College Connection: Moving In
I've been going pretty heavy on the scaly side of things, so here's a shift back to the fuzzier side! Cory is moving into the dorms the Friday before his first day of college classes. He is surprised at first to find he was assigned an anthro room mate, but they quickly become good friends over their shared interests. This story is a setup for things to come. I only gave it an adult rating due to some 'morning wood', but otherwise it's squeaky clean. Things are definitely going to get spicier in the future installments! Hope you enjoy it!
It was my first day of college. After a tearful goodbye with my parent’s in the dorm parking lot, more tears on their part then mine, I made my way up to my dorm room. Luckily my room was on the first floor of the eight story building, I would not have wanted to drag my suitcase up those stairs! Using the key I had been given at the front desk, I unlocked the door, and swung it open. The small room that greeted me gave off serious prison cell vibes with its stone block walls, and custard colored paint. It was sparsely furnished with two double beds with bare mattresses and a bedside table between them, and two desks at the ends of them. There was also two small wardrobes with drawers at the bottom for storing clothing in. A large window graced the opposite wall from the door. Seeing the bare mattresses I realized I had completely forgotten to bring any bedsheets. I groaned in frustration, tossing my suitcase onto one of the beds, and shrugging my backpack off on top of the nearby desk. I wasn’t terribly familiar with the area, but I knew there was a shopping mall just down the road from campus, so I was going to have to make a trip unless I wanted to sleep on a bare mattress tonight. I was startled when I heard the sound of a key rattling in the door, and looked over in nervous anticipation. All I knew about my roommate was his name, and I assumed I was about to meet them. The door opened to reveal a tall, extremely well built zebra. I was shocked to find that my roommate was an anthro, but managed to hide my surprise. I had assumed I would have a human roommate, but then again I didn’t recall anywhere on the forms asking for a preference. The zebra looked startled to see me at first as well, then laughed nervously, running his hand through his spiky mane.
“Heh, you startled me! You must be Cory?” the zebra asked, closing the door behind him and putting down his suitcase. He then walked over to me and extended his hand to me.
“That’s me! So that must make you Zach?” I said as I took the zebra’s large hand and shook it.
“It sure does! Good to meet you Cory!” Zach replied. He stood back after shaking my hand and looked around the small room with much the same reaction I had upon first seeing it. “Geez, I feel like I’m in a prison cell! What time is lights out?” Zack joked.
“Dude, I had literally the same reaction when I first walked in here!” I said with a laugh.
“Good to see we think alike then! I feel like an idiot, I forgot to bring any sheets with me. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it, this isn’t exactly a hotel!” Zach exclaimed in frustration.
“Don’t worry, I’m an idiot too then, because I didn’t bring any either!” I told him. “There’s a mall just down the road though, do you want to come with me and we can see if we can find a store that sells bedding?” I offered.
“Sounds good! Otherwise it’s going to be a chilly night! Well, more so for you, at least I have my fur to fall back on!” Zach said with a chuckle. The zebra slid his backpack off his shoulder, and placed it on the other desk, then went back to the door to fetch his suitcase and placed it by his bed.
“Should we head over now, or did you want to unpack first?” I asked.
“Plenty of time for unpacking later, why don’t we go now?” Zach suggested. I smiled and nodded my agreement, and got up to follow him out of the room.
We consulted our phones for directions as we made our way off campus. The road had quite a lot of traffic, and we practically had to shout to be heard as we talked to each other during the walk as we were constantly buffeted by the wind of passing cars.
“So do you know what you’re going to major in?” I asked Zach, wincing at the dust kicked up by a passing car.
“I want to be a nurse, so I’ll be attending nursing school. How about you? What are you in for?” Zack asked. I was a little surprised to hear that he wanted to be a nurse, but didn’t comment on it.
“I’m doing physical therapy. Also I’m going to do massage therapy. I told him.
“Nice! We might have some of the same classes, particularly anatomy” Zach said.
“That would be pretty cool if we had some classes together!” I said.
“It would, we could help each other with studying!” Zach agreed. “Looks like we’re here! I’ll be glad to get the hell away from this road!” Zach commented as another car speeding by kicked up another large dust cloud, causing the zebra to grimace and hold up his hand to shield his face. We crossed the parking lot and entered the mall. After wandering around for a while and checking out the different stores, we headed into one of the department stores to check out their bedding selection. Looking through the different sheet patterns, I couldn’t help noticing Zach holding a package of sheets that had the logo for a game I enjoyed playing called World Quester, turning it over in his hands as he looked at it.
