Scuplting A Blank
It's your typical discovery of a temple that is full of statues. The group of researchers that are looking through it quickly find that there is far more then they thought when it came to this temple of Anubis.

It was never a small thing when a new temple was discovered, and in the northern desert that's exactly what happened as a small caravan drove through the sands. While there was no actual road out to the site that had been discovered by drone technology the group had found a dried river bed that was hardened enough to bring their personnel and equipment towards the site. It was only three cars; the van up front contained the three researchers that were tasked with trying to find the opening the second was a large truck with their equipment, and the final car in the row was the caravan that served as their mobile base of operations and living quarters for the five people. As they continued to drive deeper into the desert those who were in the front car continued to look out to see if they could see any structures to only be greeted with sand dunes.
"Where the hell is this thing supposed to be again?" The cheetah driving the car said as he looked out from the windshield, the cobra next to him watching the screen that he was holding in his lap.
"Just keep following the river bed Jacob," the cobra replied as he zoomed in, their location showing as a red dot as it slowly moved to the x-ray of the rather large structure that was underneath the sand.
"Wow, that's lucky," the shark in back said as he leaned forward from the backseat.
"It actually makes sense considering," the cobra chimed in again while the feline continued to drive along the cracked dirt. "Most civilizations were built near rivers, and it stands to reason that when it dried up so did the city. It's a shame though, this thing looks impressive even from the scans alone and would love to see it in action if this place hadn't become so inhospitiable."
The shark just leaned back and as they got to a rather large bend in the river where the structure was right next to the cobra got on the radio. "Mark, we're almost there," the cobra stated, looking back through the back of the van's window to see the elephant that was driving their equipment truck. "Make sure to get ready to park."
"Roger that Ansem," the elephant replied through the radio. "How are Jacob and Malachi doing?"
"Bored," Malachi called out from the back.
Jacob snickered at that as Ansem rolled his eyes and gave a more detailed report, though it was basically the same as what the shark had said while they pulled up to the dig site. When they get to the bend the van stopped along with the other cars behind it. Though it was still a few meters away from the actual structure they didn't want to risk the vehicles on the potential lose sands of the desert, though as the three researchers got out of the vehicle and were greeted with the acrid air of the wastes they found a bit of scrub brush and that the ground was still fairly stable. They turned to see the other two park behind them and saw David lumber out, as well as the last member of their team that drove the caravan as the horse named Vex stepped out and put on a pair of sunglasses.
Once everyone was out they immediately started to get the equipment up to the actual site, Ansem telling them where to go as David and Vex both began to lug the heavy stuff up towards where the entrance was supposed to be. The other two researchers took care of their own tools and made sure to stay out of the way of their crew. It didn't take long before they had everything set up and were ready to start the excavation of the ruins. As the others operated the machinery the three attempted to see if they could find anything that poked up above ground as well as catalogue the area before their operations altered the landscape.
For the next few days the group had the same routine; working through the day to get to the entrance, followed by sitting around and having drinks in the caravan during the night. Though it was a tight fit the excavation crew often worked late into the night, using the cooler temperatures for a more comfortable experience and allowing the others to sleep. There wasn't much for the researchers to do but wait for the entrance to be revealed, and finally on the fourth day they found themselves able to do so. It was a tight fit but the others, particularly Ansem, weren't ready to wait around for them to completely remove all the sand.
While the horse and elephant would continue to work to get more of the entrance cleared away the others slipped inside, tying a rope to a rock near the entrance so that they wouldn't get lost. Armed with head lanterns and notebooks, not trusting their computer equipment to whatever may be within these ruins, the three kept together through the main hallway until they got to the first chamber. "Amazing," Jacob said as he brushed the sand out of his fur. "This must have been some sort of temple or something, Egyptian I'm guessing from the looks of it."
"This far east?" Malachi replied as he began to sketch out some of the pictographs that were closest to the entrance.
"I can't think of another civilization that uses these kinds of hieroglyphs," Jacob replied as he continued to move deeper into the temple, stopping dead in his tracks as his head light illuminated the object in front of him. "Whoa... guys, look at this."
The other two had been looking at the walls to see if they could decipher more about those who built it, but as they turned around to see what the cheetah was talking about they both gasped at what they saw. It was a statue of a jackal; while normally it would have just been a testiment to the artisens of the era, what they found was that it was made completely out of alabaster that Jacob was pressing his hand against.
