Sixth Floor

Crimson red and amethyst purple blurs scorched through the halls of the sixth floor!

Karly raced towards the closing partition gate, her blazing rage and frustration cooled by the cold air that rushed past her flight.

Bella was on the hawk's tail feathers, adrenaline and urgency pumped through her veins. She had to stop the hawk or else the entire plan would be endangered. Soon, the complex would vent the smoke used to force the infected out of the hidden hallway. Without the protective haze, Chase, Ty and Harriett would fare badly against the avian. It could all end here, but not if she catches Karly — it was all up to her.

But doing so wouldn't be quite as simple as the bat-girl thought. Comparing the two anthro's physical abilities, Karly was the better flier. Whether because of physique, experience, or just plain natural talent — the hawk soared through the halls with speed and finesse Bella could not match. The bat felt the distance slowly growing between them as they weaved and zig-zagged through the labyrinthine corridors. Every precise corner Karly made would take her almost twice as long to complete, struggling with the insane turning speed. She'd need some support.

Bella switched on the walkie-talkie Ginny tossed to her before the bird hunt. “You there Sally?"

After a brief, nerve-wracking silence, a familiar, meek voice popped out of the device. “I'm here!" It relieved Bella to know the polar bear was still safe.

“Alright, I'm gonna need your help with something…"

The thick plume of amethyst up ahead signaled that the two were enroute to the closing gate. Karly zipped into the haze without care for the effects it would have on her circulation. The remaining survivors had to be stopped! Inside, the redbird could still see an opening in the gate. Once past the security camera room, she'd make it through, then Harriett and the others left inside would get what's coming to them…

But suddenly, the door to Room 25 flung wide open! A massive, pearl-white behemoth of an anthro stepped out into the thick smog, paws outstretched and ready to receive the hawk. It all happened too quickly for Karly to react, she was going too fast to change course!

Red and white crashed together as the polar bear bore the avian's impact. The kinetic energy forced the pair onto the slick floor, upon where Karly wrestled against Sally's bear grip. But the fall had opened up Sally's grasp for only a moment, allowing the bird to slip free!

Karly shot back into the air, now left sputtering and wheezing from all the smoke as she hovered forwards. The gate was almost completely shut but still close enough — one last chance!

“Oh no you don't!"

A fierce weight tackled Karly from behind, forcing her back to the slimey floor and pinning her down underneath! Sally's assistance had given Bella the seconds needed to catch up to the speedster. The bat's purple coat blended perfectly with the smokescreen — as if some invisible mass had the red hawk squished underneath it.

“NNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!" Karly screeched as her talons grasped at the shutting gate. But with a resounding *THUD*, the mechanical wall sealed away the hawk's hope at stopping the humans. The rage flared up in Karly like a phoenix, shoving Bella off with her powerful wings. She wanted to claw the bat's eyes out, but the smoke had finally taken its toll. Almost as quickly as she had gotten up, the bird's eyes rolled back as she slumped over, passing out from oxygen deprivation like the many other anthros around her.

Bella was moments away from collapsing herself, the fatigue from the flight-chase compounded with the poor circulation in the fog.

“BELLA…*cough*…I-IN HERE!"

Her large ears twitched as that familiar voice she heard earlier cut through the fog. Back at the door to the security room, Sally beckoned her over. It took all Bella had left to get to safety. Smoke singed her lungs, her sight darkened amidst the purple hue. Just a few more steps…

Security Room

Inside, the two coughed out the rest of the smokescreen after locking the large door behind them. The lingering pollutant was much thinner in here, just about breathable enough.

“T-thanks for the help," Bella wheezed out. Her wings sprawled out flat as she loosened up on the floor, finally able to relax.

A giant shadow loomed over the bat anthro, Sally looked down at her worried. “How're you holding up?"

“I should be asking you that — you really tanked that hit when you caught her!"

“Eheh, I'm fine! Guess I'm tougher than I thought…"

“You think?" Bella sarcastically replied. The pair bursted into a hearty laugh. Blood rushed to Bella's face as she gazed up at the bear. Such a pure, warm smile she had.

The bat was still smitten, or maybe…

Sally yelped as her friend shot up with surprising speed, then backed away from her. Bella now looked at her with fear instead of relief.

“Shit, I-I should've taken another shot before we started…" Bella cursed under her breath.

“What's wrong?" The polar bear asked.

“Eh?! U-uh, well…" Bella sputtered awkwardly, avoiding Sally's concerned gaze. “I-I think my serum's wearing off, I'm feeling different around you. It'd be better to distance yourself from me Sally. I don't wanna risk attacking you."

