The Fox, His Wife, and the Hound
While browsing through FurAffinity a month ago, I came across this artist named Angelo-Falls, and two drawings they made that depicted a Fox & the Hound AU that not only depicted the main characters as anthros, but with Tod and Vixey in a polyamorous triad with Copper, a hunter. If you wanna see the artwork that inspired this short fanfic, you can see the attached artwork and check out the links below. Angelo-Falls is an extremely talented artist who deserves more attention!

The Appalachian Mountains could be seen from the farmhouse windows. With the incoming sunset, they looked beautiful and alight, almost heavenly. Just several miles of trekking or a half hour of driving in an old jalopy could get you to the base of a range that stretched all the way from Northern Pennsylvania all the way down to the Deep South. Despite its close proximity to several nearby towns though, the farmhouse owners had no trouble feeling like the only two foxes on Earth.
At least, until the sound of a chugging pickup truck cut through the outdoor noises of chirping birds and evening crickets. A very familiar sound, indeed.
“Is that Copper, dear?" Vixey called from the kitchen pantry.
The front doorbell chimed just as Tod set down the dinner plates. Wearing a blue plaid shirt he saved for special occasions (like anniversaries, or town festivals, or in this case, welcoming a loved one back home) Tod felt his tail immediately start to wag against his mahogany pants. He recognized the nose, and a smile beamed across his crimson muzzle.
“Think so, honey!" he spoke. “I've got it!"
Tod hurried out of the kitchen straight to the entrance door, opened it to reveal a figure approaching the front porch. The bloodhound wore a brown hunting jacket and a dark green t-shirt beneath, along with dirty blue jeans that Vixey never stopped insisting he replace (no matter how comfortable they were or how torn the denim fabrics were at the knees). The moment that Tod swung the screen door open, he didn't wait, stepping out to pull his childhood friend and lover into a mighty hug that sent the taller canine a few steps backwards.
“Woah, easy there, Tod!" Copper laughed while patting the scrawnier canine's back. “It's only been a couple months. It's not like I've been gone forever!"
“Oh, I know!" Tod chirped, then inhaled the hunter's musk in the crook of the hound's neck. He felt Copper do the same. They pulled away to stare happily into each other's eyes. “How's Chief doing?"
“Eh, he's still not fond of the home, but he doesn't mind the cute nurses," he said, giving a shrug and then a smirk. “Chief insists I bring him back to visit the cabin at least once before winter. Claims he still has a lot to teach me about hunting. I think he just misses the lifestyle. Oh, he also told me to tell ya he says hi. And to not, and I quote, 'plant soy beans like you did last year. You're a fox. Focus on feeding your livestock instead of eating them'."
Tod wagged his tail at the snide remark. “Can do," he said, rolling his eyes.
Copper also rolled his eyes, laughing with the red fox. It was a peaceful evening. Somewhere, a hooting owl caught the attention of their sensitive ears, only for them to look back at each other. The two canines smiled, leaned in close, and were only able to gently peck their lips before a feminine voice called out from behind the shut screen door.
“Boys, dinner is ready!"
The two of them blushed fiercely, patting their stomachs after there was a collective growl. “You hungry?" Tod asked, holding onto one of the handsome hound's paws as they strapped inside. “I met you missed regular cooking."
“Missed it?" Copper lowly chuckled. “If I had to eat another ration of beef jerky tonight, Tod, I was gonna go crazy!"
“We figured." Tod smiled as his tail brushed repeatedly against the hound's tired legs. “So, I helped Vixey make some of your favorite."
Copper sniffed the air with his nose and stopped dead in the foyer to let out a hungry moan. “Wait, is that…what I think it is?" he asked, discarding the toothpick he'd been chewing.
“Yep, mountain chicken meat loaf and skillet corn, with biscuit buns and potato soup!"
His smaller tail wagged fiercely, and drool formed on his lower jaw. “You spoil me rotten, you two!"
