Black Velvet
Not to be confused with the song.
Here we see the emerging figure of Black Velvet in the world of Dion, haunting around Morpheus' stomping grounds, with an eye (And tongue) on the more affluent figures in the city.
Can the hero stop him before the hungry kitsune strikes again?
Black Velvet belongs to Taluthus

With a soft creak of leather, the three-tailed kitsune's form settled into his chair. The firm wood scraping on the tiled floor of the cafe as he drew it in closer to his table. Tugging the newspaper he'd purchased from beneath the arm of his black and blue jacket to read, he idly tossed a stray lock of his similarly shaded, lengthy hair from his face, before he perused the front page. It was a little difficult not to smirk.
The main spread of the front page, taken up by a rather haunting picture. The face of an older dingo, wedged among thick, slick and black walls, with a purple tongue wrapped about their muzzle.Their eyes were blurred out, obscurring a decent portion of the face. Though the terror was undoubtedly muted, it was unmistakable for their peril: They were being devoured.
The headline over it, emblazoned in red. "Black Velvet Strikes again." 'Police have been left baffled, and scrambling for answers in the latest disappearance of one of the city's more affluent figures. Leigh Bandell, head of Silver Vines pty (pictured above) has not been seen in public since tuesday night.' The article read.
'I imagine not.' Thought Taluthus, crossing his heavy-booted feet at the ankle as his thoughts passed to the memory of that dingo descending his gullet proper. He shifted with a low mrrl of pleasure. One of his pointed ears perked as a cup was eased onto his table, wafting pleasantly of fresh brewed coffee. Lifting it to his lips to take a soft sip, he gave a small smile to the young lepine waitress who'd delivered it, and a nod. She returned it, though her eyes hesitated on the paper in his hands.
'Another one..? It's dreadful, isn't it..? What a terrifying way to go.' She murmured in a hushed tone, as though the villain in question would overhear her. Little though she knew that he did. 'I hope the police find him soon.' She said, giving another tremulous smile, hurrying back behind the bar to get to work on her next order.
The kitsune's eyes followed her retreating form, with the grin he'd been trying to supress finally breaking through. He took another sip of his coffee to hide it, returning to his reading. The efforts the police were going to, the bizarre string of disappearances.. Bandell made the fifth one in a month. But detectives had no clues. No hair, no fingerprints, nothing, in the houses of those that had gone missing.. Not of the mysterious Black Velvet, at the least.
It had started with the vixen, a well-to-do and rather well connected entreprenuer. Her business was well on the up and up, much as she, with what security her house had, had been well on the down and down. She'd struggled so deliciously, her screams still reverberated his body as he lingered on the taste she'd left in his mouth.
From there, an Armadillo, rather more cautious of himself. His entourage of security and servants were still under scrutiny, for anything they might have seen. Not that any of them had seen a thing..
The bull, and then that delectable wolfess. After three others had vanished, those with a few dollars under their belt had gotten understandably a little more nervous and cautious about themselves. That had been a challenge.. But she'd let her guard down in her bedroom. And like the others before her, had ended up a dwindling bulge in the kitsune's stomach. Taluthus lazily ground a hand over his stomach, kneading gently with a soft shiver running through him.
With each nefarious victory, Black Velvet had been careful to linger the last few moments of his target's ingestion. He'd taken pictures, of every single one. And left them behind for the servants, and ultimately the police to find. His calling card, and an impish, callous 'fuck you' to the law, helpless to stop him.
'At this stage, police are calling on anyone with any information to contact this number, and to be wary at night.' The kitsune turned the page, shaking his head with a grin. They could be wary all they liked, it would be a cold day in hell before they managed to catch him.
As he scanned the next page for the continuing story, Tal's eyes fell upon another picture. A separate story, showing a snowy-furred rabbit in a handsomely cut suit. He was cutting the ribbon over the front door of a new hospital. He knew who he was without needing to read the caption. Anyone who knew anything about the city would recognise Teio Hunter.
He lifted his eyes from the paper, to peer out the large window of the cafe. He could see the buck's workplace from where he sat: the tall and dark mirrored surface of Hunter Inc. stylishly designed and modern, proud at the heart of the city. The kitsune's stomach gave a soft rumble. He'd found his next target. With a figure that influential, it was bound to be fun, getting to him..