It hurt badly to push her away like this. But she knew the virus's potency. And since they were stuck in this room till the smoke cleared, if there was any time to give in to one's baser nature — it would be now.

And so it did.

“Sally, what're y-"

The polar bear wrapped her snow white fur around Bella's purple in a tight embrace. It felt warm and pure, just like her smile. The terror of being overwhelmed by lust within the bat faded as peace and calm quickly replaced it. She would stay like this forever if she could.

“I…" Sally paused. Then after a deep breath, opened her heart, “I don't think I'd mind — if it was you."

Lust reclaimed its throne. Her words awakened something deep inside Bella, a feeling once forced down by the artificial hormone blocker…

Without thinking, she pressed her lips into Sally! The couple locked into a deep kiss, letting their partner explore each other's form as fully embraced lust.

“Mhnmmmm~" the bat moaned out as she felt out her mate's curves. Her velvety, white fur complemented the bear's doughy, pliable rump. Bella couldn't help but greedily grasp onto Sally's prime behind, drawing out the ursine's sultry gasps as they continued delving deeper into each other's mouths.

Another expedition was occuring along Bella's body. The bear now worked her claws up from the bat's hips. Cute squeaks slipped out of Bella, Sally had moved onto her boobs. The way they sloshed and squished together in her lover's grasp drew out an erogenous frenzy within the bat-girl! Once done, she slowly marched her claws round Bella's back, reaching over to her folded wings.

Sally was far too curious, since the virus hadn't blessed her with her own pair (granted, it'd look rather strange on her currently). Deep in the passion, She grazed her right paw against the thin membrane subconsciously…

“HHhhHhhuuuuuaaAaaAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!"

Bella couldn't hold back as the heat inside erupted out! The bat's wings flapped wildly, whilst her body spasmed with delight. Only now had she discovered just how sensitive those wings on her back were. A shock to the system, but the electrifying thill was a welcome surprise indeed.

A cheeky grin creeped across Sally's face, “you like that?" She teased. Her other hand moved to the other wing, producing the exact same effect upon the lightest of touches.

The bat nodded furiously, still quaking from pleasure. “Y-YES!" She barked as Sally got behind the vulnerable anthro. She spread her wings further out, just begging for more wingplay.

The ursine was more than eager to reciprocate. While one hand hungrily reached down into Bella's gushing bat-pussy, the other gently stroked along the furry edges of the wings.

The sensual assault drove Bella crazy- no… rabid! Hedonistic moans flooded out her drooling maw almost as quickly as the torrential downpour stemming from Sally's stimulation below. Despite the big paws, the bear worked around with impressive dexterity. They ravaged her insides, coaxing as much lubrication as possible out her canal. Pleasure like this was unimaginable — an impossibility… before now. To her surprise, her paws were already kneading her breasts, stimulating the trickling leakage of her own bat milk.

Sally's warm breath licked at her neck as her panting grew louder. Treating Bella had become her sole purpose — her only desire. Her claws traveled deeper, fingering the bat's cunt faster and breaking free the lust chained up inside!

“G-GAAHHHHHHH!!!!!" Bella screamed as her milk jugs spilt out ropes of thick cream. Sally's final push gave her just what she needed to reach bliss. Her body shook as the climax exploded out of her! The discharge of her love juices dialed up to eleven, gushing out pools of acrid pleasure all around the paws of the lovers. The pothead bathed in the dopamine rush as the orgasm continued reverberating across her whole system. This was the high the furries were chasing? Why they so desperately desired to infect?

Oh, it was good.

Between this and a decent bowl to light, Bella would have a hard time choosing. “ffffuuuuucckkk…" she huffed, “that was… the best sex I've ever had!"

The pair took a breather on a dryer patch of the security room's floor. Bella snuggled nice into the polar bear's coat, however soon she took on a more somber air.

“You alright?" Sally asked.

“Yeah, just thinking about Ginny. She gave herself up for the plan." Bella bore deeper into the bear's hefty, furred bosom, “she's probably been infected — and what about the others? Dammit, I've never been so worried before!"

Sally rustled Bella's hair gently, “I think they'll be alright. After all, you wouldn't have chased after that bird if you didn't believe in them."

Bella's paws gripped her tighter, “I do, but…"

The bear paused for a moment, allowing the warm silence to ease and calm her mate whilst she considered her answer.