Copper wrapped the smaller fox into a side-hug, licking the side of his cheek and pecking it just as a female fox emerged from the kitchen. She wore a cute beige t-shirt and looked just as beautiful as the day when all three met each other for the first time.
“Welcome home, Copper!" She leaned up to peck him on the cheek, then pull him into a hug. “Tod and I missed you so much! How did the trip go? How's Chief? Is he okay?"
“One thing at a time, Vix," Copper laughed, hugging her back and mirroring her and Tod's bright smiles. “I'm starved. And we got all night to tell each other everything that's been happening these past couple of months."
The next hour seemed to go by in a lightning flash. So much time was spent eating, catching up, and enjoying the moment. Suppertime felt like a high school reunion, with laughter and tall tales and nostalgia shared along with delicious food. It filled the kitchen like a steamy fog of tasty, homemade cooking. Nobody could get enough and yet everyone had enough time to enjoy each other's presence after what felt like so long.
Three voices talked a mile a minute at once as glasses clinked and silverware sliced through morsels. It had only been two months and yet it felt like years to Vixey and Tod, especially to the latter. The farming fox couldn't even stop himself from appreciating the simple act of caressing the hunting dog's paw on top of the patterned table cloth between them. Vixey noticed her boys trying to be subtle about it throughout their shared conversations and couldn't help but smirk.
Eventually, everyone was full after dessert—a freshly baked apple pie, based on a sacred recipe from Widow Tweed, Tod's closest neighbor and one of his motherly figures growing up. All three canines devour the heavenly dessert within minutes after it had cooled down on the windowsill. Neither Tod nor Vixey felt like they could have another bite of their slices, but copper happily volunteered to eat the rest of it, eager to taste not only the recipe again but I also enjoy some of Vixey's pie.
Speaking of which, she wasn't the only one to notice tension in the air. Every once in a while, midway through a conversation while putting dishes away, Tod's eyes would dart at Copper's crotch and tail when the hound wasn't looking. The feeling was mutual too. Harsh blushing gradually crept up their cheeks until eventually, all three canines simply stared at each other once the kitchen had been cleaned. Nobody needed to say anything. They simply shared a look they'd all come to recognize as want and need.
“Race you?" Tod suggested with a grin.
“Hell yeah!" Copper already bolted for the staircase.
“Careful, boys!" Vixey called out to them, then gave an exasperated sigh. “You two…"

The king-sized mattress in the master bedroom, held in a carved frame and adorned in rustic sheeting and a blanket, easily swallowed up Vixey as she watched her husbands kiss. She couldn't look away at the incredible display of affection the two men shared in front of her. The way they roughly grasped each other's arms and tenderly pressed their handsome muzzles together started an itch between her legs, and the blushing vixen didn't hesitate to start scratching at it, panting all the while.
Any normal wife out there would have felt anger. They would've felt betrayal. However, Vixey didn't match the mold so easily. Since the day that she first met and fell in love with Tod, he'd been honest about his love for the charming, friendly hunting dog that he'd known since their youth. She'd also witnessed Tod dealing with the internal conflict of trying to choose between a man and a woman. Luckily for the fox, he didn't need to make a choice after everyone eventually sat down for a long conversation together. There were revealed emotions and plenty of tears shared and shed, but by the very next morning, something beautiful had been born between all three canines. And after a few years, the unique relationship they forged together stayed stronger than ever.
Tod lost himself in Copper's kisses, and so did the hound. The outside world turned into radio static as their dexterous tongues danced together, tails wagging behind them and calloused paws clutching each other for support. Their heated bulges pressed, then rubbed against the other as they let out vulnerable moans of breath. Tod stared into his husband's eyes with shrouds of lust in his, and Copper did the same. The fox tasted like smoke and fresh coffee. To Tod, the hound tasted like fresh beef jerky and pine, with a hint of wild berry.
