Moon looked around; she couldn’t help but blush as she noticed everyone staring at her. Some nodded approvingly, while others looked confused. She was wearing her wedding band, the bracelet clinked against her scales every once in a while, and Qibli was standing right next to her. She looked over at him, and followed he smiled at her.

“You want to dance?” He asked.

Moon nodded, and they walked out into the middle of the ballroom. Both dragons were unfamiliar with the music, so they followed the lead of the others around, and soon fell into a rhythm. They danced for what felt like hours, Moon staring into Qibli’s eyes, and feeling her heart beat widely. Suddenly, Qibli’s eyes flashed behind her, and she turned to see a white-eyed hivewing dragoness dancing with another hivewing. Moon looked around for Michael, but didn’t see him, she turned back and focused her powers on the hivewing.

This place is better than I ever imagined, I can’t believe Hornet asked me to come here, if only he knew…

Moon blinked_, she seemed completely normal, how could she be summoning titans?_

The hivewing looked over and noticed Moon.

A nightwing? What is a nightwing doing here? And who is she dancing with? What is he?

Moon quickly looked away, and shared a small nod with Qibli.

“Is it her?” He whispered.

“Maybe.” Moon replied. “I don’t know.”

Is she like Clearsight? Can she see the future? Maybe see what I’m doing?

Could this be her? Moon thought, she seems to be freaking out.

Should I talk to her, maybe say hi? Yeah, I’m going to do that.

Moon led Qibli off the dance floor and over to the bar for drinks.

“She’s coming, act cool.” Moon whispered.

Sure enough, the white-eyed hivewing and her partner, Hornet, walked up to them.

“Hi, I’m Misty, named after my eyes of course.”

“Moon, and this is Qibli.” Moon introduced them.

“I’m Hornet.” The other hivewing smiled.

“If I may ask, what are you?” Misty turned to Qibli.

“I’m a sandwing.” Qibli smiled his usual prideful smile.

“I’ve never met a sandwing before.” Hornet replied. “Your barb is cool.”

“Thanks.” Qibli replied.

“Are you like Clearsight?” Misty asked.

“In some ways, yes.” Moon replied.

So, she can see the future, I need to speed up my timetable.

Moon turned to look for Michael again, and spotted him talking with a hivewing on the other side of the room.

Michael!

Michael’s head snapped up and looked over at her, Misty’s eyes followed Moon’s and noticed Michael.

He’s here! Of all places, she must be working with him, I need to get out of here.

“Hey, I heard there’s two full moons tonight.” Hornet cut in.

“Really, Moon was born on one of those.” Qibli replied happily.

“Ooh, I want to go check it out.” Misty replied, and dragged Hornet away.

“That was… strangely tense.”

Follow them! Michael spoke, and Moon took off.

Qibli followed, and they made their way out a side entrance. Moon spotted two shapes in the distance, and they took flight to follow them.

“What a fun thing to do on our honeymoon.” Moon smiled

Qibli smiled back. “Wouldn’t want anything less.”

“You adrenaline junkie.”

Sunny regretted ever telling Starflight to drink. He had danced with her for the last few hours, then suddenly needed to stop. Now he was leaning heavily against her, nuzzling her happily while they watched the ball. Blue was standing next to her, with Cricket asleep on his back. Luna and Swordtail were still dancing, and they were waiting for them to finish, since Moon and Qibli had already disappeared. Sunny had seen Carnados rush off in a hurry someplace, but Michael was still there, keeping a close eye on them. After another hour, the ball ended and the two silkwings joined them.

“That was fun!” Luna spoke, panting heavily.

“Yeah.” Cricket mumbled faintly.

Sunny chuckled, and looked over at Starflight, who had gotten up and was stretching.

“Ready?” She asked, and he nodded.

They quickly walked home; Starflight looked like he was going to pass out at any second. They finally made it inside of the house, and Cricket suddenly perked up. She climbed off of Blue and quickly dragged him away. Starflight had walked down their hall, so Sunny bid Luna and Swordtail a good night and followed him. She found him lying sideways on the bed, and laughed.