“You know, I've kept thinking about what you asked me earlier. 'Are you a completely different person now that you're infected?' To be honest, I still don't have a proper answer. But, I'd like to believe that I am the one who enjoys this time spent with you." The tense grasp on her fur lessened a little. “Sorry, what I'm trying to say is — even if they do get infected, you'll be there to help them through it… like you did for me."

Her words struck a chord in the bat. After everything they'd all been through, fighting and fleeing an inescapable threat — they were united. Keith, Sam, Carmen, Ginny… herself. They each made sacrifices to ensure that the others could escape. Those difficult decisions became the fuel that drove the remaining few's determination. Ty, Harriett and Chase… they would do whatever it takes to make it to the crisis room. Even the first infected, Zane, wished for the group to see that infection wasn't exactly the end — as Bella found out personally. When this was all over, they'd still all be together — nothing would change that. So moping around worrying about everyone won't help anyone, especially whilst they were still stuck inside. The bat's wings felt lighter. Bella peeked up from the polar bear's snow white cleavage with a bright, fanged smile spread across her snout. “Then we'll have to find Ginny fast. She's already crazy, now she'll be crazy and horny." She joked.

Suddenly, Sally smooshed her mate back in between her breasts in a more intimate embrace. Her face switched back to its hungrier, hornier side from their earlier romp. “Speaking of… what's next?" She asked.

The bat gasped for air after popping her head back out. “Ready to go again? How ravenous…" she teased.

A white clawed thumb pointed back to purple haze still settling outside the door. “It's a fun way to pass the time, don't you-"

Bella had disappeared from her chest!

“…think?" Sally said, slightly confused. She could feel the bat traveling lower and lower, what on earth was she-

“OOOOouUuuuuuGghhhhhh!!!!" A ferocious roar-moan escaped Sally's muzzle! Electric pleasure jolted her body awake whilst a pleasing warmth licking and tongued at her moistening nethers. Sally had to part her humongous titties just to see the purple bat giving her oral below. Bella's muzzle latched on, savoring every last drop of Sally's leaking lust. Her tongue drove the bear insane! All attempts to say anything only resulted in a moan, growl or roar bellowing out of her. It seemed Bella wasn't willing to lose in a battle of lesbian loving…

“…B-B-Bella, w-wai- UuOOORrrGgguuHhh!!!! T-tooo… MUCH!!! AaaAAhhHHNnnNnnnn~!!!!!!!"

Crisis Room Hallway

Three orange hazmats descended out the vent into the violet sea below. With the gate shut, any remaining anthros inside needed to be sedated. Chase, Ty and Harriett were meticulous, firing at anything that dared move or moan. Many furs tried to fuck or fight back with them, but under the leash of the haze, none of the animals could get within even a foot of the armed humans.

“Damn, I'm out!" Ty called to the others.

Harriet nodded, “me too…"

“I've still got a few more darts," said Chase. This wasn't a surprise to the other two, he was a better shot than both of them combined, so he held the majority of their remaining ammo supply. Their deadline neared, Ty and Harriett would be counting on him to take out any remaining infected that withstood their attack.

Mechanical whirring sounded from the ceiling of the hallway, followed by the rushing of wind. The purple cloud shot up into the ceiling as the complex's automated ventilation system finally took effect. Within seconds, the hallway was completely empty of Ginny's masterwork, letting the three see the extent of their destruction.

Unconscious anthro's littered the floor. Canines, felines, rodents, avians, reptiles and fishes. Not a single infected was left standing. Even they didn't expect that this many had remained inside. Not all of them had tranq-darts embedding their nude forms, what would've happened if they had all ran out of ammo? Choosing to count their blessings instead, they turned and headed towards the entrance. Strangely enough, the energetic and lively Ty was lagging behind Chase and Harriett.

“D-don't wait for me to catch up!" He panted, “j-just get to the door."

They didn't think it was possible for Ty to get tired. Then again, in this freakish situation — anything could be possible. The vantablack double doors to the crisis room towered over the three humans. To its right, a gray console that a faculty member would need to sign into to open up the door. A whole pile of broken jailbreaking devices sat next to the machine — most likely from the ex-resistance failing to break through the superior technology. Thinking back to the note Harriett wrote to give the others access, the several codes written on the paper would be a dyslexic's worst nightmare! It would probably take some time for her to open the door up…

*clap clap clap clap*

A chill ran through the trio as the slow clap echoed behind them. Upon turning around, they witnessed another nightmare.

