As the old adage went, you don't always have to be the fastest as long as you are not the slowest.

Paul huffed and puffed as he ran along the park's path. His office attire was not well suited to this job, but he still didn't intend on being the slowest. His confidence grew as he passed old ladies, oblivious folks perched on the park benches. A couple of plump individuals who he was positive he could leave in the dust. And so he proceeded to do so, running so hard that one dress shoe went flying off in the effort.

Somewhere behind him, there was something massive moving swiftly. Trees shook here and there as she pursued, an occasional glimpse of orange fur flashing between the trees. In the wake of giant paws stomping the ground, a fluffy tail.

There was an unusual entity inhabiting the deepest, heavily wooded part of the park. An old quarry that most locals didn't even know existed, overgrown and long forgotten. Along one of its walls, the entrance of a cave- really, it was a giant sized fox den. The lair of the Dire Vixen. And she had a taste for the strange, erratic little creatures that called themselves Humans. She was studied plenty, but never captured. No test subject would volunteer for the job, so it was decided to simply let nature take its course and observe the results.

Long ago the Humans had recognized her as a deity and offered themselves up readily to be her snacks, even fighting for the privilege. That must have been forgotten now. They ran away screaming from her wide open maw, because the silly beings didn't know what was good for them.

The Dire Vixen's point of view was a much broader one, cosmic in scale. It was actually an honor to become part of a living goddess' body. She would chomp them up, digesting and converting mere mortals into about a gallon of divine vixen milk. Every ounce of their body would be contributed to the swell of her massive teats, sloshing around, mixing, with the others that had been lucky enough to be chosen. A much more important purpose in life than whatever superficial goals they may have taken on.

Paul skidded to a halt down an empty stretch of the path. Hands on his knees, he panted heavily for a time until he caught his breath.

There was no sign of the giant creature as he shielded his eyes and scanned the area. No, of course not. He had passed plenty of people by now. Surely that massive bitch had found another easier target. He had even pushed an old man on a walker over to put more readily accessible meat between him and the hungry vixen. One chomp could swallow anybody whole.

A shadow rose up behind him and he froze in place for a lack of anything else to do. Rigid, only breathing. Waiting as seconds stretched into minutes. And the shadow swept on past him. His eyes lifted to find a cloud sailing along its path. Paul laughed at the stupid mistake. Still high on adrenaline from the close brush with that giant creature. Well, he was still set on absconding from the park and never returning.

Turning about, he found something blocking the path. She had been waiting there, patiently. Paws spread out as she lay just behind him, close enough that he could have reached out and punched the fox's nose. It twitched at him a couple times as the Dire Vixen stood up. Legs carried her high over him, hauling along the giant swollen teats that swayed heavily between her hind legs and pointy with nipples thicker than a man's torso. Those were the only way out of her once a person entered.

She opened wide and tongue lolled, unveiling a slick pink tunnel.

"Yeeeaaaahhh!"

He shouted and breathlessly began to not run so much as flail his body back in the same direction he had fled from. Already he could see the old man and a few fat people he had bypassed- why didn't she eat them?

Because she didn't want to. She wants...

The realization dawned, the only thing capable of slowing him down. Steps slowed with futility and then halted. Now when a shadow came over him, Paul understood that it wouldn't be a cloud this time.

The tongue draped down the back side of his body. Teeth dripping with viscous saliva, glossing the pink interior of muscle and flesh. The soft, sticky lap traveled once up his body while barely swaying him on his feet. No hint was given at whatever taste she might be getting from this, but it was clear she wasn't going to interfere with the meal. It closed in around his head in a warm, firm embrace backed up by her lips.

Once more the tongue descended and this time, scooped him up. The weight of slimy flesh knocked into the back of his knees, tilting him backward to be caught on the undulating tongue. With ease he was reeled and tossed up into the vixen's maw. All that she left on the sidewalk was the single shoe that he still wore, among a darker wet spot left by her lapping. This whole scene had drawn a crowd. They kept their distance, recording the vixen as she tilted her head back and the last vestiges of the man's feet disappeared between her lips.

Arms pinned to his sides, Paul shouted but his voice only echoed in the darkness against fleshy walls. Her throat was a tunnel with an empty promise, only filled by the Humans that she chose to fill it with. He couldn't move well enough to even try and get a grip, though it was pretty obvious from the feel of things that a grip couldn't be found. He could only slide deeper into her.

His wriggling didn't serve him very well, but the vixen found it amusing how the Human continued to struggle seconds before he was due to splash down in her stomach. By the time she was curled up back in her fox den, the man was little more than a gurgle here and there. By the morning time, her teats would be one gallon heavier.

Soon the mating season would be here and she would slip off into one dimension or another, many other worlds which she would help to populate with giant foxes. Thanks in part to the nutritious milk that she made out of Humans like Paul.

A few more Humans would need to be elevated before she was ready. Perhaps tomorrow she'd wander beyond the park and through the city. Maybe poke her nose in a window, drop in on an unsuspecting furry while they were distracted reading naughty stories online.
