Blue rushed over to the table he had reserved. He carefully set out a arrangement of candles and flowers, before nodding and rushing out of the resturaunt. He rushed back to the inn and landed outside their door.

“Can I come in?”

“Of course.” Cricket called back.

He walked in to see Cricket trying to put on her favorite dress. The silkwing rushed over to help her button on the black and yellow fabric.

“Did you manage to get us a table?”

“Yeah, they had one opening.” Blue lied, smirking to himself. “We have a little time.”

“Didn’t Winter say he got a reservation?”

“Yeah, he’s bringing Lynx there too.” Blue shrugged. “But this is about you.”

Cricket giggled, and Blue couldn’t help but gawk at how she looked in that dress. She noticed this and blushed.

“Don’t you have a suit to put on?” She asked.

Blue nodded, and quickly put on the suit. They both walked out of the inn, and made their way to the restaurant. They were quickly ushered in, and set down at the table Blue had prepared.

“Blue… did you do this?” Cricket asked.

Blue smirked and nodded. “Surprise honey, happy valentines day.”

Cricket gasped and smiled. “Blue… you didn’t have too.”

“I wanted you to have a special day, and honestly, I didn’t want to cook.”

Cricket chuckled. “I see, this is a fancy way of doing that.”

Lynx and Winter walked past, and were set at a nearby table. Lynx waved, while Winter smiled and looked away.

“They are adorable, and so sparkly.” Cricket smiled.

“Yes.” Blue replied. “But you outshine everyone in this room.”

Cricket blushed, and the waiter came to take their order.

“A Silkwing Special, and a large steak and potatos, well done, low salt please, and some wine.” Blue told the waiter.

“And what kind of wine?”

“Dark red, the whole bottle. Best you got, price isn’t a worry.” Blue replied.

The waiter nodded and walked away. Cricket sat and smiled at Blue. “Such a gentleman.”

Blue nodded, and smiled. “Well, I wanted to show you a good time.”

“After this, maybe we should start holding off on the wine… for a good while.” Cricket smirked.

Blue turned red, and beamed. “That would be amazing, I can’t wait to start our family together.”

Cricket blushed, and covered her face with her paws. “Let’s enjoy our night.”

A waitress brought the wine, and poured it for them, leaving the bottle. Cricket sipped it, and smiled.

“Very good.”

“Cheers, to our love.” Blue lifted a glass.

Cricket clinked it, and they drank. Blue reached over and grabbed her paw in his, and smiled at him. They shared a light conversation for a while, before their food was brought. Blue was brought a plate of fruits and vegetables, while Cricket was brought her huge steak. She smiled as she dug in, and Blue watched her as he ate his plate. They chuckled a little, and polished their plates. Cricket sat back and stretched.

“Yeah, that hit the spot.” Cricket smiled.

“More wine?” Blue asked.

“Sure.”

Blue poured out the rest of the bottle, and capped it. “Another for the collection.”

Cricket hiccupped. “Yippee.”

“Desert anyone?” The waiter asked.

“What would you recommend?” Blue asked.

“We have some freshly baked silkwing specialties, recipes brought from Pantala. Or if you want a Pyrrhian option, we have special fudges and the best pudding brought straight from the sandwing kingdom.” The waiter replied.

“Let’s have a taste of home.” Blue smiled at Cricket.

“Shared or separate?”

“I like the idea of shared.” Blue told Cricket, who nodded.

“I’ll also get your tab while you wait.”

Blue waved him off, and handed him a pouch of gold coins. “This should more than cover it, take the rest as a tip.”

“Thank you, sir.” The waiter nodded, and walked off.

Cricket smiled, and tapped her tail happily. “You are amazing, you know that. How long did you plan this?”

“A month, Michael gave me the coins, and I passed a few to reserve this place.” Blue shrugged. “Just something I wanted to do for you.”

Soon, a large plate, set with a series of Pantalan deserts. Cricket and Blue both picked off the plate, filling up on the delicious platter, and soon made their way out of the restaurant. As they walked by, they passed their waiter, a skywing around their age. He was nuzzling a female sandwing, who had an egg in her bag strapped around her chest. The Pantalan couple turned and watched as the skywing handed his wife the tip Blue had given him, then saw the smile on her face. The waiter turned and waved at Blue, who nodded and grabbed Cricket, rushing off into the night. He led her down the roads of sanctuary, and brought her to a patch of soft grass.

“What now?” Cricket asked

“Star gazing.”

Cricket chuckled, and fell onto the ground. Blue laid down beside her, and Cricket laid her head next to his.

“They are beautiful.” Blue smiled. “And they look better in your eyes.”

Cricket smiled. “Likewise.”

They were silent for a long while, just cuddling and gazing at the stars. As it was getting close to midnight, Blue turned to Cricket.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.” Cricket replied.

“I could just, live forever here with you.”

“Me too, this sky, you… it’s all I really need.”

“Wanna go back?” Blue asked.

“Sure.” Cricket replied.

They made their way back to the inn, Cricket leaning against Blue.

“Woo, still drunk.” Cricket smiled. “That wine was good.”

As they reached their door, Blue fumbled with the key, and froze as he heard voices. They both turned to see Lynx dragging Winter up to their door, and enter. Both icewings looked immensely hammered, and Winter giggling is a rare sight Blue gets to tell Qibli about later on. He found the key, and unlocked the door.

“Happy Valentines Day baby.” Cricket pulled Blue into a kiss.

“I love you… so much.” Blue replied.

“I love you too, now c’mere.”
