Fenrir just couldn't stop thinking about Leaf, he really hoped she was safe but he was worried in case she wasn't, he couldn't stop thinking about the moment they had and he wondered whether things would have been different if they had kissed one another that day.
No matter what, though, he just wanted her to be sitting beside him in his nest. The nest seemed so empty and lonely without her sweet scent, he missed the way she would always joke around and tug his tail. She was almost like a tiny warm teddy bear to him, cute and soft.
He was dreading the next day.
It was very early morning and many Arcanines were still deep in slumber when his mother jerked him awake
"Fenrir wake up" she said softly "It's time to choose your mate"
He groaned and rolled over "I told you I don't want this" he mumbled half asleep still.
His mother sadly grunted, she truly didn't want to force her son into this but at this point she was out of options "Im sorry Fenrir but once again you have no choice, now the girls are lined up waiting for you, get up!" she commanded, and stood over his head looking especially fierce.
"Ok..." he groaned and sat up, he was surprised and horrified to find his parents had lined the girls up right in front of his nest, there was about 23 or 24 of the best looking and strongest females of the pack, they all curtsied and giggled to him, he turned to his mother with a look of disbelief, "You're joking right?" he said in a dull tone.
"Move!" growled his mother and Fenrir reluctantly rushed off to the end of the line furthest away from the trees Leaf had disappeared into and reluctantly walked past each girl, inspecting them but not taking a great deal of notice in them, he just didn't know what to think, he truly did not want this at all.
Leaf sat on a grassy hillside, which could be clearly seen from the packs home ground, behind him and tearfully watched him trying to pick out a girl. Her tail swayed in the air softly, her own species didn't tend to mate for life and she didn't feel like a random male should mate her, so she was being careful to avoid any one else, but she had picked the worst spot and her scent drifted down from the hill side attracting the males of several species.
Fenrir turned away the last of the girls and looked at his mother who looked back at him startled.
"NONE OF THEM!" she screamed "HOW COULD YOU PICK NONE OF THEM?!"
"I don't like any of them" he replied his hind legs scrunched up a little and his tail down
He couldn't deny the spring was starting to become effective on him but he was ignoring it to the best of his ability.
Leaf herself was also becoming affected, her female heat was beginning to scent through her fur and before she knew it her scent had attracted several males who all started fighting for her, Leaf whimpered, scared and started to back away from the quarrelling three only to bump into two others who joined in the fight, One charged and jumped on her only to be knocked off by others, this time of year was a terrible thing for the females of almost every species, Leaf couldn't escape, there was no way she could out run them all.
Fenrir as well as most of the other Arcanine pack heard the growls and scuffles come from the hill side, as the males up there were prepared to fight to the death over the right to mate with Leaf's feminine places, tats all that truly mattered this time of year, and it didn't matter with who either.
In another twist of fate the wind shifted position and Fenrir caught Leafs scent and his body suddenly jolted awake as he cried out "LEAF!" he suddenly dashed away having woken many of the Arcanines and greatly shocked his parents, with his haste to reach his love.
The little Leafeon found herself cornered between the devil or the deep blue sea; she faced either risking her body by turning and running, or fighting which she was too weak for.
An Electrike Slowly approached, the other four had run off with their tails between their legs.
Leaf was weighing any of possibility of escape but so far found none, and whimpered, she yelped loudly as she backed up against a tree.
The Electrike jumped and grabbed the scruff of Leafs neck, so tight she couldn't move, he determined to claim his prize.
"It's all over..." Leaf said as she slowly shut her eyes, the Electrike manoeuvred its self behind her.
"LEAF!" cried Fenrir jumping up in front of them and startling the Electrike, making it let loose its grip, Leaf shoot out from under him faster then you can say "run", and duct under Fenrirs muscular body.
"Are you OK Leaf?" Asked Fenrir sounding stern and concerned but not taking his eyes off the Electrike who growled at him and bared its fangs
"I am now you have come Fenrir" She smiled relieved, her voice soft but shaken.
Fenrir ducked his front down and let loose an angry, fierce, frightening roar, making the Electrike run for its life, The pack heard his roar and were not only impressed but shocked at how loud he could roar.
Fenrir then turned to Leaf and nuzzled her softly.
"I'm so, so, so sorry I abandoned you, can you ever forgive me Leaf?" he pleaded and Leaf smiled softly and gently butted heads with him.
"Of course I can forgive you..."
The pack had gathered at the edge of their home ground to watch to two up on the hill side.
"I never had chance to tell you before... but Fenrir... I'm in love with you" Leaf confessed, she said it in her normal unwavering voice; she kept her body straight as she spoke those words and blushed uncontrollably.
"Leaf... Is that true? ... Because... I realised... since the day you left... I simply cannot live without you" He stared lovingly into her eyes "You've made me realise a part of myself I never thought I had, I was always happy to be alone... always happy to be single until I realised how much I could actually feel for another Pokemon, I now realise I was never truly happy to be alone... Leaf I love you so much... I never want to leave you ever again" He sat down slowly staring at her.
All went silent for a few moments before a tearfully happy Leafeon jumped on Fenrir.
They deeply and passionately kissed, their tongues dancing under the light of the finally risen sun, their love shining through for the whole world to finally see.
His mother sighed and looked to his father, who shared a joyful look for their son who finally achieved true love.
