Chapter 5

Servant of darkness.

Nessi watched as the two prisoners he embedded with power screamed out in pain. He watched as their bodies became covered in shadows. It was heavenly. He couldn't help but get hard instantly.

Taylor and Mikey were waiting for Brad to arrive. They had come to Brad's grandfather's place which was just a small house outside of town. It was near a lake that was surrounded by a small forest.

"Hey Mikey, Taylor. Are you guys ready?" Brad said as he saw Taylor take out the book. This was going to be a bit of a trial. His grandfather was not one for surprises.

"As ready as I ever will be. This book might lead me to my parents. I have to do this." Taylor said determined. Mikey was bit hesitant himself but Taylor was adamant about this.

Brad took the lead and walked up to the house and opening the unlocked door. "Grandpa! It's Brad! Are you here?"

"In the cellar boy!" A voice responded back.

"Are you descent?" Brad asked while motioning for Taylor to stay.

"Boy, what makes ya think I am ever decent in my hut!?" the voice responded a bit angry.

"I got company! Not just Mikey!" brad yelled back.

"Fine! I will be right up" The voice yelled back before grumbling.

Brad just face palmed before turning to Taylor to give clarification. "Grandpa is a nudist, so he never wears clothes even when we visit."

Soon the owner of the voice walked into the room. He was an elder black squirrel with grey hair and silver eyes. He only wore a pair of white slacks. "What brings you here Bradley? And who's this guest you bring to my house?" The elder squirrel said.

"This is Taylor, Mikey's online friend who we found at a police station last night. We brought him here in hopes that you can translate this book for us?" Brad said as he handed over Taylor's book to his grandfather. His grandfather eyed brad weirdly until he looked on the first page. His eyes went wide and he stared at Taylor.

"Brad, who's this boy? Why does he have something like this?" His grandfather asked.

"That is what we are hoping the book can tell us. He said he was found with it as a kid. We were hoping you could translate it." Brad said as he showed his grandfather the rest of the book. Brad also managed to whisper into his grandfather's ear. "He knows nothing of the black circle but he has a priest book for Leos. We need to find out what's in here without letting him catch on."

"Well... Taylor was it?" Taylor nodded. "I can translate this paragraph here and a bit of the rest. This is written in a language I am an expert in. So I can tell you what it says."

"You can? What does it say?" Taylor perked up excited that someone was finally able to tell him what was written in the book that he was found with.

The elder squirrel looked at both Mikey and Brad who nodded. "It says that 'The boy holds the key to stopping the shadows that soon engulf the world. The light must shine again."

Taylor looked puzzled but Mikey and brad looked worried. "Huh? Is that some kind of prophecy? What does it mean by shadows that engulf the world?" Taylor asked quizzically.

"This book might contain more code. I know of others who will be able to translate it but it will take time to get it to them." The elder squirrel said.

"I already had Mikey make copies grandpa. He sent one to his dad already." Brad interrupted.

"Perfect then I shall send one to my colleagues but it will take at least three months to get anything back. I hope you can wait until then." The elder squirrel said to Taylor.

Taylor nodded with glee. "I have been waiting my whole life to find out more about that book! I can wait a few months." Taylor was almost bouncing around with excitement but Brad and Mikey smiled with him though they both broke out into a cold sweat.

'Mikey, brad be very careful, Leos was the most powerful of us and they could sense events in the future. If this boy was sent by Leos to destroy darkness then Leos foresaw their end and let it happen. Whoever this shadow is, that boy is the key to revealing it. Be careful both of you!' Brad's grandfather had sent his voice threw the ground and into Mikey's and Brad's ears.

They both nodded before escorting Taylor out. Brad's grandfather quickly went back to his work in the basement stripping himself of his slacks. "Fucking pain in the ass Leos." He muttered out before heading back to work.

Taylor looked out to the horizon, He had a new sense of hope for the first time and he intended to make the most of it.

