Under The Cherry Blossoms Eleven Point One

Before I could react I hard a bark from the forest and as I made to turn something silverly sank it's fangs into my hand. I yowled and watched my HP drop quickly. In a panic I yelled out "Soltice Three!" Around me the magic particles whirled and while they did nothing to dislodge the beast on my arm it at least stopped my health decline and sent it slowly heading upwards though I was suffering a bleeding debuff which wasn't doing me any favors. "Taming!" I attempted to use it on the creature biting me slapping my hand down on it's head and while the skill didn't work it didn cause the creature to leap off me with a snarl.
I summoned my staff from inventory. "Bolt!" The small little blast of energy was dodged by what I know realized was a hungry wolf but I didn't mind such. "Nature's Blessing!" The surrounding plant life grew uncontrolably and thick branches reached towards the nimble wolf which zipped through the grapsing branches as if it were nothing.
_Use Blood Transmutation! Let us show what we can do for you! _ Came Sukura's voice in my head and I did as told grimiacing as it seemed the pain from the wound ratched up and I saw my HP fall a further 10 points before I felt something leafy on my arm...and from my arm itself grew a vine or at least something similar and it blossomed into Cherry Blossoms right there. I immediatly noticed that my bleed debuff was gone but the flowers themselves weren't done. With no prompting from me other than a worrying drain on HP until I was left with a 100 I was surrounded in a protective Barrier of cherry blossoms. But...either it was the in game effects or I had finally lost it but these flowers had an oddly metallic sheen to them. Despite the oddness of the situation I felt safe enough though I noticed that my HP didn't rise further even with my regen buff still active.
I also felt quite woozy as if I had suddenly volonteered to donate every drop of blood in my body. I felt the blossoms within me as if they were flowing through my body itself and the connection to the flowers grew stronger. That at least is what several blippin notifications assured me. I batted them away in annoyance as we had a battle to fight.
The flowers moved on their own accord charging through the air towards the wolf who had managed to make it's way out of the plants that had ensnared it prior. The beast lunged towards me again and this time it was met by a barrier of Cherry Blossoms. I would have backed up but i didn't trust my balance at the moment. The flowers despite my intial worries about them being fragile absorbed the blow as if I had just put up a sheild up.
Speaking aloud I said quickly "No Killing! I want to Tame this wolf." The flowers after rebuffing the wolf's attack moved to counter striking at the wolf like a series of bladed whips. I was wondering about the fairness of having these flowers but quite honestly it appeard while they were active I myself couldn't move. At least once I got past my initail woozy feeling I noted that my feet seemed to be quite literally rooted to the ground.
I had to give the little wolf credit. It dodged the attacks of the whips swiftly even if it seemed to realize that biting at them wasn't a good idea. It however made no move to retreat which got me to thinking. "Bind them." I told the flowers and when that happened I dug out some raw meat from my inventory. I had been intending to cook it later but now that I got a proper look at the wolf it's ribs were showing. I carefully offered it a peice of meat and it snapped it out of my hands gulping it down quickly. I grabbed more and gradually saited the wolf. Once it had it's fill it growled at me still and I shrugged. "Can't win them all." I said to myself before looking the wolf in the eyes. "I'll release you and you can be on your way. But if hunting is that thin in the area becuase of me then come with me. I'll garuntee better meals than raw meat. But we have to enter a taming contract. If you accept give me your paw." I released the wolf and waited patiently for their response.
I got a long searching look from the lupine before ever so slowly they raised their right forpaw and brought it down on my knee. "Taming" The system beeped at me _Taming contract has been established. The conditions are that you feed and care for the silver wolf in front of you. Do you accept this contract? _ "Yes" _Taming complete. Would you like to name your companion? _ Looking at the screen I noticed they were male and then looking back at the wolf themselves I considered my options. "How does the name Samson sound?" I look to the wolf who shrugs. "Samson was supposedly stronger than a thousand men. However his strength faded if he ever had his hair cut." I recounted the old story and the wolf had an interested look in his eyes. "Samson it is then." I put in the name and clicked accept the box faded away and then I had the nauseating sensation of my flowers withdrawing and while most of my HP returned at their retreat the feeling of flowers crawling around under my skin didn't feel at all pleasant.
Once everything settled and I could move again I got to my feet and told Samson. "My name is Nakishodo. The flowers you just had the pleasure of dealing with are called Sukura. Not sure why but now that everyone is introduced shall we head to town?" I got a nod from the wolf and began to walk that way once more with them trotting along by my side. As we walked I noticed that the pet interface had popped up and so I drew it to the center of my feild of view reading the information.
_Name: _Samson _Level: 5 Gender: _Male
_Species: _Silverback Wolf
_Traits: _Animal Senses II, Tracking II, Hunting VI, Stealth II
_Ancestory: _Unkown (?)
"Interesting." I said quietly after reading the screen. I flicked it away making it vanish. I did notice that I still had the little notification bell jiggling back and forth and flashing red at me. I sighed softly and resolved to ignore it for now. It was just ability information and I didn't want to focus all my attention on reading that right now. Though I did check the other seperate areas of my HUD seeing if I had any messages. That section was blank so I resolved to leave it be focusing on the journey to town.
Samson followed me dutifully and I pulled out another sliver of raw meat. It was the last one I had. But it wouldn't due to have him go hungry. And I could always hunt once more. "Here Samson." I tossed over the last bit of the meat and watched him snap it out of the air and before he hit the ground it was gone. "Damn. You were hungry huh boy." I muttered watching him wag his tail before continuing to follow me.
I breifly wondered why Gainful Stomach wasn't working or giving me a notification or status icon but I suppose since the raw meat wasn't cooked that it didn't qualify for the bonus. Deciding that I'd figure it out later I kept walking. "Need to get supplies to cook a proper meal in town. Make sure that Samson is well fed." I was talking to myself and I looked over to Samson who looked back at me like I was going insane. I probably was. "What?" I shrugged lightly. "Technically I'm talking to you. So I'm not showing any signs of insanity." The wolf gave me a pittying look and an eye roll.
I was trapped in a virtual world with a sassy feral wolf. Great. My day was going great. Speaking of wolves. I tapped my friends list and composed a message to Zen. "Hey how are ya doin?" I hit send and waited to see if the rogue wolf would reply. During my musings I realized that I could see the outskirts of the town as we approached. "Almost back." I said to myself and Samson.
As we reached the outer edges of the town but not actually gone in yet I got a message back from Zen* "How ya doing Bud?" I smiled softly and replied. "Managed to tame a wolf pup. After they ate half my arm." I send the message with a small chuckle and what I thought might have been a snort from Samson.
I moved to enter the town with easy stride. However the gate guards where quick to inform me "You need to get a collar on that beast. Otherwise there will be a fine." I frowned lightly not aware of this rule but thanked the guard and moved past them to find a smithy where I might be able to purchase the leather to make it.
"I hope your joking about them eating your arm." Zen was quick to send back. "Well felt like they were going to take a chunk out of it. Do Smithies smell collars for pets? Town guard just told me I needed to get a collar." I waited for a bit for him to reply while I walked myself to the blacksmith.
