#3 of Legacies and Legends

Well it seems I mistakenly uploaded this as a journal entry instead of a story... Naturally I fixed this mistake as it was pointed out to me and my OCD is sated! :3

Chapter 3 is here! This one I had a lot of fun with as well, though it took a bit longer as I have had to work around papers for school... :/. Anyway, here we have Sevelle and Milo's reunion. After 12 years of separation the two finally get a chance to catch up. Also Milo makes a decision that he has been avoiding for quite some time. One has to wonder where this will lead as Milo's obligations to the two kingdoms has begun to incorporate into his thoughts. I hope everyone enjoys and as always comments and critiques are appreciated!

"My lord!" Sven stopped and saluted before continuing, "We have a problem. The guards have arrested a group of pirates trying to smuggle illegal substances into the city. We have them detained but the captain demands to speak to the king."

Milo held his concentration on the molten sphere suspended in the air before him. His gaze did not waver, though he quickly partitioned his mind in order to converse with the recently entered guard. "It is late Sven... Can this not wait until tomorrow? Surely the captain of the guards can keep a few pirates in check."

"Sir, the captain refuses to wait. He says he must prove his innocence tonight." Sven seemed a bit uncomfortable, if the slight quiver in his voice was any indication.

Milo sighed and tossed the ball of liquid fire into a nearby brazier. The fuel inside screamed to life giving the room a vibrant, warm glow. "I am really not in the mood. I am expecting an old friend this evening and I would rather not be in a foul mood upon his arrival."

"Sounds to me like you are already in a foul mood, your majesty." Milo turned towards the unfamiliar voice that spoke so blatantly rude. The feline found himself gazing at a tall cheetah dressed in white linen clothing and grinning like a child who just found a gold piece.

Sven gawked himself, sputtering in disbelief as he reached to draw his sword. "Y-You! How did you get here? How did you get away from the guards?"

The cheetah shrugged, "I told them to watch me carefully. Alas they did not seem to feel that I was a threat. First mistake."

"You killed them?!" Sven was incredulous.

"Did I say it was their last mistake? Be at ease captain. Don't get your tail all in a knot. Geez you Pumas are so easily agitated."

"Cougar..."

"Same thing." Sevelle said, paw waving dismissively.

Sven growled and voiced his disagreement. It was obvious this was a touchy subject for him. Milo had never been sure why the uptight feline seemed so averse to the use of Puma. Technically it was the same species, though the regional differences may have something to do with his obvious distaste of the term. "Captain. I will take it from here. Thank you for your hard work. Now, go get some rest. Remember you have lance practice with me tomorrow afternoon." The captain saluted and took his leave, but not before giving the grinning cheetah a look of utter disgust. The king had a feeling that this little confrontation was not quite over with.

"My you are surrounded by some stiffs. Never thought I would see the day where quiet little Milo would become so strong." That playful smile brought memories flooding back to the Siamese. He could not help but smile back as the two friends embraced each other after 12 long years. "I have missed you brother. Never a day has passed that I have not thought of you."

"And I you, Sevelle. It has been far too long. Come! I have ordered a meal prepared in your honor! Not a feast mind you, but a private dinner. I tire of banquets and all of the pomp which goes along with it. That stuff is for guests anyway. You are family." The two padded off towards Milo's chambers. Their conversation over the meal remained light-hearted; often consisting of the better times of their days together as younglings. Milo took the time to analyze his dear old friend. Sevelle had grown into quite an interesting character in the past 12 years. It was not surprising seeing as the cheetah always had been able to adapt much easier than most of his species. He was tall, almost a head taller than Milo himself. And where Milo had the strong, lean build granted to him through his training with the monks, Sevelle had been at sea for years. His body was that of a sailor's. His arms were thick and his chest and back wide, tapering down to a slime waist that just hinted at his strong lower limbs. The way he moved was as graceful as always, yet now his grace seemed more perfected. It was as if every movement was perfectly intentional. Milo wondered if Sevelle had ever been approached by the Hunters for his talents.

"This place... is magnificent. I never would have dreamed either of us would be standing in such a grand hall, much less one of us living here. Moira's head would explode if she could see us now." His focus was on the walls and tapestries around them so he did not seem to notice the grimace on the king's face at the mention of Moira's name.

"Tell me of your travels, Sevelle. Where all have you been? I can imagine the life of a pirate is quite exciting." Anything to pull the subject away from her.

Sevelle cleared his throat. "First off, I prefer the term smuggler. Mercenary also will work. Any ships I have robbed have been because I was hired to do so. I am by no means a pirate..." Milo smiled apologetically, "As for where I have been... Brother you would gladly leave this life of leisure if you knew what lay waiting out there. I have been so many places, from the shores of the Astorielle Empire to the Garnet Islands. I have dined with canines, avian, and even the merfolk."

"Merfolk? You mean the fish people?"