'And you actually printed the picture!?' the brown-furred rabbit shouted into his phone, eyes fixed on the pictures strewn over his desk. The office around him, neatly kept, filing cabinets along one wall, awards, merits, news clippings and mug shots along another. His desk was wide, the space was necessary for the paperwork that was stacked on it. Files, and information and leads. 'Are you out of your god-damned gourd, Barty?! We don't need something like this being blown out of control. If the bastard hits again, people are liable to start panicking!' 'It's good for business.' Responded the voice on the phone, making the buck in blue glare daggers at the imagined face of the media-head. 'Plus it helps put a warning out. People like to know what's going on.' They were almost amused by the tone of the police-chief. 'Not if they know it could up and murder them! If I see one more printed word about this case, without having been talked to about it before hand, I'll have yours and Benji's heads!!'
The rabbit slammed the phone down, scattering the pictures, and taking several moments to breathe with closed eyes. It had been a rather harrowing month, to say the least. As someone knocked at the door, he straightened up, adjusting his tie and stepping around his desk. 'Come in.' He growled, watching the door open, and a familiar figure stepped in. Taller by a couple of inches, walking with an easier grace, even for the slightly stuffier nature of the suit he wore. The snowy furred rabbit looked over the police chief, able to see without issue, the shadows under his eyes, the slight unkempt nature of the buck's goatee and uniform and the tell-tale twitch of his tail-spade.
Crossing the room, Teio took the police chief's outstretched hand, and leaned in, giving a one armed hug about the shoulders of his younger brother. 'From your modest tones, and that nostalgic tail-twitch, I take it the twins have been giving you a run-around?' the snowy furred buck asked mildly, his lip curving slightly. 'To say the least. I'd throttle the both of them, given the chance.' 'Well, save that for a family get-together. So, why all did you call this one, then?' Teio asked, following Devlin as the police chief eased back around his desk and sank into his chair with a groan. 'To make sure you were alright.' Devlin said, rubbing a hand over his face, pinching the corners of his eyes. 'With this Black Velvet loon on the loose, I had to make sure everyone was safe. ..Or as safe as they can be.' 'Well, as you can see, I'm quite whole and hearty.' Teio smiled bolsteringly, settling into a chair opposite the chief's desk and opening his arms.
'For now.' Devlin frowned. 'From the disappearances, it's pretty clear he's only interested in the powerful sorts. And I wouldn't put it passed him to make an attempt on you. I'd feel better if there were a few of my men on sight to keep an eye on you.' Teio's head quirked and he furrowed a brow. 'I think your men could be put to better use than babysitting me, Devlin. Have you extended the courtesy to Alex and Trisha as well?' Devlin's face soured a little. 'Alex declined, and as for Trisha, she's got all the protection she needs.' The chief growled again. 'Then I believe I will have to join that particular bandwagon, and turn you down. If you're that adamant that I get some more security, then I already well know who I'm going to ask.' Teio smiled lightly, and bracing instinctively. Devlin's temple twitched.
'You can't be serious, Teio. Trusting this to some vigilante like that?' Devlin glared, leaning forwards. 'This, being my life. Which you might recall he has had a hand in saving more than once.' Teio retorted, inclining his head. 'I respect your desire to protect us all, Dev', you work harder than most all of us put together. But in something like this, I'm inclined to go for the help that works for ideals. Not money.' Devlin's eyes flashed, and Teio well expected his sibling to begin another shouting match. Instead, the brown-furred rabbit sat back in his chair.
'..Fine.' The officer said simply in defeat. Exhaling, Teio rose from his chair, and considered the slightly sagged form of the police chief, he eased around the table, to rest a hand on his sibling's shoulder. 'It's not you I don't trust, Dev', you know that. ..Get yourself some rest. I'll be fine.' Turning on a heel, Teio eased from the police chief's office, Devlin's tired eyes watching after the taller form closing the door behind him. 'I hope so.'
It had taken some time to tail his target. He knew where the rabbit worked, that much was the easy part. It had taken several days of staking the large building out to get the chance to follow Teio. Having eluded suspicion in his task, with his time-tested means of shape-shifting. It wasn't people that watched the large building, but quite unnoticable things in the alleyway outside the great building. An aged box, or a trashcan.. He'd had to at least twice, pack away a snooping vagrant who'd tugged his 'lid' free, and once even a stray raccoon. He was uncertain if anyone had noticed the trashcan belching..