"Damn guys, do you know how much that this statue would go for?" Malachi asked as he went up to it himself, rubbing a hand against the stone thigh of the relatively featureless statue.
"Probably not as much as this one," Ansem replied, the two turning to see him standing in front of a similar statue that was made out of pure gold that like the first was about as tall as he was. "I'm not one to track gold prices, but I'm pretty sure that this one alone could fund our research for the next twenty years if it's the same all the way through." As the others looked on in awe Ansem rubbed his hand against the rather lean chest, the muscles well-detailed and realistic unlike the featureless jackal head that it was attached to. "How strange, it's warmer then the ambient temperature of the room."
"Maybe somehow some sun shines on it?" Jacob speculated as they walked forward and found another alabaster statue, also in the shape of a jackal. The others just shook their heads at that, considering they had been documenting every inch of the surface of this place they would have likely found a hole already significantly big enough to let in sunlight. But the mystery of the statue's temperature was quickly overshadowed by the continued discovery of more statues that were in the hall, all of them either made of alabaster or gold as they began to excitedly document the find. With how dark the inside was they couldn't even tell how many there were in total, but what made it strange was that there was no rhyme or reason for how they were built or where they were placed.
When they finally got to the back of the main room they found that there were others that branched off, and as Jacob continued to push forward in curiosity he noticed that all the statues he found in the entrace away, about eight or so that they could find, were all facing towards the entrance. Perhaps it was something to signify the daily life of the people that worshipped here, the cheetah mused. While he saw the other two continue to mill about the entrance chamber Jacob wanted to see if there was anything further in. Though the other two were far more interested in the origins and culture of this civilization the feline had more... materialistic ideas in mind.
Jacob had already mentally thought about what he could do about the statues, though it was unlikely that he would be able to do anything about those without someone noticing there probably had to be loose treasures about that he could probably pocket. It wouldn't be the first time that he hdad done such a thing and as he continued to move forward he found more statues. These were facing away from the door that he had just come in from, half a dozen gold and alabaster statues all pointed in the same general direction towards the back of the room. Jacob could start to feel excitement towards what might be some sort of primary worship chamber, only to stop dead in his tracks when he saw what they were all facing.
There was another statue, but this one was far larger and also made of obsidian. As his head lamp illuminated this new statue that was sitting on a stone throne Jacob found that it was also far more detailed then the others too; the jackal in front of him had gold inlaid all over his body and his features were actually carved. Though it might have been something else, there was little doubt in his mind that this was a depiction of Anubis. This definitely clinched the fact that they were looking at an ancient Egyptian site, though as it had been said it was unusual that there was something like this so far away from the original dynasty.
Jacob turned his head away from the statue and looked at the walls that were around the throne for any other context clues about what was happening there as well as some potential hiding spots for loot. As he did however he began to feel like he was being watched, remembering the eyes of that statue even though it was once more shrouded in darkness. It felt like a shiver that had gone down his spine and as he looked back at the Anubis statue it remained just like it had been, causing the cheetah to chuckle and shake his head that he was being paranoid. Considering he hadn't gotten caught yet in his pilfering he knew that it paid to be cautious, even being the one to suggest the head lamps so that he could see them coming.
But there was something that lurked about in the shadows, and suddenly he felt something grab his wrist that caused him to yelp. A hand had gripped him and when he looked down he saw that it glinted with a golden hue in the light from his head lamp As his gaze followed up the arm he found that it was one of the jackal statues, its blank face looking straight at him even though it was completely frozen. When he tried to wrench his arm back his movement was suddenly stopped when he was grabbed by another, his head snapping back to see an alabaster statue had locked his other arm so that he couldn't move at all. The sudden binding of his arms had caused him to thrash around but he couldn't do much more than squirm before he suddenly felt the vibration of the floor under his feet.
The light from the headlamp slowly shifted to directly in front of him, once more seeing the shine of that obsidian statue... except it was right in front of him. As the cheetah continued to remain restrained from the statues on either side of his body the feline's jaw dropped as he saw the head of the Anubis statue staring right down at him. Unlike the other two this one was much more animated and had a smirk on carved face while its arms were crossed over his chest. There was only one thing that he could think of doing at that point...
