So here's something that just came to me. Five minutes from the first keystroke to posting, and I think it's pretty good for something quick and unplanned. Here's Bolt's origin, his evolution and his descent into near-demonic madness.

Yeah, the other Thunderlord short I posted will probably be shifted around a good bit, chances are much closer to the present-day end of his timeline. Next one: no clue, but it's gonna be violent.

He laughed again, a mocking, self-praising laugh that just ground me further into the mud. "You really thought I gave a damn about you? You were just an easy tool to use, nothing worth any real attention. Now get outta here before I take more than just your eye, pup."

The weavile I used to call a friend kicked me in the ribs, winding me even more as I tried to stand in the pounding rain. Then he started laughing again, and something in me snapped. I don't know what it was, but I felt a flood of boiling energy rushing through me, heating my body up and driving reason and fear from my mind like shadows before the inferno. I forced myself onto my paws and snarled, blood running down my face from the wound he'd given me, and he stopped, actually considering me for a moment. "Huh. Maybe you're not as pathetic as I-"

Whatever he was planning to say next was lost as I felt an incredible surge of energy strike me, and in an instant my world was nothing but a bright white glow that faded to reveal a shocked weavile. "What the hell?!"

I looked at myself, my new yellow fur spiking from a residual electrical charge plus my own rage, and I grinned. It was an expression of such foul, sadistic malice that the poor bastard in front of me began to cower. "L-Look dude, I'm sorry, okay? We can work things out, can't we? I'll do anything you want, just don't kill me please!!"

I just stepped towards him, prompting him to scramble backwards in an attempt to keep space between us as I spoke. "You're sorry? We can work things out? If that were true, old friend," I spat the last two words, a venomous hiss that conveyed the true depth of my hatred and contempt for the worm begging me for mercy, "Then you wouldn't have done this to me in the first place. You'd have been an ass, you're not capable of anything else, but you wouldn't have betrayed me like this."

He had tripped over a rock and was scrabbling backward through the rain-drenched mud, begging, pleading, saying anything he thought would spare his life. The fool must have forgotten about the cliff as one of his claws crumbled the edge. A startled gasp, a glance away from me, and that's all I needed. In an instant Decker found himself dangling from a claw over the cliff, my paw on it to hold him there. "Please..."

Lightning flashed through the clouds, giving just enough light to see my derisive, condescending sneer looking down at him. "Give my brother my regards." And with that, I moved my paw just an inch back and lifted his claw, sending him plummeting thousands of feet to the rocks below. And as lightning flashed behind me, shining a furious flash of indignance across the cliff, I laughed. I laughed at it all - the ease of killing someone I'd trusted implicitly, the ease of his betrayal, and the ease of just giving in to the monster I'd become.

The storm had finally broken... And I was to be its herald.
