#1 of Pokemon Arc

Been awhile, I know. My muse decided to take a vacation and is back for a short time, so I whipped this up. It's a different Pokemon Story Series, and there won't be much, if any, yiffing. Also, copyright of Thunder goes to FluffyEars, Pokemon is copyrighted to Nintendo, yada yada, lots of legal bullcrap that needs to be weeded through. There might be something kinda epic next upload though, so YAAAAY! I'M BACK!!

Two trainers of different backgrounds, and even different desires, headed towards Celadon City, hoping for a relaxing evening as the sun set in front of them. The male of the two wore a t-shirt stained with grass, mud, and looked slightly ripped at the back, a pair of faded, torn, and stained blue jeans, muddied boots, and fingerless gloves. He had a pack on his that stored spare clothes, a jacket, and a carrying case for badges, of which he had none. He had a couple spare areas in the bag for his unoccupied pokeballs, healing items, and even a few Technical and Hidden Machines, all of which were running low or completely empty. He did have the standard pokemon belt with only one pokeball attached, meaning he had been having rotten luck catching some pokemon.

The female had on a rather elegant dress that she kept emaculate, hair down past her shoulder blades, a sun hat that kept the sun out of her eyes and kept the rain from slamming into her face, shoes that (thankfully) weren't high heeled, as well as a pack of her own, carrying healing items, spare clothing, and berries. Her belt held three pokemon, though in different balls than her male companion, his being the standard red on white Battle Trainer, while hers were pink with sparkles on white, showing she was a Fashion Trainer. They had met up in Lavender Town and decided to travel together for awhile, seeing how Celadon was on both of their lists. Typically, the male would have had at least three badges, but he didn't want to go to Celadon for the gym, he needed to find out what was going on with the pokeball production company, Silph Co.

When they arrived just past the gates, they saw the typical skyscrapers of the main city, as well as several parks with non-trainers tending to their pokemon. When they looked at their map, they realized that Silph Co. wasn't in Celadon, but rather, Saphron, but the guards were being rather cranky and not let them pass, which seemed completely wrong overall. They couldn't do anything about it, considering that an Officer Jenny backed up the gate guards, so they settled for Celadon anyway, considering the massive shopping building that seemed more like a monument to Arceus than a building for customers. However, the daylight was fading, so they'd have a chance to shop the following morning and decided to go to the Pokemon Center and rest for the night. The male's Charmander was the battler for the two of them, and hadn't evolved yet, and wouldn't for awhile, according the Pokedex of the male. After having given the care of their pokemon to this city's Nurse Joy, they were given a free room, the only room with two beds left, since the rest were filled with trainers wishing to take on Erika or were just passing through on their way back to Viridian. Once in the room, they sighed as they took off their bags and flopped onto their respective beds, enjoying the comfort that few travelers could experience with life on the road.

The female spoke up after a few moments of silence, looking to her companion. "So Flame... gonna see if the market has any pokeballs for sale?"

Flame looked at her with a sleepy expression more befitting a Snorlax. "I'll give it a shot, though I doubt they'd have any in stock... same story everywhere else... Viridian, Pewter, Cerulean... even Lavender were out of stock... but we can always try something else out. There are at least a few places that have pokeballs to go with pokemon they sell... could try those."

The Fashionista just nodded before adding, "I just hope it's not from the game corner... gambling does not suit my style."

The Trainer just chuckled. "Which is why we're gonna check out the floors of the massive shopping skyscraper. They have shelters for abandoned and rescued pokemon, and there are also a few pokemon pet stores on a few floors."

She only nodded before succumbing to sleep, to which Flame soon fell prey to shortly after. Both of them had a serious decision to make tomorrow after a complementary breakfast served by none other than the motherly pokemon, Chansey, of the Vet/Inn that the Pokecenter served as. Granted, they both had some serious questions about Tauros Steak, as well as a few other things, such as the Oddish Onions and other stuff. Even Eggsecute Omelettes. Currently though, they were more concerned with sleep, and that is what they had gotten.