Both Ansem and Malachi were attempting to translate the heiroglyphs when they heard a scream that caused the two of them to look at each other. "You think he fell in another hole?" Malachi asked. "Or caught between two walls."
"Either way he has to stop breaking off from the group," Ansem replied with a sigh. "Definitely go check on them though and see if they're actually in trouble, I'll get the other two to bring their tools into the place in case we need to get him dislodged from wherever he was stuck."
The shark sighed but nodded before he rushed off in the direction of the voice, which was further back into the ruins as he saw the light from the other headlamp disappear back into the hallway. Though Malachi was fairly certain that he would find the cheetah overreacting to something like usual, though these places were dangerous and caused him to pick up his pace. The scream had ended as quickly as it began that made him especially nervous but even with the echoes of the stone walls he got a general idea of where to go. As he passed by the statues he was too much in a hurry to notice that whenever they entered into the light from his lamp the statues all had their heads turned in his direction.
Malachi quickly got past the first hall and quickly got into the main chamber, looking around with increasingly panic as he called out Jacob's name and got nothing in response. He couldn't even see the light of the head lamp from the feline, but as he wandered his way in while looking around he thought he saw something that was near the back. It was hard to see at first but as he got a better angle he saw that it was the head lamp, though strangely it looked like the light was flashing as it reflected off something right in front of him. Looks like he really did get himself stuck on something, the shark mused as he went over to see what the situation was with his fellow researcher.
It wasn't until he got right up to where the light was that he saw what was going on, the shark skidding to a stop as he found the cheetah, though he had almost missed him standing there. It looked like he was being held by two statues and with him getting close enough he found that Jacob was completely naked and on his knees. "What the hell..." Malachi gasped as he saw that it looked like the feline was sucking off an obisidian statue in the shape of Anubis, the huge phallus pushing into his throat while hearing the gurgles of the feline as something shiny was dripping down his neck.
The sight of the incredibly lewd act had caused Malachi to take a step back, which caused his heels to bump against something behind him that caused him to trip backwards. For a few seconds he found himself falling until he was caught by something that kept him from hitting the stone floor, and as he quickly scrambled back to his feet he turned around and saw that he had landed in the arms of the statue that was right behind him. As he looked at the creature he was fairly certain that it hadn't been there before, but another moan had caused him to spin his head back around to where Jacob was.
Malachi had to do a double take and found himself blinking several times when he noticed that the scene had changed significantly. The statues that had been gripping the cheetah's arms as well as the one that his muzzle had been bobbing up and down the cock of were all gone, leaving the feline kneeling there completely alone. It was like the entire sight had been a trick of his eyes, though he saw that Jacob was still completely naked and kneeling while facing away from him. He could also see that he was doing something to himself and the shark wondered if this was some sort of elaborate prank as he went over to knock some sense into the feline.
"Very funny," Malachi grumbled as he went over to get the guy on his feet, though as he finally got to see over his shoulder he stopped from touching him as he saw the hand of the feline stroking up and down his cock. In the light of his head lamp the shark found that both the hand and the maleness of the cheetah looked like they were covered in gold, which was starting to spread over his fur. "What in the..."
Suddenly the head of the cheetah turned towards him, Malachi's hand going to his face in shock. His entire muzzle was completely covered in gold and with his mouth frozen open he could see that it was on the inside too. Though the front of his muzzle looked as hard as metal, what was spreading over his face was gooier as he could see the eyes of the feline were open wide in shock. If he was trying to say something there was no sound that came out as Malachi found himself continuing to back away in horror. As Jacob reached out for him his other hand also had the same golden liquid metal on the tips, spreading back across his hand as strands of gold began to connect his lips.
It was too much for Malachi and he turned to run for the exit he found himself blocked by the obsidian statue, Anubis standing there with his arms crossed over his chest like it had always been there. The shark had paused as he attempted to figure out how to get past it he found a pair of hands grabbing him onto his shoulder, causing him to spin around and see that Jacob had caught up with him. It was hard to tell it was him though as the gold had completely coated his eyes and his muzzle was losing its features while the strands of gold merged the upper and lower jaws together. It was a terrifying sight, but as he backed away he bumped right into the Anubis statue that caused him to get lifted up.
"Wait, hold on a second!" Malachi shouted, the shark squirming in the iron grip of the obsidian statue as the increasingly golden creature ripped off his pants. "Hey, those were my favorite pants!"
