The sun shown down upon the small city as people went about their dally activities. A young man walked down the street dressed in jet black pants, a crimson red shirt...his medium length blonde hair combed back with a slight spiked wave. He closed his eyes slightly with a soft sigh before stepping through the doors of a bar.

He slowly moved to a table in the back, taking a seat in the darkest part of the room and ordered a beer while lighting up a cigarette, taking a deep drag before blowing the steel blue smoke from his nose slowly, his eyes scanning over the room slowly at all the people in the building.

Soon his attention was drawn in by the sight of a lone figure that stood across the street from him, before moving off slowly into one of the ally's a few feet away.

He then paid for his drink as he got up too follow, moving from the bar and crossing the street, dodging a few cars that nearly clipped him.

Once in the alley he looked around seeing the path curve off and turn sharply to the left, so he moved deeper into the slowly darkening path until he came to the corner.

As he slowly rounded the turn he came face to face with the back of the person he saw across the road. The person was dressed in a long black hooded trench coat that reached the ground with ease.

"Why are you following me?" asked the hooded figure with a soft angelic voice.

"Why was you watching me?" he replied.'

"I've been watching you for quite a while, Michael."

"Funny how you should know my name, when I have yet too learn yours." Michael replied shortly as his body tensed up slightly. "Show me your face."

Slowly the figure turned around too face him, ice blue eyes lookced upon him shining like diamonds in the sun before gloved fingers reached up and pulled the hood down reviling a snow white she-wolf. She watched him carefully, before speaking softly.

"I am Mayril. I've been watching you since you was a child."

"Why?"

"Because you are special. You have certain abilities." she replied before stepping closer toward him, her movement alowed him a glimpse of a pure silver revolver on her right hip. This caused him too make his stance more visable.

"Hold it right there. What abilities?" he replied sharply as he kept his eyes on her every move, keeping his attention split between her and the gun at her side.

"You have had dreams of a battle torn city, bloodshed, death, and chaos?"

"Yes I have...how did you know about that?" he asked, taken aback slightly from her dead on statement of his most private, and reluctant dreams that he had frequently.

"There is nothing that I don't know about you, Michael." Mayril replied offhandedly before smiling softly.

"Don't worry... I intend you no harm."

"Why should I trust you? You have been stalking me for years and just now happen to show yourself to me and expect me too trust you?" Michael growled slightly.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't revile myself to you without risking the chances of you being put in grave danger at such a young age." she replied, sighing softly before taking two more steps closer toward him before stopping and looking around slowly at the path behind him, then to the rooftops.

"What are you talking about?" he blinked before any other question could be asked, a deep blood curdling scream was heard from above them both before shadows fell from the rooftops, landing all around them. The shadows staired at them with blood red eyes before rushing at them with seemingly inhuman speed.

Michael rounded on one that got close to him, lashing out with a right punch, slamming into the creatures jaw, sending it stumbling backwards into the wall.

Two more rushed at him, fangs poised and ready too strike before he took a step back when one lashed out with its razor like claws. He caught a glimpse of the second one comming up beside him, sending it to the ground with a strong upper cut under it's jaw, before rounding on the first one, sending a powerfull straight kick into it's chest, knocking it backwards into two of the other creatures.

One of the creatures not far away growled, it's body rippling with energy like it was nothing more than pitch black smog, soon exstending it's arm out and sending a large black blade towards him like it was nothing more than a oversized whip.

Mayril saw this and moved toward Michael but was shocked when he sidestepped the attack, glaring at the creature with a grin, holding up his right hand, sending a small ball of white light at the beast, slamming into it's chest causing it too slam into the wall with such force it drove it right through the brick.

It was only a short few seconds before they was both surounded by the creatures, standing back to back of one another waiting for the next move.

It was a intense stand off between them before the creatures gave a screech that seamed too reverberate through the alley before disappearing into the shadows.

"What was that all about?" Mayril whispered softly to herself as she kept alert, watching the shadows intently.

"What in the hell was those things?!" Michael growled slightly, as he eased his stance. Before anyone could say anything else, a deep thunderous laughter came from above them, before a lone figure dropped down not far away from the two of them.

Michael then shook his head slightly, while cracking his knuckles. "Who the hell are you, buddy? I'm having a very bad day right now."

"I'm a old friend if you must know." replied the figure as it stepped into the light, reviling a middle aged man dressed in all black, and with iron armor on his shoulders, chest and legs.

"I don't have any friends." Michael shot back bitterly as he clinched his fists, getting more annoyed when the person snickered softly.

"What are you laughing about?"

"I forgot...you never had friends...they all die when they are around you." the person grinned slightly, before shaking his head. "Well since you don't have any friends...alow me too introduce myself...my name is Mark" he replied with a graceful bow, before noticing Mayril watching them, a grin slowly forming once more.

"I don't have time for games...what the hell do you want.?!" Michael growled slightly, tensing up more.

"Michael...don't do anything rash." Mayril spoke softly, watching the young mans body, sensing the anger building.

"Come now, Michael. Life's too short too not have fun with friends..." Mark snickered softly.