After they both had showered, redressed, and ate some breakfast, they both headed to the intimidating structure that was the massive Pokemart of Celadon and took the elevator to the thirtieth floor, knowing that's where the pet shops and adoption shelters were. Upon looking around, they both noticed quite a long string of empty buildings, giving both of them pause before they walked into a shelter, seeing several clipboards in alphabetical order with multiple sheets on each one. They figured multiple trainers would give up Zubats, but with multiple of each pokemon, even those not part of the Kanto Region, it was staggering. They heard some footsteps and saw a middle-aged man in scrubs look at them.

"You both looking to adopt a pokemon?" was all he asked, to which both of them nodded and were promptly given applications to fill out, to which they both did in record time. After handing the applications in, they were both lead to the back and were met with the sights and sounds of multiple different pokemon, causing them to see the gravity of improperly treated pokemon and pokemon that were abandoned just cuz they 'weren't strong enough'. It truly was a sight to behold, and neither of them could imagine that many trainers just giving up on pokemon that needed some further nurturing to succeed.

After some looking around, the female saw a Jigglypuff and just looked at him with dreamy eyes, leaving Flame to keep looking around. He saw Eevees, more Charmanders, some Pikachus, but overall, they weren't what he was looking for, despite the pit in his stomach over just how many there were. Then he saw the Chikorita, looking just as happy as can be, but in obvious need of sunlight due to the wilted leaf on it's head. When he read the chart, he saw that the Johto starter was a she, and that she had no nickname. He looked back to his companion, seeing her squeeze the Jigglypuff as if it were a stuffed animal, giving the pokemon a pained comical look more befitting a cartoon.

"Uh... Thunder... I think you're hurting Jigglypuff..." Was all he said before she gasped and eased up, much to the relief of the pokemon, allowing him to look back at the Chikorita. Then, he nodded, knowing that his Charmander would be a great companion for her, as well as work great later on in doubles matches, since Charmander could learn Sunny Day for the grass pokemon to keep spouting out Solar Beams. Currently, she needed some much needed tender loving care, and that is what he knew most.

After signing more papers and getting the balls to hold their new partners, they both nodded and decided to check out the Trainer's Floor for healing items and maybe some pokeballs. Once the elevator doors opened, they were swamped by many young and old trainers, clamoring around as if the stock market crashed... again. A quick survey, and they saw that the entire floor was not stocked with potions, antidotes, or pokeballs, much to their dismay. They decided it was a waste of time and headed back out to the streets and spend the day at the park, letting their various pokemon get to know one another. Flame relaxed on a bench next to Thunder, watching his Charmander and new Chikorita get acquainted.

"You know... more people should value berries... nature grown and everything." Thunder commented while watching her Cubone, Growlithe, Pichu, and new Jigglypuff play a bit.

"I know what you mean, but with the increased populace of trainers, it probably has Silph in a bind. Even Oak is in all kinds of stress. Population Booms aren't great, since it ruins the economy. Silph can't keep up production to satisfy the new trainers' needs, thus, it's a golden opportunity when the stores get what they can. Makes training harder for everyone."

"At least we got some new friends."

Flame only nodded as he saw his two pokemon play with one another, with little more than a care in the world. There was alot of troubles going on and the pokemon probably didn't care, or took joy in the here and now over worrying what the future might bring. It was a good way to look at things in that perspective. However, they noticed that they were getting a little hungry, so Flame prepared a meal for both his and Thunder's companions, then sat back and watched the clouds overhead. If only life were this simple, but he reminded himself of his goal, beat the Elite 4 and become Champion. Many others shared his dream, but few would be able to achieve that goal.

He was brought back to reality at the setting sun, nodding to his pokemon and decided to head to the Pokecenter. Thunder decided to check out the boutique for fragrant ideas that might make Cubone look cuter, so he went by himself. The walk back was short, and it allowed him to think a little on his plans. He had a Kanto Starter, and a Johto Starter, both of which were fast friends. It'd take awhile for the Chikorita to be at full physical condition, despite Nurse Joy's treatments. Pokemon physical appearances were always a reflection of their state of mind, and while happy, the Chikorita had alot of work ahead to be at her best. After handing over his two pokemon, he went back to the double bedroom and crashed, needing the sleep.
