Jessie felt a little weird as the rabbit winked at him. They'd been friends for three months, Jay had made living on this island paradise bearable. "Hey look, why don't we go on a camping trip into the hills. It's the holidays and it'll get you away from those guys for a while. I promise no-one will try and pull your shorts down." The idea caught the human by complete surprise, the confusing emotions inside him all rose up with a single answer. "Okay, that sounds like fun. I'll have to ask my mother first though."

Jay jumped to his feet and offered Jessie a paw up saying. "You go ask permission, I'll go get packed. I have a tent and some fishing equipment, we can catch our supper and we can eat fruit off the trees too. I promise you'll have a great time and no-one will make fun of you for wearing shorts to swim."

"Ok, I'll go find my mother and ask for permission. I'll get some stuff packed and meet you just outside town in an hour." Jessie said excited at the prospect of a few days away from everyone. "How long will we be gone for?"

"I dunno, three nights maybe? However long you think your mother will let you go for." Jay replied excitedly, he punched the human playfully in the shoulder and then turned and ran off in the direction of his house.

The two talked almost none stop as the walked, joking on about their friends, the school and every little bit of trivia they could think of. The going got tougher as they headed on and after an hour they had to stop to rest. Jessie grabbed Jay's backpack as they stood up after their rest. It was three times heavier then his own.