"Being a only child and all." he said, watching Michael's eyes narrow slightly.

"Oh...did I hid a nerve?"

"I'm gonna make you eat them words, asshole!!" he yelled, before lunging at Mark, aming a left hook for his head.

"Michael, Don't!" Mayril called out, but was too late.

She watched as he sprinted toward Mark with his fist pulled back, lashing out only too have it blocked.

He followed it up with a straight jab, also having it blocked with ease. Michael then went on the offence, sending one punch after another, followed by a series of kicks which each one was blocked. He was then sent sliding back first across the ground from one single punch.

"Childs play." Mark snickered slightly, while crossing his arms over his chest.

"You're weak...pathetic....no wonder your mother left you when you was just a child."

"You...son...of a...BITCH!!!!" Michael yelled with a slight snarl, getting up slowly, a red aura forming around him laced with black. Two black balls of energy forming in his hands before he brought his hands up and together, forming a sphere the size of a basketball in front of him. Mark grinned slightly as he stood there watching before Michael lauched the ball of energy at him with such force and speed it left a trench in the concrete in it's wake before slamming into Mark with a loud bang.

He stood there panting hard, glaring at the smoke as it slowly cleared away, reviling Mark standing there without a scratch on him.

"My turn now?" he raised up his hand, forming a small white ball, before thrusting his hand forward, sending it toward the young man, exsploding on contact, sending him slamming into a dumpster, sliding it down the alley and into the wall at the other end.

"Pathetic. When you get stronger, you might just prove a more entertaining challenge. But right now...killing you would be a waist of time." he scoffed in disgust before disappearing in a flash of black flames.

Mayril rushed over to Michael, looking him over slowly before sighing softly, hefting his unconscious body up in a fireman carry, and leaping up to the rooftops, taking him out of the city and deep into the woods.

When Michael came to he was laying in a soft bed, inside what looked like a old log home. He heard voices off to the side, causing him too look over slowly, his vision swimming slightly and his head throbbing with a dul ache.

"What are you going too do with him, Mayril.? You know he's still too young too master all the skills." spoke one of the voices...definantly male.

"You know I can't just leave him too die. He was lucky that Mark didn't pull his full power and that he just pulled his punches." replied Mayril.

Slowly Michael's vision cleared enough for him too see the figures clearly. The one speaking to the she-wolf was a older looking wolf with jet black fur, dressed in blue jeans, and a white tank top. He kept watching them before he sighed inward.

"Anyone got any asprin? And can someone tell the little bastard in my head too turn off his jackhammer? My head is killing me."

This caused them both too turn around and look at the human, before Mayril spoke softly.

"Yeah...let me go get you some." she turned and left the room through a small side door that must have led to the kitchen.

The other wolf looked him over slowly as if sizing up his pray before speaking.

"How do you feel?"

"Besides a major migrain...I think I'm okay." Michael replied slowly before looking around. "Where am I?"

"You are deep within the woods, away from the city. This place is a safehouse protected by various enchantments that ward off detection spells." the wolf spoke rather offhandedly, before shrugging. "My name's John. You already know my sister, Mayril. "

"I see." he replied, while looking about the room. Turning his head slowly to John once more when he cleared his throat.

"There is someone else who want's too see you."

"Who.?"

"Me." came a females voice from the other side of the room, causing Michael too look over, his body tencing up at the sight of a woman standing in the small doorway dressed in blue jeans, red t-shirt and a pink blouse. She only looked too be around 43.

"God damn it." Michael muttered slightly while looking away, closing his eyes. "What the hell do you want?" he half growled.

"Too see if my son's okay." she replied.

"A little too fucking late for that isn't it?!" he looked to her with a accusing glare.

"I'm sorry. I know what I did was wrong...but i had no choice."

"Bullshit! You had a choice. And you took it...you gave me away.!" he paused for one brief second too let the throbbing in his head ease away "Penny."

Penny sighed softly, while looking down as if the floor had something more interesting there. He could see the signs of tears forming in the corners of her eyes but he didn't care. Why should he have any remorse for the one who abandoned him.

"I'm truely sorry."

"Like hell you are!!! You never gave a fuck about what would happen to me...you never tried too find me!. The only fucking way I know who you are is because of a god damn photo I found in grandmas old house!" he snapped.

"That's enough!" John growled deeply, and before he could say anything else, Penny spoke up.

"It's okay...I deserved it." she said while choking back a sob, her eyes still locked upon the floor before she looked up to Michael. "I don't expect forgiveness from you...and I understand if you will always hate me. But a second never passed without me wondering where you was and if you was alright. You might not know it...but I loved you then and I still do now." she then turned and walked out of the room slowly, before Mayril walked in a second later.

"I take it that it didn't go too good." she said while putting a glass of water and two pills on the nightstand by the bed, which Michael quickly grabbed.

"What do you think?!" he replied, still fuming while setting the glass down slowly. "I don't know what game you two are playing but it's pissing me off."