"For someone so educated you are quite ignorant. Yes the "fish people" though Merfolk is the preferred term. Quite nice I must say. And don't get me started on the women... Though now they hold no sway over my feelings. Not since I met Melaine..."

Milo gave the cheetah a surprised glance, "Melaine? The great Sevelle Valeros has a mate?" The king never expected this subject to blossom into a lecture on how beautiful this Melaine was. From what Sevelle said he met the fox while stumbling drunk through a street in the small port town of Hinde. Obviously he had been just about to get robbed when she jumped in and saved him. A less than romantic tale in Milo's opinion, though Sevelle told it as if it was the grandest tale of romance in all the land.

"What about you? The mighty magus king has yet to find a mate? One would think that ladies would be lining up for a chance."

The Siamese chuckled, shaking his head as the two reached the large gold embroidered doors to his chambers. "No... Unfortunately I have yet to find someone that can tolerate me. Perhaps I am too dangerous..."

"Or too stupid." A voice from within bit off the rest of the king's words. Inside the room a long table was covered with a vast assortment of dishes and tableware. Candles lit the room in place of glow lamps. At the far end a slender feline sipped at a cup of red wine. His slender frame wrapped in silks and his muzzle held a grin directed solely at Milo. Aiden stood and sauntered over to them, hips swaying seductively under his flattering garments. "My king does not have any other callers because I will not allow it. Milo is mine and mine alone." His forepaw brushed lightly along Milo's chest.

"Well, well... I had no idea Milo. Such a beautiful creature too..." The cheetah bowed, taking Aiden's forepaw and kissing it lightly. "I can't say as I blame you, though I had no idea you preferred this type. He is quite the jewel." He grinned at Aiden's own sultry smile.

"Oh now this one I like... Milo you should keep him around..."

"Aiden, why are you here?" He resisted the urge to take the lynx in his arms. "I thought you were upset with me."

"Of course not! True I was a tad disheartened, but I know how you think. Thus I realize what you are trying to achieve by pushing me away. I have decided that even if you won't have me, I will still have you. I know how you feel about me and I refuse to sit by while you try and take on the world alone. Now, I am going to bed while the two of you catch up." With that he padded off, closing the doors behind him.

"The tension is thick..." Sevelle said with a hint of amusement.

"I have a feeling I will be seeing him again tonight."

"Oh? Why is that?"

Milo turned and sighed as he walked over and sat in the now vacant chair at the end of the table. "Because the door he just left through is the door to me bedchambers..." Aiden would not quit it seemed. Milo was grateful for that fact. Even if they could not be together as mates, it was still nice to have him there.

"He is right you know." The king looked up into his friend's pale gold eyes. "You can't keep trying to shoulder all of this by yourself. Two kingdoms is too much for one fur to maintain for too long. Also... I think keeping your feelings locked up like that is going to get you hurt. Don't give me that look. I saw the way your eyes lit up when you looked at that lynx. It was as if you were tasting life for the first time. It is the same way I feel when I look at Melaine. Why not let him in Milo?"

"I don't want him to die..." The next few moments were filled with silence. Milo knew what his friend wanted to ask. Sevelle had never been one to let something go even as a cub. An explanation would be long and tiresome. Tonight was not the night for such a tale and the king expressed that, much to Sevelle's disappointment.

"I understand... but know that I will have it from you soon. For now, let us enjoy a meal. I happen to be famished."

"Big words for a pirate." Milo chuckled and bit into a piece of glazed boar.

"Impresses the women. You cannot imagine how many I have bedded just by throwing around some fancy words." The two furs laughed and continued reminiscing into the night. The smaller feline was happy to see his friend doing so well. An infamous smuggler and captain of a fleet of five. Milo found himself wondering what that life would be like; what that freedom would feel like.

The hours grew long and the two found themselves considering sleep more than conversation. "I have provided your entire crew with rooms here in the castle. I am sure your mate and the rest should already be nestled nice and cozy in our most comfortable beds. The guard down there can show you to your own room, as well as your mate's so that she can relocate to be with you. I think you will find the dwelling plenty large enough for the both of you."

"You have my thanks brother. It has been a long day and I am overdue for sleep. I will see you in the morning." He stood and padded over to the door where a guard awaited to escort him to the guest hall. "Oh, and have fun!" He grinned and Milo watched the two pad away. Sevelle seemed to be joking with the guard, surprisingly placing an arm around his shoulder and yelling something about a giant serpent. Some things would never change.

Milo turned towards his own chambers. Stepping through into the darkness he disrobed slowly. The night air was cool and the stars glistened through the open doors of his balcony. Tonight was a new moon, so only the stars could be seen dotting the night sky. He smiled as he considered the day's events. Seeing Sevelle had made this day one of the happiest he had experienced in years. It seemed his brother had not really changed much at all, though he had grown strong. Milo knew what this meeting meant. It was providence that the cheetah arrived at such a time. Sevelle was obviously the one he was to choose to command the Vallosian naval fleet. Yet, would he leave his life as a smuggler behind? Could Milo ask him to leave the life he loves behind?

