"Yeah, it happens out in Vegas happens in Moline On the blue blood streets of Boston Up in Berkeley and out in Queens And it went on yesterday and it's going on tonight Somewhere there's somebody ain't treatin' somebody right"

Bob Seger - "The Fire Down Below"

Street lights flickered as the last rays of sunlight disappeared from Silver City. The sprawling metropolis was now lit up with the lights from thousands of apartment buildings and the untold number of cars going from place to place. Like any large city, the area was filled with wealthy, affluent neighborhoods, the business district, parks, bars, banks, restaurants and everything else that made a city a city, and just like every major city, there were the less than desirable places, the less than desirable elements that nobody wanted to talk about, nor even acknowledge, but whether or not they were acknowledged by the good citizens of Silver City, they still existed.

Rosie, a middle-aged tigress dressed in clothes that let everyone know exactly what her occupation was rummaged around in her purse for some mints. She'd smoked her fourth menthol cigarette in only twenty minutes, and she didn't want potential clients to be turned off by her tobacco breath.

"Shit," she said, growling. The tigress turned to look at Nancy, a much younger lioness that she had taken as her protege. "You got any mints, Nancy honey?"

Nancy quickly withdrew a container of mints from her purse and passed them over to Rosie. "Thanks, doll." said the tigress before giving the mints back to their owner.

"Friday night," said Nancy, seeing the cars drive past the street corner she and Rosie were occupying. "Gonna be busy."

"Friday nights always are," said Rosie. "Guys just finished their work week; lot of 'em just got their paychecks. Stands to reason they might want to pay for some company."

"Saturday gonna be busier?" asked Nancy as she adjusted her mini-skirt.

"Depends," said Rosie. "Never anyway to really know, unless it's a holiday weekend. Got a good chance that guys will be with their families. Makes it kind of hard to sneak away from the wife and kids to go get some."

"Guess so," said Nancy. The young lioness suddenly became alarmed when she saw a police cruiser coming by. The clothing she and her older mentor were wearing would be a dead give away as to their occupation.

"Just stay calm, honey," said Rosie, giving the younger female a smirk. She walked up to the police car as it came to a stop. The passenger window of the front came down and the tigress saw a male wolf officer was driving.

"Evening, officer," said Rosie. "Anything we can do for you?"

The wolf had several years on the job, and he knew right away what she and Nancy were up to, but he still had to go through the routine. "You ladies mind telling me what you're up to?"

"Just looking to keep some nice guy company," said Rosie, still smirking.

"Right," said the wolf sarcastically. "Would those guys have to pay for your company by any chance?"

"Officer," said Rosie, trying to work her feminine charm on the canine. "If you have a problem with what we're doing, then you need to talk to Detective Sokolov over at the seventh precinct."

"Sokolov?" said the wolf, scratching his chin. "Is he the guy that . . ."

"Oh yes," said Rosie. "Mind if I get something from my purse to show you?"

"Go ahead," said the wolf, never once talking his eyes off of the tigress. "No sudden movement."

"Here you go, Officer . . ."

"Carlin," said the wolf, taking the card from the tigress. He flipped the card over, reading both the front and back of it. "I see," he said. "Well, you two ladies have a good evening and stay safe."

"Oh," laughed Rosie. "I know how to take care of myself, Officer Carlin. You have a good night."

"Alright," he said, turning his attention to Nancy, who had been silent during the entire encounter. "What's your name, ma'am?"

"Nancy," said the nervous lioness.

"Nancy," said Officer Carlin, giving her a toothy grin like only a wolf could. "Here's my card," he said, giving her his own business card. "If you're looking for some company from a nice guy later on tonight, just give me a call, okay?"

"Sure," said Nancy, feeling the tension from her body ease as she shot him a smile. "Hope to see you again."

"Me too," said the wolf. "Well, I gotta go now, but I'll see you later, okay?"

"Alright," said Nancy, still smiling at the wolf.

Rosie and Nancy watched as the car window rolled up and Officer Carlin took off down the street.

"Not bad," said Rosie. "Looks like you're getting at least one tonight."

"And from a cop," said Nancy, looking back at the card the wolf had given her. "Kinda surprised by that."

"Oh honey," said Rosie, putting her arm around the young lioness. "He's a male, and like all males, they have needs."

"Guess so," said Nancy, smiling at the older tigress.

Blocks away from where Nancy and Rosie were stationed to solicit clients, a tall, broad-shouldered panther sat at his usual table at Harvey's Bar. It had been a good night for him so far. After playing over a dozen hands of poker, he had accumulated three grand in winnings and showed no sign of his luck turning for the worse. He tapped his white shoe covered feet that matched his suit and fedora against the floor as he revealed his winning hand to his fellow poker players.

"Read 'em and weep, gentleman," said the panther calmly.