But finally, he'd spotted the rabbit, arriving not, as he'd usually done in a care with tinted windows, but a powerful motorcycle. The sound alone was easy to trace.. And that afternoon, upon Teio's return home, Tal'd stolen after him, discovering the sizeable apartments he'd driven his bike into. If not for the subtlety he was going for, he could well have imagined himself in the handsome jacket the buck had been wearing..
The following morning, the mail arrived, with a sizeable package for one of the tennants of the tennants in the lower levels. The postman, getting through the security doors flanked by two sizeable security guards who checked his ID, with the large box on a trolley, carefully settling it down before getting to work, putting letters to apartment numbers, and seeing himself out. From there, it had been child's play for the kitsune taking his normal shape to take the elevator up to a higher floor, and steal into an empty apartment. It wasn't the first lock he'd picked..
From the balcony, he listened carefully. Silence from the one above him. He climbed with ease up onto it, and just a floor below the penthouse, smirked as he heard the footsteps of a patrolling security guard.. Ears twitching, they followed the footsteps leading away, and up he climbed again, over the railing of the pent-house. It was an expansive part of the apartment roof, with a pool large, lapping up against the glass-wall edge of the balcony.. Several large windows peered out over the city and harbour, revealing the expensive interior, done in a simple, but striking black and white, with a spattering of red. He could see the security guard strolling out of sight further along the balcony, and smirking, the kitsune snuck up towards one of the large windows.. A little trickier, but he soon eased through the window, wetting his lips as he stayed low, considering the room.
An office, with floating shelves with a number of books, a couple of pieces of dashing art-work, a glass-top desk and lighter chair.. and a rather comfortable looking, plush recliner. Narrowing his eyes, Black Velvet grinned.
'Perfect.' he whispered, creeping towards the couch and easing onto it. It would take some doing, he thought as he relaxed. The leather covering his form seemed to meld with the plush leather of the couch. He couldn't very well throw the couch off the building, he would have to make do, trying to break it down and using it as a base to imitate..
His head eased back, slowly sinking into the leather with a grin, with the blue portions of his outfit, the spikes, and his tails all sluicing out of sight. Now all he needed to do, was wait.
Mercifully, it had been a quiet few days after the last incident. There was plenty of talk in the media going on, and plenty of gossip on the streets, most leaning towards who was going to be next. Turning off the television, Teio shook his head with a frown and eased to his feet, scooping a paper from the table before him. His toes curled among the plush white carpeting, before he padded on through the spacious expanse of his apartment. To say the least, pent house living was magnificent for the sight, and the solitude, when one needed a quiet escape. The security stationed outside the door hadn't reported anything odd, and the hyenid figure in black that had shadowed one of the walls, keeping an eye on the buck, followed in his wake.
The rabbit's scarlet eyes passed over the pool out on the balcony, overlooking the glittering lights of the city otherwise blanketed by night. It was one of the sights that made him smile fondly, and proudly. He stopped at his make-shift office, stepping in and pausing, looking to the tall form that had flanked him.
'I'd prefer some privacy, at least for a little, tonight.' The large figure nodded gently, earning a light clap on the shoulder. 'And my appologies for keeping you up so late..' 'It's fine. All part of the job, and if you're sure?' The hyenid asked lightly, taking a moment to peer passed the rabbit. He apparently couldn't make out anything suspicious. 'You'll be right here, after all. I'm sure.' Teio smirked, closing the door behind him as the disguised hero settled in place outside it. Teio softly cricked his neck, sighing a little bit as he looked around the office as well, clicking on the light switch. He knew it, and how he left it, and he could tell there was nothing out of place.
He considered the stiffer backed chair behind the glass desk, but having been settled behind one of those all day, he opted for his recliner, sinking down onto it. Shirtless, he appreciated the cool leather against his fine fur, taking a breath of the familiar musk as the thick stuff creaked. His weight settled him in, sinking down a ways that made him smile. reaching for the lever to the plush recliner's side, he sighed as he settled back to a more comfortable angle, adjusting the paper to read in the warm light.
The black jaws faced him from the front page once more. The face of a couple of the other people that had gone missing making for a somewhat haunting image. He shook his head softly. He knew most of the figures that had been snagged. The wolfess, and the Vixen were somewhat poignant for him. The latter a modest figure, who did work to help people out, the former, an excellent business rival..