As he approached his bed the king remembered the last thing Sevelle uttered as he left. What did he mean have fun? As if in answer he felt a forepaw slide across his stomach pulling him against a warm, slender body behind him. "Aiden?"

"I am tired, Milo... Tired of waiting for you. I know now that it must continue being me who takes the first step, these leaps of faith that grow increasingly more difficult. For you I will do what I must. Even if you hate me in the end, I will show you the extent of my love. For the rest of my life I will be here by your side. I will comfort you, console you, and protect you from harm. I will also give my flesh to you." The lynx stepped back letting Milo turn around. The king felt his face heat as he gazed upon the slender feline's shapely form. Until now he had been able to resist Aiden's advances, keeping him at arm's length by keeping in mind just how much danger he would be putting his advisor in by being with him. This night he could think of nothing but the shapely fur standing bare before him. He felt something stir deep within him.

He tried to speak, to say the anything that would stop what was happening, but nothing came. Milo did feel the same way for Aiden. He wanted to embrace him, wanted to have him there always, wanted to taste the lynx, to caress him, to make love to him and take him as a mate. It was time he stop acting so selfish. Aiden would end up killed if he kept on like this. If the lynx refused to leave him be, then the only other solution was to keep him as close as possible. Milo just hoped he would not regret this decision. More than that he hoped he would be not ruin what would potentially be the one thing that could fill the hole in his heart.

The king stepped forward and pulled the smaller feline into a tight embrace. Their muzzles met and Milo felt his worries melt away. He did not remember being lying down on the bed, just the taste of Aiden on his tongue. He felt his breeches sliding off his hips and in moments he was bare against his lover's fur. His passion flowed forth unrelentingly as his forepaws caressed every inch of the feminine frame which now straddled him. He moaned as Aiden slid his hips forward and back, grinding on Milo's growing member. It was an exhilarating feeling, but nothing compared to what came next.

His flesh tingled and he let out a deep moan as he felt himself sliding into the tight entrance of his lover. Aiden himself seemed stunned at the feeling, a look of sheer ecstasy spread across his muzzle. The lynx moaned with delight as he pressed further onto the shaft penetrating him. Then he began to move. Slowly at first, but quickly picking up the pace as his moans grew increasingly loud. Milo felt something growing inside him, a familiar heat which scorched his inner self. Fire.

He let out a gasp as flames spread in tendrils from his body. Panic took hold of him and he scramble to keep the magic in check. Aiden froze on top of him, a look of fear and wonder taking the place of pleasure. Milo's fear turned to wonder in a matter of seconds. This felt different than anytime he had handled fire. It was as if the flames were joyful as they danced around the two. He noticed that they burned nothing they touch, though they still gave off an intense heat. Of course, passion was their fuel. In the throes of their lovemaking his flames fed on his passion. He had never heard of fire burning nothing though. This he would need to ask the monks. He smiled up at Aiden who grinned back taking the meaning and continuing where he left off.

Milo allowed the flames to feed and they danced around them. The two furs began to sweat heavily, yet the lynx only intensified his movements. Milo smiled and pulled at the second source of power within himself. Tendrils of water flew from a nearby basin and wrapped around the feline's gyrating body. The lynx gasped at the chill but soon returned to moaning as Milo led the water to his lover's own erection. The pleasure must have been too intense as Aiden quickly climaxed, releasing himself onto the king's chest. Milo moaned as the lynx's own climax caused him to tighten around the Siamese's member pushing him over the edge. He felt fatigue rush over him in a wave as Aiden collapsed on top of him. The two lay unspeaking for the better part of an hour before Aiden rose and began to slide off of the bed as if to leave.

"And just where are you going?" Milo inquired as his ears cocked questioningly.

Aiden paused and gave him a curious look before his muzzle widened into a grin, "No reason to worry. I am just going to pour myself some water. I worked up quite a thirst, my lord." He poured two full cups and brought them back, handing one to Milo and downing the other. "So does this mean I no longer have to cry myself to sleep at night due to your shunning of my advances?"

The king gave a panicked look, "What?"

Aiden chuckled, "Oh stop. You know me better than that. Though I am glad I will not be sleeping alone tonight..."

Milo smiled and set his cup onto a nearby table. The Siamese then pulled Aiden into his arms and held him there, purring softly. "Never again..."

Aiden looked up, apprehension blooming in his eyes. "What do you mean never again...?" Milo could see where his mind was going with this.

"I mean never again will you have to sleep alone, Aiden... I want you here with me always. My chambers are yours, as am I if you will still have me..." The king felt his cheeks heat and he was glad the room was so dim.

Aiden's smile seemed to split his face in two. His tail swayed happily and he moved to press his muzzle into his lover's. The kiss made every inch of Milo's fur stand on end. The lynx pulled away slowly, "Always..."
