those dropped in the horses mouths were being passed between the two as if they were nothing more than little toys. After a little while the horses must have grown bored with their little game because I saw two noticeable lumps descend their throats. Then, as the horses were getting ready to move onto the next big stage of their activities, the weight on me began to increase. It was only a little at first, but I could tell that the horse planned to crush my legs slowly. They were probably hopping that I would be in enough pain that I would no longer defy them and help them get home by the time that they were finished. If I could have I would have helped them get home the second I felt my bones starting to crack.

I felt that the people above me were much luckier than I was. They were probably going to die a lot quicker than I was. The male horse rammed his cock right into the female's pussy. The person that had been in the female's rear had taken a direct hit from the male's long hard shaft. If that person had still been alive it would have been a miracle. The person that was on the male's cock was not having a fun time either. As the male repeatedly shoved his member up the female's pussy the little person along for the ride kept getting battered between the two of them. Eventually, that person managed to get stuck in the female's rear as the other person had been. It was unfortunate for him that he took multiple partial hits from that massive piece of horse flesh assaulting him before a direct one mercifully brought his life to an end.

I wished I could have been that lucky. As the horse continued to pound away at his lover, the weight on me increased the entire time. Each bone in my leg broke multiple times as the weight on me continued to grow. My screams of pain did not bother the horses in the least bit. The other person trapped under a hoof was screaming just as loudly and to just as little effect as me. I thought things could not get any worse until the lovers climaxed. They forgot all about doing things slowly and their hooves came all the way down almost instantly as their bodies tensed up. It was such a rush of pain for me that it felt like the breath had been knocked right out of me and the level of pain seemed so unreal that my mind shut down briefly, refusing to accept what had happened. The mixture of bodily fluids that started to rain down on me went almost unnoticed as I tried to cope with what had happened to the lower half of my body.

When the two lovers were finally finished with each other they finally turned their attention back to us. The male looked down at us and started to say, "Now, are you going to help us out or do we..."

He would never get a chance to finish his sentence. The ground beneath us start shaking. It was almost as if it were pulsating. Then I felt movement in whatever we were on. Something started to come into view and it took me a while to figure out what it was. It was easy enough to tell once I figured out how small we must be compared to what we were on. The thing we were headed towards looked like the tailhole of some massive furred creature. I guessed that we were actually on the cockhead of some unbelievable huge creature that planned to do with us what the horses had done with the other two people.

At first I was horrified, but then I started laughing. The horses were going to get exactly what they deserved. I was also looking forward to a much quicker death than I was sure the horses had in store for me. When we past the side of the massive beast's tailhole I was surprised that we were not killed instantly. There was just enough space for us not to get ground into paste against the fleshy walls that surrounded us. That only lasted for but so long though. As we were shoved in and out of the tailhole the horses forgot about me and the only other survivor of their rampage while they were in panicking. In their attempts to get away in any way that they could they ended up falling off the member of whatever creature we were on and into the massive cave that was the other creatures rear. I doubt they lasted long as the member continued to pound away at the cave.

There was not much time left for me either. When the member finally started ejecting its seed into the cave, it filled up much more rapidly than I thought possible. Massive waves of cum washed me off of the huge member and into the roiling sea of seed all around me. Even if my legs had been uninjured I would not have been able to swim in the hot sticky substance. I ended up swallowing mouthfuls of the stuff and was surprised that it tasted as good as it did. As I drowned in the milky white substance I could at least say that I died with a good taste in my mouth.

******

"I wish that I could stay as still as you could. The micros always notice me when I have them land on my cock," said a brown furred male kangaroo.

"It just takes practice," said a gold dragon with an ebony member, "You've only done it three times after all while I've lost track of how many times I've done this."

"I kind of guessed that, especially with the way you like messing with humans," said the kangaroo.

"You noticed that," said the gold dragon.

"Of course, every time you have done something today you have messed with them. First you made that deal with the rodents to see what would happen and then you made a deal with the humans' pets to see how things would work out. Then you messed with reality in that one dimension and created that wacky world with the oversized herbivores. And then there was this little incident with the two of us. You summoned all of those little humans onto your cock with those aggressive horses and then waited until they had had their fun before we had ours," explained the kangaroo.

"I do have to admit I do like messing with them, at least a little," grinned the dragon.

"Then I'm sure you won't mind if I summon a few more onto my cock than you did before I take my turn with you."

The dragon smiled, turned around, and presented his lifted tail to the kangaroo. "Go ahead, I can't wait."