'A damned shame..' Teio murmured with a slight shiver, turning the page and continuing to read. 'If devlin really wants to help me out, he can hurry up and catch this lunatic..' The snowy rabbit kept reading, switching pages every so often, sunk well into the couch. Despite the warmth of it against his form, he found himself shivering again. The corner of the newspaper ruffled gently, making him frown.. Closing the paper, glancing at the face of the vixen in that gullet, he turned his gaze towards the window, where a soft breeze lapped gently at the light curtains.
'I didn't leave that o-' Teio murmured, freezing as he caught a flash of purple out of his peripheral vision. Head turning sharply, he gasped, finding the top of his couch deforming, and stretching.. A head poked out of it, vulpine, with long black and blue hair that seemed merged with the leather. The figure's jaws were gaping wide, inky black within. The rest of the couch was roiling under him, slimming. The plush arms became jacketed arms that latched around his torso and arms whilst the seat and footrest oozing into a lap and legs and thick, spikey boots. The latter lurched around, wrapping about his legs, pinning his feet to the floor under his heavy treads.
The rabbit gave a startled yell at the sudden shift. His attempt to spring up from the kitsune defeated easily by the taut grip Black Velvet held him with. The kitsune's tongue lashed out, about Teio's neck and face, and dragged him into the steamy, stiffling embrace of his powerful gullet without delay. Leaning forward off his eagerly waving tails, the Kitsune hunched, slurping down the bound rabbit's shoulders and torso, grinning widely. It was almost too easy.
Until the door flung open. The black clothing of the hyenid security guard rolling into the stark suit of Morpheus, who stared for a split second at the kitsune in the middle of devouring the snowy rabbit. Tal cursed to himself, trying to swallow harder, and clamber for the window, as the hero launched after him.
'He's here!' the hero shouted, moving just a shade faster than the villain. He grabbed at Teio's writhing feet, pulling firmly. He grunted, realizing the grip the gullet held the struggling lapine with, as Black velvet snarled around his meal, gripping at the would-be hero's wrists. His tails spread out, trying to wind around the caped figure, to push him back, that he might finish. The extra appendages were met by a sleek one in kind. Blue, and thin, apparently made of the hyenolf's cape. It had split, and like the rest of his suit, was easily controlled.
'Bad move..!' the hybrid growled as his gauntlets and boots glowed. There was a momentary flash as the intruder was hit by an intense rush of electricity through the trio of tendrils. The Kitsune's body went rigid, before slumping forwards, those tails drooping back, slackened.
Panting, Morpheus took the opportunity to haul Teio back. Even with the kitsune apparently out for the count, his gullet was still very powerful.. But at long last, with a great wet 'shluurrk!' Teio lay on the carpet, fur heavily matted with saliva. Hefting the rabbit over his shoulder, the hyenolf hurried the buck from the office, to the loungeroom, easing him down to sit at the foot of it. Stooping, he checked the lapes vitals carefully.
'Teio..! Are you alright?' the hero murmured, wincing. It was always a risk, giving villains a shock in those sorts of situations. The rabbit gave a little jerk, groaning blearily. He twitched a little, body still reacting to the shock he'd received by proxy. 'The-.. hell was th-that..' He spluttered a little lamely, trying to get up, only for the hyenolf to press him down. 'Relax, you're alright. I got you out.' 'And Velvet..?' Teio groaned gently, shivering for the chill air on his slick fur. 'Down for the count. Best let Devlin know.' smiled the hero, 'Stay here. I'm going to get him bound up..' Morpheus murmured, standing and making back for the office. '..Like I have a choice.' Teio murmured. His body felt completely drained, he could scarcely lift a finger.
But stepping into the office, the hybrid's eyes widened. The kitsune he'd left in a heap on the floor, was no where to be seen. The window still open, Morpheus rushed to it, looking about anxiously. One of the outdoor guards was at the railing, staring over it.
'Where is he?!' the hyenolf shouted as he vaulted the window. The tall lion pointed down, drawing the hero's attention. He had to squint, catching sight of the leather clad kitsune staggering some, vaulting over a rooftop, leaping the span between buildings with practiced deftness. '..Damnit..! Look after Teio!' And leaping off the balcony, the hero soared in pirsuit of the kitsune, eyes narrowed.
The kitsune groaned as he ran. His body didn't want to agree with him, muscles taking all the strength he could muster to keep moving. Like being on the receiving end of a full body hug from a tazer, it left him feeling a bit like goo. Much like that rabbit should have been.
