A shorty story showing off a new character of mine that I've yet to properly define.

Meeting Stynt

"Hello!"

Kargrash jumped a bit at the loud voice, waking instantly. His eyes were still seeing everything blurry, but he remembered that he had taken a nap in the park earlier that day. The orange light on the blurry figure and the even blurrier oak trees above told him that it was late afternoon. He blinked and rubbed his eyes, and when his vision finally focused, he found a large grizzly-like creature looking down over him. The creature had an unnervingly large grin and a red circle on each cheek. The irises and scleras of its eyes were pitch-black while the pupils were white.

"I, um... hello there." Kargrash quirked a brow as he sat up, yelping when the creature lunged for him, wrapping its arms tight around him.

"Yay! Will you be my friend?" the creature asked.

Kargrash blinked a bit in confusion at the question. "Uh..." he muttered. The creature released its grip and stood back a bit, shifting back and forth; he looked rather anxious. The red spots on its cheeks glowed softly. With a clear view of him, Kargrash could see that the creature was dressed in a black trenchcoat, and underneath such was a red vest with a white undershirt. "Um... I don't see why not." He extended his paw out to the creature. "I'm Kargrash. It's nice to meet you... uh..."

The creature froze, his eyes looking about the place. A nervous grin stretched across his face. "I, um... I... I'm Kargrash's friend," he said with a grin, hugging tight to the panda.

Karg slowly shifted to gently wrap his arms around the creature. "Don't have a name, hm?"

The creature froze again and shuddered. He bit his lower lip lightly, squirming as he held onto the panda. "I'm... Kargrash's friend..." he said with a light quiver in his voice.

Kargrash chuckled lightly, but went silent soon after as the creature pulled back from the hug and opened its mouth wide, keeping the panda's shoulders tight in its grip. Kargrash tried to pull away, jerking his shoulders to no avail. He pushed harder but in vain as a long snake-like tongue worked its way out and wrapped Karg up before quickly hoisting him up above the grizzly-like creature's maw. "Wait! You don't have to do that!" he exclaimed while squirming about, trying to break free as his feet were worked into that slimy opening.

The creature's cheeks started to glow a bright red again before he pulled hard with its tongue to swallow the panda down.

Karg yelped at the sudden yank. The warm flesh had a bit of resistance, but it wasn't long before he slipped into darkness. He slid down for a long time considering the creature's size. After what seemed like a rather long time, the flesh would open up a bit and get a bit harder. The panda started to slide around and around over and over again like he was on a large tube slide. Finally, he was tossed out onto a large, soft mat with an audible *oof* escaping his maw.

"Kargrash!"

The panda lifted his head and looked around where he was. The floor just beyond the mat he was sitting on consisted of simple hardwood and the 'walls' were made from doors: hundreds of them in all shapes and sizes. They seemed to stretch upward for quite a ways into a black abyss. The large circular room had a single chair in the center and a small circular trap door in the floor directly in front of it. In the chair sat the creature who had just swallowed him down.

The creature immediately sprung up and ran over to the panda, hugging him tight, his belly pressing against the panda's own. A loud creaking reverberated throughout the room.

Karg yelped as he was held and blinked a bit confused as he looked to the doors; they seemed to be bulging inward as if something from outside was pressing against them. "I... um, hello again. Did you have to eat me?"

The creature tilted his head. "What does 'eat' mean?"

Karg gave him a quizzical look. "You opened your mouth and swallowed me down. Usually folks consider that 'eating something'."

The creature nodded. "But I pulled you in. Does 'eating' mean pulling Kargrash inside, too?" he asked, looking quite confused.

"Uh, no. Eating is just an action..." Karg sighed lightly and reached to rub his head. His paw brushed against the creature's gut, making it wobble softly. He yelped when he spotted the wall next to them rippling in the same way.

"I don't get it." He hugged the panda tight once again, forcing the doors to bend and contort yet more, similar to what the first hug with the creature had done to the doors.

"What is that?" Karg muttered. He wriggled his way out of the creature's grip and pushed on the soft plush gut. His jaw dropped as he saw a large bulge in the shape of his paw from on the wall to his right, bending the wall of doors in a rubber-like, almost cartoonish manner. "Huh?" He rubbed his eyes a bit with his free paw to make sure he was seeing clearly.