As the shark had a momentary flash of anger while his bare legs kicked in the air the mostly golden creature merely tilted his increasingly blank head and managed to grab onto the ankles of the other man. As they were spread open Malachi looked down in shock as he could see the metallic tendrils pushed their way into the ears of the feline, which were starting to become more pointed as the gold covered them. As his eyes disappeared and became completely smoothed over the blunt muzzle was also starting to stretch out into a more canine shape while his lips became sealed. He was becoming just like the others that were in the room, which as Malachi's head darted around he saw that they stood frozen in a semi-circle around them.
But suddenly Malachi had something else to focus on as he began to feel something pushing up against his exposed tailhole. He hadn't even seen the statue's cock, either it was inside the mouth of the cheetah that was turning to a jackal or he hadn't noticed, but just from the tip of it he felt that it was huge. It caused him to breathe heavily in shock as the gold hand of the creature in front of him wrapped around the flesh of his shaft. It was hard to even consider him as Jacob anymore as only his legs and back still showed his spotted fur or feline features while the blank gold jackal head remained frozen looking directly in front of him.
But it wasn't just the new statue's head that had become completely petrified; as the Anubis statue began to push in deeper and spread him open it caused the shark's hips to push up, which as it slid in the grip of the golden fingers he found them to be completely solid. There was zero give to them and it was like having on a cockring almost, though it was getting hard to focus on anything as the waves of pleasure began to crash through his body. As the thick cock continued to push deeper into his guts he could already start to feel a tingling sensation spread from the tip, unaware that the rough blue-grey skin of his exposed rear had already started to have the color drain from it. Though it wasn't the first time he had a man's throbbing length inside of him it was definitely the biggest, but the more that his insides got used to it the more he began to feel strange inside.
With the pleasure building up inside him already the simultaneous stimulation of the cock inside him and the frozen hand sliding on his shaft it was causing his webbed feet to kick out. It was getting harder to do so though and as he looked down in shock he found that the white that had completely subsumed his rear was creeping outwards, tendrils of the coloration spreading over his groin and his thighs. Even without his hole being stretched to the limit he found it harder to move them and as his panting increased he found that he no longer needed to actively hold them up. It was like they were stuck in the air... and as continued to get bounced up and down he began to feel the petrification spread from the base of his shaft up towards the tip.
"F-fuck, wait..." Malachi tried to say, but the lust suffusing through his thoughts was making it hard to even form words as his throbbing cock no longer twitched, instead it merely jutted out from his equally petrified groin. He couldn't even feel it move up and down with his body getting thrust into as his dorsal fin was also rock hard as it pressed against the statue behind him while the petrification was spreading up his sides towards his chest. "What's... happening... so full..."
The words of the shark fell on deaf ears as his legs continued to lock in, the alabaster continuing to assimilate the flesh of his limbs. As the cock of the statue pushed further up inside of him and his chest became frozen it wasn't just his physical body that was becoming frozen. His thoughts were becoming more sluggish as the pleasure pervaded it, suddenly becoming his entire scope of thought. As his own internal monologue grew quiet it was being replaced with something else, an echo of a powerful voice that was filtering in his head that was starting to turn white.
With a particularly hard thrust Malachi let out a gurgle and the same shiny white that his body was becoming had started to dribble out of his mouth, the liquid alabaster creeping up his mouth and starting to coat his jaws. Almost immediately his features started to morph and be reshaped as though sculpted by unseen hands, becoming more canine just like the one in front of him. As his felt his muzzle get heavy it caused him to look back down, and when he did he saw that not only had the feline completely disappeared into the blank jackal statue but his hand had also changed its position. It had gone from being wrapped around his stone cock to having his palm pressed against it, and as his orgasm was building up his eyes widened when he saw that with the way the Anubis statue was pounding into him it was pushing his cock against his groin.
Malachi's panting began to lessen as his chest hardened, his body becoming more lithe as the stone seemed to slim him down. Even as the tendrils of goo started to cover over his eyes the only thing he could do was watch as he saw his thick shaft start to sink into the stone of his groin, the sensitive flesh merging and melting into the rest of his body. At that point he saw that the gold jackal statue was also completely nullified, what he had been stroking was completely gone and replaced with a smooth expanse of metal. His own groin was quickly following suit, but as his mind became locked with pleasure he was unable to look away... not only because his neck had become petrified but also because the stone had completely petrified his eyes as he watched the last of his cock disappear inside of him.