Black Velvet's teeth gritted with frustration. He'd been doing so well, those hapless people having been claimed effortlessly. All for naught, now. His perfect streak marred by the interference of that blasted hero.
He knew of course, about Morpheus' abilities. At the least, what the media showed, or the hero himself had displayed in action above and around the city.. He knew well the hyena wasn't liable to give up the chase once his.. friend? Was out of harm's way. Dropping from a larger leap, rolling to his feet smoothly and keeping the momentum going, he growled, hearing the voice of the hero shouting to one of those useless security guards in the distance. He didn't have long, and the nearest means of proper escape was well out of reach, at least in this condition.
He hopped the top of the roof he was in, boots scraping along the wall of the building opposite him, until they crashed onto the metal grating of the apartment's fire escape. Hopping, vaulting stairs, he grit his teeth, trying not to crash into the railings, as his legs wobbled. One last leap, saw him rolling once more, down through an alleyway. His eyes glancing back swiftly before he stooped beside a pair of trashcans. The Kitsune frowned, pushing his back against the rendered wall and hugging his arms about himself, focusing. His ability to shift at the least, seemed unimpeded by that lingering shock. He worked hard to abate his panting, swallowing and growling a little. The taste of the rabbit lingered on his lips, making his stomach groan..
But it faded, his limbs merged in together, with his body rounding out. His eyes lidding, ears splaying as he settled his chin on his knees. His scuffed leathers took on a more metallic texture, a little banged up, as he slowly smoothed out his features, and soon, sat still. An unintrusive trash-can, unassuming and innocent in that otherwise empty alleyway. Empty, until the flutter of Morpheus' cloak broke the still silence.
The floating hero landed, his eyes glancing along the alleyway, up and down. His ears had a curious shape to them, chiropteran in nature, but they relaxed back into the rounder tear-drops he was better known for.
'I know I heard him come this far..' The hero murmured, stepping slowly deeper into the gloom. He tugged at the odd box, empty of course. Lifted the lid of the large dumpster. Finding nothing other than a soft and rank scent, he closed it again. '..There's no access to buildings from here.. No sewer entrances..' the hero continued, checking one of the trash-cans, little though he expected from it. The kitsune was near as tall as he was. Fitting in one of those would be.. laughable, to say the least. The second was opened, and promptly closed, with the hero moving to the third. His eyes were drawn away, as he scarce believed he would find the kitsune hiding in such a comic place. But the hinged lid drew his attention, particularly when something wet surged up his arm.
Morpheus' twisting gaze found the inside of the trashcan full of something black, and slick and deep, almost like a black mass of ooze with a thick divet in its center, from which the purple thing poked out of. And then he was being hauled in, thrashing in shock as the deceptive Kitsune hauled him halfway down his throat in one go.
Black Velvet grinned, his shape unfurling as he swallowed. Once the hero was packed down, he wouldn't have any issue finishing up his initial plans.. He could give the rabbit an hour to attempt to calm down, and pack him after the hyena. Whether the police knew what he was, was irrelevant. They had no face to match, and no one ever expected his tricks.
Watching the hero's thrashing legs, the Kitsune's eyes narrowed as he noticed the soft glowing portions of those boots beginning to glow again. 'Not this time!' The kitsune thought, as he swallowed, and tensed his body, trying to crush the fight out of the hero with the nearly compactor strength his gullet and stomach could muster. He heard an agonized groan, and those boots sagged, the kitsune smirking as he slowly got to his feet. He hadn't intended to suck down a hero like this, but he was going to enjoy it all the same..
At least until he felt the queerest ripple within his throat and stomach. The hero lurched, and the legs that twitched from his lips, were instead a pair of arms. He could feel the hero's head in his maw, making him blink for a moment, before grinning. Morpheus could shift all he liked. He was deep enough now that there wasn't any hope for him now.
One of the hero's arms tucked, gripping to the kitsune's lower jaw, trying to anchor himself in place, whilst Black Velvet grunted, and started tugging again at the irksome hyenid's wrist to pry him free, swallowing heavily, in attempts to void the hero's escape attempt.
Morpheus yelped at the walls wringing over him, dragging at his form, inching him deeper into that terrifying, stiffling heat. His fingers trying valiantly to maintain their grasp. Staring at the dumpster nearby, he knew his one shot depended on not missing. His cloak snaked through his suit, winding about his free, outstretched hand. The morphic metal of his gauntlet adjusted, and then with an easily alchemised explosion, the makeshift anchor impacted the lip of the dumpster.