“Interesting plan guys~! It almost worked perfectly…" The webbed claws of the cyan shark anthro held together after the last clap. “Too bad you didn't factor us into it." Keith announced, his smug grin as wide as ever!

As he finished, three more anthros rose up out of the piles of sleeping infected scattered around the room. Each pulling from their maws a piece of torn human clothing that must have filtered the smog and kept them conscious.

The horse, Zane, eyed Chase with a sad glance. “Don't make this any harder for yourself, you three."

The hyena, Carmen, roared and bared her fangs at Ty! “NOOO… ggrghhhh… ESCAPE!!"

The sheep, Sam, locked onto Harriett with a naughty look on her face. “I really don't wanna fight! Let us make you feel good..."

Chase immediately primed his weapon, they couldn't fall. Not here. Not when they were so close! “I'm counting on you to protect Harriett, Ty. I'll hold them back." Chase ordered as he walked forward to hold the line.

“No way, I-I'm… I'm fighting!" Ty replied shakily. Was he even more exhausted than before?

“You're out of ammo, how're you going to fight?" Harriett replied.

The jock outstretched his hand to the girl, “you got anymore of that 'serum' thing?" She pulled out a syringe gun and handed it over. He'd need it if any of them got through Chase after all.

“HUH?! Ty!!" She yelled as Ty bolted away from her, syringe in tow! The man was apparently adamant in his determination to fight back their infected friends. All Harriett could do was groan at his stupidity, as she returned her focus to working on the console.

“What're you doing man?" Chase muttered in disbelief as he kept his gun trained on the approaching four.

“I'm saving your asses!" Ty retorted.

Chase's aim dropped as Ty pierced himself with the syringe-gun! He groaned as the lucidity serum coursed through his body. “Sorry. I was planning on telling you two after we opened the door."

“T-tell us… what?" Chase asked.

Ty's orange suit began to bulk and fray apart as new mass hidden underneath pushed through its containment! Golden blond fur pushed its way out of the tears. “That… GGGgggrhhhhGghhh... I-I wouldn't be joining you two inside!" He huffed, “I thought I was fine, b-but Sam got me good back when we were away from you and Harriett. I must've been infected, and.. it's all hitting me now!" He wrenched and buckled as his entire hazmat suit tore apart! Whatever he was wearing underneath didn't survive either, leaving the transforming human as half-skin, half-fur.

Ty was already incredibly chiseled as an athlete, but his muscles desired more. On all fours, Ty roared ferally as his arms and back bulged and thickened with more strength than he could ever hope to achieve, pecs and abs immaculately carved into taut slabs of pristine musculature. Then the changes pushed to his legs, enhancing their tensile strength as they thickened and elongated, tearing the small bands of hazmat that wrapped around his legs. Ironically, all the beautiful muscle definition was soon obfuscated by more golden fur, the thick coat washed over his bulk, from his broad back, to the tips of his new massive, padded fingers.

Retractable claws shot out of his fingers as he let out a moan! His back arched as a new growth pushed out of his behind. Elongating and stretching, a thick cat's tail swayed gently as his moaning subsided.

“Ff-fffuuuckkk… is it… d-done yyett?!" He growled from behind his gas mask. He jolted back, falling onto his supple behind as his body answered. Ty groaned as he watched his boots tear apart releasing huge digitigrade paws from within! Their thick claws dug into the floor as the blond fur wrapped nice around them.

The man-beast was almost completely anthro, save for the goofy gas mask still strapped to his head. As the fur climbed up his thick neck, Ty spasmed out thrusts — the changes had finally hit that region. “GGRRRUghhhguhh!!!" He moaned out as his cock began to stretch and swell. His body began to thrust, mating with some invisible anthro. With each jerk, his shaft grew bigger and bigger! His sac filled and drooped to accommodate his engorging testes. Pre-cum drooled out the tip of his massive three-footer. He was close! And with a deafening roar, Ty's gas mask bursted open…

Exposing the fanged maw of a lion! The virus had changed almost all his facial features save for the fur that rapidly moved to fix the issue. A strong mane of gilded hair poured down the lion anthro's head — a worthy crown for the king of all beasts. He jacked his feline phallus as he came, hosing out liters of infectious seed! Chase was lucky he was behind the beast. After impregnating his imaginary mate, the lion rose up and stood still as a statue.

Harriett dared not look back, no matter how badly the situation was spinning in her head. She needed to work. Don't look back. DO NOT TURN AWAY FROM THE CONSOLE!

