Orientation Day Chapter 2
#2 of Orientation Day
It would appear our lovelies may have had a little too much to drink and let those bursts of passion burn a little too hot~
After orientation had died down the two girls made their way into the city, the crispness in the air settling in as it seemed like summer was on it's way out. " It seems like just yesterday it was pushing ninety doesn't it?" Rufina asked. "Yeah, it's so strange how quickly mother nature can change her tune." Mint chuckled looking at the widespread buildings as far as her eyes could see.
"Nervous yet being in the big city?" Rufina asked "Me!? Never! Hahahaha" She forced a laugh, trying to hide the growing anxiety inside of her. "Okay, you're not fooling anyone with that." Rufina gave her a serious tone and smile. "It's okay to be worried in a new place with new people. There is no shame in it."
"Were you nervous when you came here?" Mint asked her curiously. "Oh heavens no." She responded. The anxiety in the poor girl seemed to spike a little from such a frontal response. The lynx chuckled patting her shoulder reassuringly. "The reason I wasn't nervous is because I grew up in this city, relax girl or you're going to make yourself gray before you're forty!" The two came down to a little hole in the wall coffee shop by the name 'Bengal Bagel Kitchen'. Mint Peered through the window seeing several purveyors enjoying their drinks and pastries so carefully crafted.
"You know you look like a creep staring in like that dear..Why don't we go inside and order." Rufina asked her pulling her gently from the clean window and nudging her into the doorway. Behind the counter were two friendly faces, one being a raccoon with dark hair and a few purple streaks in it. A very pleasant smile on his face. And beside him was a black masked ferret, she looked a little on the dim side but the aura she gave off could light up an entire room. "Hey, welcome to the Bengal Bagel Kitchen. What can I get you two?" The raccoon asked.
"Hey Kurt, how're you doing today? I'll have a chai tea please, and what ever my friend here would like." Kurt leaned over the counter almost as if he were inspecting poor Mint. "So what would you like sweetie? I can make a suggestion if you need. We have all sorts of interesting things here when it comes to hot and cold drinks." Mint just broke the silence with. "Coffee, cream and sugar please." Kurt chuckled and wrote it on a small piece of paper. "Comin right up. So Rufi I haven't seen you at our usual hang out spot. I've been worried someone stole my Rufi from me!" He pouted.
Rufina shook her head. "Don't worry I'll make sure I come hang out with you soon. I've been working on my studies, and trying to find a part time job as well. It's not easy being a poor college student. And I can't keep doing amateur modeling for you Kurt. Eventually your boyfriend will start to get suspicious of us." She laughed. "Oh please, that teddy bear wouldn't ever think such things! He loves you!"
"Well Alright then, We're gonna take our seat but text me when you're on break!" She smiled and herded Mint over to a window seat sitting at the booth. "Sorry, Kurt is my friend from middle school, he's always been there for me." Mint looked at her with a quiet little sigh of relief. "He seems very sweet. Though I must say his stare down he gave me was concerning.." She mumbled. "Oh he's just giving you a once over, it's what he does. He's trying to be a good best friend and make sure that you're not gonna hurt me or lock me in your closet and never ever let me out." She chuckled.
"N-no! I'd never do that." Mint exclaimed worried. "Really? I was hoping you'd say otherwise. I like small dark places. They're comfy." Mint's face reddened in embarrassment, all the while Rufina giggled without a care in the world. "Oh relax sweetie it was just a joke." Mint looked at her up and down till she finally had the courage to look her in the eye. "Rufina?"
"Mm?" She grunted in affirmation. "So..At the orientation, you grabbed and held my hand. Does that mean something to you?" She asked very straight forward, there was a moment's pause. The ferret girl walking over to their table handing them their drinks. "Chai tea for miss Rufina and a coffee for her lady friend! Anything else just let me know." She waddled her way off to the counter talking with Kurt once again. Rufina looked at her and down at her tea quietly. "Don't take it the wrong way. I do like you, I just did that to make sure you felt comfortable." Mint looked at the girl puzzled and a little crestfallen. "What did you think I wanted to..No no. Sweetie-" She was cut off. "No. It's not like that, I mean even if it was I'd be stupid to think something could bloom so quickly anyhow."
Rufina looked at the girl seeing she was certainly upsetted. "Why don't I show you the town? I mean you're new around here, I can show you the best spots in town, you'll never be bored while you're here." She smiled taking her cup blowing gently and sipped off of it. Mint looked at her with a slight glint of hope in her eyes. "Well, alright. That seems like it could be fun." The hybrid smiled a little more, "When you're done your coffee we will head back finish unpacking and tonight we will head out to a little club Kurt and I like to go to."
"My ears are ringing. Did someone say my name?" The lynx cocks her head to the side. "And just like that his acute sense of fun goes off as soon as I say the word club, and his name in the same sentence." She laughed. "Yes dimwit I said you can come too." She smiled. Kurt gave a little jump of Joy. "Oh good! I've been looking for a reason to bring the ol' tiger out for a little fun. He's been so wrapped up in the piercing business he hasn't been much fun for anyone. Maybe meeting new people will help."