"What's the matter?" the creature asked, looking over at the bulge of the wall.

"I'm just a bit confused. I'm inside you, but... not?" he held his head as his mind tried to wrap around that. The creature grabbed and held him tight again.

"Hehe, it doesn't matter. I've got my friend here," he said, smilling and holding the panda tight.

"Well um... out of curiosity, which way to the exit?" Kargrash let out a yelp as the grip on him got tighter.

"But... why do you wanna leave?" the creature asked.

"Oh, no, no. I just wanna know for when I'm done hanging out with you." The panda slowly wrapped his arms around the creature to hold him gently.

"But... I don't want you to leave..." he said. "You never have to leave, Kargrash. You're my friend."

Kargrash breathed a little sigh and rubbed his paw up and down the creature's back. "Well, I wanna get out of here eventually. Not right now, but this place is a little..."

The creature squeezed a bit tighter. "Kargrash... never has to leave." He let out an audible sniffle. Something wet dripped onto Kargrash's shoulder. He moved his paw up and reached around the creature's head to wipe his own shoulder. He held it in front of him to observe what the substance was. Expecting a tear, he blinked in confusion when he saw a black, inky substance on his fingers. The creature sniffled again and gently quivered. "I don't want Kargrash to leave." He squeezed Kargrash even tighter; a loud pop emanated from the panda before he let go, looking worried. "What was that?"

Karg coughed and shifted a bit. "I'm all right. It was just my back popping." He saw remaining "tears" on the grizzly-like creature. Black. Opaque. Specular. The white pupils in the creatures eyes had been blotted by the inky tears. Despite this, he leaned up and sofly hugged the creature again. "Though, I think I need a name for you. Can't just call you 'Hey, you' or 'the creature'."

"I'm Kargrash's friend..." he muttered again as he held onto the panda.

Kargrash chuckled and gave the creature a few pats on the back. "Can't just call you 'Kargrash's friend', either. I think I know what to do, but I do kinda need to get back outside to do it. Which way to the exit?" he asked politely while nuzzling the creature's cheek. A few more black tears streamed down soon after.

The grizzly-like creature gripped Karg tight. "I don't want you to go..." he whimpered and curled up tight.

"Please?" Karg asked politely. He kept his head leaned against the creature's. He inhaled deeply and let out a long sigh, then yelped as he was picked up and carried off by the creature who, not seeming to exert any effort to do so, held him over a now open trapdoor on the floor. "Thank you," Karg said before being dropped down into the vast expanse, soon finding himself being squeezed out of the creature's backside. The black speedo-like clothing was pulled out of the way to let him go. The panda slid out and flopped onto the ground. His fur was dry and no musky scent had stuck to him.

"You're gonna run now, right?" the creature asked, his head low and his shoulders slumped. Kargrash turned around to face him, seeing that the white pupils had returned to the creature's eyes. He stood up. He stayed there, not taking even a single step away from the creature.

"No, I want to help, but I don't think I can do so alone," Karg said. He gently swept the creature up into his arms. "I'm going to carry you back to my place, have my buddies over for you to meet them, and we'll see about getting you a name."

The creature's wide smile slowly returned as he leaned into the bear's furry chest. "Okay, Kargrash," he said. His cheeks glowed a soft red as he was carried off.

"I do have one idea. I don't know if my buddies will agree, but... how about 'Eric'?" he suggested.

"Well... maybe..." the creature said.

"What about... 'Damien'?"

He shook his head.

"Uh... 'Michael'?"

He shook his head again.

"Hmm... what about... 'Stynt'?"

"Maybe..." the creature responded.

"We'll see what my buddies think. I don't think it sounds too bad a name." He looked at Stynt and smiled, seeing him smile in return, his cheeks glowing once again.

"Kargrash?"

"Yes?"

"Please don't leave me," Stynt said while getting a bit cozier in the panda's cozy grip.

"Hehe, I won't, not until you feel comfy being out and about on your own." He smiled and continued on his way, ready to introduce Stynt to a group of potential companions who would never leave him.