Keith laughed as he gazed on at the lion man with clear lusty predation on his face. “If your next plan was a distraction to get us horned up with that wonderful display… well, it certainly worked on me." He teased.

“Ty… please tell me it's still you in there." Chase pleaded, now training his gun on his friend. The lion was breathing deeply. In and out, in… and out. Keith and the others were getting closer, Chase needed to know now — was Ty friend or foe?

“Hahhhh…" Ty bellowed out one last breath, eyes closed. When he next opened them, his sun-gold slits shone with clarity.“Damn straight I'm here!" He had done it — purged his mind of all infectious desire!

Chase couldn't help but laugh. “You're insane Ty, you know that? But, this changes everything. We can stop them!"

“What's the plan coach?"

“We'll switch roles. You keepout the big ones, I'll stop the smaller two from getting near Harriett."

The lion gave a nod, acknowledging his orders. The pair broke into a sprint — Ty ahead, Chase back.

The game was set. Their final stand.

“It's four on two, you don't have a chance!" Keith jeered as the four anthros sped towards the big cat.

“THAT'S ALL?" Ty roared back, copying Keith's toothy smile with a fang-filled smile of his own. “If you wanted to stop us, you should've brought the whole damn horde!"

If only he could. The shark predicted a wide scale attack to drive away the horde, but the humans enacted their plan sooner than they could prepare for. It was pure luck and his quick wit that allowed for one more chance to stop their escape — though Keith would never choose to admit it, especially not to Ty.

Sam and Keith were lighter on their feet, reaching Ty before the two powerhouses. The lion lunged at the sheep anthro, the closer target. But to his surprise, Sam was quick on her hooves, feinting left to cut right in a blurring sidestep that'd give some of Ty's teammates a run for their money.

“Safe!" Sam yelled, too excited to realize she was referencing the wrong sport, as she continued her gallop forward.

“Nice going, superstar!" Keith teased as he rushed past the titan, far out the beast's range.

The lion snarled in annoyance back at him. Not only had he underestimated them, this new bulkier body of his was still foreign. Chasing after the two speedsters would only draw his attention away from his true task bounding towards him.

“Chase~!" Sam exclaimed, bolting straight at the orange hazmat.

Chase fired off a couple darts, but the ovine was too quick! Soon enough they were face to face, Sam's mad eyes pierced through his visor to strike fear into his soul! He ducked under the hoofed hand that shot towards his gas mask. The dart gun in Chase's right hand fired off another round point blank, narrowly missing the anthro's torso as she twisted to his left out of the barrel's firing line…

A successful bait. The human's left held a syringe-gun that he jammed straight into Sam's wooly teat!

“AAGGHH!!!!" The sheep wailed, stumbling back as lucidity serum entered her voluptuous body. The fight settled for a moment as Sam remained hunched over, gripping the punctured tit.

“S-Sam…" Chase panted, “come back to us!"

“I-I'm here… Chase." The sheep girl muttered… before looking back up with the same lust-crazed eyes as before! “I'M HERE FOR YOU!"

“Shit! The serum, IT DIDN'T WORK?!!" Chase bellowed. He hopped back just as Keith snapped his jaws at his former position.

“Of course it didn't!" The shark had waited a long time to meet his friend again, he glared at Chase with the same hungry eyes. “You think we want to be cured of this?"

Zane bellowed a fearful winnie once Ty had a grip on his leg. The lion's roar echoed as he swung the horse anthro round by the hoof, flinging him into Carmen whilst she tried to get away! The wall cracked behind the impact of the two muscular anthros.

Ty returned his defensive position. So far, he had done a good job keeping these two at bay. Zane was completely terrified of him, so he never made any brash moves — but Carmen was still feral, driven only by the need to hunt. She slowly but surely gained ground.

She released a war howl and charged the lion, locking massive arms with the athlete as they grappled. The predators snarled and roared at each other, their muscles tensing and pulsing with every ounce of strength they could muster! Ty was in for another surprise — Carmen couldn't overpower him, but he couldn't overpower her either! The anthros were caught in a deadlock — a bad situation for the outnumbered party.

“GGGGRRRAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" Ty roared as he thrusted his whole body forward. As he did, the lion's hyper cock frotted against Carmen's equally endowed member. A sensuous moan squeaked out the hyena herm as her body spasmed with pleasure for just a moment, giving Ty the chance to push her back a couple pawsteps.