“Sunny!” He cheered. “My beautiful wife.”

Sunny blushed. “Your weird when your drunk, you know that?”

“Am I?” Starflight thought for a moment. “Do you like it?”

“Yes, actually.” Sunny replied.

“Good.” Starflight smiled.

“You’re always the bookworm and caring librarian, and I love that about you, but I also like to see the brave side of you sometimes.”

Starflight punched the air. “I can be brave.”

Sunny chuckled. “Yes, you can.”

Starflight laid his head back on the bed.

“Star?”

“Mph?”

“You really don’t mind if I ask you questions while your drunk?”

“I’m an open book, especially for you sweetie.” He smirked.

“How do you really feel about dragonets?”

“I teach them, some are nice, some aren’t.”

“No silly, us, how do you feel about us having our own dragonets.”

Starflight beamed. “I can’t wait to raise little ones. I want to hold their little faces, and cuddle them.”

“Is that how you really feel.”

Starflight looked over at her. “Of course, I want to teach them everything, and I want them to look like you.”

Sunny blushed heavily. “What about the whole Fatespeaker thing?”

“Sunny, were married, I chose you, I will always choose you. I want to stay with you.”

Sunny smiled. “One more question.”

Starflight groaned. “Come on, let’s skip to the fun.”

“Are you okay?”

Starflight paused. “Of course I’m okay.”

“Somethings been bothering you lately, and even though you try to hide it, I can still tell.”

Starflight sighed. “It’s nothing.”

“C’mon, I know that’s not true. Open book, remember?”

Starflight looked away, then turned back to her.

“I have been feeling a little off lately, and I can’t seem to explain it.”

“Off how?”

“Tired more, but I don’t want you to worry about me.”

“That makes me worried, but you should tell me this stuff”

“It's likely just stress and me overworking myself.”

“Then you should rest.”

“Nah” Starflight smirked and looked over at her. “Now is for fun time.”

Sunny rolled her eyes. “Alright.”

Sunny woke when Starflight set her on the bed and rushed into the bathroom. She opened her eyes and looked over just as she heard him throwing up. Reluctantly, she got up to check on him.

“You okay?” She asked.

“No.” Starflight replied in between gags.

“I’m sorry.”

“What for?”

After a few minutes, he finished, and sagged onto the floor.

“Let’s get you something to eat, bread, lots of bread.” Sunny replied

They walked out into the kitchen, and noticed that Cricket wasn’t faring any better than Starflight. Blue and Luna were trying to convince her to eat something. Silverspot greeted them with a smile.

“Hey, how’s he feeling?” She motioned to Starflight.

“Like I got hit by a volcano, and I know how that feels.” Starflight replied.

“Have you seen Moon, or Qibli? They didn’t come home last night.”

“They didn’t?” Sunny replied.

“They probably got lost and are still asleep in an ally someplace.” Burnet replied.

“Been there.” Swordtail added.

It took a while before Sunny was able to get Starflight to eat anything, and after he did, he fell asleep against her on one of the couches in the living room.

“So.” Luna spoke, trying to make small talk. “Did you have fun?”

“Yeah, it was nice, I’ve never heard music like that before.” Sunny replied.

“Not really sure where it came from.” Blue told them.

“Probably just appeared naturally.” Luna shrugged.

They were interrupted by the door swinging open. Moon and Qibli walked into the room. They looked tired, still wearing their clothes, and with bags under their eyes. Qibli was hissing in pain, and Moon took him to an empty couch and sat him down.

“Let’s take a look.” Moon told him.

“What happened?” Luna asked.

“We found the dragon Michael was looking for, she took off and we chased her halfway across the continent.” Moon told them.

“Where is she?” Blue replied, curled around a sleeping Cricket.

“We lost her, but she did drop this.” Moon took out a small red rock, and set it on the table nearby.

Qibli lifted his tail, and set it in Moon’s talons. Sunny noticed that his barb was cracked, and it was barely attached to his tail.

“Definetly broken.” Moon told him. “We should cut the broken part off.”

