Bottle of Nightwalker

An overworked college student at his night job decides to try a new energy supplement, but he gets a little more than he expected.

This is the first Transformation piece I ever wrote. And boy was it a slippery slope since then! Turns out, I really enjoy writing TF stuff, just something about describing all the changes is fun to me.

College life is difficult. Between long nights of study and homework compounded with needing to pay more in tuition expected, the stress of college can wear down most people. Some nights feel longer than just twenty-four hours. Other nights feel short when there is only free time to be had. The day-to-day cycle was beginning to wear on Noah, a student at art school who worked at a pharmaceutical retail store. It was his second year in college, and he had been working with the retailer to help pay for his tuition and living expenses.

That night, Noah was stocking the over-the-counter medicines, going box by box along the shelf. There was a printed inventory list that he was following, telling him what medicines to stock and where to stock them. He had already been on shift for about four hours, and it was already later in the night. Unfortunately, Noah was scheduled for a longer shift than usual. The pharmacy stayed open 24/7, giving people access to medicines all around the clock. All while keeping their employees working late nights and long hours. This time around, Noah was one of those unfortunate workers.

As he put another bottle on the wall, Noah gazed at the clock on the wall, letting out a sad groan as he laments how much time he has left on his shift. Having spent last night studying and working on a project, Noah was feeling exhausted. Wheeling his cart of inventory around from aisle to aisle, Noah continued to stock boxes and bottles, feeling more and more exhausted as the night dragged on. Once his cart was empty, he began to drag it back to the stockroom, passing by shelves until something caught his eye. A small display of bright blue bottles on a rack at the end of one aisle with caffeine supplements.

The bottle had a pair of bright gold eyes with a dark shroud behind them. The words across the bottle read “Nightwalker! Own the night!" Something about the bottle sparked curiosity within Noah and he lifted one of the small shot-sized bottles from the rack. With a quick glance through the ingredients, Noah saw no problems with anything on the list. He glanced around, sighing as the fatigue of the day stressed across his shoulders again. Noah checked the money in his wallet and murmured to himself, taking a quick trip to the registers up front.

Wheeling the cart into the back room, Noah took a quick detour to the restroom, stripping the plastic from the bottle. With a sigh, he tilted the bottle back against his lips, the citrus flavored liquid filling his mouth before he quickly swallowed. The flavor lingered, tingling at his taste buds before a subtle warmth, almost like the burn of high-proof alcohol, filled his mouth. Noah hacked and quickly dipped down, getting a drink of water from the nearby sink with a grimace on his face. The mix made its way down to his stomach, sending a slight shiver down his spine. Noah looked in the mirror, his face flush as he took a deep breath. That Nightwalker was fast-acting, already invigorating him after such a short amount of time! Noah marched right out of the restroom and onto his next task, feeling ready to take on the whole night if he had to.

Another hour passed and Noah had stocked nearly every product he was told to do. As he stocked the last few products on the shelf, he felt his hands getting stiff. Noah gave his fingers a flex, noticing his fingernails were a little longer, a small bit of confusion across his face. He laced his fingers together, arching them to pop his knuckles. The loud crack was audible through the entire aisle, getting the attention of a shopping customer. Noah looked down as his hands, noticing his fingers were now longer and getting slenderer. The hair on the back of his fingers started to feel thicker, having grown out more.

“What is happening?" thought Noah, shaking a little as he started to notice the hair along his arms had also grown in length. A sudden cramping in his legs brought him to his knees, a groan slipping from clenched teeth as he felt his muscles tense and pulse rapidly. To not make a scene, Noah got up and quickly made his way to the back of the store, pushing through the pain of his cramping legs. Each step, each extension of his limbs let out soft cracks, his muscles feeling hotter and more electric. Was the back room going to be good enough? No, that didn't feel right. He strained to take in a lungful of air, trying to just take a deep breath as he looked for an exit door. Outside air, that was what Noah needed. Making his way through the back halls, he pushed through one of the employee exit doors. As the cool air rushed across his body, Noah could feel that warmth pulsing more, spreading from more than his legs.