A weakness? Perhaps Carmen could still be growing accustomed to her new tool. But how would he capitalize on it? Ty grinned wickedly at the hyena as his plan came together. The lion man wrenched his hands free from Carmen's and latched both paws tight onto her throbbing love rod. His rough stroking left the hyena yipping and moaning in a confused rut, paralyzed by pleasure. Up and down, up and down, alternating speed to ensure the carnal stimulus never stopped racing through her. “Go on Carmen, let it all out~" Ty purred into her ear. He wrapped himself behind the frenzied feral, pinching and tugging at her inflated breasts with his free claw.

Carmen howled as she blew gallons of fresh cum across the hallway! Ty couldn't believe how pent up she was, continuing to milk her dry as her fat tits and cock ejaculated. Once her flow started to subside, Ty released his clutch over the lust beast. Carmen was left twitching on the floor, stuck in the lingering aftereffects of her orgasmic high whilst her body recovered. With the main threat tuckered out, Ty could turn his attention to the horse that scuttled away.

“Zane…"

The horse anthro jolted at the call. He turned his snout just in time to see Ty leaping at him!

“WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?"

“GGYYYAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" The horse neighed.

Keith flicked two shots away with his tail. “You shouldn't go wasting whatever precious ammo you've got left…"

Chase kept both anthros in his field of vision. As long as he could see them and not Harriett, she was safe. He didn't need to win, just stall long enough for her to open the door — that was the game. An incredibly tiring one. Dancing between their lunges and pounces took every ounce of concentration Chase could muster. He kicked Sam away after shielding himself from her last attempt using his gun, firing off another futile round to force her further back. Vapor condensed in his visor from all the heavy breathing, slowing down now would only mean getting caught.

The sheep sniffed the air, “ahh~, I can smell the sweat dripping off you Chase…" she teased. “We can do this all day, but how long will you last?"

“SHUT UP!" Chase screamed, taking aim at her again. Then a blue blur slammed into him from his left, scattering his dart rifle and pinning him to the floor!

“Looks like you forgot about me again." Keith mocked, grinning ear to ear now that he finally captured his prey.

The anthro's grip was strong! Unable to shake him off, Chase slammed his boot into the shark's heavy ballsack.

“Ooh~…" Keith moaned jokingly, “surely you can do better than th-"

The second boot to the nuts was considerably more powerful! The rippling pain almost made Keith bite his tongue. Was he not as fatigued as they thought? The shark relinquished his grip as he curled on the floor, clenching his groin.

Panicked, Chase scrambled up to see Sam far past his defense, bounding towards the console! “HARRIETT, BEHIND YOU!!!" He roared, dashing over to his weapon.

Harriett wailed as Sam pulled her off the console. The ovine pressed the smaller woman's back against the wall with her wooly mass.

“You're all mine Harri~…" the sheep anthro muttered as her hooves easily ripped away her gas mask. “You'll feel soooo much better after you turn." Sam yelped again as the girl jammed another syringe gun into her side. “Haha, Chase already tried that! It doesn't matter how much serum you pump into me… I… w-won't…"

As her speech trailed, Harriett pushed the ovine off herself — letting the anthro collapse into a tranquilised sleep. Ever the overprepared one, she had used a few of her darts' contents for the syringe. But that was her only one, now she was completely vulnerable. However, after getting a good look at the battle ahead of her, she could see the boys were putting up a good fight. She gave Chase a nod before returning to the console.

“Of course she had a trick up her sleeve…" said Keith, still recovering from the damage he sustained. He continued on as Chase picked his rifle up. “Despite your failure, she still trusts you to protect her."

“What are you on about now?" He spat back, locking his aim at the shark.

Keith cackled, “you wanna know why I've been hunting you down so relentlessly?" He spread his arms out to display his scaly glory. “It's because you're the one who did this to me! You betrayed me, Chase!"

“Huh?!" Whilst keeping Zane held tight, Ty's leonine ears caught wind of their conversation. “Chase, what is he talking about?"

Keith turned his head to the lion. “Oh, he never told you? Or, maybe he said I valiantly pushed him out to safety. Choosing to sacrifice myself…" The shark looked back to Chase dead in his eyes. His smug grin had faded, replaced by rage. “No. In that storeroom, whilst I was dragging you to safety… you shoved me back into the mess! YOU TOSSED ME AWAY TO SAVE YOURSELF!"

Ty couldn't believe what he heard, even Harriett had stopped typing at the console for a moment.