The Kitsune grunted at the hero making a proper nuisance of himself, growling and trying to bite down on the arms poking from his jaws. Morpheus grit his teeth, and with a yell, both agonized and desperate, unleashed another fresh surge of electricity from his aching form.
Tal knew a moment of sheer fury at the hybrid's tenacity, before the current wracked his body, and once more, drained what strength he'd managed to recover. The ground rushed up to meet the collapsing Kitsune, making the hero wheeze as he impacted it. Those slimey, rolling walls, as they had with Teio, had released the better portion of their strength.
Groaning out, Morpheus began climbing the sturdy rope he'd fashioned of his cape, shaking and tugging his head, his shoulders, and his aching torso free from those jaws. It took at least a minute to haul himself free, crawling free with a rather dishevelled air, leaning against the dumpster with a groan. Saliva drizzled from his form, and looking down, he blinked. His boots looked a little patchy.. Just from that small exposure to the villain's stomach.
'You.. enormous.. pain in my ass..' growled a shakey voice from behind him. The hyenolf turned, staring as Black Velvet got to his feet, panting, jerking a little as he tried to wrest control of his body into his hands again. 'The rabbit.. was mine..' The kitsune snarled, panting as he rubbed his aching gullet. 'My streak was.. going to be.. perfect.. And you just had to ruin it.'
Wincing for the ache of his body, Morpheus turned proper to face the kitsune. That dangerous tone made his ears lay and his eyes narrow, though he was scarcely in a position to fight.. He could withstand damage, he could redirect damage, but not when it was over his whole body. It had no where else to go.. The kitsune, once he had his strength back, would be a worry. 'Yeah, that's.. sort of what I do.' The hero managed to retort.
'We'll see for how long.. Next time I get you in my gullet, you're not getting out!' The kitsune snarled, licking his lips with his lengthy tongue, as he rolled his wrists. With a flick of them, a pair of daggers dropped from the arms of his jackets, snug in hand as he glared at the hero. He didn't like resorting to making a mess, but this.. -hero-, this should-be snack had pushed him too far.
Morpheus' eyes widened a little at the sight, managing to lift his arms in defense, the blades clashing with his gauntlets as he staggered. Gritting his teeth, he focused. The morphic metal lengthened into a pair of blades their own, and pushing into Black Velvet's attack, countered the strikes, pushing his aching body as the Kitsune lashed out strike after ferocious strike. It was a desperate back and forth, blades clashing and ringing, swings comming within whiskers breadths of one another's form.
The kitsune twisted, one of his tail buffeting the hero, putting him on the back foot, before he thrust forwards. Morpheus lept back, though he winced for the sting of something lancing his chest. He turned, and made a quick retort. The kitsune's eyes widened, as the attack came faster than he'd anticipated. His muscles still reacting poorly, he tried to get his face out of the way. A harsh yell rang out into the air, as a splash of red slung along one of the walls.
One of Black Velvet's knives dropped with a clatter, his hand clapping to his muzzle, feeling the rather deep cut bleeding profusely. He staggered back, his anger momentarily warring with his more calculating mind. And thankfully, the latter was winning out. 'Don't think this is over, you meddlesome bastard. Let's see you protect all of them!' And he flung his other knife, earning a deep gash in the hero's leg that dropped Morpheus with a yell to one knee.
Black velvet turned, staggering into a run, vanishing around a corner, as morpheus shouted after him. The sound of a retreating bootsteps, and a heavy manhole cover clattering out of sight heralded the Kitsune's tactical withdrawal, leaving Morpheus panting, and wincing.
Looking to his leg, it took several moments for the hero to adjust the damage. Several smaller cuts appearing along his body, rather easier to maintain and deal with.. His ribs would take a little longer.
Within the sewers, the Kitsune groaned as he walked. The steady drip of blood down his muzzle, into his fingerless gloved hand drew his attention. Clenching a fist, he growled, wincing for the sting of the air on his fresh wound, as much as the sting of defeat, and his plans for a good time being foiled. The thought of that rabbit, and in particular, the hyenolf, made his temper flare. 'I'll get you for this, Morpheus.' Black Velvet swore with a growl, vanishing deeper into the heart of the city.