A certain vixen cleared her throat, and they smiled bashfully at seeing Vixey wear nothing at all atop their bed. Their hearts wouldn't stop pounding in their chests. One wanted to kiss the other a while longer, but the other exchanged a mischievous lick of his jowls with his husband. They turned to wink at her. Tails wagging behind them, Tod and Copper discarded the rest of their clothes and descended upon the shivering, crimson-and-cream-furred female.
Their cocks trailed pre along her thighs as they crawled up on each side of her, leaving kisses along the way. Tod habitually left sharp but tiny love bites from her inner left thigh all the way up her slender stomach and straight to the left nipple on Vixey's rising and falling breast. His fingers lovingly groped her right nipple as well, squeezing and holding it in sweaty palms. When his tongue met the creamy hard nub, and he started switching between intense suckling and loving nibbling, it drove her wild. Especially whenever he pinched.
“Oh, oh my!" she whimpered. “Oh, Tod! Tod, that's…ngh, ah! Ohhhhgg!"
Meanwhile, Copper left trails of intense, slobbery kisses from the crook of Vixey's trembling neck all the way down her chest and to the torso that led to her beautiful folds. He exhaled hot breath over her entrance and then slowly inhaled its feminine heat. Then, Copper remembered his training and recited the alphabet while his tongue went deep between her legs. As a result, Vixey started speaking in tongues. Copper smiled at how he brought her pleasure, using one paw to reach up around and toy with Tod's posterior while grasping onto their wife's trembling thigh for support.
“Keep going, keep going," she whispered repeatedly, biting her lip as the hound's dexterous and flexible tongue spread her flower. “Ooooh, Cop! Copper, ngh! Ahhhhmmfh…Mmmmnn…"
Pulling his muzzle back for air, exhaling over the quivering vulva, Copper leaned in one more time to give her leaking folds a sweet nose kiss, smiling up at the sight of his husband making out with their lovely wife. They both looked so beautiful in the nightstand's lamp glow, their ivory and scarlet fur glistening from the gentle spotlight. When Vixey's eye wandered down to Copper, her paw grasped his on her thigh, encouragingly pulling him up to scoot up beside the two foxes. Copper happily did so and began deeply kissing Tod the moment he broke away for air. Then, Vixey did the same, and finally, all three shared in a magical ménage à trois of tongues and shared lips.
At one point, Tod's fingers enclosed around Copper's manhood. He blindly but boldly stroked it from tip to bass while occasionally caressing the dog's musky, heavy scrotum. Torn between intensely kissing his fox husband and letting him kiss their vixen's neck in feverish passion, Copper instead leaned his for head into Tod's left shoulder, licking it and thrusting his hips against that firm grip. He didn't just let the fox give him a handjob; he fucked those fingers, soft yet strong and slightly calloused as the stroked his hard shaft like a familiar friend.
Copper recalled many nights before Vixey showed up into their lives, when the enthusiastic fox would sneak over to visit him on Chief's old property back when they were curious teenagers. Safe in a abandoned tool shed and hidden away from the world's judgment, they found many different ways to explore. Some of these methods or spectacular enough to drive each other wild, sometimes quickly over the edge. At the moment, it wasn't something Copper wanted just yet.
“Mmmm, wait!" He shifted back, pulling his throbbing cock from those velvet fingers, and just in time. Several more strokes and the hound would've erupted all over that experienced paw.
Tod looked at Copper with concern in his eyes. Vixey did too, pausing her moans at first. However, that soon dissipated back into lust the minute Copper pulled the fox closer to his dick by his soft, massive tail.
“Hehe, eager, are we?" Tod teased him, and shifted himself between the hound and their wife, already panting at what was to come. “Let me guess, the magazines and your left paw weren't enough for you?"
“You spend a while two months away from your spouses," Copper sad as he lifted that bushy tail up and leaned it down at the unobstructed view, “and you tell me how long dirty pictures will be good enough…"
“That's not fair," Tod tried teasing the hound again, “I paid good money for that magazine just for you and I think there were plenty of—Awwwwooooooohhh~!"