Qibli nodded. “Quickly.”

Moon grabbed the barb. “Ready, one two…” And snapped it off.

Qibli howled, waking Starflight and Cricket and likely the whole city.

“What’s going on?” Starflight yelled.

“Qibli broke his barb.” Sunny told him.

“Oh, why did you do that here?” Starflight turned to Moon, who shrugged.

“I don’t get it, what just happened?” Blue asked.

“Sandwings have barbed tails, and they break them occasionally. It hurts a lot, but they grow back.” Moon explained.

“Oh, like stingers.” Cricket yawned, setting her head back on Blue and closing her eyes.

Qibli hissed again, and Moon kissed him on the cheek.

“It’ll be okay, just relax for a while.”

“Stress and extra movement will make it hurt more and heal slower, and you don’t want it to heal wrong, or you’ll start over.” Starflight told him.

Sunny looked over at him, surprised.

“What?” Starflight blushed. “I learned everything I could about sandwings, for obvious reasons.”

There was silence for a moment, before Moon coughed.

“Uhm, yeah, so were going to be taking it easy at Wasp hive I guess.”

“I think I need to lay down for a while.” Qibli muttered, before stumbling out of the room.

Tsunami groaned as she landed back at her room, the last few days had been nothing but non-stop action, and she felt completely drained. The Pantalans seemed super energetic, especially the silkwings, and Tsunami could not keep up. Riptide was laying on the bed, he choose not to go today, so he could cover for her tomorrow.

“How was it?” Riptide asked.

“Horrible, the instructors led us all over the hive, so much walking.” She groaned. “This would be a good place to honeymoon, if we never had to do that.”

Riptide brightened. “So you’ve thought about it?”

“I have, and I agree. I love you, and you love me, were getting married, it’s just the point of when. If we do want to do a honeymoon, which I do because it will no doubt be the last bit of peace before I’m queen, then we should get married a few months before I become queen, and make Sunny the headmaster sooner.”

“Did she ever get back to you?”

“She told me she was going to talk with Starflight during their trip, and make a decision.”

“A decision?”

“Leave, or stay, was all she told me.” Tsunami shrugged. “It’s an important moment in their lives, I’m going to let them do whatever they need to.”

Riptide nodded. “So, should we tell your mother to start planning, she should be here in a few minutes.”

Tsunami groaned. “I forgot she changed the time of the meeting so I could be there.”

As if on cue, there was a knock on the door.

“Tsunami.” Her mother’s voice called. “It’s time for the meeting.”

“You tell her.” Tsunami told him.

Riptide opened the door. “My queen.”

Coral rolled her eyes. “What’s taking so long.”

“Tsunami just got back from the students; they did a tour of the whole hive.”

Coral nodded. “Alright then, I can wait.”

“In the meantime, we have something to tell you.”

Coral’s eyes widened.

“We’ve decided to get married early, so we can have a honeymoon before Tsunami becomes queen.” Riptide told her.

A mix of emotions crossed Coral’s face, btu she eventually shook her head and smiled. “Okay, I’m happy for you.”

“You said you wanted to plan it, go ahead.” Tsunami told her.

Coral brightened. “Finally, a royal wedding.”

“Go nuts.” Tsunami replied.

It only took a couple of minutes for her to get ready, then they made their way to the meeting room. The large hall had many dragons in it, but was mainly filled with a large table set with ten chairs. All the queens were there, and the main leaders of the hivewings and silkwings were in their seats.

“Hello everyone.” Coral called. “We can start now.”

“Who are they?” The hivewing leader asked.

“This is Tsunami, and her mate, Riptide. Tsunami is going to be queen by the time we have our next meeting.”

There was a loud commotion. Snowfall and Glory Smiled at her. Ruby and Thorn exchanged glances, but Moorhern threw up her talons.

“I’ll be the oldest queen in Pyrria.” She exclaimed.

“Don’t worry, it won’t be by much.” Thorn told her.

“Uhm… Congrats.” Snowfall replied.

Tsunami nodded in her direction.

“There will be no discussion, but we can talk about this another time.” Coral cut in. “Let’s move on with our agenda.”