“World Quester eh?” I commented as I came to stand next to him and look at the package of sheets with him. Zach looked startled, and laughed nervously.
“Yea, it’s my favorite game, but I don’t know if I want to advertise it on my bed!” Zach said with a laugh.
“Shut up, you play World Quester? It’s my favorite game too!” I exclaimed excitedly. “No offense, but based on all the muscles, I would have taken you for a bit of a jock when we met earlier” I told him. Zach grinned and shyly rubbed his neck.
“That’s ok, I know I’m kinda built, but I’m not obsessed with working out or anything. Just a nice way to clear my head, you know?” Zach told me.
“I guess World Quester is my stress relief” I said with a chuckle. “My parents got me a new laptop for college, I made sure it was good for gaming as well!”
“Smart! My laptop isn’t as new, but at least it can handle World Quester. Fuck it, I’m getting these sheets” Zach said with a grin. I couldn’t help but laugh.
“I like 'em too, think I’ll grab myself a set as well!” I said, and grabbed a set of my own, but with a different color scheme to avoid confusion over whose sheets were whose. With our new sheets purchased, we made our way to the mall food court for some lunch. I had to admit, I was quickly growing to like Zach very much, he was very easy to talk to, and I was delighted to find out how many interests we had in common. We brought our trays of food to a nearby table, and sat down to get to know each other better.
“So, physical therapy! What interested you into going into that field?” Zach asked, looking at me with interest as he worked on his meal.
“Well, when I was a bit younger I got hit by a car while I was riding my bike. My leg was pretty much shattered!” I told him, causing Zach to grimace.
“Ouch! I’m sorry to hear that!” Zach told me with sympathy.
“Yea, it definitely sucked! It was a pretty long recovery period, but I’ll never forget how hard the physical therapists worked with me to get me back on my feet! I’m forever grateful to them for their hard work that made it so I could regain full use of my leg. You could never tell it was so badly broken by how I walk! I was really inspired by them, and it made me want to help others. One of the physical therapists was also a massage therapist, and after the sessions, they would give me a leg massage to help with my leg pain. I was surprised what a huge difference it made, so I figured why not try that along with the physical therapy?” I said.
“Kind of the same with me with interest in nursing. My parents are both nurses, and back in high school they got me a part time job at the hospital, cleaning rooms and such. It really made an impression on me how much of a difference they made to their patients, and how grateful they were for their attentive care” Zach told me. I nodded my agreement.
”I’m glad we got paired up, I feel like we have a lot in common! I was super nervous about meeting you cause I had no idea what to expect!” I said with a laugh.
“Thanks, I feel the same! I have to admit, I was kinda surprised to see I got paired up with a human! No offense, but I just kind of assumed they would stick me with another anthro” Zach said. I chuckled and nodded.
“I gotta confess, I was also a little shocked when you walked in! I didn’t really have any anthro friends growing up. A couple lived on my block and we hung out a little bit, but they were super casual friendships at best. Maybe shoot some hoops together, ride bikes sometimes” I told him.
“Yea, I had a human friend in high school, but we kinda drifted apart. Mostly hung out with other anthros. Nothing against humans, but just feels like humans and anthros mostly stuck together with each other where I went to school. Wasn’t like there was animosity between us, just a desire to stick with your own kind. I think it will be fun for us to live together, especially seeing as how much we seem to have in common! I was definitely worried I was gonna get paired up with some weirdo!” Zach told me.
“Well, I got some bad news, I’m definitely a weirdo!” I said with a laugh.
“Nah, you seem perfectly normal to me!” Zach said and laughed.
“Then I got some more bad news, you’re probably a weirdo too!” I said. We both broke down in laughter, drawing some irate looks from some of the other nearby diners in the food court. Finishing up our meals, we grabbed our purchases and made our way back to our dorm room.
Upon returning to our room we began unpacking our suitcases and moving our clothes into our wardrobes. With that finished, we made our beds with our new sheets, then stood back to admire them.
“We’re such nerds…” Zach said, then started laughing.
“There’s worse things to be!” I replied and clapped him amicably on the back. “Speaking of being nerds, maybe we should play a little World Quester?” I suggested.