Chase lowered his gun, “I-I… I had no other choice. Only one of us was going to make it out, so I selfishly did what was best for me…" a long sigh escaped his lips. “Keith, I'm sorry. I'll apologize a thousand times over if I have too. But you have to stop this…"

The shark raised his webbed hand up to stop him there. “I've already forgiven you. After all, your selfish choice blessed me with new power. I'm just returning the favor."

In his disbelief, Ty lost focus. Seeing the opportunity, Zane slipped out of the lion's grasp!

“Don't even-" But Ty hadn't realized his second enemy had awoken from their stupor. The hyena anthro held on tight to the lion, keeping his maw shut as she clamped him to the ground. She howled with lustful glee after capturing a worthy mate for herself. Ty watched in horror as the horse anthro sprinted towards Chase!

It didn't take long for the human to notice the brown horse beelining towards him. Chase fired off every remaining shot he had left at his best friend. The flurry of tranquilising darts each struck home on the horse's body, but adrenaline was high and the horse-man's rush had not slowed down! Seven-feet of equine continued bumbling towards him, too large and too fast for Chase to evade. Keith laughed maniacally as they collided!

And Chase was sent flying.

He rocketed through the air as if hit by a car, crashing into the wall a couple meters away from Harriett. Chase crumpled onto the floor next to Sam, still conscious and reeling from the pain of both impacts.

“I'm… s-sorry…" Zane mumbled as the tranquilisers finally took their effect on the horse anthro.

“CHASE!" Harriett yelled, but as she made her way towards him, he glared back with a look of furious desperation.

“STAY AT THE CONSOLE!!" He roared, startling her with his intensity. Seeing the fear in her eyes quickly tempered the flames within, he calmed his voice, “we have to get that door open, Harriett."

Confliction panged her face, but his order made sense. The doors to the crisis room were almost ready to be opened, every second was precious.

Keith took his time approaching the humans. He reveled in Chase's defeat. “Who to go for? I could take Harriett whilst making you watch…" he tapped his chin with a claw in thought, “no, I should let her open it. So, I'll infect you first and show you exactly why betraying me was a mistake."

The anthro held the human up by his hazmat, his tail swished and swayed in delight over finally getting his revenge. “No hard feelings, alright? We'll go back to being good friends after everything ends…"

And then, Keith caught the sound of something *crack* in Chase's right fist. Suddenly, that same purple smog from before flowed out of his hand, expanding and washing over the pair in a small cloud of haze! The shark soon entered a coughing fit, fully exposed to the smokescreen this time. “NO!! *cough* …I-I've *cough* …gotta get out!!" He hacked out.

From behind, Chase rose out of the smoke like a demon. With no more weapons, there was only one tool left at his disposal. He raised his clenched hands up and smashed down on Keith's skull, stunning the shark before slipping back into the mist.

The blow shook the anthro, but he remained conscious. He turned on his paws, lashing out at the imaginary enemy behind him. Another strike slammed his left, but as he turned to face it, all he saw was purple again. This continued on and on, whittling Keith down blow by blow — never giving him the chance to run out the plume.

“RRRRRRAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" Keith bellowed, “CHASE!!! You're done for when I find you! I'll fuckin-"

“No hard feelings..." Chase whispered, face to face with the shark with his fists ready to strike.

It all happened so fast. Left. Right. Left. Down. Up. Right. Who was turning Keith's head so much? Oh… right, Chase was on the beatdown. An endless barrage of fists all landing perfectly on the shark's face. How could this happen? Sure the environment disadvantaged him — but, Keith was stronger, faster, tougher! Why did it feel like he was going to lose?! After his face took another left hook, his swollen eye caught it, the truth.

It was only a glimpse, but Keith could see it underneath the visor. The desire for survival, for liberation, that shone in Chase's eyes. They burned with an unfathomable intensity Keith had never seen before. Not in the others. Not in the resistance. Not in himself. This was what drove Chase — the reason he chose to sacrifice the shark. Then, and only then…

Did everything finally make sense.

Chase's roared as his final punch sank into the shark's belly, launching the anthro out of the mini smokescreen and sending his skidding across the floor, left defeated and unconscious.

A thunderous *clank* sounded from the black doors to the crisis room. The console flashed bright as the entrance slowly began to swing open, drinking in the lingering smoke nearby. Chase was on his knees panting when Harriett found him, “It's open, c'mon!!" She shouted over the active machinery.

As the smoke vented out once again by the complex, Chase and Harriett saw Ty straining to hold Carmen back from rushing them. “You two just go! I'll watch over the others." He yelled.