Servant of Thunder.

Zheng was stunned he was walking through the deadly forest that contained the pollen that would kill anyone who it came in contact with. But like the locals it was avoiding him. But that was all it took to take his mind off things. He was walking with Mark and Chouken who were making sure he did not run. His father and that wolf named Iroh were also chained being led by the muscular bears and tigers. His grandfather and uncles were upfront leading the parade with Zhu holding his grandfather's hand. It was a long trek back to the heart of the village but Zheng was trying to keep his mind off things and just enjoy a walk through the forest.

Zheng looked down then tugged at the shackles that were around his wrist. "Hey can you guys ditch these things already. There is no point in me running at this point." Zheng said defeated.

Mark and Chouken looked at each other in confusion. Should they? Or should they not? Their decision was made for them when they came up on a clearing.

"We are here." They heard their chief say. The group had arrived at their destination. The chief had reached a golden square in the ground with some symbols on it. Everyone had started to gather around the slab of gold. Zheng was a bit surprised to see what the entrance to the village was. The chief then caused the slab of gold to rise.

Mark looked back at Zheng. "You are about to see something that you couldn't imagine in your wildest dreams." Zheng looked at him curiously as he saw all the guards strip off their silk shorts. Zhu had joined them and Iroh and his father had their clothes forcefully torn from them. Mark and Chouekn joined in the stripping before ripping the clothes off Zheng.

Zheng was surprised by the sudden aggressiveness and tried to cover himself but got dragged along by Chouken and Mark. Zheng watched as everyone before him jumped into the hole one by one before Mark and Chouken pushed him in. To his surprise he was gently floating down and what he saw amazed him. As he gently floated down he saw a city made entirely of gold. Golden roads, golden buildings and a giant golden temple a while in the distance. This was what heaven was described as in Salliemis. A city of gold with tons of riches to around.

"Amazing isn't it?" Mark asked Zheng.

"Yea, never dreamed something like this existed." Zheng remarked as they approached the ground and everyone was gently let down.

"Let us head to the castle. We shall deal with everything there." Zheng's grandfather said.

As Zheng was lead through the tribe he noticed some strange sights. Everyone was naked except for golden jewelry that most adorned. Mostly necklaces and wrists cuffs. As they were lead through the city everyone waved or bowed to show their respects.

Zheng was a little off put by something though. Where were all the girls? There was not one in sight. That was weird. He knew the rumors said that they kept the women secured in the village away from outsiders but that wasn't the case. There were no females here to begin with. Things started to become clearer but also even more confusing.

Soon they reached the stairs of the temple and Zheng was even more stunned it was bigger than he saw before. It was amazing. This was something he never dreamed of seeing of ever. Once they made it to the top of the temple they reached a throne room with two golden seats. One which was occupied.

"Xin? What happened in the village?" The fur on the throne said. The fur in question was another artic wolf.

"I found our little trouble making son that is what. I also brought his kids to meet you." Xin, their grandfather said. He had the guards bring Lee forward to meet his father.

"Lee! Oh my." His father ran over and hugged him. "I missed you, so much. Welcome home."

Lee couldn't meet his father's eyes. He turned to his other father to see that he was looking at him with disappointment.

"Release Iroh! His crimes have been erased he is now free." Xin ordered his knights to release Iroh. Iroh went over and hugged Zhu who started crying in his arms.

"Zheng, I believe it is time for you to learn of what you are. You have been kept in the dark for far too long." Xin said as he walked up to Zheng.

"What I am?" Zheng asked curiously.

"Zheng, you are a prince of this tribe, and this tribe is a tribe that is in service to our god Tauro. One of the six gods of the black circle. We exist to keep the world in balance with the others. And you my boy are a priest." Xin lectured as Zheng stared at him not quite grasping what he said.

"A priest? Me? Black circle? What is this all about?" Zheng shook his head before covering his face with his paws and curling his tail around his legs. "I was just a regular school kid two days ago. Now all this?" Zheng groaned but Mark and Chouekn went over to comfort him. They both put an arm around him.

