Enter the Raptor (Chapter 2)
#2 of Enter the Raptor
So this is a story I'm writing about my fursona (scalesona?) Rax. It's probably going to be an ongoing thing that I add to occasionally, but I suppose we'll wait and see how it goes. It's about student life, and will be influenced by my own experiences, with a lot of things made up to make it a little more interesting as well. Word of warning first though. It's not specifically a sex story, but there will be sex in it. Anyway, on with the story!
I was awoken the next morning by the sound of the shower going in the next room. I lay there for a moment with my eyes shut, before finally rolling over to glance at my watch. It was 7:30. I had an introductory lecture later that day, but it wasn't until 11:00. I tried to go back to sleep, but the light streaming in through the window made it impossible. I threw off the sheets, and scrambled around for my jeans. I was standing in the middle of the room wearing nothing but my black boxer shorts, when I heard a giggle from the top bunk. I froze, then slowly turned to see my roommate's mysterious lover watching me from the top punk.
"H-hey." I said nervously, finally, spotting my jeans and pulling them on.
"Hey." Said the girl seductively. A lioness. She slowly peeled back the covers to reveal her slender, supple body beneath, and climbed down from the bunk wearing nothing but her black underwear and bra. I gulped as she approached me. I could see a predatory instinct in her eye, and for a moment I couldn't work out whether she wanted to fuck me or eat me. Fortunately it was neither. She brushed past me, swaying her hips provocatively as she made her way to where she had discarded the rest of her clothes. She slowly put them on, glancing over at me occasionally to make sure I was watching, before blowing a kiss and exiting the room. All I could do was stand there, and try not to let my lower jaw hit the ground. A moment later the bathroom door swung open, and Dale emerged with a towel around his waist, his hair dripping and clinging to the sides of his face. This was also the point when I realised just how ripped my roommate was. He wasn't like one of those freakishly muscular body builders you see on TV, but the muscles of his chest and arms were well defined beneath his orange, black and white fur. He caught me staring and winked.
"Like what you see?" He said jokingly, as he flexed the muscles in his chest.
"Oh shut up and put some clothes on!" I laughed, snatching up the vest he had discarded last night and throwing it at him.
"Never seen a guy naked before?" Asked Dale, turning his back and dropping his towel. At this point I had to look away.
"I try to make a habit of it!" I said, feigning disgust.
Dale laughed as he got dressed.
"You Brits are such prudes." He said. "If we're going to be living together we're going to have to get used to seeing each other naked."
"That I can live with." I said. "But don't you think bringing people back in the middle of the night is taking things a little too far?"
Dale shrugged.
"We were pretty drunk last night, and to be honest, I forgot you were here." He said.
"Don't worry about it." I said. "Gotta do it somewhere, right?"
Dale laughed.
"Sure do!" He said. "We should probably have a system in place though. Sock on the door handle?"
"I thought a sock was for the other thing." I said with a smirk.
"Don't worry about that!" Laughed Dale. "I do all my wanking in the shower."
So that was how my first day in the US started. I took a quick shower (carefully), got dressed, had some breakfast, then headed out to see the campus. I'd seen the university in pictures online, but they always tend to make these places much more attractive on the website. The pictures I'd seen had obviously been taken on a sunny day in spring, while the cherry blossoms were in bloom. Many of the trees were already starting to lose their leaves as winter approached, and the concrete buildings looked a lot less attractive in the dull light of a cloudy, autumn morning. By some miracle I managed to find the lecture theatre without any trouble. The hall was already full when I arrived, and I shuffled myself into a seat between an otter with brown fur and scruffy, blond hair (whose name I learned was Callum) and a leopard whose name I forget. I never saw her again after that first morning, and assumed she either dropped out or transferred onto another course. Looking around the room, I realised that most of the people sat here were hideously hung-over from the night before, and many had positioned themselves close to the exits for when the inevitable happened. The professor at the front of the room, and old gorilla in a tweed suit and spectacles, cleared his throat.
"Welcome to the Palaeontology programme." He said in a deep, dry voice. "Palaeontology is the study of extinct organisms, and is..."
As much as I loved the subject, hearing a man in his sixties talk about it in such an unengaging way was enough to make my mind wander. While he meticulously talked us through the ins and outs of the course we would be taking, I sat and doodled on the course handbook I had collected on my way in. By the time the lecture finished just over two hours later, the entire cover of the book was covered in a mix of comic book superheroes and random patterns. As people began to gather their things together, Callum (the otter sat to my left) leaned over.
"I was watching you draw. You're really good." He said.
