It was silent for a minute, then Sam broke the silence. "So, what stations do you like?" "What?" Ethan replied with a giggle. "You know, radio stations. I want to listen to some music!" "Oh, umm, you choose." "Alright." Sam reached for radio's knob and tuned into a station that was playing some pop music at that moment. "Hey, isn't that the new place that everybody's been talking about?" Ethan asked while peering out the window. "Yeah it is, I haven't been there yet. You?" "I haven't but I've been dying to! I think we found our lunch spot!" Ethan parked the car and the two went inside to the new diner. As they walked through the doors, they were greeted with delicious smells of all kinds. Sam licked his lips and gave Ethan a tight side hug. "Thanks for taking me out for lunch, I can already tell it's going to be great, especially with you." The Lion sad with a smile on his face, and they started walking toward an empty table for two. Ethan blushed and softly replied, "No problem." That felt nice... Ethan thought to himself and chuckled. Sam grinned and asked, "What are you laughing at?" "Hmm? Oh nothing." The fox replied with a smile. They seated themselves and exchanged shy smiles while Ethan nervously adjusted himself in his squeaky chair. Suddenly they were greeted by their waitress, a beautiful young tigress. "Hello, and welcome to Dixie's! My name is Tyra and I'll be your server today. Can I get you anything?" The perky tigress said as she handed the two their menu's. "Everything looks so good." Sam said as he licked his lips and Ethan nodded in agreement. The tigress giggled before asking, "May I recommend their cheeseburgers? They're pretty good, here." "Sure, that sounds good." Sam excitedly said. "Alright, so one cheeseburger, and for you sir?" Tyra looked at Ethan. His face lit up with a smile, but then it faded away "Umm... I'll just have a salad and some water if you don't mind." The tigress scribbled onto her notepad. "Will that be all for you gentleman?" "Yes, thank you." The nervous fox said softly. Sam gave Ethan a worried look before saying, "A salad?" Ethan sighed. "Look, it's embarrassing." "What is?" Ethan looked up at the handsome lion and saw a look of genuine concern. He gave another sigh. "Well... I've been trying to lose weight..." Ethan's face turned red as his ears drooped. Sam grinned and gave a chuckle. "What? You look
great!" "No I don't, look... I just..." The fox started to tear up. Sam stood up and stood beside his sobbing friend. "What are you doing?" Ethan asked. "Proving that I like you just the way you are." Sam hoisted the sobbing fox up. "I don't understand..." Ethan softly said. "Then let me show you." Sam said even softer and gave Ethan a kiss. He was shocked and confused, but didn't want it to end. He hugged the lion tightly. After what felt like a year, the fox broke away and looked around him. Everyone is staring. That was the only thing the still sobbing fox could think of. He looked back at Sam, who was still holding him. "What's wrong?" Sam said. "I..." The overwhelmed fox fainted and the last thing he saw was a handsome lion reaching out to him.- - - Continued in Part 3