"You can blame that idiot son of mine. He ran away from being a priest because he was afraid of failing his trails. Your father robbed both of you of your birth rights as inheritors of the will of Tauro. With the help of his friend Iroh there he ran away from the island. Iroh however returned to the village ten years ago and has refused to give up your father's location since." Xin explained.

"That is why dad was so afraid of coming back here? Because he ran away from these trails?" Zheng inquired.

"Yes, He ran away from his duties as a priest even went and tried to break a taboo in our tribe." Xin turned to his youngest son who was still in shackles. "You didn't think something was wrong when 'Irina gave birth to your sons? You forgot about the taboo? What a fool you are my boy."

Lee refused to look his father in the face instead he stared over to Iroh who had Zhu held tightly. "Iroh? Why did you do it? Why did you trick me like that?" Lee asked.

"I am so sorry, I couldn't let you break the taboo so I used one of our secret techniques to transform myself into Irina. I let you think that you could start a family and get away from the tribe but when the spell ran out of power I had to return home. I am sorry I put you through that. Especially you Zhu and Zheng." Iroh looked a bit sympathetic but Zhu was hugging tightly.

Zheng raised an eyebrow, Zhu was being way too affectionate. "Remember when I said that Irina is still alive?" Xin asked Zheng to get his attention.

"Yea you said my mom was back in the village but... why do I feel like that there is more to it than that? I didn't see one girl when we walked here but I did see two guys making out and a few more holding hands..." Zheng trailed off as he refused to believe what his gut was telling him.

"Then you know. Iroh here is your 'Mother'. This is an all-male tribe to a degree anyway. It is a tradeoff for the power we now wield. We are no longer allowed to reproduce without the approval of our gods. Your father wanted to prove that wrong but he failed. He just had two boys who were not raised in our customs and have put you in a difficult spot." Xin said in response.

Zheng looked down to the floor, this guy right here was the mother he could barely remember. That would explain why Zhu was holding him so tightly. Zheng felt his shackles fall off him as Mark and Chouken released him. The poor wolf sulked as his entire world had been shattered. Everything he knew was about to taken away from him. His grandfather grabbed him and held him tightly.

"I know this must be a shock for you. But this is your life, this is your path and this is your family. I know it is not what you grew up with but this is where you belong. You will learn more about your world as you go but I am happy that I get to be a family with you." Zheng had some tears running down his cheek as he cried a bit. Mark and Chouekn looked at each other both wanting to know what was going through Zheng's head.

"Kanki, have some knights prepare their rooms. They will need their rest. It has been a troubling day. However there is one more thing I need to show them." Xin said as he motioned to Iroh to send over Zhu.

Zhu ran over and gave his older brother a hug before his grandfather took them both outside. He held both Zheng and Zhu to his side as he looked out from the temple. "Look up Zheng. This place is where you belong and it needs you to protect it."

Zheng looked out to see the golden city stretching far and wide. On the ceiling above were glowing crystals that provided light. He could even see the people of the tribe going about their daily lives. This place was calling out to him. He could sense it. This was the place for him. And he was going to learn to live with it. This was his life. Just as his grandfather said.

Zhu and Zheng and their grandfather Xin were pulled closer together as they looked out all three knowing that their lives would be changed forever.

Servant of Darkness.

Nessi was out in the courtyard watching as Rose prepared to use his power on the first prisoner that the warden had prepared. The fox was slowly approaching the prisoner who was scared shitless by the way the prison had changed.

"Big R! What have they done to you?" The poor deer screamed as he was once cell mates with the white rabbit.

"We're getting closer and closer, and we shall grow stronger and stronger. This world will be engulfed by shadows. And we shall be the ones to rule it!" Nessi said as he got a cheer from all the guards around him and claps from coach and muscles.

It was just a matter of time.
