***********************************

forced into a hedge row two micros gasp for breath, having been forced back from the street after spotting a couple approaching down the road. Both now hoping they have avoided being spotted themselves as a two huge pairs of paws stomp by, both micros hold their breath till hearing the idle chatter of the norms fade out of ear shot.

The first micro of the pair to break the mutual silence is Mitch, the larger of the two gives a little laugh, always one to make the better of a situation he gives the other, Ben a playful shove.

"see you big baby, we could of made it all the way to the house before they even got close. Or is big the wrong word at the moment" Mitch laughs instantly getting a glare in response from Ben "are you kidding me! One day all this 'baby' stuff as you call it will save your skin!"

And once again an awkward silence falls upon the pair, with only the slow sounds of owls and the odd barking dog in the distance filling the cold evening air. Both had found everything so stressful recently with all the goings on in such a short amount of time, first of all the random shirking started happening to people, almost a quarter of the town was reduced to only a few inches tall overnight. That was almost a month ago now and already stories where becoming an all to common subject for discussion of shrunken furs becoming mare playthings for those unaffected, forced into slavery for their new owners, being used as insoles, made to preform humiliating sexual acts or even being eaten as if it was totally normal. And with no set out way to address the problem as of yet by the local government, people of trust such as the police or hospitals where not much better given the strange disappearances and 'accidents' that happened to those micros that sought help from them.

But for the these two the fact of the hard life they were faced with was all too clear, when forced into their new situations micros often found it safer to stick in groups as well as being able to talk and share the situation with others. Only last week where they in a group of three, the other being a plucky young badger with typical markings, out at night while scavenging out in a park the badger wondered a little too far, following a trail of tempting food directly into the middle of a foot path.

Both Mitch and Ben hear something approaching and instantly dash towards the bin on the edge of the path, safely behind cover and out of site they both shout to the badger to get back. The relatively young guy never hearing their shouts till looking up and spotting two different paws emerging from the darkness, one a light brown with black pads and the other red with white toes, quickly to be followed by another pair of the same colours. All sets of tiny eyes fix upon the titanic appendages as once again they lift and take a step, the red and white fur covered paw heading directly towards the little guy in its path, Ben and Mitch on the side of the path watch on with hearts in throat as the badger gets a view of the underside of the paw, the slightly stained black pad with yellow spots all over rushing downwards with a ghastly crunching sound following after.

"ughh god damn it!" one of the walkers groan, his paw already pressed flat against the ground on top of the little form under it "here let me help" the other walker laughs and lifts a paw over the one crushing a life under it, and simply presses down on top of it as well. a dark chuckle sounds from the two is the last that Ben and Mitch can take and quickly retreat further, leaving the remains of the badger behind to avoid the same fate themselves.

"Look it's getting colder and rain isn't going to let up Ben, we need to start getting inside at night before we really start struggling" looking out and along the row of houses "and it looks like there is one right across the street! Letterbox next to the floor and everything!" this instantly gives some form of hope as the pair stagger behind the thick wall of leafs having scouted most of the houses on the street for things such as house owners being about as well as any house pets. "Mitch are you mad? We haven't even checked that place yet I'd rather stay in the cold than risk whatever the hell is in there!" giving a stamp onto the ground to assert his position.

"well I'll see you in the morning then" the black cat grins pushing the small branches out the way and dashing across the path and towards the front door of the unexplored house, just about able to reach up to the letter box and push it open and force his self into the opening.

Looking deeper into the bush, then out again towards the huge front door with his mind rushing between sticking together or being left out alone for the evening. The pull of sticking together proves to much and Ben quickly leaves the bush, bolting towards the door and clambering into the slot his self. Landing with a dull thud onto the hard wood flooring the two micros quickly scan across the vast expanse of hallway, the darkened outlines of everyday household still proving to be imposing to the two little home invaders. The smells of the larger home owner always over powering the senses of those that shrunk, in this case several pairs of discarded shoes against the wall being enough to remind the two of their intrusion into this strange land.

The two micros stare into the darkness, keeping totally silent while they take in their surroundings. A distant snoring presumably from the owner being the only thing the two notice. With a smile Mitch yet again breaks the silence turning to face the other feline "see, totally fi-" without a single word Ben grabs Mitch's arm and turns him towards an open door way they both look into the darkness, two amber eyes staring right back towards them. The sound of claws tapping on the floor being the only warning as the imposing form of a Alsatian suddenly makes its appearance from the dark. the two micros spontaneously sprint in different directions to make it more likely of escape, a lesson you quickly learn when your entire being is in danger.

Ben runs towards the front room and managing to squirm his self under the sofa and looking back towards the door way shouting out to Mitch in some hope of distracting the predator from his companion. Mitch however didn't quite have the same luck as he ran towards the pile of shoes against the wall the dog remained right behind him, the humid and stinking breath of the pet canine washing over him only pushing him to run faster than ever. Without a second guess the small cat leaps towards the opening of a boot and claws his way into the depths in record time, his hands griping tightly at the fabric under him, the dampness and smell of his surroundings not of a concern as his chest heaves while gasping for breath.

The shuffling and sniffing from the dog is non-stop for what seems a countless amount of time before the opening is suddenly blocked by the massive wall of muzzle shoving its way into the cats only exit, everything shifts as the dog pulls his head back, boot still on his muzzle and constantly growling at his treat inside. Unfortunate Mitch is subject to the conditions inside becoming increasingly unpleasant with the mix of humidity bad breath and boots smell quickly adding to the plight of the cat. Quickly the insides become alike to a sauna, with the shaking only getting worse the feline steadily loses his grip on the worn threads supporting him and before long his grip falters and he is quickly after guided towards that awaiting muzzle.

With a thump the boot is flung to the with a heavy thump, a pair of furred legs protruding from the golden furred lips kicking fruitlessly while on the inside the cat shouts and screams for some sort of let up, only getting bombarded by warm, thick and stinking drool that clings to the cats soft fur and matting it down with a constant mix of sounds from deep within that throat ahead of him. Legs kicking and arms trying to push or pull at anything the little cat feels everything shift upwards suddenly along with his legs suddenly becoming sealed behind the thick lips, and without a second more of waiting everything once again shifts up, a sickening sound of a wet gulp pulls him towards that awaiting throat whole.

Outside Ben watches on helplessly once again as he watches, hoping that somehow Mitch was left inside the boot however his heart sinks looking at the two legs kicking at the outside of that damned dogs muzzle as if to reinforce the fact his friend is defiantly trapped within that maw. Because not a second later they disappear from view along with a clear gulp almost as if to tease him. Now feeling numb Ben simply watches on as the dog trots towards the sofa with a wagging tail, his view dominated by the four massive paws for a moment before the canine drops down onto the floor with his back against the sofa.

For hours the now lone cat stares into that dogs thick fur, unable to think of anything other than his only other friend stuck in that stomach, forced to endure the horrid idea of being digested alive. His trance is only broken by the odd noise of the dogs stomach groaning for attention, as the cat slowly starts to succumb to exhaustion he is sure he can hear Mitch's shouts from that simple house pet.