A hivewing stepped forward and opened a book. “We only have four topics today; a new intercontinental trade route, alliance contracts and deals with the ML, a completely fair and just way to elect new royal families for the hivewings and silkwings, if you decide you should do that, and finally, preparations for the coronation of the new leafwing queen, and a new deal about how to go about said coronations.

“New leafwing queen? I’ll be the oldest between the two continents.” Moorhen sighed.

“Princess Hazel will become queen, sooner than expected, I’ve grown tired over the past few months, and need rest.” Sequoia told them.

Tsunami looked over at her mother. “New silkwing and hivewing queens?”

“We should start with that discussion.” Coral called out. “How do we elect new royal lines. Michael has told us that Monarch had one child, a son, but we don’t know who that is. Wasp had no children, and Jewel would be the only acceptable relative, but she refuses.”

“I say we do a vote, we can send word out to all the hives, and have each one choose a handful of people, then we can do a vote out of that group.” Ruby replied.

“That could work, but what if they choose somebody that doesn’t want the job?”

“Like Cricket? She was the first to turn against Wasp, but she refused to be a part of the council.”

“She’s too young, and she wants to stay in Pyrria, it won’t work.” The hivewing leader told them. “But there was no lack of trying.”

“We can try for the vote, who else agrees?” Glory replied.

Everybody nodded.

“Alright, vote it is.”

“What did we need to go over about coronations?” Snowfall asked.

“Well, I was thinking as a way to keep peaceful communications, that all queens attend each coronation. They don’t happen that often, so it won’t be too bad, but it keeps everyone together.” Thorn spoke.

Coral nodded. “Also, considering there are only two definite ones in the next twenty years, that could work.”

“When is Hazel’s coronation?” Tsunami asked.

“A month, two at most.” Sequoia replied.

“In the Dragontail Peninsula?” Ruby asked.

“Yes, that’s where were staying now, the poison jungle is way too dangerous, and we don’t need to stay there any longer.”

“Alright, we can send some supplies, if needed, but we will be expecting a letter about the date.” Ruby replied.

“Of course.” Sequoia nodded.

“Alright, fun stuff out of the way, we need to move to the ML alliance, and intercontinental trade.” Snowfall cut in. “It will likely be brought through my kingdom, so we need to set some rules and laws.”

The queens fell into a discussion, and Tsunami looked over to see Cliff standing next to his mother. Cliff looked bored, but brightened when Tsunami waved at him. He looked over at his mother, who nodded at him, he smiled and ran over to Tsunami.

“Hi.” He whispered.

“Hi Cliff, how have you been.”

“Good, I met my dad, he’s super cool.”

Tsunami looked surprised. “You did?”

“Yeah, he and mom have been hanging out with me, and we’ve been having tons of fun.”

Tsunami looked up to Ruby, and couldn’t help but feel happy for her. She did look brighter than usual, but her official scowl seemed to deepen her anger. Tsunami realized that it was a mask, almost the same one that she had before. She smiled back to cliff, and looked around.

“Mom?”

“Mhm.” Coral turned to her.

“Where are the others?”

“Others?”

“Turtle, Anemone, Auklet?” Tsunami sighed.

“Oh, they’re in the square.” Coral smiled. “You can go, if you want.”

Tsunami motioned for Cliff to follow her, and she walked out of the main meeting room and into the square. Anemone was lying in the pond, Turtle was playing with Auklet, and both rainwings were asleep on the roof.

“Hey.” Turtle greeted Tsunami and Cliff.

“It’s super boring in there.” Tsunami replied. “They’re arguing about where the intercontinental line should go, and through which towns.”

“Yikes.” Turtle replied.

Cliff walked up to them. “Hi, I’m Cliff.”

“I think we met once.” Turtle smiled. “I’m Turtle, over there is Anemone.”

“I’m Auklet.” The dragonet smiled.

The two young dragonets rushed off to play tag, Turtle glanced over at Kinkajou, before turning back to Tsunami.

“How you been?” Tsunami asked.

