Chapter 8 - Meet the Family
Trevor and Tod introduce themselves to their parents.
Still kind of in the idea stage, but got some good dialog and plot
Trevor and Tod have been together for a while now and they realize that they still haven’t told either of their parents. They tell Trevor’s parents first, and while they don’t like the idea, they grow on it in the few minutes that follows as Trevor explains how Tod means a lot to him and that micros aren’t anywhere near as bad as other furs think they are. Micros are just trying to survive in a harsh world that wasn’t designed for them. They don’t tell Trevor’s parents just yet where exactly Tod’s parents dwelling is in their house. The pair decide that they might not take well to that just yet.
Might split meetings into two chapters
For the meeting with Tod’s family, Trevor decides to play a joke, but doesn’t tell Tod. They get to Tod’s home, and when Tod's parents, Harold and Felicity come out to meet Trevor, he takes Tod and puts him into his mouth. Tod comments that he was terrified at first, but that it was nothing like the night he was high. Trevor was being extremely gentle and he never felt safer even for where he was. He was brought back to reality with Tod’s parents screaming with their little voices and begging for mercy. Trevor opens his mouth slightly and Tod gets the message. Tod uses his strength to fake opening Trevor’s mouth. He jumps out and comes to their aid. His parent’s hug him and They are crying.
Tod says, “Mom! Dad! I’m so sorry you had to be put through that. This was not the plan that we had discussed to meet you two. This big lop here doesn’t know what it’s like for us.” His parents continued to cry and back away.
Trevor looks a little heartbroken again.
Tod goes back over to Trevor and tells him to just go back to his room and give him some time alone. Tod comforts his parents and finally gets to the point to tell them about his relationship with Trevor. His parents are flabbergasted that he would go out with such a fur that just did something as horrible as what was done like that. Tod explains that he and his pranks can be a lot to handle, but that Trevor makes him happy and he wouldn’t trade his companionship for anything.
Just then they hear Trevor outside the entrance to their home in the wall under the desk. Trevor in a quiet and emotionally strained voice says, “Excuse me? Tod? I – I’m sorry about earlier. I don’t know what I was thinking when I tried that stunt.” I would like to start over.”
Tod followed by his parents went out of their home to try to meet Trevor again. Trevor looks nervous this time. “Hi, I’m Trevor, Tod’s mate.” He states. He sticks out a slightly shaking paw and slowly Tod’s parents approach and do their best to shake his hand. “Again, I’m so sorry about earlier. I wasn’t thinking that kind of thing might be traumatic for you guys.”
Tod’s parents finally find their voices. Tod’s dad starts, “Thank you for apologizing. I have to say I have never met someone in this manor before. In time, maybe we can become acquaintances. It would be an advantage to have a fur of larger size to take care of us after all.”
Felicity chimes in. “Yes, maybe you could make it up to us.”
Trevor starts to find this situation interesting, but decides to play along.
Harold continues, “If you are going to be dating my son, there has to be some rules in place.”
Trevor is laying down on his stomach, with his head near the ground. “Rules? What kind of rules?” Trevor asks.” Tod’s dad walks directly up to Trevor and starts, “Well for starters, please never pull a stunt like that again.” Trevor interrupts the flow. “Never again. I learned my lesson.”
Harold continues, “Well… Good, now, next, ...
This continues for a few more lines, with Tod’s family eventually commanding Trevor to do simple things. This gives his parent’s the sense of control and calms them down from the ordeal earlier. They start to warm up to Trevor. At Harold's command, Trevor picks them up and takes all of them back to his room to talk in a more comfortable place. Tod, Trevor and his parents discuss how they met. The chapter fades out in discussions.