The human pair nodded before turning to the abyss that held their freedom. Once the huge gate closed off permanently again, the lion released his hold over the hyena.

Carmen pounced on Ty in anger, but just before she could gouge him — she went silent. “H-huh…?" The hyena babbled, confused over why she was hunched over a lion that looked and smelled vaguely familiar. “T-Ty?!"

“Heyy~ you can talk again!" Ty grinned.

The hyena looked around at all the furries before slumped down to rest on Ty's rock hard torso, “mhmm… I feel like I just ran a marathon…" she groaned. “Guess we lost?"

“Hell yeah you did!" Ty jeered, “ohh, you missed out big time! I don't think I've ever seen Chase act so ferocious!" Only then had it really dawned on him…

They'd survived. They had finally won.

Crisis Room

The human duo walked down the dark hallway. Dim blue lights lined the ceiling of the space, just enough that you could see where you were heading. The awkward silence was palpable, but what could they really say after all this? 'Hooray! We didn't turn into sex-addicted animal freaks'? This wasn't the end of some kind of wacky, crazy adventure — their friends had been snatched away from them by a supervirus only a psychopathic megalomaniac would have dreamt up! Their only hope to bring everyone back was with the Biohazard Squad that awaited their evacuation protocol.

The real crisis room was a large, cold, metal box that was filled with a series of terminals and monitors. Small mini fridges holding rations and water were stashed in the corner. Since they were completely untouched, Harriett took it to mean that… they really were the only humans to have made it here. Red lights blared from the screens that were monitoring the spread of the biohazard — each flashing 100%. It only confirmed her bleak suspicions.

She couldn't help but sigh, “this place could've at least looked a little bit more hopeful."

“Don't let it get to you too much…" said Chase, “we dealt with a lot to get here, didn't we?"

“Yeah, like having to wear this all day" Harriett complained, splaying out her crusty hazmat. “Speaking of which, could you look away for a bit?"

After removing their hazmats, Harriett turned her attention to the terminals. She used her faculty login and reached the program to trigger the evacuation signal. She reached over to press the enter key…

Chase took her hand before she could proceed, “you know, this is only the second time we've been alone together all day."

“H-huh?!" Harriett perked up at the notion, her face only reddened further as Chase took his hand to brush away the hair covering her face. The pair lost themselves in each other's visages. They had been through so much, and after this they'd only face more trials as they await the return of their friends. It wasn't fair. She never asked for all this strife, she just wished to enjoy her college days with the best friends she could ever have. Was it selfish to want this moment between them to last forever? Probably… but this was what she wanted, more than anything.

“Chase, I-"

The man's lips met with her close as they embraced with a kiss. Harriett pulled off quickly, suddenly remembering her task. “M-maybe we should…"

“They can wait a little longer, can't they?"

“B-but… w-well…"

Before she knew it, Chase was already back in for another round, wrapping his arms around her waist as he pecked at her neck. “Mhmmm… a-alright…" she caved.

“I… I love you Chase." She whispered as they continued their lovemaking, locking lips and tasting each other. To be honest, Harriett was a little apprehensive about the romance, given the situation at first — but, it felt good to be able to enjoy this. What was this sensation welling up inside her? Joy, peace, love? Its warmth soothed her soul…

Warmth?

Harriett wailed as she pushed Chase off of her! No, nonono… NOOO!! Even after the kiss ended, even after fear and despair grasped her mind…

The heat remained.

She could feel the strength in her legs dissipating as the world around her spun on its head. Harriett was desperate to know what went wrong? She looked at Chase…

But she met the face of a different man.

His bright, friendly, caring gaze disappeared. The man in front of Harriett looked on at her with elation so sincere that it became sinister, a smile so twisted it perfectly betrayed the inner malice hidden deep within the thing once known as 'Chase'. With a raspy laugh, he said one word.

“Surprise…"

…it can't be.

“WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME???"

The man's corrupt grin faded, and he returned back to 'Chase'. “I gave you… a taste of bliss. Work's quick, doesn't it?"

“What are you talking about? S-stop playing games and TELL ME THE TRUTH!!" Harriett screamed.

The facade fell once again, “Harriett. You know exactly what I mean."

Harriett screamed as she fell to her knees, clutching her head in shame. She knew the truth, it was right there, standing brazenly before her! But she refused to believe it! How could she?

There was no way. No way, no way… NO WAY!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“'I'm always at my realest when I'm with you.' Do you remember when I said that?" Chase asked.

She gave no answer, only more tears.

“Well now, it's finally time I show you… the real me."