”That sounds like a plan!” Zach said, and ginned. We pulled out our laptops and fired up WQ. We eagerly compared our characters, and sent each other friend requests so we could play together. After an afternoon of slaying monsters and exploring dungeons, we made our way to the cafeteria for dinner to see what kind of food was in store for us for the rest of the year. We then came back and spent the rest of the evening slaying more monsters. Once it started getting late, we decided to call it a night. I felt a little awkward changing in front of Zach, but I figured I better get used to it. I stripped down to my boxers and t-shirt, and climbed into bed. Zach was still messing around on his laptop, but eventually he closed it, and got up to begin undressing. He pulled off his shirt and shorts, stripping down to just his underpants. I couldn’t help but admire how well toned his body was, and I thought his black and white stripes were absolutely beautiful. As he turned around, I quickly averted my eyes so he wouldn’t see me looking at his body.
“I normally sleep in the nude, but I’ll spare you having to look at my junk!” Zach said with a laugh.
“Ha, thanks, I appreciate it! I’m sure we’re going to both end up accidentally seeing each other’s junk at some point though!” I said with an anxious laugh. Zach simply laughed again and nodded. He went over and flipped off the light switch before he got into bed, which creaked ominously under his weight as he laid down.
“Goodnight Cory!” he said cheerfully.
”Goodnight Zach” I said, and sighed as I closed my eyes. After a while, I finally managed to fall asleep.
At some point during the night, I was awakened by the sound of quiet sobbing. I sat up in bed and looked over at Zach, who was curled up, and facing away from me on his side. I could see his body shaking as he quietly cried. I quickly slipped out of bed and went to him, gently placing my hand on his arm, causing him to jump in surprise.
“Zach, are you ok?” I asked with concern, rubbing his arm gently.
”Oh, I’m sorry Cory, I didn’t mean to wake you!” Zach said, and sniffed loudly as he rolled on to his back and turned his head to look at me.
“Is everything ok? You aren’t in pain or something are you?” I asked him, continuing to rub his muscular arm in an attempt to soothe him.
“No, I guess I’m just a little overwhelmed. I’ve never really been away from home alone before, not even to summer camp or something. I guess the reality of it just kind of suddenly came crashing down on me!” Zach explained, reaching up to rub at his watery eyes.
“It’s ok, everything’s going to be fine! I feel a little overwhelmed and scared myself! But don’t worry, I’m sure it’s going to get easier everyday, and soon you’ll think back about tonight and laugh at how scared you felt” I assured him. I picked up his large hand and gave it a squeeze, then patted the back of it.
“Thanks Cory, that makes me feel better. I’m really glad I got you as a roommate!” Zach said gratefully, tightly squeezing my hand.
“I’m glad you’re mine too Zach. Now try to get some sleep, we’ve got a busy weekend, then classes start Monday! Don’t worry, you’re not alone, I’ve got your back” I said with a grin, giving his hand another comforting squeeze, then returning to my bed. I heard Zach sigh loudly, but there were no further sounds of crying. I lay awake for a little bit listening, and eventually heard his breathing even out, as he began to snore softly. I was happy I had been able to comfort him, and rolled onto my side and was soon fast asleep again myself.
The early morning racket of the dorm woke me up, causing me to lift my head and look around groggily. I looked at my watch to see it wasn’t even 8AM yet. Didn’t people sleep in on the weekends around here? I thought to myself grumpily. I rolled over to grab my phone off the small table between our beds and looked over to check on Zach. He was still snoring softly as he laid on his back, and at some point during the night he had kicked his blanket off, leaving him uncovered. My eyes widened, and I couldn’t help but stare at the giant erection stretching his underwear to its very limits. I caught a strong whiff of his tantalizing equine musk. I quickly snatched my phone from the table, and rolled over on my side facing away from him, but I couldn’t stop thinking about what I had just seen. I had seen naked equines back in high school while showering after gym class, but I had just never seen one with an erection before, just their large sheaths! My mind was utterly blown by how huge he was. I had never dated anyone in high school, and if I had to be totally honest with myself, I wasn’t even sure if I was gay or straight. Zach’s giant cock was certainly giving me a lot to think about though! I almost rolled over to look again, but stiffened when I heard Zach yawn loudly. A second later I heard him mutter “ah, shit!” under his breath, and the sound of his blankets quickly being rearranged.
“Hey Cory, you awake?” Zach whispered.
“Hey Zach, good morning!” I answered, but remained on my side facing away from him.