About twenty minutes later Ansem had watched as the horse and elephant had walked into the temple with their tools after Ansem had called out to them to get in there. "They're both in the back area," Ansem said as he continued to decipher the readings. "I heard Malachi talking so I'm thinking that they might be fine, but considering they haven't come back yet you two should probably go out there and double check."
The two just nodded and went into the main room with their equipment in tow, touching the statues as they go along and leaving the cobra to continue to finish up his readings. He had been so close to the translation of this rather large mural before Jacob had called out, which was part of the reason why he had stuck around the entrance instead of going out to find them. The other two were better suited for that type of thing anyway, he thought to himself as he continued to put in his solutions into the predictive algorithm. Eventually he finally managed to get a breakthrough and let out a hiss of triumph as actual words appeared on the screen when the symbols were scanned instead of gibberish.
With the codex cracked Ansem was able to read the writing on the wall, which told of a statue that was created for this section of the kingdom that had been established far from the main empire. At first it sang the praises of the sculptor, who was also a powerful magician, but when he had made a statue of Anubis the pharaoh of the land was worried it would overshadow his legacy and plotted to kill him once the commission was complete. But the sculptor had figured it out and when this temple to Anubis was complete he threw a party to unveil it and these stories. The guests, including the pharaoh, were in awe of the sculptor's mastery at carving obsidian into such an intricate design, and as he invited them to touch it the story said it sealed their fate with a curse that would make sure they would be forgotten to time where no one would know who they were while also protecting his greatest creation...
"The sculptor cursed the statue to turn everyone into a featureless jackal version to it," Ansem said as he turned his headlamp around, looking at the statues that were scattered about before turning back to the story. "It can't be... curses aren't real, but it would explain how all these statues came about. Protecting his greatest creation... anyone who touched the statue became cursed by it..."
Suddenly a chill radiated from his stomach as he continued to muse on what the story was telling him, and as he did he also became aware that his hand had been getting stiffer with every second. He had been so engrossed in his work that he had been ignoring it for the most part, and as he finally looked down at his hand he gasped at the alabaster sheen that had started to permeate the scales. As the digits became harder to bend he realized that the curse was real, and that not only had his fellow researchers been deeper in the temple but he had just sent the other two towards the same fate. He already seen them touching the statues as they went by and if they were cursed to that meant they were all in danger and needed to get help.
With nothing else he could think of Ansem ran into the darkness, his headlamp bouncing as he called out for the other two while looking around frantically. As he did he could feel the statues start to move, each flash changing the pose of the creatures around him but trying to ignore him. As he ran further back he couldn't hear the two talking, nor the sound of their machinery either. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to find where the two went, only for his headlamp to not only illuminate the two workers but also the statue that he had just finished hearing about. The Anubis statue in the middle had a hand on each of the heads of the workers, whose eyes had rolled all the way back until only the whites could be seen.
"Please... we are not here to steal anything or were connected to those who wanted to kill your creator," Ansem pleaded, looking into the eyes of the Anubis even as alabaster and gold were pouring down the heads of those that knelt there. The cobra could see their erections throbbing hard as the metal and stone already began to alter their faces, their jaws stretched in a silent scream of pleasure while their faces warped. The trunk of the elephant was being pulled into his face and the muzzle of the equine slimmed down as their mass seemed to be getting sucked into the statue while their increasingly petrified bodies slimmed down. "We didn't do anything, we shouldn't be cursed!"
When it was clear that his words were falling of deaf ears Ansem decided to make a break for it, running for the exit. The temple suddenly felt much more crowded then it had been before and as he began to bolt for the door he could already see the statues moving. To his surprise the ones that had been behind him had completely disappeared and left him with just the darkness. It was at that point he realized just how quiet it was, the temple completely silent beside his own breathing as he managed to find his way back to the door. But when he finally got to the entrance he found that there were a dozen statues that were standing in his path, causing him to stop and look around frantically to see more were quickly surrounding him.
"You all move pretty fast for statues," Ansem said as he looked at his hand and saw it was turning gold. "What a find... and no one will ever know that we found it when they discover this place... and join us..."