Mint sipped down her coffee with her friend and the two eventually made their way back to the dorms. It was starting to grow late in the evening, and the night life was starting to rear it's head. "Now then what to wear.." The lynx slipped her clothing off and let it drop to the floor going through her drawers. "What do you think about this one Mint?" She asked holding up a shortened black dress, a classy look but left a little less to the imagination. Mint just kinda looked to her whilst she stood there in her underwear. "Is that..?" She let slip. "Is what?" She stopped for a second letting a momentary pause happen as she realized what had happened. Her heart beat so hard it felt like it could be heard through the dead silent room. "You've got a..?" Minttu asked. Rufina looked at her and quickly covered herself up. "N-no I don't.. I'm a girl just like you!" Mint raised her eyebrow. "Last I had checked most women don't have a frontal bulge." Rufina was caught in a loss of words. Trying so hard to say something but every time she did she couldn't. Finally she let out a sigh. "You're right. I'm not entirely a woman. But don't think that changes anything!" She scoffed. "I guess I had become too damn comfortable, I'm sorry I was born just a tad different than most people." The lynx put on her dress covering herself up ashamed of her body. Mint looked at her. "Then what are you.. If you're not a girl." The young lady looked at her. "It's a syndrome called HCS Humanoid Chimera Syndrome. Where biologically I'm born looking like a set gender but somewhere in my genetics it got scrambled and gave me both sets down below...I'm a freak, my parents dropped me off at Calqued when I was young and have basically grown up here. Doesn't matter since I've always guarded myself from everyone. But I was blinded and got comfortable." She stared down the hybrid with a saddened look worried she'd turn her away. Mint pursed her lip looking at the girl. "I don't think you're a freak." Mint stepped closer to the girl and took her hands gently in her own. Placing one upon her chest where her heart beat. "Do you feel that?" Placing it on her own chest after. "Your heart beats just as mine does. I'm no different than you, nor am I better than you in any way." Mint blushed. "Since you've shown me your secret I might as well show you mine. At least then it's fair." She tugged down her pants revealing she was just the same. "I have no reason to judge another of our own kind. I just..Didn't know that we had an actual name for it. Thankfully my parents were a little more understanding. But they forced me more into sticking with an assigned gender than to be expressive." Rufina looked at the girl with a sweet smile as she began to tear up. She pulled Minttu into a tight hug, not a single word was uttered from the girls but the feeling of tenderness between the two glowed like the brightest of stars.
The two showed up at the front door of an establishment clad in neon lights. The sounds of muffled dance music could be heard from beyond the doors. Kurt was tapping his foot standing next to a head taller tiger with an arm around him. "There you two are! I was afraid I'd have to call a search party for you." Kurt huddled over giving Rufina a hug. "So I know you two know one another, but Jei. This is.." He paused. "Mint. Her name is mint hun." Rufina leaned over to the clearly uncomfortable lady and pulled her closer. "Go ahead and say hi."
Jei smiled leaning in with his hand out. "It's very nice to meet you. I am Kurt's partner Jei, I'm sure we will get to know each other more as the night continues on. But let's get inside." Kurt agreed. "I hear my song playing and I just have to get in there anyway. So I will see you two soon!" The coon zipped in the doors, on the doors said the words "After Life" The girls walked into the club seeing so many people, as well as Kurt and Jei at the bar already with drinks in hand. "Alright ladies pick your poison." Rufina spoke up. "I'll take a tidal wave." Kurt smirked. "Oooh looking to get a little crunk tonight? Alright. How about you Minty?" Kurt chuckled. "I'll take... A long island Iced tea please."
"Very classy. Good girl." He smiled and put in for the drinks. "I know the bartender well so I get half off drinks." Rufina leans in towards Mint. "He means he slept with him." Kurt jabs her in the side. "Don't give that away so easily!" He said playfully. "Ow hey!" She laughed. Mint tugged Rufina aside quietly. "Hey..I wanna say I'm sorry for how I was earlier and I really hope it didn't hurt your feelings." Rufina shook her head. "It's done and in the past. I'm glad that you and I can get over it. For now let's party and..What ever happens happens." She smiled.
Kurt brought over their drinks and gave them a toast. "Alright kiddos! To new friendships and a lovely future!" The glasses clinked as they sipped. The four danced and drank for what felt like the entire night, mint and her roommate sat at the bar after a few drinks in them and looked to one another. "I think I need to use the rest room, but I am embarrassed to say this.. I need your help getting there." Mint was all too happy to help her. "Sure thing! I just wanna say thank you for taking me out and having fun with me, I really needed that. As the two meandered into the bathroom the room was dead empty, the sounds of thumping from the bass could be heard from the walls. Rufina took her by the hand tugging her into the larger of the three stalls in the room. "R-Rufina what're you-" She was stopped as her lips pressed against hers. Clicking the door locked shut. "I'm sorry..I just need you now." Mint's face reddened wanting to speak up but she felt her own inhibitions slipping out the window. Her hand slipping down under her skirt grasping mint's sheath stroking slowly. Groans of delight could be heard escaping the bathroom stall..