“I’m gonna run to the bathroom real quick, be right back!” Zach told me, and I heard him hastily get up and leave the room. About ten minutes later he returned, and I rolled over to look. Apparently he had dealt with his pesky morning wood in the bathroom, and thrown on some shorts and a t-shirt. He came over and sat on the edge of my bed, and smiled down at me.
“Hey, I just wanted to say thank you again for last night. I’m sorry about getting so emotional like that, but I really appreciate what you said to me, it really helped me settle down” Zach said, and patted my leg.
“No problem Zach, I’m sure you would have done the same for me if our situations had been reversed” I told him and smiled. Zach nodded, and got back up, and went over to sit at his desk to use his laptop. He sighed loudly as he looked at the screen.
“Bunch of different orientation stuff to go to today! Then I think I’m going to walk around and try to figure out where my classes are before Monday. Don’t want to be late to anything on my first day!” Zach exclaimed.
“Yea, I have orientations today too. That figuring out where your classes are beforehand is a great idea though! I’m going to do that too!” I said.
“Did you want to meet up later and do it together? I’m sure we probably have some classes in the same buildings?” Zach suggested.
“Yea, totally!” I eagerly agreed. We swapped phone numbers so that we could get in touch later, then I got up and headed to the bathrooms to shower and get ready for the day. After grabbing breakfast together, we went our separate ways for our orientations.
It was a long day of following tour guides and learning where everything was on campus. After a break for lunch, and one more orientation tour, I was finally done for the day. I texted Zach and arranged a time and place to meet up. Sitting on the steps of the student admin building, I perked up when I saw Zach approaching, and stood up to wave and get his attention. Seeing me waving, he grinned and jogged over to me.
“Phew, it’s been a long ass day!” Zach exclaimed, and rolled his eyes.
“Ha, same here! Glad that’s over!” I agreed.
“Did you still want to look around and find our classes? I can understand if you’re tired though, it feels like I walked twenty miles today!” Zach said with a laugh.
“I hear ya, but since we’re out already might as well! Then we can relax tomorrow and maybe play some WQ, no telling how much time we’ll have for that once classes are in full swing!” I suggested.
“That’s true, well let’s do it then!” Zach said with a grin. I grinned back, and we headed out to pinpoint the locations of our classes. We walked around campus for another couple hours, learning where we would need to go Monday, and plotting the best routes between classes. We probably looked like quite the odd couple walking around campus together. Zach was tall, muscular and handsome. I was skinny, a foot shorter than him, and extremely average looking. Zach attracted more than a few admitting glances from both males and females. We stopped at the cafeteria to grab some dinner, then headed back to the dorm. With an exhausted sigh, I laid down on my bed, and put my hands behind my head. Zach plopped down at his desk and did some browsing on his laptop. I pulled my phone out and did some browsing myself. Eventually Zach shut his laptop, then got up and stripped off his t-shirt and shorts.
“Want me to turn the light off?” he asked.
“Sure, thanks” I said. Zach turned to go hit the light switch, and I couldn’t help but sneak a quick peek at his well toned backside. I quickly shifted my eyes back to my phone before he turned back around. He returned to lay down in his bed, causing it to creak loudly.
”Geez, I hope this bed is going to make it, sounds like it’s going to die every time I lay down in it!” Zach said with a laugh.
“Don’t worry, if you break that one I’m sure they’ll be happy to charge you for another one!” I said jokingly.
“No kidding! Maybe I should have brought mine from home!” Zach said with a chuckle. We fell into a comfortable silence. I kept browsing on my phone, and Zach simply lay on his back looking at the ceiling. Eventually he spoke up again.
“Hey Cory, do you have a girlfriend back home? Or, boyfriend! Sorry to assume! Also sorry if it’s too personal, you don’t have to say, I shouldn’t have asked!” Zach said, sounding embarrassed for bringing it up, then quickly apologized for making assumptions.
“Ha, it’s ok Zach! But to answer your question, no, nobody special waiting at home. I’ve been single my whole life” I said with a sigh. “How about you? Anyone special back home?”
”Nah, I had a girlfriend freshman year of high school for a while, but it didn’t work out. Nobody since then” Zach said.
“Well, maybe we’ll meet somebody special here, you never know!” I said with a chuckle.
“Maybe! Ah well, I’m turning in. Good night Cory, I’ll try to refrain from crying any more tonight!” Zach said playfully.
“Good night Zach, see you in the morning” I said with a laugh. I sighed deeply as I looked at the ceiling. Even though I had only known Zach a day, I had a feeling I had already met someone special.