“Good…. Good.”

“More of, how have you two been?”

“Oh, were good, the others in the Jade winglet act kind of awkward about us, but other than that.”

“Awkward how?”

“Nothing bad, they just think it’s weird, it’s fine, really.”

“Is there something bothering you?”

“No… yes.” Turtle sighed.

“What is it?”

“Mom is still convinced that this is just a phase for both me and Anemone, and keeps pushing me towards some random seawings.”

“She’ll get over it.”

Turtle glanced over at the rainwings, before leaning in closer.

“Don’t tell anyone, but I’m thinking of asking her to marry me.”

“Your still young!”

“Not now! But sooner rather than later. Maybe when we graduate, maybe before.”

“And your worried about mom.” Tsunami asked.

“Not just her, but I think Kinkajou has been having some… problems.”

“Like what?”

“The nightwing that is in our winglet, Bloodshed. He’s been nothing but nice, don’t get me wrong, other than distant and quiet. We’ve had no problems with him, it’s just I think Kinkajou is having a problem because he lived on the island and Moon didn’t.”

“What’s been going on?”

“Her usual bubbly self, it’s been appearing less and less.”

“I noticed that, but I just thought it was because of the new winglet.”

“No, she always loves the chance to make new friends, especially the Pantalans.”

Trice walked into the square, stretched, and yawned.

“Trice!” Tsunami called. “We could use your help with something.”

“I don’t think we should…” Turtle started.

“No, if she needs help, we can help her.” Tsunami cut him off.

“Help who with what?” Trice asked.

“Well… Kinkajou has been acting strange lately.” Turtle told her.

“Strange how?”

“Well, she’s been having these nightmares, ever since Darkstalker rose.”

“PTSD, Post-traumatic-stress-disorder. She likely has two cases, one from her time being captured, and the other from that whole mess.”

“I… I completely forgot about that.” Turtle blinked.

“And if I remember the gossip, Anemone might have put a spell on her to love you?” Trice replied.

“Yeah, but that was removed, and she said she had the same feelings.”

“I think that she might still have some doubt about if those feelings are real. But that has an easy solution; have me or my dad tell her they are.”

“She’s also been, losing time, forgetting things, blacking out. I’m with her for most of these times, and she seems completely normal, but she remembers nothing about them later on.”

Trice frowned. “That’s not good.”

“What is it?”

“She might be wilting, like Glory was.”

“Really? She seems like such a carefree dragon.” Tsunami cut in.

“Past trauma can cause it; it was likely one of the contributing factors for Glory. Wilting is different for everybody, but there have been cases of dragons losing memories. If it gets much worse she might forget major things, or everything.”

“What?” Turtle jumped.

“There have been two cases, where a wilting dragon lost every memory they had, and the only thing they could remember is who their partner is, and that they love them.”

“Were you there?” Tsunami asked.

Trice sighed. “Watching a dragon forget their friends, and who they are. They become reliant on their partner, and usually die within a few months.”

Turtle looked over at Kinkajou with a new worry. Trice focused on her for a moment, before her eyes flashed and she turned back to them.

“Good thing though, that won’t happen to her, she doesn’t have the gene that would do that to her.”

Turtle sighed.

“Rainwings are very special dragons.” Trice added. “I suggest giving her clarity that her feelings are hers, and allowing some peace. If she were older, I would say give her a dragonet, but she’s too young for that. For now, just be there and make sure she doesn’t go into any dark moments.”

Turtle nodded. “I’ve been trying.”

“If you ever notice her scales turning grey, stop everything, make her stop everything, and spend a day or two alone somewhere.” Trice warned. “Grey is a very dangerous color for rainwings, it means that something is wrong, very wrong.”

Turtle nodded again.

“How did you get so good at this?” Tsunami asked.

“Experience and a good teacher.” Trice winked. “Being very, VERY, old helps.”

There was a strange noise, and the three dragons turned to see Kinkajou shivering.

“She’s having another one.” Turtle huffed, before launching himself up to her.

They watched as he silently laid down beside her, and wrapped her in a tight hug.