A groan of discomfort shocked through Noah, landing on all fours as he watched through squinted eyes as his fingernails grew longer and longer. The hair on his hands and arms continued to grow out, getting thicker and coarser. While his hands grew and shifted, Noah felt a tight feeling across his face. He did his best to focus his eyes down, seeing his nose push out, a thin layer of hair starting to spread across his skin. Before Noah knew it, his face was getting longer and longer, stretching outward as he groaned out through gritted teeth, a muzzle forming from his face. His ears began to stretch and change shape, goring into themselves only to push out into two sharp points, forming tall alert wolf-like ears. His teeth pushed farther out of his gums, gaining thickness and length as they began to form sharp fangs, rearranging his jaws to accommodate the dangerous gnashing ivories.

Across his body, he felt tight, his body wanting to stretch, NEEDING to stretch. To break free from itself. His arms tensed and pulsed, the muscles writhing under the skin as they swelled, getting leaner and larger. Every movement, every extension of his body parts felt good. Like working out all the discomfort of seized up joints. Suddenly, he hunched over even further, a snarl building in his thickening throat. It felt like his back was frozen in place, spine feeling immobilized as he tried to arch his back. With a loud KKKRACK Noah's back snapped out, his head flipping up in relief as he felt the tatters of his shirt sliding off his body. As he let out a sigh, still feeling that discomfort across his body, he let his eyes slip open, looking up into the sky. Noah locked his eyes with the moon, the bright glow of the celestial body drawing his attention.

The full moon, bright in the sky and glowing. It looked so peaceful and entrancing.

Noah stood up on his legs, standing back up onto his feet. Were they his feet anymore? He couldn't take the time to look, he had to keep his eyes locked with that bright moon. A low hum built in his core, his chest swelling and tightening as he took in a deep breath of the cool air. His lips curled up, his body coiling onto itself before he lunged out towards the moon, letting out a loud bellowing howl. His body cracked and extended out, gaining inch after inch in height as his body continued to transform. As the howl left his muzzle, he sank back down towards the concrete, feeling his toes digging into the ground. But they weren't toes anymore.

He looked down, seeing thick brutish looking claws, digging into the concrete beneath him, making light furrows in the ground. His toes fused and molded into four large pads on each foot, making large wolf-life paws with vicious looking claws on each one. His ankles began to stretch and pull back, lifting off the ground to give him a more digit-grade stance, lifting him further off the ground. His legs flexed, muscles gaining mass and getting thicker as his pants tore at the seams. Sinew and muscle flexed away the strands of fabric, leaving only a pile of various cloths between his legs on the ground.

That thick coarse hair growing all over his body continued to grow in, giving Noah a full coating of that thick warm fur, like that of a wolf. He felt the stretching of his body continue out until he was nearly double his original size, a hulking panting morph with fur growing from his body. He felt a straining pressure on his lower back, above his buttocks that forced him to bend over again, crouched in all fours. He leered back over his shoulder, huffing and panting through clenched teeth as he watched the skin push and twitch like a creature trying to escape. With another crack through the air and a rush of relief through the morph, a long-furred tail pushed free, gravity weighing it down before it began to lift and sway side to side. With that, Noah stood back up, taking his full stance as the last bits of warmth and shocking sensations drained through his body. Standing, nearly twice the height where he used to be, was a creature of the night.

A werewolf.

His nostrils flared from the end of his muzzle, picking up all the scents around him, some disgusting and some delicious. Turning to focus his deep golden eyes in the direction of that delicious scent, Noah crouched down, gripping the ground with his new front paws. Anyone watching would have missed it in a blink as the werewolf launched forward along the ground into the night, leaving only tatters of clothing behind him of his former life.

The next morning, Noah found himself naked in his bed, his covers tossed lazily over himself and his window open. The sun felt disorienting and sickening, making the human stand up and close the curtains. He didn't see the deep gouges into the wall around the open window, the tears across his bed where the werewolf found its way to slumber, making a mess as it followed its instincts to comfort. Noah couldn't deny that he felt well rested though. Maybe that Nightwalker stuff would be worth buying more.