Tod happened to be talented with his fingers. Copper happened to be talented with his muzzle. Thoroughly devouring his clean tail hole with his maw and flexible tongue, Copper ate out the cocky fox and heard his moans echo around to the bedroom like a symphony orchestra. Vixey giggled at our husband's comical expression, whispered her love for him, murmured it to the hound over his shaken shoulders, then begged for the fox to fill her.
Tod didn't need to be told twice, not once his erection transformed into rigid stone and stayed incredibly hard as it entered her. Their moans coincided like a duet as he deflowered her spread folds, the natural lubricant already provided by a certain hound also lubricating his backside. His tongue penetrated and made love to Tod's backside, nuzzling his muzzle against both blushing red cheeks as his appendage spread and adventured around the tight entrance. Sometimes, his tongue would explore far enough to push that button deep inside the fox that would cause him to yelp in extraordinary pleasure. Sometimes, Copper tested how hard his tongue would resist his fellow canine's tightness, each paw spreading those red-and-white-furred globes open for easier access while also kneading them like a feral cat giving attention. Either way, Tod wouldn't stop waving his tail high in the air. Then again neither would Copper.
Finally convinced that his husband was ready and seeing him continuously gyrate his hips back-and-forth inside the deliriously moaning vixen under him, Copper licked up his crack and along his fox's shivering spine. He left small kisses and growled love bites that did little to slow the enthusiastic thrusting. If anything, it motivated him further.
Copper lined his painfully hard erection up with the fox's tailhole. To his credit, Tod did slow down enough for his hound husband to properly enter, only to quickly begin enjoy being between his spouses a little too eagerly. Overcome with lust himself, relishing his fox's velvet entrance while holding him, and one paw grasping Vixey's, Copper couldn't help pounding faster. His slutty husband even encouraged it by thrusting back onto that aching shaft each time he pulled away.
Copper growled in dominance. “You're asking for it!"
“Ahhhh!" Tod yelped at feeling his hound's jaws lock around his neck. Like a light switch, he moaned submissively. “Oh, fuck! C-Copper—Ahhhhooooooh, mfh! Ah! Ah!"
He then moaned like a fox had never moaned before, thrusting in and out of his wife while impaling back and forth onto his husband's cock. He was in Heaven, between the woman he married and the man they loved and drank in every sensation in his memory could commit; his wife's drooling kisses, his husband's teeth locked around his neck, the tongue licking at its back, the way Vixey's pussy enveloped his pulsing member, how he clenched around Copper's handsomely welcomed cock beneath his thrashing tail, the way his balls pleaded for release…and they did.
Whether it be shared minds or a mere coincidence, all three canines howled through a synchronous orgasm. Vixey arched her back in delight, coating Tod's member in her cum while he filled her with his, and behind him, Copper unlocked his jaws and howled to the Moon. The drained hound couldn't hear Tod shuddering in ecstasy, but he felt it, especially as he collapsed atop the handsome fox, who shifted so as not to crush their wife beneath them.
Everyone lay panting and tired and sore all over. Nobody wanted to move a muscle. They were likely going to need to sleep in for a bit to deal with sore muscles in the morning, but neither of them cared. Instead, Tod and Copper cuddled closely to the glowing Vixey, who tenderly wrapped her arms around tail around her men, then exhaled in satisfied bliss once she felt them rest their panting, licking muzzles between her neck and breasts. They could likely hear her heartbeat as it continued racing for miles. She could feel their hearts beat rapidly against her slender, cum-stained chest.
“I'm gonna need to change the sheets…" Vixey murmured.
Tod chuckled, yawning. “In the morning…"
“Agreed." Copper yawned as well, his smile never fading for a second. “Love you both, by the way. It is good to be home."
The pair of foxes each smiled brightly. The each murmured their unique 'I love you too's to Copper, who responded with slobbery kisses. Then, the fox, his wife, and the hound slowly began to close their eyes, and drifted off to an enchanted sleep.