"Royal flush," said a cheetah, shaking his head in disbelief as he dropped his cards. "I thought you were bluffing, Sweet Pea."

"That was your bad luck," said the panther, gathering up his earnings. "And my good fortune." He looked around the table at other three cats he'd been playing cards with. "Anybody wanna try their luck again."

"I'm out," said the cheetah. "Outta luck and almost outta money."

"Same here," said chubby jaguar.

"I'll be broke if I play another round with you," observed a lanky cougar.

"Hey," said the panther. "At least let me buy you a round of drinks, okay?'

The felines, who'd all gotten up to leave, sat back down. Sweat Pea turned his head to face the bar at the front. "Hey Harv," he yelled.

An old lion with an eye patch yelled back at him. "Whatchya want?"

"Round of whatever these gentleman want. Put it on my tab, would you?"

"Sure thing," said the lion.

"Gotta hand it to you," said the cheetah. "You're pretty generous after winning all our green."

"Never been a sore loser," said the panther. "What'll you have, Frank?"

Frank the cheetah answered. "Scotch on the rocks."

The others in attendance gave their orders to Harvey as he walked over to hear what they wanted. Sweet Pea just leaned back in his chair, content with the night's outcome.

"You havin' anything, Sweet?" asked Frank the cheetah.

"Nah," said the panther, stilling reclining in his chair. "I gotta take care of some stuff later tonight."

"Business?" said the cheetah. "What kind of business?"

"Usual stuff," said the panther. "Gotta check the books to see if I'm making a profit."

"Say," said Frank, receiving his Scotch on the rocks when Harvey came back. "What business you in anyway?"

Sweat Pea bit his lower lip softly. "Oh, investments."

"Investments?" asked the chubby jaguar.

"Got some money from a rich uncle after he died," said the panther. "I'm just trying to make the money work for me, and not the other way around."

"You sure worked us out of our money tonight, Sweet," said the cougar right before taking a swig of his mug of beer. "That's for damned sure."

"Guess I'm lucky," said the panther.

It was now one in the morning, and Nancy had been separated from Rosie, who'd been much busier with clients that night. Though she was much younger, the lioness didn't have the tigress's years of experience out in the field that allowed her customers to keep coming back. She was just about to call it a night, when a car rolled up beside her and rolled down the window.

"Hey, good looking," called a voice from inside the vehicle.

Nancy turned her head around at the voice. Looking inside the car, she smiled back. "Officer Carlin."

"Mike," said the wolf. By this time, the wolf was in a civilian vehicle and out of his uniform. "Still got time for me?"

It was late, but Nancy wanted to keep her promise to the officer. "Sure," she said. "Where to?"

"My place," said the wolf.

"Alright," said Nancy. "Promise you won't bust me?"

"I wouldn't do that," said Mike, reaching over and opening the passenger door for her. "I promise."

"Well, alright then," said Nancy as she got in the car and shut the door. "You live very far from here?"

"Just a few blocks," said Mike as he brought the car back out into traffic again.

"Nice guy like you, I'd figure you'd be in the suburbs," said Nancy.

"I was," said Mike. "Divorced five years ago."

"And she got the house?" asked Nancy.

"And the kids," said Mike, sighing.

"Don't worry about her," said Nancy. "I'll make you forget all about her really soon."

"That's what I'm hoping," said Mike, momentarily looking at her with his wolfish grin.

Officer Carlin lived in a cheap, one bedroom apartment that had seen better days. Despite the low rent atmosphere, Nancy found the place was clean and organized.

"I expected a bachelor pad to be messy," said the lioness.

"Not mine," said Mike, hanging his and Nancy's jacket up on the hall tree next to the door. "I've always been pretty neat and tidy."

"Lucky me," said the lioness. "So, is your bedroom this clean?"

"It is," said the wolf, opening the bedroom door for her. "Though I hope that you'll help me make it a little messy."

"I can give you a hand in that department," said Nancy.

The lioness followed the wolf into his bedroom, and indeed, it was clean and organized, with the bed having been neatly made the previous day. Mike sat down on the edge of the bed.

"So," said the wolf. "What's this going to cost me?"

"Two hundred," said the lioness.

"Two hundred?" said Mike, his ears drooping at the requested sum.

"Normally it would," said Nancy. "But I'm under strict orders. Police officer's special, so you only pay half."

"I can do that," said Mike, opening the drawer to his nightstand. "I've got rubbers if you don't."

"I always carry protection," said the lioness, sitting down next to him. "But if you have a favorite brand, by all means, use it."

The wolf grinned once more at the young lioness. "Well, then, let's not waste anymore time."

The two beasts removed their clothing, and it took almost no time at all before Mike was aroused enough to roll the condom down his lupine length. Nancy reached in between his legs, stroking his manly member.

"I can tell I'm going to enjoy this too," said the lioness.