I blushed a little, having always enjoyed drawing, but never really seeing myself as being very good at it.
"You think so?" I asked, as I slipped the book into my bag and stood up.
"Yeah!" Said Callum. "Hey, how about we go get some coffee before the next lecture? You seem like a pretty cool guy, and it would be cool to get to know you a bit better."
Figuring I should probably get to know some of my course mates, I accepted his offer, and we headed out of the lecture theatre together. I followed him a short way down the road to a small coffee shop on the edge of campus. It was a nice little place with a good atmosphere. Not too busy, but with enough people sitting around to give it a good vibe. We ordered coffees (I'd tried American tea at the airport and vowed never again) then got a table in the corner of the room by the window.
"Nice place." I said, taking a sip of my coffee. "You come here often?"
The otter shook his head.
"I got here from Florida last week. I walked past it a few times, but didn't want to go in by myself."
"You're from Florida? Wow! I always wanted to go there but we could never afford it." I said.
"It's overrated." Said Callum. "Full or tourists wanting to get their photo taken with Mickey Mouse."
"I can imagine." I said.
"So what's England like?" Asked Callum. "I'm assuming that's where you're from?"
I nodded.
"Overrated and full of tourists." I said, and we both laughed.
"So what made you come over here?" Asked Callum.
"The course looked good, and I wanted to see a bit more of the world while I'm still young. Plus, fieldwork in the Badlands sounded pretty awesome." I said. "How about you? It's quite a drive from Florida."
"Same reasons." Said Callum. "Plus my folks are creationists. They think I'm studying politics."
"Wow, seriously?" I said. "It must have been pretty tough growing up in a household like that."
"It was." Said Callum. "My parents think I'm a god-fearing Christian, but to be honest, I stopped believing in all that stuff years ago. Especially with being gay and all."
"You're gay?" I asked in surprise. "I honestly never would have guessed."
"Yeah. I learned to keep it under wraps while I was back home, but now I'm here I can actually be myself." Said Callum. He grinned. "Actually, you're the first person I've told."
"Well, thanks for trusting me with that." I said, being honoured that this guy I'd only just met was willing to trust me with such a big secret. Part of me wanted to tell him I was bi, but I didn't want him to think I was coming onto him.
"How about you?" Asked Callum. I suddenly tensed up at the question, and my voice went a little deeper as I responded.
"Only one team I bat for." I found myself saying. Callum smiled and nodded, but I wasn't sure if he believed me.
We spent the next couple of hours talking about everything from our likes, dislikes, past relationships and hopes for the future. I found Callum really easy to talk to, and it turned out we had a lot in common. He was a really nice guy. He was smart, funny, and a huge part of me wished I was attracted to him. But all I could think about was Dale's wet, semi-naked body from earlier, and his alluring companion with her slender form and seductive mannerisms. Eventually we finished up our coffees and headed out to the next lecture. This was on the other side of campus, but we set off so earlier that we were the first ones inside. We got some good seats right in the middle of the back row, and watched as the other students slowly filed in. This talk was specifically about the geology modules on our programme, and so there were plenty of new faces in the crowd. One of them I recognised straight away as Dale, and another as Sophie (the gazelle) who lived down the hall. They came in together, and from the way she was hanging off the tiger's arm, I figured I was probably in for another sleepless night. They didn't see me, and took seats towards the front of the room, just before the lecturer entered. This one was much younger than the last, a lynx who only looked to be in her mid-thirties. She had a slim figure, and my teenage mind struggled not to be drawn towards some of her impressive assets. My appreciation for women's rights prevented me from commenting, but I couldn't help but admire her all the same.
Once the lecture was over I said goodbye to Callum, and made my way back to my room. Dale was already there, and was laying on my bunk with his laptop balanced on his flat stomach, and a beer in his hand. He looked up and grinned.
"Hey man! How was your first day?" He asked.
"Pretty good." I replying, throwing down my bag and pulling up a seat at the room's single desk. "I saw you in the introductory lecture for geology."
"Oh sweet!" Said Dale. "I didn't know you were taking geology too!"
"Yeah, I'm majoring in palaeontology, but the geology module is compulsory. Are you taking it as your major?"
Dale took a swing of his drink and shook his head.
"I'm majoring in modern arts." He said. "I picked up geology because I heard it was pretty easy."
"That's a terrible reason to pick a module, you know." I chuckled. Dale shrugged.
"So you got any plans for tonight?" He asked.
"Not yet. Why? Were you going to invite me to something?" I replied
"Yeah, we're going to a party in one of the other dorm blocks. You're welcome to tag along." He said.
"Sure, why not?" I replied.