"Is that what you think this is? A game?" replied John. "That this is some fairytale childs bedtime story? How else do you explain those creatures that attacked you two days ago, the fact that you can use certain powers, the fact you should be dead right now because the attack that hit you consisted of over ten million volts of electricisty that could kill anyone."

Slowly Michael got up, glad he still had his jeans on, but as mad as he was...he doubted he would have cared. "I can see your mouth moving but I can't hear whatever it is you're saying. Do me a favor...quit trying too tell me how too live my life." he growled.

John growled deeply, his hackles standing up slightly. "Boy...you're really starting too get on my nerves."

"That makes two of us." he replied sharply.

Soon John clinched his fists, as they became coated in blue flames, as he glaired at the human infront of him.

Michael slowly took a stance, doubling up his fists, before he noticed something. Red tendrils of fire coming from his fists, causing him too just stand there looking.

"See...this isn't a game. This is as real as the flesh on your body...as real as everyone in this house. This isn't some joke...this is life. This is your fate." Mayril spoke up, slowly stepping between the two of them, before stepping up to Michael slowly, her eyes locked on him.

"What....What the fuck is wrong with me?" he whispered to himself "What's going on?!" he nearly yelled, while looking at his hands, then to the she-wolf that now stood infront of him, her eyes locked on him seaming too look into his soul.

"You have a special gift...we all do. But your's is different." she spoke in a soft, soothing manner as she slowly took his hands in her paws, the flames slowly dieing out. "You just need too learn how too use it. Too bend it to your will and profect it."

Michael kept stairing at her silently, unable too look away from her as if some force was keeping him locked in place...his mind going a million ways at once, trying its best too comprehend all that was being said to him. "But why?" he managed to say, but it only came out as a whisper.

"None of us know why...or how. We just deal with it and use it too better man kind." she smiled softly.

"Then teach me..."

"I think i can handle that...but the question is...can you?" her smile widend slowly, watching him give a shaky nod.

"Good. We can start today. Come on."

And with that, she walked out of the room with him following her not far behind.

"I hope you know what you're doing, sis." John muttered softly to himself as he stood alone in the bedroom.

Once outside, Mayril took her spot on the other side of a clearing near a large creek.

"First off...is learning how too control it. Have you noticed that when you get mad...it shows up erratically without you noticing it." she watched him give a slight nod. "Well try using it when you're calm. Focus on what you want."

Michael looked at his hands slightly, before giving a soft sigh. "Well...here goes nothing." he whispered softly, before focusing on bringing out the supposed gift he had. Soon his hands became coated with a soft white flame, before moving up the length of his arm, stopping at his shoulder. He then held up his hands, looking at the flames with unbelieving eyes before he then looked to Mayril.

"Good...good. Now....you see that tree over there?" she pointed to a large tree off to the left,

"Yeah...what about it?"

"I want you too destory it." she replied.

"And just how do you expect me too do that? I'd need a tank or C4...or...." he trailed off slowly, a grin forming on his lips as he looked too the tree slowly. "I know just the thing. Lets see if this works." he muttered softly, a small ball of energy forming in his hand before he pulled his arm back in the form of a pitchers throw and then launching the ball toward the tree.

When the ball connected, a loud exsplosion ripped into the air as dust and smoke covered any sight of his target.

Once it cleared away, all that was left was a large four foot wide hole where the tree once stood.

"Holy SHIT!" he yelled, looking at the damage. "That was awesome!"

Mayril smilled softly with a nod. "And that is just the start. You have so much more too learn...but as you get stronger...so dose the power inside you." she grinned "One more thing."

"Yeah.?" he replied, still looking at the damage, unaware that she was charging at him,

"Always mind your suroundings and your back."

"Huh?" he blinked, turning around just in time too see her paw doubled up and coated with a blue flame, coming right for his face. "Shit." he muttered.

The sun was setting slowly and Michael was kneeling down beside the water, washing his face slightly from the dried blood that left a trail from the few cuts on his head and from the corner of his mouth. His jeans was stained with blood and dirt and so was his upper body. Mayril stood beside him, her own body marked with her shair of dried blood, bruses, and dirt.

"I'm truely surprised." Mayril snickered softly, looking down at the human before looking off to the setting sun.

"Why's that?"

"Because no one in their first day of training has been able too use their power so freely in a calm way and also withstand that much physical beating for that long." she replied.

"What can i say...I'm hard headed."

The she-wolf just shook her head with a soft laugh before turning and walking back toward the house. "Come on...we've done enough training for today. But next time...don't think I'll be so easy on you."

Michael stood up with a smirk, before following her. "Bring it on."

Once back at the house, they both went their own ways, and Michael decided too take a much needed shower....slowly moving to the bathroom and stripping away his jeans, he then stepped inder the warm water with a soft sigh. "Damn I'm gonna have some bruses tomorrow. Oh well." he snickered softly.

He then stepped from the bathroom after finding a pare of shorts too sleep in, crawling under the covers he slowly fell asleep, but a thought ran through his mind before sleep took him. Who was that guy named Mark and how did he know about him being a only child.?

He couldn't get any further than that before he passed out.
