Subject Delta
There comes a point in your life, no matter what came about to begin your life, that you realize something. My "point" came along the day I started to remember...my "other" life. It started seven years ago...heh, lucky number 7, it so happens it was the seventh of july that day.
**I was on the bus, riding home from work, and I was staring out the big bus windows, it was raining too. I began to wonder if my life meant anything...and than I blackedout...
"Subject Delta is coming along nicely, his skills proceed that of any of the others. The only subject to have as much skill as Subject Delta is Subject Bravo." The voice of a strange woman I still barely remember echoed in my mind.
"Yes ma'am, Bravo and Delta show supieror skills over the other...but...Bravo also shows psychotic motives, shall we terminate him?" A man spoke to the the woman with these words...I could barely hear them, I felt like I was floating. "No, we might need him at somepoint, his skill is to valueable to throw away. No, I say we lock him away, we can use his vat to grow another subject."
"However....now, unfortunately, we have to ask Subject Delta the difficult question. Does he want to see the outside world, and be, normal, like the people he sees in the training vids or does he want to stay, keep training and become a weapon of last resort?"
These words made my thoughts race, could I be normal? could I, or would I just be a freak? "Yes ma'am, draining the Delta vat" The man sounded like he was not very happy. "Thank you, you may go now" The floating feeling soon faded and I felt as though I was standing, my eyes opened and I saw the woman. She stood there with a smile on her face, and I saw a man walking away, whom I could only assume was the man I heard speaking.
"Hello subject Delta, if you'd please follow me, I will take you to see the doctor now, me and him have some questions for you." I followed the woman, slowly at first as I felt I could fall over, but that soon faded. We came to a small room and after I entered I found that a guard was behind the door and closed it behind me. "Please, sit, we have much to ask and talk about" I did as she said and the medical questions proceeded.
"Now...Subject Delta...I have to ask..." She didn't finish her sentence before I simply answered. "Yes, yes I want to at least try...TRY to have a normal life...I still want to help and be apart of what you are doing, l-like a superhero." She sighed and looked at me in sorrow.
"I thought you might say that...but unfortunately, you have to pick, and from your tone I know what you want" the lady nodded and my chair, or what I thought was a chair was triggered and metal bands instantly locked me to the chair and it converted to a lab bed. "I'm sorry....but you can only lead one....and to be normal your memory must be wiped, goodbye Subject Delta...and...good luck."**