"Glad to hear that," said the wolf. "Can I confess something to you?"

"Go right ahead, sugar," said the lioness, fluttering her eyelashes at him.

"I've . . . I've always had a thing for female lions," said Mike, somewhat sheepishly. "You're . . . you're just so good looking."

"Thank you," said Nancy, putting her arms around the big wolf. Mike shuddered as he felt the plump, firm naked breasts of the feline shove up against his chest. He put his own arms around Nancy, letting his paws squeeze at her bare butt. She was so young, so sensual. He looked into her feline eyes and saw that she was ready for him. Gently, he pushed her down on the bed, letting her lie on her back as he crawled on top of her. Nancy moaned as she spread her legs, inviting the male wolf to insert himself into her vaginal folds. She taken a few cocks earlier that night, but they were all dwarfed by what the wolf police officer was packing. She arched her back as inch by inch, the wolf inserted himself until he was balls deep inside of the lioness.

"Fuck, you're big," said Nancy in a hushed voice.

"Glad you like it," said the wolf, who went to work thrusting in and out of the lioness. The veteran police officer had been without a regular bed mate since his divorce, but all the lonely nights he'd spent here in this room seemed like a distant memory to him. Here he was, fucking a young, gorgeous lioness, and he didn't care that she was a prostitute. He'd longed to share his bed with a female lion, and now that he was doing it, he regretted nothing. He moved his paws onto Nancy's naked breasts, squeezing them and making her moan from the intimate contact. Like most ladies of the evening, the lioness didn't like to be kissed, but made no effort to stop the wolf as he licked her face affectionately. Rosie had warned her about this, but she couldn't help it. She was falling in love with the wolf. Despite his agreement to pay for the sex, she could tell that there was something different about him. He wasn't b3eing rough with her, wasn't abusing her. He was making sweet, tender love to her. In between thrusts, she leaned her head up, whispering into his ear.

"I love you, Mike," said the loiness.

"I love you too, Nancy," answered the wolf back in her ear.

With that out of the way, Nancy opened her mouth, letting the wolf's long, wet tongue rub against her much drier tongue. Both the wolf and lioness moaned as they kept at their love-making, wanting it to never end. Mike pulled out of the lioness for a while. He took a paw and rubbed at her clitoris, making sure that she too was experiencing the same boundless pleasure he felt. Nancy reached a paw down to the wolf's cock, pulling off the condom. Mike gave her a funny look.

"You sure about that?" he asked her, stroking her head fur.

"Positive," she said. "I don't want to reject your essence."

"Whatever you want, my lovely lioness," said the wolf, re-entering her pussy.

Nancy again moaned as the big lupine cock was inserted inside of her. She offered no resistance as Mike again went to the hilt, burying his member inside of her. Nancy could feel her own orgasm fast approaching as the lupine prick drove her closer and closer to that point. The lioness leaned her head back groaning louder than ever before as the climax washed over her body. If this wasn't enough, Mike held his head high in the air as he dumped his load deep inside of the lioness. He slowed down his fucking until he had completely stopped and rolled off of Nancy. The panting wolf was met with Nancy's head nuzzling his muzzle lovingly. Still panting, he closed his eyes as the lioness rubbed her paws over his chest and stomach.

"That was wonderful," said Mike. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," said Nancy. "Guess I can't charge you now, huh?"

"On the contrary," said Mike. "I'd probably give you whatever you want after that little romp."

Nancy laughed. "I might need it to get out of the life."

Mike's dreams felt like they might be shattered at that moment. He hadn't thought about what it might take to get Nancy away from her pimp. He rolled over on his side, looking her in the face. "Whatever it takes, I'll help get you out of this, Nancy."

"I'll sure need your help, Mike," said the lioness, her voice showing definite concern. "Not sure how pleased Sweet Pea will be when he hears I'm in love with a trick."

"I'll just have to have a talk with him," said the wolf, growing confident. "Where's he at, anyway?"

The lioness saw her new boyfriend get off the bed and collect his clothes. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, Mike."

"Why not?" said the wolf. "He's just a low-life pimp, Nancy."

"He's way more than that, Mike," said the lioness. "You remember how Rosie told you we were under Detective Sokolov's protection."

"Yeah?" said Mike, putting his pants back on. "Should I talk to him first or something?"

"That's just it," said a frowning Nancy.

Mike was completely confused. "What's just it?"

"Sweet Pea is Detective Sokolov," said the lioness.

"What?" said Mike, stopping in the middle of putting his clothes back on.

"Detective-Lieutenant Peter Sokolov," said Nancy. "I don't know how a patrolman is going to convince a boss, especially a corrupt one, to give me up so easily."

Mike sat back down on the bed, putting his arm around his new girlfriend. "I'll think of something, baby. I'll think of something."

Nancy held him tightly, hoping he was right.
